Dallas’s Hidden Gems: Best Bars, Restaurants, Shops, and Parks | Eater

"What’s a visit to Texas without Tex-Mex? The first stop for many homesick Texans returning to the Lone Star State, Chuy’s has been a Texas institution for 37 years. Margaritas are a must, especially alongside one of the famous “big as yo’ face” burritos. Yes, the setting is kitschy, but it’s a fun and riotous environment that’s unlike anything you’ve likely experienced before." - Vox Creative

Google
Chuy's Tex Mex delivered a solid experience. The drinks were spot on with great balance and flavor. Chips came out fresh and warm, and the dips had excellent taste. Service was smooth and the atmosphere felt lively. The only reason it’s not 5 stars is because the food overall, while good, didn’t stand out at the same level as the drinks and apps. Still, a place worth returning to.

Had not experience Chuys prior. I cannot believe this is real food. I could not finish anything I ordered. The raw tomato salsa was disgusting. The chicken flautas were stuffed with the most off putting chicken filling. Drinks tasted dirty, proportions were off. Beans tasted like canned. Best part of the experience was the tortilla chips. Sorry I stopped by.

Ulises B.

Google
Perfect Tex-Mex chain restaurant. Enchiladas are very good and the unlimited chips and salsa is amazing. Very generous portions.

Google
This was not my best experience at Chuy’s. My best friend and I went here for a little girls night dinner and were not pleased with the quality of the food. The art selection was a bit weird. The server was very sweet and attentive.

Google
Better Mexican food in Dallas at Texas. Try avoiding tortillas because it is too tempting to eat with spicy sauce they provide. To eat well here you need to be really hungry because of good size of portions they serve. A must try for someone who is adventurous about food and try Mexican food (tex-mex).

I’ve been to this location on two occasions with my mother and we both had an ok time. The customer service was great and the food came out in a timely manner. I always order the guacamole appetizer and frozen swirl margaritas. I’ve noticed the frozen margaritas tend to melt down quickly but the drink is still ok. The guacamole is always great but on my last visit it seemed to be a little less fresh. The fresh salsa and ranch jalapeño dip are good and I always get that to go! For food, I’ve ordered crispy shell beef tacos and on another occasion the enchiladas. I can say I didn’t like the sour cream based enchilada but the traditional red sauce was ok. They only offer refried beans (no charro) and rice with your meal. My mom ordered the taco salad on one occasion and enchiladas on the next. She did enjoy her food but had the same feelings about the sour cream sauce. Overall, it’s your typical Tex-Mex.

Atmosphere was way to noisy. My hubby could not hear what I was saying to him. I was across from him. Had a new waiter. That is why service is low. I had to go find him (where taking an order) to get what I requested. Food was good. We will probably go to a different Chuys. This one was way busy with noise from many children at different tables.

Reshma T.

Google
Nice atmosphere. Our first time here and our waitress was helpful and attentive. The food is good and portions are big. It was getting crowded as we were leaving. Will visit again if we are in the area.

Yelp
About 15 years ago, I visited Chuy's In Plano and tried a CoronaRita. It was love at first sip. The salty sour amazingness of corona with sweet, frozen margarita? Perfect. But I didn't realize when I moved to Addison Circle two years ago, that I would be five minutes away from not only that delicious beverage, but an amazing group of servers and bartenders and managers who would draw me into their establishment with their friendliness and fun atmosphere. The food is good, especially weird dishes like the green chile fried chicken and chick-a chick-a boom boom enchiladas. The reason I keep going back is the friendly service and camaraderie. Because I normally dine alone, I normally sit at the bar or in the bar area, and Emily is a rock star! So fun and friendly and makes a great drink. Also on hand are Kiera and Ray, always good for conversation, and the manager, Amber, has a great laugh. Before Covid, most of the locations had a nacho car. No, that was not a misspelling. They actually had nacho fixings in the cut-off trunk of a car, lol. Well, that's not quite back, but during happy hour at the Addison location, you can make yourself free nachos. They also have great happy hour prices on margaritas and what not. It is an inexpensive way to decompress after a crazy day at work. If it sounds like I am fanboying a little bit, I am. In an old black-and-white movie, Jimmy Stewart said the line, "No one brings anything small to a bar." A bar, a restaurant, any excuse to get out is time to get away from yourself and a laugh with others. That's what I found at Chuy's. Check them out in Addison! Especially Saturday through Tuesday in the evenings. Emily's shift. Enjoy all of the chips and ranch salsa you can eat. And ask for a margarita with a Corona. You cannot go wrong!

