10 Best Food Trucks in Austin

"Let’s be clear: Churro Co. does not cater to those on a diet. Serving churros piled high with Mexican chocolate sauce, toasted marshmallows, apple pie, or a la mode, this food truck is not for the faint of heart. Kids, families, couples, friends, yogis… No one is safe from this sweet-tooth’s heaven." - Jenna Scatena

Google
Delicious Churros! Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu! I really like campfire churros!

JANITA GREEN WILLIAMSON

Google
This place was so good we had to run it back the next day after dinner! Honestly, just get any churro option and add a scoop of ice cream & you’ll fall in love. “Date night” was my fav with the goat cheese caramel. My husband tried every sauce(he was standing on business lol) and that was his favorite as well. @churroco…feel free to add us as personal testers for any upcoming flavors haha

Google
Churro Co. in Austin is honestly a game changer. The churros are crispy, sweet, and just straight-up addictive. And the dips? So good. Once you have them, you’ll be back for more. It’s that kind of spot you just keep craving. Can’t recommend it enough!

Nicole Dang

Google
Very good. Glad we stopped by this food truck over a larger establishment when visiting Austin. Got the Date Night and the churros were so good. Personally I should’ve asked for less caramel sauce since I think everything is sweet enough. But dough is fluffy and perfect. Ice cream was creamy and delicious! Glad to support a local business and hope they continue to thrive.

Google
This place was great! The churros were delicious and fresh. Crispy on the outside, soft in the inside. The sweetness was just on point. The place has a perfect seating area that has shade and the seats and tables were clean. The service was fast as well.

Audrey González

Google
One of the best churros in Austin! 🙌 This place is fantastic. Churros are so fresh, crunchy and the sauces are tasty! They’re cooked to order and come out super hot. We rode our bikes there from downtown just to try them out.

Google
Probably the best churros I've ever had, and I've had a lot. The plain charros were excellent, very crunchy outside with a study middle, not too greasy and a nice mix of sugar and cinnamon. The Campfire churros were a step above with graham cracker dust, whipped cream, a scoop of vanilla and real roasted marshmallows. Simply amazing.

Zinnia Harper

Google
We got the Campfire! It was delicious, and got some strawberry sauce on the side. Perfection!

KJ G.

Yelp
The outside of the churros were crunchy and crispy. The inside was soft and gooey. We got Salted Carmel sauce and it was delicious. The churros were out hot and it took less than 5 minutes to get our food. Overall best churros I have ever had.

Yelp
Went here on a Saturday because someone else wanted churros. I honestly don't believe I have ever really had a churro before but I had a general idea of what to expect. The main highlights for me were as follows: 1. The texture contrast, crispy exterior yet soft interior. 2. Ice cream, was more so a french vanilla which is way better than a normal vanilla and complimented the churro excellently I also am happy with my decision to get the chocolate sauce as it certainly provided some additional moisture and flavor which I appreciated. Price was around 8-9 bucks which is not bad in this day and age where coffees are $8. Parking is a little tough with an entrance only big enough for one car so if someone is leaving, turning in will be difficult. Churros came out quick (5-8 min) and we sat outside at some picnic table which was great. Overall great spot for a unique sweet treat that is fresh and delicious.

Yelp
First visit here, and we had high hopes based on the stellar score this place has on Yelp! Lots local love means I won't hesitate to stop by! First, the food truck & accompanying seating area were KYOOT! And the gentleman who took our order was nice & helpful. GREAT! My honey ordered the "Date night" + Goats milk caramel, and I got the Campfire w/ that same caramel for mine (plus a scoop-o-vanilla cuz it's already damn near 100 degree days around here...!). Our order was ready in short order, and we grabbed a picnic table for the scene of the sugary debauchery that was about to ensue... And then, I meannnnnn honestly.... if I hadn't already tried the churros @ Los Galanes (which is just down the street from here), I might have been kinder here? Maybe? It was just kinda... not worth it. I was disappointed in what was in front of me. The plate looked good initially, but a few bites in, it became apparent that these churros were either overcooked and/or the oil was too hot. The outside was nearly burnt-dark, and there was no inner filling to accentuate the churro itself. The inside was almost doughy. I even went back to my photos of Los Galanes to compare & attached the photo. Left-side is Churro (this place). Fancy toppings, 2 long (overcooked & unstuffed) churros w/ upcharged Goats milk caramel sauce [that was thin & runny]). Right-side is Los Galanes churros (golden brown + come with [thick] Goats milk caramel (you wouldn't know it's not cow's milk, ok? But it's DIVINE). Idk, I think we're better off a little further down 1st street based on flavor alone, but this wan't the best value-wise, either.

