South San Diego’s Mmm...Cakes Bakery and Cafe Opens in Chula Vista | Eater San Diego

"A local brewery where I’ve been running well-received pop-ups; a Halloween Beetlejuice-themed collaboration with the bakery is scheduled to take place there next week." - Candice Woo

Chula Vista Brewery and Oak and Anchor open new Eastlake tasting room | Eater San Diego

"Expanding into The District at Eastlake alongside Oak and Anchor BBQ, the new Chula Vista Brewery outpost will take over The Brewhouse’s former space and feature a 2,000-square-foot main tasting and dining room with communal tables and a custom mural by local artist Mr. B Baby, plus a 500-square-foot sail shade–covered outdoor seating area. The second taproom will house a 10-tap system pouring the Black-owned brewery’s most popular beers, including Hilltop IPA, Guerita Blonde Ale, and Humble Double IPA; co-founder Timothy J. Parker also won a bronze at the 2019 Great American Beer Festival for the American Brown Ale Browner Than Ivan. A new on-site 10-barrel brewing system will greatly expand capacity from the current five-barrel setup at the original location, and merchandise and four-packs will be available for retail." - Mario A. Google
Awesome brewery with tons of seating. It's a great spot to hang out with friends and have a well-made beer. The tasting room is very open and inviting. There are TVs where you can catch a game. There is indoor and outdoor seating. If you walk to the back, you can see the brew house, too. The staff was super friendly. This place is a must stop if you are hanging out in the area. Street parking is limited, but more parking is located nearby on the side streets.

Google
Nice little brewery. I like the fact that they give military discounts. It's not too big, they do have large tables great for large parties. The beer on tap is well rounded. the only thing missing here is a kitchen. You are allowed to bring outside food in, so that's a bonus. The glassware was clean, and so was the establishment. The beer tender was friendly, all and all this is a nice little joint worth visiting.

Google
Chula Vista Brewery is hands down one of my favorite spots in town! Their beer selection is top-notch, constantly rotating and bringing in fresh new brews. I especially love their Xela IPA, but no matter when you visit, you’re bound to find something unique and delicious on tap. They also serve hard seltzers in flavors like mango and orange, which remind me of a mimosa—or a "beer-mosa," if you will—light, refreshing, and super easy to drink. One of the things that makes this brewery special is the atmosphere. The space is packed with tons of plants, giving it a calm, cozy feel. Plus, being on the west side of Third Avenue, it doesn’t get too much direct sunlight, making it a cool, shady oasis—a perfect place to escape the heat on those warm summer days. They’re always hosting fun events, like Lotería (Mexican bingo), trivia nights, and more. With plenty of TVs, it’s also an awesome spot to catch a game. And if you’re looking for something to keep you entertained, they’ve got classic games like Ms. Pac-Man, Connect Four, and Jenga. They even occasionally spin vinyl records, adding to the laid-back, eclectic vibe. One of the coolest perks they offer is their Mug Club Membership. For a one-time fee, you get your own custom mug and enjoy discounts on beers every time you visit. It’s a great way to feel like part of the community while getting a little extra bang for your buck. What really sets Chula Vista Brewery apart, though, is the customer service. The staff is super friendly, and Paulina, in particular, makes the place feel like home. If she sees me walking down the street, she’ll step outside, say hi, and even give my dog some love—it’s those little personal touches that make this place truly special. They do have a kitchen space, but it’s currently not in use. From what I’ve heard, they’re looking for another business to sublet it, so fingers crossed something tasty moves in soon. If you’re ever in the area, this is definitely a must-visit spot. Whether you’re grabbing a beer, relaxing, or socializing with friends, Chula Vista Brewery is the place to be!

Google
This place is honestly a joke. The bouncers are unbelievably rude and seem to go out of their way to kill the vibe. They enforce a no dancing policy—even though there’s a DJ playing and the bar literally advertises a dance floor. Make it make sense. The place itself is tiny, dirty, and feels more like an afterthought than an actual brewery or bar. Nothing about it is inviting. Between the attitude at the door and the misleading “dance floor” hype, this place sucks. There are way better spots in Chula Vista than this “brewery”—skip this one.