Yelp
This is our second time visiting a Chuy's and I have to say, our first experience was phenomenal at another location. We loved the experience and food so much that we had to return. I feel disappointed we returned to this location. First to begin, the layout of this location isn't ideal. It feels really separated and I feel that this contributes to the poor service received here. When we arrived the hostesses didn't really seem happy that we were there. When we sat down, the waitress was friendly enough. We paid for our bill around 3:15pm on 10/5. With that said, we had asked for our food to go and we asked for more chips to go with our food and our sever didn't come back. We had to ask a gentleman server for the chips and he also didn't come back. I did notice this location was really advertising their catering room or catering and this seemed like a priority over those dining inside. I may give this location another go because I love Chuys and maybe it was an off day. I wrote to the headquarters and never heard back as I wanted to talk about my experience before writing a review but couldn't get in touch with anyone.

Yelp
Emily Scopas is the shit and the best bartender/waitress I've ever had the honor of serving me! Thank You, Matthew Caldwell

Yelp
I enjoy this Chuy's location. The pickup process is quick and easy. Pickup orders always packed well. They brought back the nacho bar happy hour, so yummy. Got a Mexican martini & nacho bar!

Yelp
The food is always so good, the chips are warm, the margs are delicious. Couldn't ask for more!!!

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday. It wasn't crazy busy. Services was great. Complimentary chips were thin slightly salty and fresh. The salsa was good. For the main course got the fried shrimp tacos. Ah-mazing. It hit the spot. The rice was a little spicier than I would have wanted. Refried beans were above average.
google avatar

Ashten A.

Yelp
This was my second time coming here, and unfortunately, both visits didn't satisfy my taste buds. The rice and beans were dry on both occasions, and the soft tacos were underwhelming--I honestly could've made better ones at home. To be fair, I was invited both times, and this isn't a place I would choose on my own. The drink I had was pretty good, but overall, there's not much else to say. Just not my cup of tea, food-wise.
google avatar

Yelp
I give the food a C~. However, the waitress was very nice. We ate lunch there. I will not go back.

Yelp
We have been to many Chuy's restaurants over the years, from San Antonio, to Dallas, to Fort Worth and beyond. It remains one of our favorite chains. My daughter is a huge fan of the Jalapeño Ranch dressing that comes with the chips. I always enjoy the Elvis Presley Memorial Combo which comes with 3 different enchiladas. Chips and Salsa are tasty and we almost always have good service.
google avatar

Morgan T.

Yelp
To go version : I was shocked this all so cheap I had to double check everything was correct. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS!!! They included this other sauce that we absolutely loved ! Will definitely be back in person ! The building is so cute and decorative especially the taco door handles !
google avatar

Brad L.

Yelp
I've been a fan of Chuy's since it first opened in Austin, Texas, and I've enjoyed their Tex-Mex at locations across San Antonio, Fort Worth, and beyond. No matter where I go, the food remains consistently excellent. After all these years, the quality, portions, and pricing are still great--always more food than you can eat, but you're happy to try! Their creamy jalapeño dip and queso are must-orders every time, and I can't get enough of their chips either. Over the years, I've tried almost everything on the menu, but my all-time favorites are the Big As Yo' Face Burrito with roasted chicken and queso on top and the steak burrito filled with tender steak pieces and cheese. Topping it with queso takes it to another level--it's absolute heaven. This location on Beltline Road has been fantastic. The staff is friendly, the service is quick, and the restaurant is clean and well-maintained. It's a fun, vibrant atmosphere that our family loves--especially our kiddo, who enjoys the food and is always fascinated by the quirky decor. Even though we now have to drive 45 minutes to an hour to get to Chuy's, it's worth the trip every couple of months. It's always a reliable spot for great Tex-Mex and a good time!
google avatar

Aria M.

