The classic churreria with tiles you’ve probably seen all over Instagram, and iconic whirlwind-shaped churros.

Wow wow wow!!! This place never ceases to amaze me. Just amazing in some many ways. Recommend. It’s all good especially the churros with Spanish style chocolate

Google
Wow, you definitely need to go here for Churros. Churros are really long so ordering 4 of them should get you full. The chocolate and caramel dipping sauces were excellent. I recommend drinking the remaining chocolate sauces from the little cups after eating your churros. Located near a very nice park.

Google
Yes to churros, yes to their horchata water and yes to their jamaica water. All tasty, all good. Outdoor seating is good to people watch but it's right on the walkway, endless line for people offering things for sale. Indoor seating is more chill.

Google
Came to this Churrería El Moro location a few times during our trip. The location was great; a perfect place to sit outdoors or inside to enjoy a churro. Also a great place to go after a date night. Churros were fantastic. Highly recommend getting the moritos for smaller bites to share.

Google
You cannot go wrong with these churros. Perfect spot for anybody, from kids to seasoned travelers.

Google
Best churros I ever had hands down !! Dipped in the frances drink on their menu and it tasted even better. They ran out of chocolate and had condensed milk sauce only which tasted ok. Worth the hype.

As you can see in the photos and videos this place has been open since 1935. The hot chocolate is to die for, and the churros are fresh and hot!!! I added a couple of videos to prove it. We went on a Saturday night and had to wait almost an hour for a table. Believe me it is worth the wait, BUT, if you can't wait or want to slurp and walk the the park across the street it's about a 20-30 minute wait in line. We had the Español hot chocolate and our friends had the Mexican chocolate. We share a dozen churros between us for 297 pesos.

Google
When the line to a place is out the door from 9am until 9pm you know they are on to something! I’ve had churros before but this was like being teleported back to 1935 and tasting the original for the first time. Add in the condensed milk dip and an unreal hot chocolate ☕️, the perfect after dinner spot for all!

Yelp
Make sure you come here when the cafe is not empty! The churros are way better fresh so you don't want them to be left sitting around/ cold. We tried el Moro three times and unfortunately the first time was disappointing as the cafe was empty and the churro has clearly been sitting for a bit. We decided to give it another chance and the fresh churro is definitely way better. Each churro is pretty big so two people can easily share one churro. I also recommend getting the dip to go with it!

Yelp
THE BIG: Churreria located in the Condesa neighborhood of CDMX. Big indoor space along with limited outdoor space however you get a nice big park outside where you can walk off the excess calories you consumed. Limited street parking available. THE BLACK AND WHITE: We came here on a Friday night and was craving some churros. Fortunately there's a Churrerria (place that specializes in churros) nearby us and we walked in. It was packed for a Friday night, however the line moved quickly. Inside was hot with no AC so be prepared for that. Otherwise, it's cooler to stand outside with Parque Mexico and all it's green lushness. We got the 3 consuelitos which is churro ice cream sandwiches. They looked vibey, but eating wise, it was meh. The churros are too small and round and they didn't have the same aura as a regular straw churro. Ice cream was alright. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall the damage done was around 100 MXN for the three churro consuelitos. Very delicious, however if I were to revisit, I'd just go for the churros.

Yelp
I'll start by admitting I may have made some rookie mistakes here: A) I got the very last pieces at the bottom of the batch that had been sitting out for who knows how long. There was a guy in front of me that insisted I go before him. I thought he was being nice, but in retrospect I think he was waiting for the next batch. B) We walked 15 minutes back to the hotel before we dug in. So I think a combo of A and B resulted in cold, hard churros. The dipping sauces didn't add much to them either. Lesson learned: I would give them another try if I knew they're fresh and I'm eating them right away. Otherwise, don't bother...the next morning they were even worse. Basically inedible and we tossed them.

