"This the type of food that keeps families together!" Hubby had me on the road for hours starving until I said hurry pick a spot! Outside wasn't really "giving" but I was open minded. Got inside and was offered the bar.... low profile YES! Got to the back and it was both high top and low tables. Love the atmosphere with the waiter, Richard, giving a real "homie" vibe! Brisket loaded fries (no subs) BUSS DOWN😋 Smokehouse burger- hubby wanted more sauce (there was more he couldve added l lol) Ordered rib tips as appetizers but we smashed those as soon as they arrived. (Sorry for not having pic) Will definitely order again!!

This is a BBQ place and that is really good here, They also have great Cajun food. Today I had shrimp etouffee. wow this was great today. Friendly staff excellent service and great food. Returned today it's been about a year since my last visit. Hey it's just as good as it always is, great food! Today I had a cup of gumbo and the shrimp jambalaya. Oh my I'll need to come back sooner. This was a large portion today.

Man-oh Man!!! I've had good food several times in life, but EXCELLENT food only a few. This was excellent. Everything here was made with AWARENESS & LOVE! I ordered 'The Sampler- 2 Meats'. I chose the 3 wings & pulled pork, and it came with two sides and I selected the Mac N Cheese and Beans. I also ordered a side of the Cajun Green Beans. This food is something to write home about! The wings although smothered in BBQ had so much flavor and seasoning I may have shed a tear. The pulled pork was SO tender it was almost wet, other than the PERFECTLY charred ends. Each bite was filled with a smokey flavor that could only have come from HOURS of smoking. I cant even describe the cajun green beans, just delicious and UNIQUE! The whole plate ... *Chefs Kiss* Would definitely order again!!

Came to this location with a group of 4 adults and 3 children and was beyond disappointed with the service. We were seated at 6:45pm and by 7:25 the only thing we had received was our drinks, which the order was taken by the busser. We had informed her that we were ready to order food to which she replied that our server would be with us soon. We waited, waited, and waited some more and the server never came or acknowledged us. After watching the server take a tables order who had been seated after us, we decided to leave.

Cozy place with delicious homestyle Cajun meals, bbq, and new specials everyday! The voodoo lounge is spacious with a large bar and plenty of dining space. Great place to bring groups and family and the bar offers a wide variety of fresh made cocktails and craft beers.

I come to Chucks in Burbank often, I live down the street and my kids love the food. I always recommend it to people bc I have never had a bad meal. I was there twice this week. The staff is usually amazing as well. Last night I went to the bar with my friend. Tom, the bartender, is great! Friendly, always cracking jokes, good vibes. The other bartender is rude, gets mad when you order a drink, then makes a comment to his manager who laughs at his comment bc he's mad about me ordering a coco loco. Then hands me my drink, I say thank you very much, not a word, doesn't acknowledge customers at all. His whole attitude when we are there is just absolutely shitty with us. If I do come back, I will just go on Thursday when Chrissy is there bc her vibe is as awesome as Tom's is. She was sweet, kind, and bought us a shot. But if you go when it's Tom and the young guy always on with him, make sure you order something like a beer or a shot since the young one gets mad he has to do his job. Then proceeds to talk shit about customers who order drinks that are listed on the menu. And the manager just laughs bc of his rude comments. I honestly don't want to come back after the way I was treated last night which is sad bc chucks is my go to. Im here like once a week. This isn't my first time getting a shitty experience with that bartender either. But I figured, lets give it another try. Same shitty attitude. You are in customer service, you should probably be nicer to your customers.

The last few delivery experiences here have not been great. We had an order so salty, it was barely edible. Most recently, we received gumbo that was all broth and no "stuff", as well as a grilled shrimp po'boy that was absolutely not seasoned at all, not to mention a missing bread roll. We called to let them know that there were issues with the items coming out of the kitchen because we know what they are capable of putting out. They assured me that they'd give me a customer credit if I called in an order in the future. I took them up on that today and learned that my customer credit was a mere $5.00, totally not worth it for the lackluster experience we had last time. I decided to cancel my order and forgo the credit, as it's not worth the cost to roll the dice again.

This place is amazing. To be clear this review will focus on brunch. Tthrey have a Mexi-Cajun fusion of breakfast items. Very creative and even more tasty. You will notice a picture of beignets, they only have these on the first Saturday of the month until they run out so reservations recommended!