Yelp
Look, okay. I'm embarrassed to say I've never been to Chuy's until now but I can promise you I'll be back. Homemade Tex Mex at the most reasonable price around. The atmosphere is pretty eccentric as you would expect and the service is great. I'm sure it can be a lot on a weekend evening, but for a Saturday afternoon we had a great time. The Chuy's hype is real, y'all.

Yelp
My wife and I walked into this place Saturday August 16th, at 9:17pm. When we entered there where three employees sitting in the waiting on there cellphones, then one of them took us to our table that was absolutely filthy. I am hoping that this review will help to improve the customer service at this establishment as that was our first time visiting and we actually walked out due to the experience
google avatar

Amber M.

Yelp
Not what it used to be however still a solid place to eat that's inexpensive. Food was good and service great. Drinks were delicious. No complaints.

Atta R.

Yelp
I have to say the service is getting worse every time I go. The first time I sat at the bar and sat over 20 minutes before getting a drink refil. I had to ask for a refill. Even though the bartender came by multiple times. This last time with me and my kids wanted to sit outside and the waiter outside that helped the table next to us, ignored us even after the manager brought it to his attention. After 15 of not being seen we left. This location needs to get it together on service. I love the food but the service is not worth the try

Charley F.

Yelp
Must be new management at Addison Chuy's because we actually enjoy going there again. Always loved the food but we would order takeout because the service was always lacking. We went there this evening and from the minute we walked in we could tell a big difference. We were seated by a very personable young lady, Amber, I'm guessing she was the manager, who checked on us periodically and our waitress, Jada, was awesome. The southwestern style chicken chili relleno are the absolute best! So glad they are back on the menu.

Lula P.

Yelp
Our waiter was the Best. Asa made up for the not so fresh food. So thank you Asa. Chips stale! I had the 3 crispy tacos that were too Wide for my mouth with beans and rice, not tolerable to eat. Food arrived quickly, guessing Micro waving? My husband ate his whole meal which he said was lower than all the Tex mex he's had. However, he has an iron stomach. Chuy's use to be one of my all time favorite places to go eat. So disappointing. This was 2nd time. We figured we would give it another try. I really hope you make some changes.

Yelp
It's been a few years since I last stopped at Chuy's; the last location wasn't in Dallas either. We made lunch reservations, and when we arrived at the restaurant, we were quickly seated outside even though our full party wasn't present. Afterward, our waiter came by and gave us some chips + dip. We asked for some "spicy" salsa and he brought either a Green Chile or Hatch Green Chile Sauce that wasn't spicy at all. By the time the rest of the party had arrived, we were ready to order and get lunch. I was pretty hungry so I ordered Chicken Fajitas, which came with some accompaniments including some warm corn tortillas in an enclosed tray. The corn tortillas didn't seem like they were entirely corn, but a mix of corn and flour. The food came out within 15-20 minutes and I had enough to take a box home. The meal was tasty and filling. If you want Tex-Mex and a decently sized meal, I recommend stopping by here for lunch.

Yelp
I have fond memories of eating and drinking at Chuy's in Austin, TX (ATX). This one in Addison seems like a stripped down version of the original in its heyday, but that's to be expected since many things in life have changed. Gone is the help-yourself chip and salsa bar. I don't know if this location ever had one, but it was a staple in ATX. The menu used to be a thick book with several pages to flip through. Now, it's just a double sided, one sheet, with much fewer options. I wouldn't be surprised if COVID had something to do with these two changes. I didn't see a particular item on the menu that interested me, so I mistakenly ordered the same thing as my husband: the Elvis Presley Combo. It's as grand and jaw dropping as Graceland in Nashville. It will take up every free space on your table and inside your belly. You will be taking home leftovers, so order this only if you are planning to go directly home afterwards. While the three different enchiladas in the combo were fun to try. My husband was a fan of the chicken one with a green tomatillo sauce with a sharp flavor. I devoured the cheese one, but loved the smokey flavor of the adobo sauce on the ground beef one. We both agreed that the queso was the star of the night. How do they get it to stay in that liquid state without being runny? We added fun stuff (guacamole, ground beef, and pico de gallo to top it off. Every bite had me craving more. Of course we couldn't go without ordering margaritas. We got them on the rocks with salt on the rim. Gone are the fun fish bowl stemware. Instead, expect an everyday 8 oz frosted glass that you would expect to get with a soda order. These are ten dollars a piece. I wish we had made a trip to the liquor store next door instead, but we so rarely eat out anymore, it was a guilty splurge. $80 for our meal and drinks. "How do people dating afford to go out anymore," asked my hubby.
google avatar

Marina R.