Yelp
Yummy treat . Service is fast . I grabbed 1to go huge, one is perfect . There's two lines one for ordering and pick up. Sit down is available. Open late. Mostly trendy but churros are always a delicious treat. These are crunchy not soft in the inside so Ask for a fresh one I recommend with guava or condensed milk dip.

Yelp
Cutest little churreria with such gorgeous indoor decor. We ordered a combo of churros and hot chocolate and got some coffees to go with them The churros were freshly coated, and crispy with the perfect texture The service was fast and prices were amazing. Loved this spot

Yelp
OMG, best churros ever! I'm usually not a big fan of churros, but since Mexico is known for them, I decided to give this place a try. When I went in the evening, there was a line inside the shop, and many people were buying large batches of churros. They had two flavors: cinnamon and white sugar. I went with cinnamon. Watching the kitchen staff expertly make the churros was impressive, and the freshly made, warm churros were so good! If you visit, I highly recommend eating them right after buying for the best experience!

Yelp
Legendary Mexico City churros since 1935. Definitely some of the freshest and best churros on the planet! I've had churros at the most famous place in Madrid and several other countries and these rate at the top; so fresh and amazing. You can watch them being made through the window. Super cordial and nice service. They offer table service or you can order at the indoor window and take your churros to a table. All kinds of dipping sauces, milk shakes (I tried the special fresh strawberry shake as a combo with 4 churros), Mexican hot chocolate (hot or iced!) and the churros can come with sugar or cinnamon sugar (or you can request a mixed bag). They have indoor seating and it's very clean and with a fun vibe, all in white. But I really love the outdoor seating and it's in a beautiful part of the city with lots of greenery and trees. Totally recommended for a visit to CDMX!

Yelp
The churros are really delicious. They're light, crispy and freshly fried. I paired mine with the sweetened condensed milk dipping sauce. It was great. The staff was really friendly too. High recommended.

Yelp
Worth the wait and maybe getting one additional churro for the road. These churros are crispy and light yet somehow still fluffy in the middle. Probably the best churro I've ever had! What really wowed me with this churro was it was greasy in the bag but didn't feel oily at all! Would love to come back and try the specialty flavors!
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious and crispy churros! A must visit in CDMX. Love that they were warm and freshly dusted with cinnamon sugar. Wouldn't get the chocolate sauce again though, as it was more sugary and grainy than chocolate-y. And the churros were plenty sweet on their own without a sauce. When I visited after dinner, the line was all the way to the door but it moved quickly. There are many locations of this so stop by the closest one to you!
google avatar

Yelp
Churros! Who doesn't love them? But churros freshly made, rolled in sugar, and potentially made into a mango ice cream sandwich, that's a whole other story. This cute and aesthetically pleasing cafe is worth a try. Service could use a smile and some fine tuning, but hey, the churros made up for it!
google avatar

Ashley Y.

Yelp
El Moro has such a great vibe! I did plenty of research before coming, and while the churros themselves weren't anything extraordinary, the experience made it worth. We sat outside dipping our churros into the "Mexicano" hot chocolate. Now that was the real star--thick, rich, and clearly not made with just water. One cup was plenty for the four of us to sip and dip.
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful churro spot that we visited multiple times. Located adjacent to one of the most beautiful parks in Mexico City. Each one is pretty filling. Chocolate and caramel dips were both delicious toppings. We enjoyed the sugar and the Cinnamon. You can choose one or both on your churro.
google avatar

Yelp
If you're in the area you need to stop by Churrería El Morro. The churros were amazing (get a consuelo). Great service! Carmen was incredibly nice and helpful. Very cute spot and great ambiance!
google avatar

Sarah L.

Yelp
A cute and popular spot for churros. The menu was extensive but I wanted something small and with ice cream. They also had mango as their seasonal ice cream flavor so I opted for the mini churro sandwiches so I could get mango and strawberry along with chocolate. I would totally go back again to try actual churros along with a darker and thicker hot chocolate. This time I wanted something light to drink after my dinner and the vegan hot chocolate hit the spot with satisfying my sweet cravings without being too heavy.
google avatar

Gloria G.