Ample dining seating and parking, a good place for large parties. Friendly, prompt service. It's been quite a while since I've been to Chuck's BBQ and they haven't missed a beat. I would suggest the 2-3 meat samplers. Which consists of a choice of 2 sides, I chose Cajun Fries and Andouille Sausage dressing with Sage. My 3 meats were {Blackened Catfish (could have been a little bigger}, Brisket (nice portion} and 3 falloff the bone Baby Baby Back ribs. My sister ordered the Chicken Enchiladas, grilled chicken, Monterey Jack cheese, flour tortillas, house-made red mole, sour cream onion & cilantro; rice pilaf & side salad, She said it was very tasty. We split a Homemade Flan Cheesecake house-made flan with cream cheese. She served with whipped cream, caramel sauce and Banana Bread Pudding'Bananas, pecans, Bread Pudding, Caramel Sauce, Vanilla Ice Cream, and two very good coffees.

Food: I ordered a salad. It was ok. Chicken lacked of seasoning. Portion was good for the price. Along with my salad I tried their gumbo. It was tasty. Service: prompt Our waitress was welcoming. Ambiance: busy & loud Overall i will b back for their gumbo.

Stopped here as it's a DDD stop. Was a little disappointed as usually they are amazing. I got the fried shrimp platter which seemed a little overcooked. Mashed potatoes were delicious. Cornbread was also delicious. For dessert I ordered the strawberry rhubarb crumb dessert which kinda looked like veggies instead as there was really no crumb part. Maybe it just isn't a to-go dessert. Service was lacking, maybe they are short staffed as we sat for at least 20 minutes waiting to just place a drink order for soda.

I love this place! My friend and I went here and ordered the cheese curds, pork belly with onion rings on top, and the quesadillas. The cheese curds were so good! The breading was fried perfectly and the cheese just melted in your mouth. The pork belly was phonemal and the sauce on top was delicious. The onion rings were just okay. The quesadillas with wild mushrooms were sweet and then had a spicy kick to them. I really liked them a lot. The beans that came with it were smoky and tasty. The rice was cooked just right and packed with flavor. They gave us dinner rolls with our food as well and the bread was so fresh. The server was super fast and friendly. The atmosphere is a mardi gras vibe. There is so much seating in this huge space whether it be a low table, high top, bar, and beautiful outdoor patio when the weather permits. We will keep coming back! If you haven't been here, you should definitely go because you surely won't be disappointed.

The chilaquiles are delicious. I get them every time I come here. Big portion so I always take half home and eat the next day. Service is always good and attentive servers. Restaurant is also clean.

This place was nice. We had family in town for a short visit and needed to find a place to eat near Midway Airport. Of course, we looked at the reviews and decided to try this place. We were greeted immediately and throughout our meal, the wait staff was very attentive and friendly. The food was good. We ordered a variety of things and a few drinks (priced very reasonably). Too bad I did not get pics of everything ordered, because as the food arrived, everyone started digging in. This is always a good sign! The one thing that stood out as really really good was the Loaded Brisket Fries. The side salads were the size of a regular salad, but who would complain about large portions. Another mentionable were the cajun cakes. It was a different taste but we all enjoyed them. We didn't visit the voodoo lounge; which I heard is always eventful. But, If you're in the area, you must stop by.

I wanted to try this place cause I've heard they had good barbecue. I had the beef brisket and it was a little tough but still good and the choices of barbecue sauce is really good too. I tried the chipotle barbecue sauce and it was definitely on point. Other than that I gave it a four star because they brought out the main dish first and the appetizer was last coming out. I was told that the shrimp appetizer I ordered takes longer to cook. If I had known that when i made the order I would not have ordered it. Also the waitress was nice and the place is a nice size too and parking was not an issue either.

Today was beignet breakfast and since I was already planning an excursion to the south suburbs, this seemed like a good idea. It has been well over three years since I've been to Chuck's but not much has changed. In fact, the one thing that may have changed (because I'm not sure if this was completed pre-pandemic or not) is their outdoor space which is more sheltered than it used to be. It seems like a place that could easily be heated in the cooler fall days too if they wanted. Besides the beignets, which were good, I got the machacado omelette. I think I've eyed it before but never wanted to deviate from my typical omelette choice but decided to give the machacado a try this time. All the ingredients are things I like so why not? So while I'm glad I tried it and put that curiosity to rest, I didn't like it. The smoky brisket was just very overpowering for me and competed with the other flavors--for my palate, it was unbalanced.

Ok first off, we love this place but this is my first review. Must orders include their famous BBQ, 1/4 Smoked BBQ Chicken, Rib Tips, Cajun green beans, and the hot BBQ sauce. The service is good, no issues ever. Do not get the catfish. Mine was dry, salty, and thin with hardly any meat. I won't ever get the catfish again but I do recommend Chuck's.

