"At Chung’dam in Soho, the steam box steals the show. The three-tiered box has layers of meaty prawns, soft mussels, and thinly sliced beef brisket, and our favourite part of the whole thing is the warming peppery noodles that are cooked in the hot pot at the end. The Korean restaurant is a fancy-feeling, calm spot—all minimalist beige walls and foliage dotted around—where the high-quality ingredients match the price tag. Get the pajeon too, which is some of the crispiest in London." - rianne shlebak, sinead cranna, jake missing, daisy meager

Lovely service with friendly staff who can speak Korean. Gave us great advice on which wines were the best paired with our meals and kept us topped up throughout our visit. Also called us back when I forgot my scarf there. Food is amazing but portions are quite small - something often practised by high end restaurants, good quality food but lesser portion sizes. I love the wine that we were recommended by the amazing waitress.

Stumbled across this restaurant while I was looking for the 'best Korean bbq place in London'. We decided to order the 'Pyeonbaek Steam Box', which we regretted. It has a nice concept but not satisfying at all, and we were still hungry after and it was very expensive. We also ordered the 'Chungdam Bulgogi' and the 'Cold Kimchi' noodles. And were still hungry... The meat was very tasty, while the cold kimchi noodles were fine. So my recommendation would be to ORDER MEAT!!!! However, to be full you might have to spend a lot of money. Overall the restaurant has a nice atmosphere and very sweet staff, nice quality but overpriced.

Korean approved!!!! I’m South Korean and this place is super authentic. Probs the most authentic korean place i’ve ever been in the UK. Took my mum and she approved too. The quality of meat is sensational. Homemade kimchi and namuls are amazing as well. Craft beer is very smooth and nice. Highly recommend Prime Marinated Short Ribs with Spring onion in chungdam dressing and spicy cold noodles.

An upscale Korean restaurant with some good quality meat cuts. The Beef Brisket was particularly tasty and tender, which I don't see in many Korean grill places in London. But the Beef Tongue was so thin which was a little upsetting. The Beef Tartar was delicious as well as the Beef Jeon. Loved a lot of the house-made sauces and condiments. I went during soft launch and unfortunately they were short of staff that day. Nevertheless, they were friendly and apologetic. Prices are higher, and portions are smaller compared to most Korean grills in London. But you can decide whether you'd go for quantity or quality. UPDATE: Visited again in June 2024, tried their £95 seafood steam box this time but was left hugely disappointed. There is very little room for error when it comes to seafood quality here, as steaming can't mask flavours, glad they were nice and succulent. However, they were all so small, definitely not the grade expected at this price. The quantity of seafood and beef also did not justify the price tag, the majority were leafy vegetables and beansprouts (very low-cost veggie). The pairing sauces did not complement the seafood, they were in fact strange pairings considering we thoroughly enjoyed the sauces for the BBQ. We were a group of 4 so of course we ordered other dishes including BBQ. I would recommend sticking with that here. You're paying a little extra but the meat and sauces were of great quality. The service was excellent and attentive, which kind of made up for the overall experience.

The place was spacious and service was amazing. They are Very attentive to the needs of the costumers. Ordered steam box which was very disappointing. Not worth the price. Would love it if they serve it more with meat and seafoods rather than those leafy vegetables. Other food servings was small for the price. I’ve been to many korean restaurants and I think this is the most expensive one and not worth it.

Authentic Korean BBQ place with great service, but pricey. We went there after a long gym session so we were starving. Ordered seafood pancake as a starter - I don't usually like salty food but even I found it too bland. We had pork belly, salted chicken thigh and bulgogi for BBQ. All meats were fresh and juicy, but the portions were not large. The waitress did all the grilling for us so we didn't have to lift a finger. The spring onion side was surprisingly delicious and went perfectly well with the meat. I really wish they'd serve more lettuce (it's 4 pieces for £4). We also had beef soup. The soup came with purple rice. It has plenty of beef and radish in it. I found it a bit too spicy but acceptable with rice. The meal cost is £95 in total. Tbh we ordered a bit too much for two girls, but we managed to finish 90% of the food since most of the dishes were not very large.

Delicious Korean BBQ and Squid Salad here with friendly service and a nice setting with chilled music. Really enjoyed the food here - squid salad was a particular standout for starters as well as the seafood pancakes. We had three BBQ items - ribeye, pork and bbq chicken and all were cooked at the table and delicious. Only downside was that I wish they refilled the tap water a little. I really recommend this place.

Recommend this restaurant! First of all, the environment is very atmospheric and the barbecue service is very good! The food is also delicious! Recommendation 1. Hot stone beef Bibimbap (the best I have ever eaten, the mushrooms are very juicy, the beef is raw at first but will become cooked later, it is quite delicious, it is paired with purple rice, a very healthy food) 2. Beef jeon is a creative dish. Egg liquid is wrapped around a whole piece of beef, and it is served with special dipping sauce. It is quite delicious and not greasy at all! 3. Spicy beef soup with radish, the radish is very tasty and my friends and I like it very much! Apart from this, we have tried very few BBQs and will come again!