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and pick up an order of churros, grab one of each dipping sauce, hot chocolate and sit at the park across to people or dog watch. A perfect Mexican afternoon
google avatar

Jennifer V.

Yelp
Churros made fresh with a perfect crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Restroom was not working when we were there. The churros themselves are pretty long and they were 13 pesos each! I could honestly eat one every day. Consistent between locations.
google avatar

Yelp
Magic that comes in small, fried sticks doused with sugar and cinnamon. Served in a cute storefront the opens up onto the Hippodromo like a spring flower opening up to the season's first bees. Food was great. Service was solid. Eating churros in the cute interior while we watched the park was magical. Can't go wrong with Churreria El Moro!

Yelp
We waited in line for a good twenty minutes before we could place our order, and it was well worth the wait. I've probably been here a handful of times, and it's true, the place really is that popular. With just a couple of days into the new year, we already needed to have our fix of the church's pure deliciousness. We ordered the same thing as last time, which was the church's combo that included 8 church's and two hot chocolates. They were fast at preparing the church's ND hot chocolates, and only challenge tonight was making it thru the long line to actually place the order. The temperature outside was also noticeable cooler, but we were determined. We had enjoyable walk home sipping on the hot chocolates and munching down some fresh churros!

Yelp
Churros are delicious, crispy and sweet! Traditional hot chocolate is tasty with a touch of cinnamon. Service is non existent. You pay them wait in line to pick up your food. It appears they don't have a system where they anticipate who has ordered because you give them your ticket after you pay, then they prepare your order. It's almost a minute wait per churro sold! A little ridiculous! Very inefficient. Would I come back? If I was ever really craving a churro but probably not! They were warm enough for all that waiting!

Yelp
Take a gorgeous walk through the gardens of Condesa neighborhood to get to this El Moro location. The churros were hot, sugary and cinnamon-y, but the chocolate and duce de leche sauces were just meh for me. The hot chocolate had been overcooked and the scorched bits ended up in my to-go cup. It was hard to tell if it was a great tasting hot chocolate to begin with. Just then, a local churro vendor walked by carrying a stack of churros on their head and I briefly entertained chasing after them to compare for this review. I shall conduct more churro research on my next trip to CDMX.

Yelp
Upon arriving to Mexico, my friend and I had been fiending for some churro and managed to google and locate this churreria that seemingly had a few different locations across the city. After making the trek to come here, we ordered a bag of churros and hot chocolate and were extremely disappointed. The churros were not fresh, soaked in oil from getting cold, they didn't even bother to put fresh batter into the fryer for our order which I think is appalling for a place that only serves churros. And we were like the only customers there so it's not like they should have bags of churros ready to go in preparation for a rush. Chocolate was a lot thinner than I was hoping and was nothing special. Overall super disappointed with our order and suggest you are better off getting a churro off the street for a fraction of the costs.

Yelp
Stopped by this churro spot during my visit in CDMX. Churros were delicious and fresh. I like mine the OH way with no dipping sauce. but they have different sauces for dipping if thats your thing.
google avatar

Marc P.

Yelp
It is going to be hard for any churro spot to compete with my wonderful childhood memories of going to Old Town (in San Diego), and after visiting the toy store Geppetto's walking next door to it to get some delicious hot churros from a small vendor there. In my opinion, the Churros at this El Moro were good, but for me they were not worth the long wait....and we went there when the line was short (the night prior the line had been twice as long and we walked away). I enjoyed them, but I enjoyed the other desserts at other restaurants in Mexico City much more....and they didn't have me standing in line for 15-20 minutes to get my food. :)

Yelp
A must if you want churros in Mexico City. My 2 friends and I shared 12 churros but it was way too much. The churros are pretty long so realistically I think only 1-2 are good for 1 person. The hot chocolate was good, not my favorite kind but if you like a thick and rich type of hot chocolate then it's for you. The service we experienced was so good. I really liked the torta I got. It was small enough for a quick meal. It was pretty messy but I like messy food. I wasnt too crazy about it. The meat was a darker shade and it was a little gamey. Diana was working and she was attentive and kind even though we didn't speak the same language. I would for sure come back if I'm ever back in CDMX.
google avatar

Deisy R.