Even though the menu changes slightly on a consistent basis there is always some great stuff. All of the soups are outstanding. They should do a soup flight...it would kill it. This place is unique because it has some diverse items on the menu. The home style cooked meals with a Cajun twist are always fantastic. Some so called bbq aficionados don't necessarily like the bbq...they are being ridiculous. Bbq is one of the most diverse things cooked with regionally, local and individual tastes. Don't sleep on the breakfast...it is outstanding.

Really enjoyed lunch here. Served was friendly and suggested having the nachos deconstructed! Who would have thought if that? Now I have leftovers for another meal rather than soggy chips. The brisket dinner was tasty - sauces on point. Enjoyed the Mac and cheese and beans. Extensive beer list and good drink list especially being ready for Mardi Grad. Took too long to get here once but will certainly be back.

We hosted a Luncheon here for 50 people after a funeral. We have dined here in the past, and remembered great food. They were able to accommodate us on a short notice of two days. Maria was so helpful with setting up our event. We chose a family style option with Brisket (2.99 extra per person - well worth it!), bbq chicken, Mac n cheese, and smashed potatoes. I thought the price per person was super fair and it was nice that soft drinks and coffee were included. When we arrived the day of, everything was set up beautifully. They set up an extra 6 seats, which worked out well as we had a few extra people. They even set up another table for us last minute when we had extra guests. There was a coffee station ready for us and the server (maybe Carrie? ) was so attentive and quick to get our guests other drinks. I have to say, they were so accommodating and really made sure we had everything we needed. The staff was so sweet and genuine. The food was great, several guests commented they loved it. Overall, we were so happy with the level of service we received. Thank you so much to the entire team at Chucks for being so welcoming and attentive during such a hard time. I highly recommend hosting any type of event here, you will be taken care of!

Ordered here after reading a couple of the reviews and I have to say this place has good tasting pork ribs. The meat is tender, and it falls off the bone. The ribs smell fresh, and the BBQ sauce is actually pretty good, not too spicy and not too mild. The coleslaw and the baked beans smelled fresh, and tasted good. I've tried other rib places nearby and the pork meat smelled off and the meat was tough, almost like it was old. Not with Chuck's. Overall, this place is pretty good if you are in need of some pork ribs.

I don't know how many more great things I can say about this place. I always go to the Voodoo Lounge side and eat at the bar. The staff is knowledgeable and engaging. The atmosphere is super chill. The drink menu is fabulous. The Cajun food is amazing. I follow them on social media and saw they were making Cajun Meatloaf today which is one of my favorites. The Canadian Sour drink is delicious. It's a seasonal drink.

I've been coming here for years. I never had a bad experience at Chucks. My family had Chucks cater Thanksgiving Dinner this year. The food was great! Everything was great. The food was on time & I had help loading into my car. I would definitely recommend Chucks for dine in, carry out & catering! Thank You!

The ambiance is amazing!! We were seated right away and loved how the server was nice and quick with 12 people ordering. The food was so good and recommend it for anyone who loves ribs or a lot of meat. My pulled pork sandwich was saucy and really good.

I've been here before, a few times. The only beef I got with this place. Tuesday night bingo in the bar and no where to park. I had to wait ten minutes for someone to leave so I could park. Maybe that's extreme but I had to wait. Walk right in and booths and tables available. Waitress was knowledgeable and helpful in getting things ordered. Full slab of ribs with Cajun fries, and Jambalaya Rice. Yummy and filling.

From the time he opened his first restaurant and worked the counter himself; THIS WAS A LONG TIME AGO! 7 years ago, I was diagnosed with GLUTTEN SENSITIVITY and told to NOT EAT wheat. In the beginning, I avoided Chucks entirely. For the past 5 years I would occasionally go to Chucks for BBQ. Each time I would ask the waitress if they had GLUTTEN FREE BUNS; the answer was, and STILL IS NO! Frequently waitresses suggest "You can have your sandwich without the bun". THINK ABOUT HOW INSULTING THIS IS! A better solution is to go to establishments that offer G.F. Buns, Like Culver's or TOMMY T's Tavern in Orland Park( https://www.tommytstavern.com), where they HAVE GLUTTEN FREE BUNS. Chuck if you have enough business, KEEP on KEEPING ON. We came here expecting to wait a VERY long time on Mardi Gras, but we only had to wait around 35 minutes of the HOUR that they expected. For 6:45pm on Fat Tuesday that's pretty good. It was full but not hectic. We waited near the bar (the only ones wearing masks, but it's fine, restrictions were lifted) and watched the slot machines. I sipped an Abita Amber ale while waiting, to prepare myself for the Hurricane drink I knew was coming later! This was my 2nd sit down dinner there since pre-pandemic. They had a great idea to do 'tapas' and other specials for Mardi Gras, in addition to their limited regular menu. We all wanted to try the Seafood Pot Pie but by 8pm they were SOLD OUT! I hope someone else tried it and can tell me if I missed anything. We got ribs, cajun mac n cheese, pork boudoin balls, root salad, blackened chicken, and profiteroles for dessert. I liked the small plates idea, that way we did not have to feel tied down to any 1 thing. The Waitress was friendly and helpful but the 'server' was a little error-prone, bringing out the salads with the other food, and bringing a full size portion of what should have been tapa size, but after a few sips of the hurricane, I wasn't worried. The atmosphere was festive with decorations but quieter in the dining room. The pork balls were good, and the creamy sauce was a good complement. I liked the mac and cheese, just enough meat/shrimp, and the profiteroles were Awesome! We got paczkis to go by the register, in lemon. It was almost closing time so the cashier gave them to us gratis! Such a great indulgence.