Google
Love this Brewery. Veteran owned. Good people. Oak and Anchor BBQ serving that fire Brisket and extras here. Have tried several of their brews and have to say they are fantastic all around. If you come to Chula Vista Village then make sure to make Chula Vista Brewery a destination.

Google
I loved the 90s rap/hip hop background music and welcoming atmosphere. The horchata lager and nitro stout were smooth and delicious. The horchata was just slightly sweet with a nice finish. The pineapple seltzer was out of this world with the sweet and spicy rim. As an Air Force girl, I appreciate the Navy vibe.

Google
Beer is great. Only giving four stars do to the slow "Slow" customer service... I waited about 10 minutes to order and another 15 to get my drinks. Dont trip if you see 2 charges on your phone... They hold one for a few days but it clears. There on a Saturday evening.

Brian O.

Google
Planned to visit but they are not open during their posted hours. I don’t live close by so it’s a little disappointing. Will change the review if I get the chance to purchase their beer in the future

Yelp
We are back at Chula Vista Brewery It was cold night. So we gathered to celebrate the Day of the kings with a rosca It's the same we wish the bathrooms were better Not yet fixed up The everyone water or beer Service was good

Yelp
It's unassuming but super quaint and relaxed. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They asked about our day and talked to us about our stay in San Diego. The staff is AWESOME! The beers hit the spot on our way back from the boarder. They have a good selection of beers with something for everyone. They also had some awesome swag: shirts and hats. PARKING: They had a bunch of spots out front so you shouldn't have a problem finding a spot. They're located near a couple of other breweries so you can brewery hop if that's your thing, it's for sure my thing. This place is definitely worth visiting!

Yelp
The service goes above and beyond the line of duty. This is a cornerstone business where the locals come gather.

Yelp
Stopped into this brewery with my family after Sesame world on a Sunday Afternoon and we were super excited. The whole place smelled like a mixture of cleaning products and puke. My wife was immediately saying that we couldnt stay. I convinced her to stay, and I ordered one of every of their (4) beers on draft to taste. I was shocked to see what the served as their rice lager. I have attached a photo. As someone who frequently drinks SD craft beer and has home brewed - this was a bad batch... a really bad batch of beer. The lager had no clarity, smelled like formaldehyde and other super off bitter weird flavors. Not all the 4 beers were bad, I think their hazy pale was the only one I'd have again. The beertender was very nice. The space was great. But the tastes and smells were so bad we left in a hurry. The brewmaster needs to know about this review.

Cassandra P.

Yelp
This place has really gone downhill. I used to frequent this bar regularly, especially when they had Mariachi Sundays, but it appears that a lot has changed since they reopened. Not only was the owner very rude, but then two individuals got told to leave for dancing.. apparently they don't allow any dancing?? Felt like I was teleported into the movie Footloose. Don't play music or have a live DJ if you don't want people dancing, it's that simple. They should've stayed shut down if you ask me.

Yelp
I first saw this beer in Costco, and knew I needed to get to the pub to try it all! Decided upon a flight and came away with a 4 pack. Plenty of variety for whatever your brew preference, and friendly service to help. War Planes was my #1, followed by Breakers Beach.

Yelp
Chula Vista brewery is definetly a good vibe. Parking is street parking or of course you pay to park. I would just Uber it since there's many more places to eat and drink in the area. They have long tables to sit at with stools. Plenty of tv's to watch the games. Most importantly I love alllll the plants inside!! Bartenders are great and they are opened pretty late in comparison to other breweries.

Issa P.

Yelp
WHAT AN AMAZING STAFF! The staff was kind enough to allow us to host a small gathering here for free and bring our own food. Dalia helped us plan and Paulina was our host. Both were so patient and really made the day special. The space is a little smaller but allows for more intimacy and to be near everyone. The music and records really add to the vibe. Also loved that the old school games were free play which allowed out guest to do more than just drink and eat. The drink options were a bit limited but the stuff they do have was delicious and our entire group loved it!
google avatar

Julie H.