Yelp
I sat at the bar for intentional quick to go service with a quick margarita & the service was beyond disappointing. The bartender was rude, made me wait 15 minutes before ordering and didn't even check on me. I had to ask for a drink menu and use someone else's food menu. I didn't get his name because he was never available. For reference the area at the bar was empty. There's myself and two others. I ordered the grandma-Rita and it was good. I would have had two more should I have had service. But he left my bill in a cup and never came back so I'm typing this as I leave. Disappointing. Saddening. Won't be returning. Update I got is name - Los. Not a fan, and I'm sincerely sad as I chose to come here for a great ending to my day..

Chad K.

Yelp
I was here with just the kids and got up to go to the restroom which meant we all had to go.... seeing an empty table the bus boy pick up our food that we had not finished. An honest mistake. Before we were even out of the restroom, our waiter had not noticed, and the manager was bringing out a full new set of combo fajitas, and all the fixings and new drinks for everybody as well. Amazing service going over the top when something could have been a big negative and turn it into a huge positive
google avatar

Lynne T.

Yelp
After attending a Christmas performance, we all voted to eat dinner at Chuy's. Service was a10/10! We were seated within minutes, even with a supposedly 15 minute wait time, guessing we were seated within 5 minutes. There were 5 in our group. The manager was managinggggg tonight. She said and I quote "sit this group in the section I directed, the server will not clock out until told to do so' end quote. Yes, ma'am. We hear and see you. Our meals were 10/10! Boom boom sauce is fabulous on a chip or cheese enchiladas! We all were highly impressed with the food tonight.

Yelp
There are more than just a few Happy Hour locations in the Addison area. When we needed margaritas and Beltline construction traffic is atrocious, Chuy's was our oasis. It was a rainy Wednesday , late afternoon and plenty of seating in the bar area. Extra star for all the fun artwork of Chihuahuas and other dogs adorning the walls. The chips and salsa are good and the queso is more than good. We tried a few cocktails but after the next margaritas it's kind of a blur. The margaritas hit the spot though. As far as Happy Hours go, it was quiet so bring your own crowd.
google avatar

Houston K.

Yelp
Chuy's is a regional Mexican chain that has all the basics you might expect but with some oddities that defy the status quo. One thing that I am still perturbed about is that they removed the "big as yo face" savory Sopapillas. I used to get that with fajita beef many years ago, and it was my go to dish. In lieu of that I usually get the cheese Enchiladas add steak and or just go for fajitas. I really like the chips at Chuy's, they're thin and light, reminiscent of El Milagro brand. The salsa is also quite satisfying, I wish I knew how they made it, I would suspect it's sort of a semi blended pico de gallo. Also honorable mention would have been the Elvis Green Chile Fried Chicken, but they also removed that from the menu. Margaritas here are nothing special, but very consistent and admirably priced. I think what really sets them apart though would be their sauces. They have quite a few to choose from to adorn your traditional Tex-Mex plates. So far as the interiors or decor of the restaurants themselves, well they're a little bit gawdy for my tastes, not to say there is anything distinctly wrong with them. Perhaps tone down the tchotchkes and gewgaws a bit though?
google avatar

Daniel P.

Yelp
I got the special with the stuff peppers it tasted amazing especially with the queso sauce the service was fast and the staff was friendly. This place is really popular so it is going to be loud but the food is worth it they also have pretty cool decor and they sell pretty cool looking t-shirts

Steve L.

Yelp
To begin with - over priced for Tex Mex. Chimichanga was great. Today's Taco Salad on Doordash order was a joke. $14.95 for Fajita Chicken Taco Salad. The salad was in a large flat plastic clear container. Piled high with enough lettuce for 3 people. I kept digging around for the jajita chicken. I had envisioned strips of chicken. It took a bright light and close up glasses to find all of the little pieces of chicken that were in there. Chopped up very fine so they tried to hide the fact that there was less than 2 ounces of chicken. So that's 14.95 for lettuce, tomatoes, small amount of cheese and some carrot and these tiny pieces of chicken. Although it was very fresh I was so diappointed. No way would I order that again.