The atmosphere at this restaurant is so cute and cozy! Ive been coming here for maybe 12 years since I'd discovered that they make the best Mac and cheese in the entire world. Not even kidding I've been trying to recreate this at home and it never comes close to theirs. I will never know what they put into it that makes it so good which is fine with me as long as they stay open forever and never stop serving it!

Picked the wrong day. Grinch Xmas party too noisy. BUT entrees were unique and tasty. Poblano soup had just the right amount of heat. Andouille sausage stuffing and green bean sides were well prepared. Korean BBQ sauce had a nice kick. Ribs with house sauce were yummy. Service was quick. Will be back

Chuck's used to be the "real deal" back before his original location on the SE corner of 79th & Central was taken by a fire that claimed the business. Chuck then moved his business to the current flagship store in Burbank, and I know he has at least one other location in Darien. He dabbled in some Tex-Mex flavors, Cajun dishes and also various Latin dishes.. sometimes Cuban, sometimes Puerto Rican and sometimes straight-up Mexican fare. The food was exciting and different. Over the years the menu seems to have lost some of that excitement, and IMO the focus now is on his BBQ fare. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad, but it's not really good either?!?! I work close to the Burbank location, so we used to frequent the restaurant almost once a month. Since the pandemic, we've scaled it back to maybe 2-3 times because the food, quite frankly, is just okay. The place is pretty cool, spacious and inviting. The service has always been decent, but the real attraction here was always the eclectic food. Today 6 of us ordered lunch to-go, and all of us where underwhelmed. The highlight of the meal was the Smoked Boudin Balls - which are deep fried balls of pulled pork, andouille sausage and jambalaya served with a Cajun ranch dipping sauce. They are pretty unique and very tasty. 3 of the 6 of us ordered the 2 meat BBQ sampler. The brisket was dry... and the mild sauce had very little flavor. The pulled pork was average, at best. It all seemed to be lacking seasoning.. 2 others had the Chuck's Special Sandwich - which included brisket, Jack cheese, grilled peppers and a side of au jus. Again, the sandwich itself was decent - mainly because of the toppings and au jus give the dry brisket the moisture and flavor it needed. The brisket needs to be the star of that sandwich and it just wasn't. The last order was the Chicken Tenders Dinner. This featured 6 HUGE tenders of breast meat. Unfortunately, they were heavily breaded and over cooked to the point that they were dry. The breading also was very bland?!?! Of the sides that everyone ordered, the fries, of all things, were the best. The mac and cheese was bland. The slaw was just meh. I had the andouille sausage stuffing that featured no visible andouille sausage and no andouille sausage flavor. On a side note, the chicken tenders were so hot when they were put into the styrofoam container that they melted a hole through one of the sides - making one of them inedible. We appreciate the hot food, but the smell and appearance of melted styrofoam is pretty off-putting. No one took pictures because no one really had anything to say about the food. We were hungry and it filled that void. I normally wouldn't waste my time writing a review after eating a meal such as this, but the place used to be really solid?!?! I guess my memories of really good meals eaten at Chuck's has prompted me to write this and ask what happened? There are plenty of so-so restaurants around. Chuck's needs to do better.

Best BBQ in the area! The food alone with the service exceeded my expectations. Plenty of seating options to choose from! There is a dining room area that is traditional, however we selected the voodoo lounge and were not disappointed. The voodoo lounge is vibrant, & lively featuring bright and colorful decor along with upbeat music. There is also an outdoor patio where customers can dine weather permitting. Everything is delicious and portions are generous!