Yelp
Beers were not good. Guys in this place were super loud, angry, & annoying. Probably the only good thing I can say is they've got free old school arcade games.

Yelp
This great little local brewery on 3rd Ave in Chula Vista was our second stop on a winding pub crawl around San Diego. Veteran-owned, it was busy on a summer Friday night. Street parking. I found something besides IPA - always a win. Support local!

Yelp
Good service and a decent place to hangout with friends. Shows sports on tv. Great beer selections for a brewery

Yelp
Great place for a beer especially on Sundays when there is mariachi! I highly suggest the Guerita or Humble IPA if you're into IPAs.
google avatar

Marissa P.

Yelp
I'd been wanting to come here for so long. When my friend mentioned it, I hopped on it! I'm not crazy about beer, but definitely getting more into it. Me & my friend had the Guerita with a chamoy & Tajín rim. So nice we did it twice! Definitely will be back to try more. This night they had Pizza 619 outside selling pizza. I'd never had an elote pizza so I had to hop on it! So nice I wanted to do it twice but I had to relax LOL It really was amazing though. I'm definitely going to need that again. Would definitely recommend this place! Can't wait to check out their Eastlake location:

Yelp
Chula Vista Brewery is cool play to enjoy a good beer and great music. They feature BBQ (food truck outside) that is very delicious. CV Brewery is on the heart of Third Avenue in CV, providing great selections of beers. This was my first time visiting this brewery and it will not be the last time. The atmosphere is awesome. I look forward to going back and trying more of their beers. I highly recommend that you visit CV Brewery when in Chula Vista.

Yelp
Was out bar hopping and a friend recommended to stop in and check out this place. Looked cool per previous reviews, I was told they have a DJ on the weekends. We where out on a Saturday but no DJ there. The place looks pretty neat, a bit small in my opinion but okay place to hang. They have some game (not sure what it's called) but it's was a wooden stick with a string and circle at the end that you swing and try to hook . Was pretty fun. I do have to say their drink selection was a little disappointing, I expected a bigger selection compared to other breweries around. I tried their Guava Seltzer and initially tasted okay but had a weird after taste. Did like the touch of chamoy on the rim though! They don't have any food so we had to order food from next door and bring it over. I guess that's a plus they do allow you to bring in food from other places and eat it there. We stayed for a while just watching a game, they have tvs on both sides of the place so either side you sit on you'll have a view of the screen.

Yelp
Eastlake location - Fun ambiance with amazing staff. Candy is such a fun polite and attentive beer tender. She is on her game. She recommended a few beers that we we're all very happy with. She was quick with refills and always had a smile on her face. She took really good care of my group. We've gone a few time and the fried cauliflower was delicious. Now they have Birria Kings I believe it is and she recommended a vampiro and oh man. Must try. Super chill place where you can just go in and not worry about being underdressed or far from home.

Yelp
We came here for a night out and this place was the right call. It was a Friday Evening around 5pm. Wasnt too busy at first and we ended up in the long table in the middle of the place. Enough to sit a very large party. They had a very decent selection of beers and flights as well. For the designated drivers or stick in the muds, they have water, soda etc.. Every beer we tried ended up being very good, my favorite was the "Can't Touch this" beer. The place was very clean and the employees were constantly clearing the tables and taking away glasses etc. We had such a good time here, that after bar hopping we ended up back here. Great atmosphere, respectful security etc.. Quick Tip - If you need to hit the can, do it ASAP. The lines can get pretty big here. I had to wait about 15mins around 11PM.

