About 15 years ago, I visited Chuy's In Plano and tried a CoronaRita. It was love at first sip. The salty sour amazingness of corona with sweet, frozen margarita? Perfect. But I didn't realize when I moved to Addison Circle two years ago, that I would be five minutes away from not only that delicious beverage, but an amazing group of servers and bartenders and managers who would draw me into their establishment with their friendliness and fun atmosphere. The food is good, especially weird dishes like the green chile fried chicken and chick-a chick-a boom boom enchiladas. The reason I keep going back is the friendly service and camaraderie. Because I normally dine alone, I normally sit at the bar or in the bar area, and Emily is a rock star! So fun and friendly and makes a great drink. Also on hand are Kiera and Ray, always good for conversation, and the manager, Amber, has a great laugh.
Before Covid, most of the locations had a nacho car. No, that was not a misspelling. They actually had nacho fixings in the cut-off trunk of a car, lol. Well, that's not quite back, but during happy hour at the Addison location, you can make yourself free nachos. They also have great happy hour prices on margaritas and what not. It is an inexpensive way to decompress after a crazy day at work.
If it sounds like I am fanboying a little bit, I am. In an old black-and-white movie, Jimmy Stewart said the line, "No one brings anything small to a bar." A bar, a restaurant, any excuse to get out is time to get away from yourself and a laugh with others. That's what I found at Chuy's. Check them out in Addison! Especially Saturday through Tuesday in the evenings. Emily's shift. Enjoy all of the chips and ranch salsa you can eat. And ask for a margarita with a Corona. You cannot go wrong!