Yelp
To die for churros!!! Came here on a Weds night at 9:50, right before they closed! I ordered the plain churros per my friend's experience and recommendation -- did not disappoint! These churros are the perfect balance of an outside fried crisp with a soft and fluffy center. I also ordered a salted caramel sauce on the side because I am a sucker for caramel, but honestly did not need it! My only regret was not getting one more order for my boyfriend to enjoy. The churros came out within 6-7 mins as promised and the service was wonderful! I really liked the cute camp style picnic tables and string lights..I would totally come here regularly if I lived in Austin. Definitely add this place to your list if you are visiting Austin! Also, one thing to note that hopefully will save you the trouble that I went through: this is the ONLY location and address. Apple maps shows another location on E 7th, but this is the OLD LOCATION and there is not in fact any churros there! Make sure you come to this location listed here in the yelp :)

Yelp
It's a run down food truck with mice scurrying around outside, but the service and churros are outstanding. Just don't get chocolate sprinkles...

Yelp
I would give this place 6 stars if I could. Why? Because I've never had a good churro before in my life, and Churro Co basically said "hold my beer". My wife was told about a s'mores and hot cocoa Facebook event that was going on here where you can buy s'mores and hot cocoa, so that's the original reason why we came. The thought of getting churros never entered my mind until coming here. After seeing someone pickup their order of these giant churros with ice cream on it, I knew I had to try. My wife and I decided on getting churros with some goat milk caramel sauce, and an apple soda float. Let's talk about the churros first: they were fresh, crunchy (but not overly so), and decked out with cinnamon and sugar. Just those by themselves were grade A level. Then add in the caramel and I had no words. Now on to the apple soda float: I was blown away. We all know what root beer floats are by now, so to have something completely different like this was a unique spin that I am super glad I tried. I should also mention the staff was nice too. The guy who took our order seemed friendly and approachable compared to other places I've gone to recently. Ok let's end this review by saying that YES you need to go. I don't care that the place is roughly 20-30 min away from where I live, because I'm going to go back again in the very near future. Thanks Churro Co for making me a churro lover now. One last thing: After eating it all, I stupidly realized that the napkins were up at the front so make sure to grab some to avoid super sticky fingers.

Yelp
I love this place! The churros are incredible and always made-to-order. They're very fast and friendly to boot! Perfect spot for an easy and quick dessert. They have lots of seating, too.
google avatar

Kira M.

Yelp
I was lucky enough to be able to visit again after nearly 5 years. This churro was better than I even remembered. It's honestly the best churro I've had in my entire life. It's so crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The cinnamon sugar sticks to the churro perfectly. It's just slightly oily, perfect really. Just get the plain churros, you won't regret it!
google avatar

Alanna Y.

Yelp
I got the Texas comfort and added a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Oh my sweet baby Jesus. It was delicious. The salted caramel apple pie filling paired splendidly with the cardamom cinnamon sugar. I would definitely go back to try another churro!
google avatar

Leah G.

Yelp
If you are looking for a casual, outdoor vibe for delicious desserts, this is your place! The churros are insanely good, served hot and crisp with a wide variety of toppings and/or dipping sauces. I recently went and had the traditional churros with dulce de leche, and they were fantastic. My husband ordered one of their specials, which was an order of churros with banana sugar, ice cream, and strawberry and chocolate sauce on top. Both were divine! The staff were very friendly despite the late hour, and apologized for being out of the frozen chocolate drink we had thought about getting. Overall, it was delicious and hit the spot. We will absolutely be back!
google avatar

Naomi S.

Yelp
I got the campfire churro, which was two churros coated in graham sugar with mexican chocolate sauce, toasted marshmallow, and whipped cream. I added ice cream and it was around $10 total. It was super delicious. Big enough to share for two people, but it was so good I ate it all in one setting lol. Parking is a little tight, but manageable.
google avatar

Diana G.

Yelp
This food truck hit the spot for a late night snack. Of course, they have churros. They also have ice cream. You can get specialty churro snacks. They also have root beer floats. If you want to eat there, they have a small sitting area. I went at 11 PM and it was pretty busy. I ordered just the traditional churros. They were perfection. They had right amount of cinnamon, sugar and crunch. It didn't take long to get my order ready either. It took about five minutes. Parking is limited. Staff was super friendly.
google avatar

Sean M.