Yelp
Veteran owned spot with a deep history with the name of the city they are named after: Chula Vista. Chula Vista Brewery has a great selection of brews to accommodate your needs and desires. What makes them the ideal location is that it's right on Third Ave - Downtown Chula Vista and directly across from them is my friend and entrepreneur, owner/operator of Oak and Anchor BBQ. They're working in a fully time collaboration of making great brews with equally exquisite food. Warplanes and Crushable Oro are the go-to's for me on every one of my visits, and I like to try any new items they may have and it never disappoints. You should too. Cool thing about this place is they will fill your growler regardless of where the growler is from. While other places give you a hard time about filling up a growler that's not theirs, the awesome staff here just says "for sure" and even washes it my growler for me and fills it like Fat Joe says, "All The Way Up!" (Pro Tip: wash your damn growler before you bring it. Don't let it sit under your sink for 10 months and then bring it all stinky). Another thing is that they got pretty dope gear and apparel that it sells out quickly so be on the look out for their Instagram deals and get you a nice hat with some beer for an incredible price. They started a legit mug club that I need to get more info on before I speak about it. Check out my dudes Navy shadow box up on the wall and pay some respect to the homey. Pay some respect to my homey at the BBQ spot as well. Both homey's are retired and doing great things for the community! Get your friends, family and Sanchas/sanchos and bring your thirst, but keep the drama at home and enjoy a delicious and sensually devine brew! Tell them NavyDavy sent you. They'll say "who is that?" But that's okay, at least you're letting them know a fellow Navy Chief is getting the word out! I HAVE SPOKEN!

Yelp
Here it is, brewery visit #143. CVB is right in downtown Chula Vista with two other breweries within staggering distance. We chose to stop here when we saw it's owned by an active duty naval officer. My Dad is a Vietnam-era Navy veteran, and I'm a USMC veteran so it was an easy choice. Yes, Yelp, the business is complying with all the statist covid regulations that Comrade Gavin has in place. We had food to ward off the covid. I started with the Mamas Mexican Lager. I would have liked a little more sweetness from this one but it was still a pretty good Mexican lager. The Oktoberfest was a light one. I would have liked just a little more malty flavor out of this. Still a tasty beer but not my favorite Oktoberfest. Papas Pils was next. I know I had to order both the Mamas and the Papas, because well, I figured it might have me "dancing in the streets". Yeah, Google that shit youngster. The Papas was a nice little pils. Smooth and easy drinking. Recipe For Haze was only slightly hazy but had nice hop aroma and flavor. I hadn't tried it yet but went with a pint of Browner Than Ivan to go with our pizza. Pizza was delivered from a place nearby through an app, making it really easy. Yes, have food to ward off the covid, because food wards off the covid. "Muh, science" per Comrade Newsom. Anyway, the pizza was good. Ah, back to the Browner Than Ivan. This was a nice brown ale and a good accompaniment to the pizza. If anyone is a glutton for punishment, please, follow my brewery, and distillery, reviews from across the U.S. and beyond! https://www.yelp.com/collection/-8iscFkpiiCI563-FDfwGg and if anyone is wondering who SWPFTD is you will have to check out my review of Black Market Brewing Co in Temecula, CA to understand. Yes, you will need to read into it a little to get the joke but I have confidence in you!

Yelp
IPA & social distancing We're finally able to come inside! This is the neighborhood brewery, it's so chill, good beer, great owners. Definitely miss dancing here, the staff, the music and dancing with my friends. For now I settle for an IPA and football.
google avatar

C. Jay O.

Yelp
Great spot in the South Bay! I've had their IPA and a few other beers. All of which were clean, tasty and true to form. They offer a smaller, family vibe you don't often see or feel in breweries. I believe they're also Veteran-owned. So that's a perk too! Will be back in the future!
google avatar

Cliff P.

Yelp
This is was really cool. Went there with wifey last Saturday. I come here every now and then since I live around the corner. The beer was great. I suggest war planes. The place seemed busier than usually. They had a DJ playing and he was taking request. They had a light show going and the music that was playing was just awesome. We had a really good time. I would recommend!
google avatar

Jaime A.