Yelp
I'd heard so many great things about this place and was super excited to try it but sadly I was not impressed. We didn't know that there was an option to order at a table, so we waited in line and ordered 4 churros, an iced americano and 2 tortas. The churros came out super quickly but we waited an extra 20 minutes for our tortas and had to keep going back to the line because they wouldn't call our our order out loud. The iced Americano has been waiting for us at the counter for 10 minutes. The churros in my opinion, were just okay.
google avatar

Adan V.

Yelp
The place was packed when we got there, but we were able to get a seat really quick. Churros were great, as were the Español chocolate. Ambiance was nice too, as it felt very friendly and the place had a European vibe to it.
google avatar

Shreya B.

Yelp
This place was worth the hype. I only removed a star because I wanted the chocolate sauce and they didn't have any. We ordered two dipping sauces (caramel and condensed milk) and the 4 churros. We also got 2 chocolates (de agua and the original). Would definitely go again!
google avatar

Huyen C.

Yelp
We kept really wanting to find a churro stand on the side of the rode, but no luck! We stopped at this famous place and it definitely didn't disappoint. You can order to go, but the waitress said service was faster if you sat down, which was not accurate. Place was clean, vibe was cool and quiet. Plenty of indoor/outdoor seating. They ask if you want dipping sauce (caramel, condense milk, chocolate) that do cost extra. Churros were yummy, I wish they were thicker/fatter. Churros were super hot and we enjoyed the light snack. Paid our bill and were a little annoyed the lady asked for a tip making it awkward. Definitely worth a try.

Yelp
Every one was great with beautiful smiles and food was so yummy I will always remember when I visit again
google avatar

Lisa O.

Yelp
Do not skip out on this place. If you were thinking of coming just go! The churros here are so fresh. We got the 4 churros and it was long! We also got hot chocolate and caramel dip for it. Best decision ever. 5/5 for me!
google avatar

Maggie Y.

Yelp
Check to make sure they freshly churned out churros before ordering! If nothing is coming out of the deep fryer most likely the churros are cold and stale! I like the location in Reforma instead coz it's busier location! And nonstop churro churning out of the fryer!

Preeti K.

Yelp
This place was hopping in the morning & after dinner. The churros were delicious as were the mini churro ice cream sandwiches! They also gave out free samples of Mexican hot chocolate while we were waiting in line to pick up our order! I highly recommend this place & hope to go back before we leave Mexico City!
google avatar

Jes T.

Yelp
Fresh hot churros- yes please!!! We waited on line for 20 minutes but it was totally worth it!
google avatar

Alexa T.

Yelp
A must-have during any trip to CDMX. Beautiful interior and delicious churros and hot chocolates.
google avatar

Lakisha A.

Yelp
So I've only had Churros in Cuba and they were delish! And we'll my second Churro experience here in Mexico City, did not disappoint!! My Goodness this has me wanting about churro-ice cream sandwich which paired perfectly with the iced coffee. Y'all, they even have vegan options!!
google avatar

Matthew A.

Yelp
Worth the wait in line. It's pretty tight inside, so I'd recommend enjoying on a walk. Open relatively late too (11p on a friday). You HAVE to try the hot chocolate with your churros.
google avatar

Juan F.

Yelp
For a business that specializes in one thing, Churreria El Moro does a great job. Due to Covid-19 restrictions the line seemed extra long to get inside and order, but it went rather quickly. This location is also in the Condesa are which is really enjoyable and the people watching in line was fun. We ordered eight churros, an horchata shake and Mexican hot chocolate. We were also fortunate enough to score a sidewalk table. Churros were crunchy, a bit over fried, but nothing that dipping them in hot chocolate can't fix. In fact the extra crunch of the churros went really well with the hot chocolate. They give you an option to sprinkle sugar or sugar and cinnamon on your churros. We went with sugar and cinnamon. Next time, maybe just sugar.