Yelp
Visited for a lunch on Saturday! Their jalapeño ranch dip is so good!! We had an awesome waitress and the food came out great! Will be back to try other drinks and dishes!
google avatar

Andrew S.

Yelp
Was here for a wedding party, about 30 of us. The staff was awesome! They made sure the drinks were full & we were all enjoying ourselves. Appetizers were chips, salsa, quesadillas, & rolled tacos. The main event was a build your own fajitas bar. I can't recommend this highly enough if you want a great value, low stress gathering of friends with TEX-MEX.
google avatar

Donnie J.

Yelp
I love this place but I'm currently watching the hostess and some of the waiters eat chips out of the machine and double dipping out of the salsa that's served to the customers.

Jon N.

Yelp
Do not go here! The servers are rude and chase you away. I frequented this location for lunch until today. I went into the bar and was about to sit and got yelled at from a server telling me I can't sit there. It was one the the first tables as you enter the bar and I sit at that table almost everytime I got for lunch. Also, DO NOT address me as Boss. That is disrespectful and rude! I would be giving negative stars if allowed and I will no longer be going here!
google avatar

Katie T.

Yelp
Was in town and this Chuys was right by the hotel. It was Saturday. Would have been a 30 minute wait, so we decided to sit at a table at the bar. Service was quick and friendly. We received everything we asked for quickly and correctly. Had the chicken fajita enchiladas and they were hot and perfectly cooked. My daughter said her cheese enchiladas were some of the best she's had. The cheese was cooked perfectly and not cold yet. The waitstaff was busy, yet friendly and efficient. Stop in this location!
google avatar

Sarah H.

Yelp
1-13-2024 The menu options have slimmed down since the last time I visited. The Panchos with fajita chicken were delicious, large chips with lots of cheese and a great crispy crunch. The order was a large portion though, I heard the table next to ours ordering half portions, if that was an option on the menu I missed it. Chicken fajitas for one were also ordered at our table, good portion size with grilled onions, peppers and plenty of the fixins. Service this evening was disappointing, seated quickly but slow for the server to come over, acknowledge us, deliver chips salsa take drink orders etc. The salsa was not refilled until we sought out the waitress and requested it. The drinks were not refilled, we ordered corn tortillas to have before the food arrived and those never came. When the meal was done we couldn't find the server to ask for a to-go box and the check. I kept watching servers come out of the back but not ours. When I did see her she was delivering chips to tables in a different area of the restaurant. Perhaps they were short staffed that night, but in the area we were in (room behind the hostess stand) there were only two tables filled.

Karmen T.

Yelp
Glad to have a piece of home (Austin) and especially N Lamar down the street from me here! Thank you!!

Yelp
If you've been to a Chuy's before,  you'll feel very comfortable when you walk in--it's structured like most others I've dined in and has the same vibrant colors throughout. I appreciated that, as I was in Dallas from out of town. Service here was great. Everything from being greeted, to seated, chipped and salased... service was .  My server was attentive at all of the right times. I truly felt welcome and valued as a customer. My chicken fajita salad tasted good. The vegetables were fresh, the cheese was plentiful; but I was expecting the chicken to be cut differently.  The large-ish chunks surprised me.  That's not bad, as it still tasted good. But it's definitely not my preference.  I know I won't order this again. The strawberry mojito is a very refreshing drink and very dangerous.  I easy could have had 2 or 3 because they were so smooth and didn't seem alcoholic!  I ordered a Tito's Cherry Limeade to take back to my hotel, and I can tell you--there was no doubt my body didn't know that delightful drink was full of alcohol!

Yelp
2019 Yelp 120 Challenge #62 I visited Chuy's during Cinco De Mayo weekend on a Saturday and my husband and I had the worst experience. Our server was nice but our food made us both sick. My husband got sick immediately after and within less than 24 hours I had started feeling sick. Chuy's was the last place I ate before getting sick and I refuse to go bak there again. If you won't to get sick and contract a stomach flu then, I highly recommend Chuy's to you for a horrible next few days. Worst place ever.
google avatar

Scott H.