Yelp
Great selection of beers on tap. Can get busy but always lively and had a dj last time I went. Worst part is parking but it's 3rd...
google avatar

Vanessa G.

Yelp
This past week I joined some friends here and had the best time. The music was good as well as the atmosphere. People were having a good time. You could tell many people meet up here after a long hard day at work. It was nice to see people out socializing. If you love beer and want to try some an IPA or even a light beer you will find it here. Come early to get a table this place will get packed. After there is tacos trucks right along the street for your enjoyment. Chula Vista on 3rd Ave is getting live at night come check it out

Jackie S.

Yelp
The service was 100% terrible. The bartender was very rude and had zero respect for paying customers. We usually like this bar but would never come back base on the service tonight.

Yelp
They have awesome beer here. We came down from riverside and toured the other breweries around this one and at the end we came right back. We bought some T-shirts and sweaters also. Their micheladas were the best!!!! If you're in the area you need to stop here. They Also give discounts to military and first respo

Yelp
Awesome place to be at on a Sunday! Stopped by for some beers with some friends for the first time. They have a great beer selection, board games AND a mariachi band!!!!!!!! They are so talented and great with the crowd. I saw multiple people crying because the band was so good. I think they have multiple events throughout the month so I hope to stop by again.

Yelp
I must of been living underneath a rock or something and not realized this place has been here for almost 2 years ?!?! Wow! Came in for a quick 20 minute round and chatted it up with Toni. Toni is fucking amazing !!! She is super knowledgeable and carries on a good conversation. The beer was great I think we shall be coming back here soon in the future
google avatar

Justine T.

Yelp
Basic, the seltzer was not worth it, expensive and watery The ambiance was very eh and not really a place to socialize. No music. And they had incense burning on a black burner that blended in with the bar and the ash was all over
google avatar

Ignacio S.

Yelp
Making my way back to LA from Tijuana and need it a place to refueled my beer belly and came across this cool spot. Cold beer and walkable to many local restaurants.

Yelp
Great craft beer, even better staff! Traveling out of town, thanks for making me feel at home!

Yelp

Yelp
I've been coming here for a while now and I can say I'm pretty happy to find a great bar that's not in my usual neighborhood. Drinks are always cold and delicious, the new "children of the fog" is great! Bathrooms are clean, staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and they have cool events throughout the week. I wish they would mix the food up every now and then, but can't complain too much when it's good bbq, I've just had everything on the menu already. Great beer, friendly service, clean facilities. I'll be back!

Michelle H.

Yelp
Cool spot... went on a Sunday, they had a band. Was pretty packed but the service was fast. Tried the honey lavender beer. Wow it was delicious... definitely wanna go back for more

Yelp
Chula Vista is the place is now the place to be. I really enjoy this brewery. The atmosphere, the beer, and staff all make for a great experience. I have come here multiple times and always enjoyed myself. Chill brewery, good beer, and friendly service. This brewery is located in downtown Chula Vista. There is only street parking, but it's never been an issue if you don't mind walking a bit or get lucky finding a close spot. There is plenty of seating, but can get pretty packed on a weekend and/or evening. There is a stage for a dj, band, and there is always some kind of music playing. There are table games for entertainment. On weekends and the occasional evening there has been a food truck that parks out front. This brewery doesn't serve food, but they allow you to bring outside food in. There is merchandise for purchase, and restrooms available. The beer is good here. I enjoy their blonde called Guerita. It has a crisp fresh taste, and tends to run out. South Bay is another good beer I enjoy, that is also on the lighter side. The prices are reasonable, and they have specials on certain days and times. ( I usually miss them) The beer is good and cold, the servers are friendly, and the vibe is pretty laid back and chill. Chula Vista has many other breweries in the area/ on the same street, but if you have to choose one, come here.