Yelp
Came here for a s'mores event, but they blew my mind with their churros. I ain't kidding when I say I had never had a churro where I was like WOW this is good... until churro co. It was soft yet crispy. So much flavor. We didn't even get a fancy one, just the goat milk caramel dipping sauce but DANG even just with that it was amazing! Cute little sitting area in the back too. Oh and we also got their apple cider float bc we wanted to try something different. I was pleasantly surprised, as was my husband! We're big fans and def see ourselves returning even though it's all the way across town for us. YUM!
google avatar

Tinamarie R.

Yelp
Wow! If you like churros this is the place to be. It's a food truck with a small picnic area. Not much to it but boy does the food make up for it. The person taking the orders is super friendly and the food came out quickly even though there was a very long line. Very popular place on a Saturday afternoon. I had the peach cobbler churros and they were delicious!! Crunchy, warm and sweet.
google avatar

Jennifer G.

Yelp
I have this on my list for a while and I can say the churro is worth it but the fluff not. The added toppings, ice cream and whip cream take away from the churro alone. It was fresh crispy and flavorful. Next time I plan on just getting a churro alone.
google avatar

Valerie Q.

Yelp
Came from Dallas and was so excited to try these!! Definitely worth the drive coming here. What u got was the 2 churros and cajeta!! Best combination . The Nutella was eh definitely not tasteful with it like the cajeta was... overall def recommend that combination
google avatar

Mahi G.

Yelp
Tried the campfire churros and they were amazing warm! The area where the food truck was set up was also very nicely decorated. The food took some time to come out, but it's located next to a thrift store you can check out!
google avatar

Zachary S.

Yelp
Stopped by with family before heading back home from Rainey street. Only had to wait ~5min for churros. They had a nice picnic sitting area with around 6 tables. Churros were very good and reasonably priced. Definitely shareable between 2 for as long as you aren't territorial. The campfire had a little too much chocolate for my taste, but my wife was happy to eat the extra chocolatey chunks.
google avatar

Yelp
While the idea of dessert churros isn't revolutionary, it still takes some skill to execute them as well as Churro Co. has. They've been a mainstay over these past few years for being the little dessert truck that could and somehow making folks fall in love with churros all over again. There was a time where the hours / times were a little erratic and social media was only able to give so much info. As I understand it, they're only open from Weds-Sun since the bulk of their traffic comes from weekend munchie-goers. There is very little seating area and they've since painted over the truck and now it's even more difficult to spot. The most important thing are the churros, which are airy and crispy. While they're tasty on their own, the real value is enjoying it with something else. I personally recommend something with cajeta and vanilla ice cream. Churros a la mode is always a fun time and their popular "date night" churro is two churros tossed popcorn sugar, salted caramel, vanilla ice cream with a dash of sea salt. It's a specialty item for a reason and certainly my favorite. I think folks ought to try their floats, and shoot for the Texas comfort which are two churros tossed in cardamom sugar, apple pie filling, salted caramel, and whipped cream. It's all as decadent as it sounds and as sinfully sweet as described. Even when the weather is bad, people are still waiting in line here to get their fill. I know it's been a confusing time to locate these folks down, but I certainly hope they remain a part of the Austin food scene for a long time.

Yelp
Was needing dessert options, Churro Co came up in conversation. Friendly service, cute picnic tables and Churros! I ordered traditional Churros with a side of Strawberry Sauce, Hubby ordered the Campfire Churros. Over all both were okay, still really doughy on the inside.
google avatar

Nan T.

Yelp
I love churros and decided to stop by after dinner the other night. I ordered the Texas Comfort with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It wasn't my favorite but the churros themselves were delicious. It was a bit too goopy and the toppings were overpowering for my taste and when I come back, I'll probably stick with the plain churros with a dipping sauce. Amazing service and a solid dessert at a good price point.
google avatar

Kelsey D.

Yelp
Visited the Churro Co on a pretty empty weeknight and was met with quick and friendly service. Churro Co has my favorite churros outside of Spain, and I love their many creative flavor combinations. I ordered the campfire churros with added ice cream, and it was definitely large enough to split. So tasty!
google avatar

Shane K.