Brandon F.

Yelp
It was generally good, but the churros were a bit stale and the coffee was pretty bad
google avatar

Stefanie C.

Yelp
I know what would have made this a 5-star experience for me... if I'd gotten a churro ice cream sandwich!! My friends and I came here after dinner at Comedor de los Milagros. One of us waited in the insanely long line for the group's churros while the rest of us walked around the park. Such a beautiful location. The look of this Churrería contributes to the aesthetic. We got a few full-sized churros with chocolate dipping sauce. I wasn't too keen on the caramel. We sat in a plaza nearby and enjoyed the messy sweet treat. So good! Thin and crispy. I'd love to come back and enjoy this with a cup of coffee or another beverage like an horchata shake!? Writing this is making me crave churros now. Check it out--worth the wait!!
google avatar

Bernadette M.

Yelp
Super long line on a Sunday night. If you have more folks in your party, have one order and the other stand in the pick up line. They also have delivery companies picking up and can go straight to the front of the line. They had several offerings but we stuck with the churros. It took us almost an hour to order and pick up four churros, two cream sauces and 1 chocolate. They were tasty, warm and crispy. Review #32 of 100 in 2023.
google avatar

Neesh S.

Yelp
Believe the Hype! Super delicious Churros. Crunchy on the outside, soft on the side, sweet and cinnamony. We did get the Classic Chocolate too but I didn't think it was for me.
google avatar

Brett M.

Yelp
This churro stop and cafe is always busy with a line, for good reason. Can order churros with caramel dipping sauce, condensed milk, or chocolate, all of which will leave you wanting more. It is right in the heart of La Condesa, visited by both locals and tourists--definitely recommend.
google avatar

Morris R.

Yelp
More of a fun experience than anything else. Not mind blowing but solid churros and chocolate. Felt like going back in time to a point where wholesome goodness drew crowds.
google avatar

Patricia C.

Yelp
Came here twice during our 5-day trip (would have come more if it wouldn't put a tremendous amount of weight on haha!), so worth it!!! Be sure to drop by for a quick snack :) There are lots of locations, I'm sure they're all great. Super simple but cute decor, and they have some nice outdoor seating as well. Not sure if this is what it's like when it's busy, but after we ordered, instead of waiting to pick it up, they actually delivered our order to our seats. These churros are unbelievably affordable - you can get an order of 4 for MX$24. You can pick cinnamon sugar or regular sugar. If you want a dip (chocolate or condensed milk), they are MX$10 each - I thought these could be more flavorful but it's nice to cut the dryness with a dip regardless. The churros are just right in terms of consistency, crunchy on the outside and not dry on the inside :). I have to come back sometime soon for more, and try out their ice cream sandwiches!!!
google avatar

Ann P.

Yelp
A cute spot for free churros with a hot beverage. We are completely spoiled having had the best churros in Seville, Spain so cannot lie and said these were amazing..they weren't but it was a fun spot to sip hot chocolate outside and people watch...
google avatar

Daryl S.

Yelp
This place is a must! It's one of those iconic places that seems to always have a line at night and on the weekends, but it moves pretty quickly. I go the Condesa which is a churro ice cream sandwich and I got it with the Oreo ice cream. First of all, the sandwich is really big. I wish they would give you a spoon to eat it with because it's not really something you can just bite into. The Oreo ice cream was some of the best I have ever had. There were giant chunk of Oreos in it! The churros were crunchy on the outside and the cinnamon sugar paired well with the ice cream. Definitely need to go back to try their regular churros!

C S.

Yelp
This was the best churro Ive ever had and I love churros. Do not leave CDMX without stopping at El Moro. The churros are fantastic plain and over the top with a sauce. So good, enjoy!
google avatar

Katie S.

Yelp
The line says it all. El Moro is a key place to hit when in CDMX...they have many options and the line moves quickly.
