"Chullpi Chullpi is a top choice for haute cuisine Peruvian-style. Its chefs insist on Cuzco -adjacent ingredient sourcing that supports local economies, at the same time keeping traditional dishes like cuy (a regional guinea pig species) relevant through contemporary iterations. The flavors are fabulous and the presentation winningly incorporates local history, such as using a serving dish carved to look like the circular terraces at Moray or presenting a pressed guinea pig on skewers over a small fire made of palo santo , a local incense. Portion sizes can be small—the perfect excuse to order more."

We had a large group and Yubia our server was fantastic. Always had a smile and very attentive to our needs. Food was amazing - mushroom pasta. The chips with white sauce was a nice complementary touch to the table. Seating upstairs with a great view of this quaint town. Definitely recommend.

Ordered the pasta with mushrooms. Decent portion. Really tasty. There was a piece of a toothpick that somehow ended up in my food? Luckily I didnt choke on it. I told my server and she checked with the kitchen and apparently it was missed in the mushroom prep? They offered to make it again - but I had almost finished the dish… They gave me a free ice cream dessert instead. Prices are really high in Aguascalientes, servers are attentive and really great. Portions are good. Train passes by ever so often and it gets a little loud.

I honestly didn’t expect much from restaurants in Aguas Calientes, but Poncho’s Peruvian Kitchen completely surprised me. The food here is amazing. I got the Andean ceviche and a steak plate, and both were perfect. The ceviche was sooo good that I literally sent photos to my friends back home while I was eating it. Our server, Yubia, was super helpful and made great recommendations. She wants you to have a good experience. Everything tasted fresh and authentic, and the presentation was beautiful. Definitely one of the best meals I’ve had in Peru so far. If you’re in Aguas Calientes, you have to stop here. Photos for proof!

We visited this restaurant after Machu Picchu and it was the perfect way to end the day. The cocktails were delicious, food was mesmerising and the service from Gionella was best of all. She showed us the proper way to eat cuy for the first time - thank you!!

We had a wonderful evening at Ponchos Peruvian Kitchen with friends, and the experience was truly memorable. The food was delicious and thoughtfully prepared, with several standout dishes that delighted our palettes. The presentation was inviting, and the ambiance struck the perfect balance between warm and lively. The drinks were beautiful and crafted with care, adding an extra layer of joy to the evening. Service was attentive and friendly, with staff consistently going above and beyond. A special shout-out to Carmen Rosa, our waitress for the night—she was incredibly professional, welcoming, and made us feel right at home. Overall, Ponchos Peruvian Kitchen is a fantastic choice in Machu Picchu for an enjoyable night out—highly recommended for great food, warm atmosphere, and engaging live entertainment. We left with full bellies and big smiles, and we’re looking forward to returning.

Best service we’ve had in Peru ! Best meal we’ve had in Peru too. Our waitress Stefani was so nice and offered us many recommendations! I tried the alpaca skewer based on her recommendation but my friends got the dried beef short ribs and the alpaca fungi pasta. All of it was absolutely delicious. Also tried the andino ceviche. I recommend trying the pisco sour as well because it comes with a cute picture on top.

Excellent dinner from start to finish. The ceviche was bright and fresh, the lomo saltado perfectly seared, and the pisco sours spot-on. What truly made the night special was our server, Estefani. She welcomed us warmly, guided us through the menu with great recommendations, timed everything flawlessly, and checked on us just when we needed her—always with a genuine smile. Thanks to Estefani’s attentive, professional care, we felt looked after the entire evening.

Sat on the 2nd floor here and loved the vibe! The food was good - ordered their Trucha a la Parilla and it was nothing amazing, but still enjoyed it. They give you complimentary chips while you wait for your meal. Had a passion fruit drink and it was a bit sour but tolerable.