Yelp
We called ahead, checked the website and drove 30 min across town to catch this place on a Friday night at 9 pm for dessert. Despite hearing on their voicemail they are open, seeing online they were open and even showing up to the food truck to see signage saying they are open until 11 pm they were closed. We had a car full of 6 disappointed people turn around & go home, It's important that when a company changes their hours they respect their customers to communicate this to them in one of the possible ways.
google avatar

Quenton B.

Yelp
This place is a problem: 1) The s'mores thing is fantastic 2) It's cook to order so the freshness is unmatched 3) it's hard to stop eating Tips: I've cream is a extra Ask for an extra marshmallow if you get s'mores Don't get the same thing every time, although tempting
google avatar

Yuna K.

Yelp
where do i start- they have the best churros and u have to try it!! The vanilla ice cream- i really want to know where they get it because id love to get a tub. The wait is usually a little bit long depending on what time you come but its so worth it. They have tables/ seats where u can wait and it comes out piping hot and crispy. I usually don't like my stuff too sweet so i get the traditional churro with ice cream and its perfect.
google avatar

Kevin Y.

Yelp
Lot of good churro options. Very popular combos with ice cream that others enjoyed. The churro itself comes hot and has a good balance of crispiness and softness on the inside. Great for a little desert or to have it with cold coffee. It's in an odd spot for parking so you may have to park on the streets on the side.

Lakisha L.

Yelp
churros are so good i can't wait to go back i got churros with ice cream and strawberries it was the best ever
google avatar

Tina B.

Yelp
Such a cute little spot in Austin! They have churros and floats! Loved the choc sauce paired with the crispy churro and ice cream . They have outdoor seating only
google avatar

Tay M.

Yelp
The churro was amazing. It was hot and fresh and made to order. The service was okay. The ambiance was cute but we decided to eat in the car. My only complaint was that we went on a Sunday not realizing they were closed Monday. In other words I wanted to go back for more prior to ending my vacation but couldn't. Next time I'm in Austin I will definitely return for more deliciousness.
google avatar

Ben S.

Yelp
I never thought a churro could be some sort of art form but this little roadside stand proved me wrong! I took a gal on a date here yesterday and was blown away by how delicious and downright beautiful this dessert turned out. To the dude on the inside of the truck, props to you because I'm pretty sure you own and operate this business yourself. Keep crushing it, you are truly a master of your craft and you could totally scale this operation to multiple trucks if you haven't already.
google avatar

Minh L.

Yelp
Such good churros! I love apple pie and got the texas comfort which included apple pie filling. It was delicious! I can't wait to try all the other ones.
google avatar

Cathy L.

Yelp
Location and Hours - not very stable, took me three tries to finally get the churros because they changed locations to Revival's Coffee Shop and were not open when they said they were. Campfire Smores - super good, perfect fluffy marshmallows, perfect texture on the churros, definitely add ice cream
google avatar

Jessica N.

Yelp
These churros are so good.. there was literally a time where I was wearing the shortest dress, because I was on a date with my bf, it was outrageously cold and I was shivering so bad but we ordered like 4 churros and stood outside in the cold for each and every churro. And let me tell you, it was so fucking worth it. Service is great, the churros are amazing for their price, the drinks are okay, but omg you have to go here.
google avatar

Gill S.

Yelp
This place is tucked within two different buildings with a welcoming seating arrangements and Instagramable photo ops. There's another food truck as well, but on this day, only churro co was available this Sunday early evening. Prices seemed reasonable for what you were getting. It took at least 12 minutes for the order, which isnt bad, but I can only imagine it takes longer when they get super busy. I ended up getting the smores inspired churro. The churro itself is crisp, plenty of fried oil flavor, and coated in a good amount of cinnamon sugar. I was pleasantly surprised that they make their own chocolate sauce! It does make a difference in the overall dish, since the chocolate tastes more rich. The roasted marshmallow is pure delight, with its charred outside and gooey soft inside.
google avatar

Sandy Y.

Yelp
Solid churros covered in sweet sugar, syrup, and whipped cream. Takes a couple minutes but you know it's fresh!

Katie G.

Yelp
Stopped her after some Texas bbq for a sweet treat and it didn't disappoint. Loved the fresh raspberries.
google avatar

Jazmin M.

Yelp
Decided to check this spot out for dessert one night and even though we were super full we couldn't resist and ate the whole portion. I had to come back another time during my visit. I had the campfire churro, banana split one and the Texas comfort one during my visits and all 3 were sooo good. Can't go wrong with any of the toppings or flavor combinations, and ice cream on top is top notch. Will be going back when I visit Austin again.
google avatar

Dylan K.