Yelp
Such delicious food and drinks. Very impressed with this establishment. I was very happy to visit this establishment recently, and I was not disappointed. They have excellent customer service. The employees are super friendly and help me decide on what items to get. The atmosphere was very cool, modern, and very clean. I was very impressed with the large selection of delicious food items. The food and drinks that we ordered, we're very delicious and highly recommended. Definitely will be coming back soon with my family and friends. Do not miss out on this awesome business in town. A++++ service all the way. Five stars all the way! Highly, highly recommended! Support a local business!

Yelp
Really enjoyed our time at the Chula Vista Brewery. We got a couple drinks, played some Jenga, vibed out to the DJ, who was spinning old school soul classics - on vinyl!! Thy have pinball and a cornhole patio in the back Good shit. If I was a local, I'd definitely hang out here

Yelp
IF THE BAR TABLES ARE POORLY CONSTRUCTED OR UNEVEN, CV BREWERY WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND REPLACE YOUR BEER. Stopped in with my wife and brother and ordered our beers. Selected a seat near the large windows. My wife placed her beer down on a dilapidated portion CV BREWERY's Bar/Table. The table had dents from a missing "unsound knot". As a result her beer fell, spilling on her before braking on the floor. Had it not been for a poorly constructed piece of furniture, I am confident this would have never occurred and the glass would have remained evenly place on the table. I then informed Mike the security guard and he immediately became dismissive about my claim and didn't hesitate to interrupt me as I was stating what had happened"right, right, right, right". Upon Mike arriving where the glass had broke, my wife related the same story to mike and she too was treated the same way "right, right, right". Me and my wife were displeased with his lack of communication skills. I then notified the manager Alice (I think was the name), and informed her that a glass had broke due to the uneven portion of the table. After pointing out the poorly constructed table with the uneven surface and the missing knot, Alice appeared annoyed, underpaid and acted as if she didn't want to be there. When my wife made a reasonable and polite request to have her beer replaced, Alice stated "no"and related it was frowned upon due to their company policy. Attached are some photos that depicts the CO diction of the table that I was referring to. Wife's beer "Belgian Ale Glass": $3.99 CV Brewery Beer: $5.00 TOTAL:$9.00 My beer from CV Brewery: $5.00 + Projected refills had a reasonable request been granted and we stayed: 4 TOTAL: $25.00 Brother's beer CV Brewery: $5.00 + Projected refills had a reasonable request for a replacement beer been granted and we stayed: 4 TOTAL: $25.00 $59.00-$9.00= $50 not bad for owning up to bad furniture fail and solving a reasonable request from paying customers who can appreciate great service. Unfortunately great service is not what we received so we were inclined to take our money elsewhere for the evening.

Yelp
I moved out of state for a 'change of pace' a few years ago (pro tip: going from LA to Oregon is a terrible idea and consider this the sign you've been looking for to NOT do this if you've been considering it), and my parents retired and moved out of state to Arizona. We're VERY close and, needless to say, we don't get to see each other as often as we would like anymore. When we do get to meet up, my dad and I have a tradition of checking out local breweries, and I always try and get us matching shirts. I promise this is getting somewhere relevant... We met up and hung out in SD area for a few days, and during that time we got to check out the breweries down in Chula Vista. Long story short, Chula Vista Brewery was our favorite. It had a great vibe, the people working were all super nice and the beer was hands down the best out of the handful of places we visited. I got an IPA and he got a blonde, I think. When I went to check out their merch selection, I noticed a blue shirt with hop vines wrapped around a Navy anchor. This was perfect because my dad spent a lot of his time in the Navy in SD area, and it's something he looks back on very fondly. So to be able to combine his proud Navy veteran status, a place that he has so many great memories of AND our brewery shirt tradition was like the freaking holy trinity of win to me. They were unfortunately sold out at the time, and I left my number with manager Chris in case they somehow found one. I've worked in the brewery/bar industry for a while and honestly figured he would forget about it in like a week because there's so much that goes on in a place like that, but he didn't. As soon as they came back in stock he contacted me and told me they'd be happy to ship it up. Elise was working behind the counter when I went in and was so helpful the entire time. She seriously went above and beyond. I really appreciated it because I felt like I was being such a pain trying to find the last shirt they had, but she couldn't have been more patient and polite about it. She also followed up with me on instagram to let me know they had it again; once again, I'm so impressed that she remembered. I know I probably looked like an insane woman desperately trying to buy this ONE shirt, but it really means the world to me that they reached out when it was back in stock and are willing to ship it up to me. I love my dad so much, and this is just our "thing" that we do when we have the rare opportunity to spend time together. So it's more about having a tangible memory than it is having another shirt in the closet. Anyways, I highly recommend CV Brewery. Not just because of the shirt I just wrote an essay about. Elise and Chris are awesome, the dudes working the front door are awesome, the beer is the best in town, and you're walking distance to every other spot worth going to on a Friday night. I'll definitely be back - hopefully this time I'll actually be living there instead of visiting.

