Went in for what I thought was going to be a nice curry with the family however No soap in the bathroom. Cold food with plenty of hairs to choose from. (I have been told they don’t wear hair nets) back of the kitchen isn’t the cleanest after seeing it I don’t think I would let my dog eat there however it was in a good little location. Staff don’t speak English very well and were quite rude when they brought us stuff we did not order. They talk behind customers backs without knowing some of the customers speak Indian…

We came to celebrate and dine at chutneys Shaftsbury for my friend birthday and what can I say we just had a wonderful time. The food was absolutely delicious and the portions were big, compliments to the chef for outstanding culinary skills. And service is excellent. All in all we had such a good time here.

I had a fantastic delivery from Chutneys the other day! The food arrived piping hot, and the taste and quality were absolutely top-notch. You can tell they use fresh quality ingredients and put care into the food. Delivery was super fast too.Highly recommend – will definitely be ordering again soon!

Hi, my daughter and I were really disappointed with our meal in Monday evening. It was delivered promptly but went downhill from there. We had samosas but the filing didn't taste that great. The sag also was very good. The two mains were not good. The lamb and the chicken were both dry, overcooked and the sauces were very similar although they were different choices. They were not hot and we had to reheat in the microwave. Every time I've ordered from an Indian restaurant before, I've had a nice bag of basic salad and dressings for free. Nothing from chutneys. We both thought it was very expensive for both the quantity and quality. I'd love to try again as shaftesbury has very little in the way of delivery service. Sorry for the review. Maybe it was just an off night.

Just had a takeaway delivered and my korma was FULL of short black curly hairs, and I mean full. Every time I moved the spoon around another one appeared. Went straight in the bin. Absolutely horrific experience. Won't be going back.

Yelp
We've been visiting Chutneys for years now. I think the only negative experience we've ever had is not receiving a portion of chips that we ordered, but I guess every business makes a few screw ups. The gentlemen at chutneys are polite, talkative and very well dressed. Their restaurant is calm and relaxing. We normally order our food and have it delivered, and they always deliver long before their given delivery time. Always service with a smile, and best Indian around for many miles.

Yelp
Expectations were low as Shaftesbury is God's waiting room for retirees who moved to the wastelands of the West Country to make their meager pensions stretch a bit further. After days of downmarket West Country eating experiences, Chutneys was an absolute delight from its elegantly decorated and modern dining room to its attentive service and beautifully presented fresh-tasting food. The curries were beautifully spiced, the tandoori dishes tasty and succulent, the rices and breads perfectly light and fluffy. I loved this place.

Yelp
So I'm 19 and had a fair few Indians in my time. They're always at the very least "alright" experiences and after recently moving to the south I really didn't expect much. "This kid thinks he's know's a lot about Indians and he's only 19, hahahah-" Currently I'm the only recent review on here so sit down and buckle up. When I started eating the food it was more than just the whole "pleasently suprised" feeling you get because your expectations are been exceeded it was actually just releif. There's actually a good place to have an Indian. All the meals are done to a high standard and if unsure stick to the mainstream curries as they're pretty much always going to be done well. What I really didn't think I'd be recommending but I feel is the best part about the restaurant is the sides. The naan bread is great but I was extremely impressed with the vegetables. I would seriously recommend the Sag Paneer (I'm not looking up the correct spelling) and the Tarka Daal (Ditto). Service is great, ambience is good. Book on a Friday, it get's busy especially later on in the evenings. It's reasonably expensive but so is any decent Indian nowadays.

Yelp
The best Indian food in Dorset; up there with Anokaa in Salisbury in terms of taste. Great service.