Yelp
The food and service is amazing. Delicious churros with amazing things like toasted marshmallows and caramel! I knocked a star off because their website and location is so confusing. It's so hard to know where they actually are. I get the sense they have new ownership or something and they just don't know what they're doing yet. Their website location isn't where they're actually at.
google avatar

Gary C.

Yelp
Oh, I wish there is a place like this in my city. It's so hard to find good fried churro in the states and this place does it perfectly. We shared the one with ice cream and really felt content after consuming it. It seems fairly popular too, there was a line at 4pm already. I can imagine it gets fairly busy during dessert hours. Plenty of picnic table seating in the lot
google avatar

Rose J.

Yelp
Cinnamon sugar, light fluffy churro with the right crisp on the outside... it's a winner, winner! Yas!!! Location: it's a quaint location with parking at the adjacent building. I can imagine this being an issue if it's crowded! We arrived and ordered immediately ( no other customers on site). It is 2pm and the temperature is 99*...just hot! The prices are reasonable and for the traditional churros you get two and pay .75cent for sauce. I choose strawberry and my daughter got chocolate! The strawberry was the business! Only negative for me the seating was covered with ants. No place to really sit and enjoy the deliciousness! Oh yeah they only accept cards not cash!
google avatar

Nicole M.

Yelp
Amazing! We went two days back to back. First day got s'mores with ice cream which was great. Second day, got Texas Comfort. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! (no ice cream!)
google avatar

Yasamin G.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! Nice vibe outside the truck with all the other late nighters waiting on their fried treats, the employees are super friendly and nice. We took ours back to our hotel and snacked there. Can't wait to go back!

A. C.

Yelp
CHURROS--Omg the churros were fresh hot and delicious! They made them while we waited about 5 minutes, but so much better that way. COLD BREW--Really good cold brew too! They didn't have cream and I usually hate black coffee but there was cinnamon or something in it and it tasted great. SEATING-- was ok, they had picnic tables by the road. PARKING--We parked on Johanna St but they have a small parking lot tucked behind them on the west side off the little no name road that loops from Mary St down to South 1st. Overall this was really good and we'll be back!
google avatar

Vanessa V.

Yelp
Literally came across this truck while riding Wheels around the city. We stopped for a quick bite and were impressed with the quality. The churros were HOT when served so we knew they were fresh. The ice cream was melting. They are very generous with chocolate sauce so keep that in mind if you don't want too much chocolate! There isn't a lot of parking, and there were only a few tables for sitting. Be careful for the ants in the sand/dirt! They bite!!
google avatar

Nicole T.

Yelp
Churro Co. is hands down the best dessert spot in Austin! The churros are simply amazing - fried to perfection yet light and fluffy on the inside. I wish I had ordered more, but the portion size was perfect for one person. The menu offers a variety of flavor combos to choose from, and I appreciate that they prepare the churros quickly. I can't wait to come back and try more of their delicious churros!
google avatar

Audrey C.

Yelp
So good, you won't regret it. Picked this place over an ice cream place. Because duh... churro + ice cream beats just ice cream. The vanilla ice cream is very good too, and the salted caramel sauce I got on top of it was just delicious. Other: A good number of tables to sit & enjoy. You will need to find street parking, which was fine, fairly easy.

Chanel G.

Yelp
The churros were super yummy and the environments was pretty! Only downfall, they don't accept cash..
google avatar

Leena J.

Yelp
Best churros in all the land! Also, the inexpensive prices, come on! Friendly and sweet staff and great variety of churro combinations. This was the best place To get a little sweet treat! If you plan on enjoying your churros outdoors- (they have plenty of outdoor seating) bring bug spray. Go check them out!!! Such a great treat!!!

Clarissa H.

Yelp
Great and quick service! The person at the front was very kind and the environment is very peaceful. Churros were delicious!! 10/10
google avatar

Quyen T.

Yelp
It was a little difficult to find because they didn't have a sign that says "Churro Co" on the top of their food truck. But if you read the chalk board sign, you'll know you came to the right place. We ordered some specialty churros and some plain churros. All the churros came out fresh, piping hot and crispy. The specialty churros were rolled in cinnamon sugar and drizzled with chocolate/caramel sauce, topped with ice cream. These were so good we went back and ordered some more plain churros. The plain churros were also made fresh, were hot and crispy but were a little plain. Definitely worth the visit!