The brownie I order on grub hub was so raw it was all mush not chewy at all it took them 30 minutes to confirm the order and still a raw brownie in the end

If you want Pulled pork, choose the entree. The sandwich is a fail with gray and crumbly meat pieces. Yuck. It's also very inconsistent. Had food plenty of times while dining in. Ordering out. Catering and work functions in the back. All in all... mesh The other location in Darian has a lot more beer options and food is slightly better

Always busy. The food is either too salty or not seasoned enough. They changed their fries and took the banana nut foster off the menu. This was very heart breaking. The best thing they have are their bread rolls with salted butter, Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and wings. There bbq meats have been dry the times I have went. They used to be sooo good.

I love Chuck's, and only have a couple of requests that could make it even better if I can be so bold as to offer them. Please could you bring back the Mexican rice? We can't be eating enchiladas with rice pilaf. It's just not right. That rice was a highlight, and a real star on the breakfast scene too. That brings me to my second request - would you consider making breakfast all day instead of just a handful of hours, even if you still need to restrict it to the weekend? It's heartbreaking when one realizes the only thing they want in the world is Huevos a la Frontera but it's 11am and you're never going to make it to Chuck's on time. Thanks for everything, Chuck!

Stopped for lunch here today with Jr. This was our 1st time here. We read thru some useful reviews. Note: We always avoid the Negative Nancy's. We ordered the Smoked Boudin Balls appetizer. Super yummy. Jr ordered the Beef Brisket Sandwich w Cajun Fries. I ordered the Rib Tip Dinner with 2 sides Cajun Fries and Mac n Cheese. Tasty and plenty of food for the price. I wish I had a 2nd stomach. Our server Valerie was great! On top of her game. Overall.....Outstanding! We can't wait to come back as there is so much to try.

I've had Chucks a few times now. The service has always been fast and the food is on point. Love there Ribs and smoked meats. However the Mac and Cheese is the real winner as it is some of the best Mac and Cheese I've ever had from a BBQ restaurant. I always get an extra quart to go. You really can't go wrong with any thing you order. Also Jalapeño Cornbread is to die for! Will be back again soon.

One of my all time favorites. Runs in the family as my parents went here when they were my age. Great BBQ, Great Seafood, although in recent years it hasn't been as consistent, and I no longer consider it "the best", that's the only thing keeping Chuck from a 5.

My boyfriend and I stopped in as we were running errands in the area. I hadn't been to this location in quite some time. I typically sat in the voodoo lounge area when I came to eat. We chose to sat in the dining area this time. It had changed drastically. Very country. Not opposed, but surprised. Server took awhile to come to the table. I am a server, it was a long wait to place our order. I got the catfish sandwich with fries. It was ok. Seemed like the fish was older. Server was very friendly, but the experience was sub par. I used to have a great time here. I was disappointed introducing my boyfriend to this place.

He likes that they have his beer here so we came for dinner. We sat in the Voodoo Lounge section of the restaurant. It was a game day atmosphere. We sat at a high top table next to the bar. Our server was friendly and checked on us frequently but not enough to be a pest. I appreciated her cheery attitude. He ordered the rib tip dinner which is slow-smoked pork rib tips in BBQ sauce, dinner portion. I went with the Cajun BBQ shrimp grilled in Cajun butter sauce with garlic, green onions accompanied with French bread for dipping into the sauce. The crusty bread went well with the sauce. I enjoyed my shrimp very much. It could have more taste in the sauce but the shrimp was cooked well so it was not chewy. His pork rib tips were divine. Melted in your mouth soft and the bbq sauce was delish. The atmosphere was fun and sports were on the tv screens around the lounge. But it was not too loud in here for conversation. You can also pick songs to be played using the music app. He suggested I use the restrooms in the restaurant portion of the building as they might be cleaner. They have a parking lot and a sign which says not to park on Natchez or Neenah as your vehicle might be ticketed or towed by police. They put up signs to show you which way to enter the small parking lot and which way to exit so be on the lookout for them especially during busy hours. I liked this restaurant and would return.

Pro Top- order everything you need when you order, your meal/refills/extras, should not be served in waves. Chuck's is always a treat for me and I always enjoy going there for a meal. Although their BBQ is tasty, my go to favorite is their shrimp jambalaya with a side of Mac and Cheese. I have never been disappointed any time I have come here. Now that I think about it, I have not been here for breakfast a very long time. I need to change this.

We love this place! We've been coming here for years! Service is always exceptional as well as the food! The BBQ pork nachos are AWESOME!

Always very good food. My favorite is their nachos! The ambiance their is comfortable and they provide good service. There are always many people eating there.
