The 9 Best Breakfast Spots In Downtown Miami - Miami - The Infatuation

"Chug’s is a Cuban diner in Coconut Grove—but they also now have a tiny ventanita in Downtown, where they offer a small menu of sandwiches, pastries, and coffee. There are two tables outside, but this is almost entirely a to-go operation. The food here isn’t as good as Chug’s 1.0, but keep it in mind if you want to have a lap full of croquetas, pastelitos, and a solid Cuban sandwich on the ride home." - ryan pfeffer

Google
been looking for a place like this in downtown Miami I am from New York so I know what a bacon egg and cheese should consist of this. Nailed it on all aspects. Great brioche bun eggs were scrambled great good American cheese bacon was cooked great it was just about $20 for two of them which is a great price for Miami bacon, egg and cheese. Great really quick spot right on the main road. Totally recommend well done

The pastelito with guava and cream cheese is one of the best i’ve tried. The pastry was so buttery and flaky!

This place is the best! I live nearby and go often. Always greeted with the utmost kindness and care. Working a food service widow solo can’t be easy but Derek, Sarahi and Kariam crush no matter how long the line gets (a sign that the coffee and menu are worth the wait). 10/10 worth your while!

Google
Chugs Express, much like the one in Coconut grove is overpriced tourist food. There are much better lunch spots to eat at/pickup food than here. Also prices were slightly higher than displayed in the most recent photo (about $2 more an item).

I was running errands in the downtown area and came across this awesome spot. Its an unassuming coffee window in the heart of downtown but the food was incredible! Highly recommend the Spinach Croquetas or Express Burger. Derek took good care of me and makes a killer vanilla latte.

Great cuban coffee spot. Easy for a quick grab and go pastelito or cortadito. Simple and consistently good! The seating is minimal but comfortable.

Google
I live nearby and so this little walk-up place (in an area that is still mostly under development with few comparable options or cafes) is a godsend. They are part of the same ownership as the high-end french restaurant next door and you can tell in the quality of the food. We've tried about everything on the menu by now and not one miss. Particularly enjoy the breakfast sandwich + the fries are excellent. Solid coffees. It's a bit the $$$-side but nowadays in this town, that could be grading on the wrong curve. Friendly staff (ditto on the prior praise for Alexis, she's so nice). Be prepared to wait a few minutes, and it is only a walk-up with tables nearby (so don't expect to wait in air conditioning). Sparse street parking around, so more of a spot to get a quick good bite when you are already in the area on foot.

Yelp
The coffee is okay, but expensive and the service is hit or miss. I've stood at the window for a long time with no one even taking order. If there were other nearby coffee shop not sure they'd have much business Chug's in the Grove this is not

Yelp
Conveniently located in the heart of the Miami World center. Amazing service and they now serve brunch on Sunday. The guava pancakes are a must.

Yelp
Service can be slow sometimes because there is only one person working the counter at any given time. Coffee is decent but nothing to write home about. We ordered their cafe con leche both hot and iced, with hazelnut syrup. Their ham and cheese croquetas were okay. I appreciate the convenience of it being on the first floor of our airbnb. The workers were friendly. Ambiance is nothing fancy, just a counter and pick up window.

Yelp
This place is average at best. It's convenient to the area but overpriced for the food. You will likely wait a while for a simple breakfast sandwich, which I'm not sure how considering there's a full kitchen in the back. We were the only people here and waited a bit for the sandwiches. FYI it's also only outdoor seating. Kind of disappointed in this place compared to other Chugs. I now understand the other low star reviews.... BUT THE COFFEE IS SO GOOD

Yelp
I wouldn't return to this place again, to be honest. It was a major letdown and the prices were way too high. The value for money was not worth it. $4 for a colada and a cafe con leche $5 is unreasonable. The coffee itself is quite mediocre. This was my first and last visit here.

Yelp
Coffees decent but honestly this place is only in business because of its location and lack of other surrounding cafes/restaurants. Foods atrocious and the service is very slow. Not even basic things like a pastelito or a croqueta are good here. Spare yourself and go somewhere else.

Yelp
Ok food, not many options and very expensive. Also just a pickup spot with some seating. No actual service is presented.