Yelp
Chula Vista Brewery's beer makes Miller Light seem like a heavy, flavorful beer. Tried out all of their beers on tap, and there was only one beer that was barely acceptable. Meh.

Yelp
Chula Vista Brewery, which just opened in May 2017 on Third Avenue, was recently joined by its new neighbor across the street, 3 Punk Ales. They seem both slightly out of place among the cinciniera stores and yet perfectly at home in their neighborhood. Although it is just four miles to Bay Bridge Brewing, the only other craft brewery in the immediate area, it seems a world away. On Third Avenue you are in a bustling "main street" sort of area that has life and energy, rather than tucked away in an industrial park. Chula Vista Brewery is in an older building, to which they have added big windows opening to the street. There is quite a lot of seating at tables, though the bar only has six or seven stools. The brewing system is slightly hidden away in the back but is still visible from the main room. It isn't the most polished place I've seen in terms of interior design but it is perfectly comfortable. They aren't trying to be anything more than a tasting room. And they do the tasting room thing really well. Customer service is excellent: I had a nice time chatting with Liz, the beertender/assistant manager, and she gave me a free bag of pretzels (not to mention a couple of extra splashes of beers I didn't include in my flight). The beer menu includes ten varieties at the moment. Flights of four are served in a metal basket to which they clip a list of the beers you ordered. I enjoyed the beer. Since the place is new, there is room to dial in a few things still, but you can tell the brewer has plenty of experience (he has formerly worked at Rock Bottom and Ballast Point) and that the beer quality will be high. I look forward to seeing how this neighborhood and this brewery develop. Things are off to a good start. I am on a quest to visit every brewery and tasting room in San Diego.

Yelp
Went to the grand opening for Eastlake. It's a great spot, the beer is great, great happy hour pricing, the food is good (EXPENSIVE) but the seating sucks!! They have like grade school lunchroom seating. Could only tolerate staying for two beers and a meal. Regular tables and bar stool seating I think would work better but I'm just (1) customer. Definitely worth trying out and of course supporting a local veteran owned business.

Yelp
When Chula Vista has its first brewery!?? Nice!, We locals need this... It was very packed with nowhere to really sit but then again we went the weekend of soft opening. Not really many selections going on, when you only have four beers on tap. I was kinda upset they didn't have more beer styles to choose from, like a stout or porter. The beer itself I rate like a 2.5 star... The highest percent was a 6.5% and that was the saturation IPA. Overall they were solid beers with ok character but nothing outstanding, aroma was minimal. I love the fact how they have different food vendors each day though. The day we went we tried Enchilamesta out. We ordered a huarache to try out, with the spicy salsa. It was very good.. I Highly recommend you order it. Well I will be back because I just found out on cinco de mayo they came out with a stout and a new IPA so I'm excited to try it out. Overall I'm very excited for our Chula Vista community, its growing so much with great spots to finally get some good beer! Yay!

Yelp
Great local craft micro brewery here in downtown Chula Vista! Chula Vista Brewery is everything a great little local brewery should be... Good Beers, Friendly People, great space to hang out and chat, play board games or just people watch down the old school main street area of Chula Vista.
