I usually rarely leave reviews for food places, but I just have to say that this spot represents everything that is wrong with Miami right now. The reason I rarely leave reviews is because opening a restaurant is hard enough, and I do not believe that if someone is genuinely trying their hardest to give you good food at a decent price you should put them down just because something was not right for your taste buds. I think it is good for the city to have new restaurants opening all the time and giving people new and exciting things to try. But this is very clearly not someone who is trying their best to give people decent food. At the very least they have decent prices, but I cannot think of anyone who has ever had an actual frita that would enjoy this place.
I am honestly pretty frustrated because I came here after watching a Mr. Eats305 review, and he is usually pretty on the money, but this place was just objectively bad. I ordered a cheeseburger, a frita, fries, and a drink. I was excited for the frita because I thought it would be cool to have a new and aesthetically pleasing place for people to try fritas, but now I realize why they say if it is not broke, do not fix it. Compared to El Rey de las Fritas, this frita was plain, flavorless, slightly burnt on top, and lacked everything that makes a frita a frita.
The cheeseburger tasted like the type of frozen burger you would get at an amusement park stand. The chug sauce was pretty good, but honestly, I have never disliked a burger sauce. The fries were fries, nothing to complain about, and the option to add seasoning and shake it in the bag is nice, but I cannot say I will ever go back or recommend anyone go considering how trash their burgers are.
