Yelp
First visit here, and we had high hopes based on the stellar score this place has on Yelp! Lots local love means I won't hesitate to stop by!
First, the food truck & accompanying seating area were KYOOT! And the gentleman who took our order was nice & helpful. GREAT!
My honey ordered the "Date night" + Goats milk caramel, and I got the Campfire w/ that same caramel for mine (plus a scoop-o-vanilla cuz it's already damn near 100 degree days around here...!).
Our order was ready in short order, and we grabbed a picnic table for the scene of the sugary debauchery that was about to ensue...
And then, I meannnnnn honestly.... if I hadn't already tried the churros @ Los Galanes (which is just down the street from here), I might have been kinder here? Maybe? It was just kinda... not worth it.
I was disappointed in what was in front of me. The plate looked good initially, but a few bites in, it became apparent that these churros were either overcooked and/or the oil was too hot. The outside was nearly burnt-dark, and there was no inner filling to accentuate the churro itself. The inside was almost doughy. I even went back to my photos of Los Galanes to compare & attached the photo.
Left-side is Churro (this place). Fancy toppings, 2 long (overcooked & unstuffed) churros w/ upcharged Goats milk caramel sauce [that was thin & runny]).
Right-side is Los Galanes churros (golden brown + come with [thick] Goats milk caramel (you wouldn't know it's not cow's milk, ok? But it's DIVINE).
Idk, I think we're better off a little further down 1st street based on flavor alone, but this wan't the best value-wise, either.