Yelp
regional Texas chain. consistent. somewhat reasonable prices considering the current economy and prices. the salsa is a bit alternative compared to "mainstream" Tex-Mex places; but, really, really good. the jalapeno ranch dip is literally adult crack for chip dipping...and works well on the small salad garnish on the entree plate. being a creature of habit, i only go to about 2-3 items on the menu...all are consistent and flavorful. service can be hit-or-miss due to staffing issues and turnover...you're on your own there. but, this chain is worth having in the rotation of your favorite 4-5 Tex-Mex establishments in town.

Mike D.

Yelp
Never going back again!!! Terrible service. Arrived and it took almost 10 minutes before a waitress appeared to take drink order. Placed a food order and didn't see our waitress again for almost an hour. We were so angry that we Just gave up and left without eating. You'd think that they'd be more concerned about customer service with all the other options in the area.

Yelp
Fantastic! I love the food at Chuys. I had a chimichanga with boom boom sauce and a blackberry margarita. Both were over the TOP good. Keenan in Addison was fantastic. He was helpful and very gracious. Chips are the best I have ever had , thin and crispy with queso, jalapeño ranch and salsa, all wonderful.

Blake B.

Yelp
Crazy experience. You might want to avoid this place. See my novel below if you want to read about some tragically bad service. Our waitress took our order and then returned 10-15 mins to take our order again. Said that actually she knew that and the order was placed (definitely not true, we saw her run directly to the back to get the order placed). Once our order finally came she got one of the orders wrong (also forgot to bring out the sides on the other order). The order she had wrong was fried shrimp tacos instead of the grilled shrimp that was ordered and she said if we were okay with the difference in the order she would just comp it. When she brought the check out she said she actually wasn't able to comp anything and handed us a coupon for free queso for our next visit. Once we looked at the check we realized that she also charged for double fajitas. We asked her about it and she said that when I ordered them she asked if I wanted half or full, and that when I said full, that it actually meant double at Chuy's. I said that does not seem right, but just went ahead and paid an extra 15 bucks for her mistake without causing a scene. She then apologized for the kitchen taking so long (the kitchen was fine she just forgot to put the order in and then when she did she got both wrong). She said that the long wait was probably because the restaurant was the busiest she has ever seen it (It was a Wednesday night and she was standing in front of mostly empty restaurant).

Yelp
Great for groups and amazing food, great staff and the location is in the middle of Addison central business district.

Yelp
Ive eaten many enchiladas in my 40 years in texas From north, west, south and east Texas. Best Tex-Mex chain I've encountere. Still can't beat Tejanos(closed) in Oak Cliff but they are not a chain and the nostalgia factor. You're not gonna find a better Tex mex chain. Boom Boom sauce lives up to the hype and can be eatin almost by itself. Dont skip the TRES LECHE CAKE ITS THE BEST you WONT find better unless your abilita makes it.

Yelp
Food was alright. The taco shells are super cheap and as soon as you bite into one it falls apart. Besides that. The food was good. And the service was lacking. Our server was just sitting behind the bar on her phone and then when she got up from that spot. The manager was coming by to flirt. And she barely paid any attention to us. We won't be back because the service was awful. but the food was good and a very decent price.

Yelp
Came to sit a the bar , the whole bar was dirty & the restaurant wasn't busy. Asked to clean it so I could sit down, didn't get a menu & offer almost 20 mins after sitting down if I needed a menu. I just got queso & margarita, had to ask for water , had to ask for napkins , chips were cold . Made me remember why I don't come eat at this location , the Bartender was more focused on charging his phone & the other one would just disappear at times .

Yelp
Enjoy your Spring & Summer days on their excellent outdoor patio. Bijou brings her owner here with her when she wants TexMex. Nice bar & wait staff.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I went to wind down after a long day. I wanted to enjoy a few margaritas and some fajitas.... This was the first margarita and what's worse is that I didn't even notice it until after I drank my margarita and my girlfriend pointed it out to me. that was the end of my visit. If they will serve this in my drink, what extra bugs will come in my meal? Unacceptable!

Yelp
I used to never go to Chuy's but I've found myself coming here quite a bit now that I work down the street. This is a popular new employee welcome lunch spot for the company. It gets really busy some days so be sure to come early. Also, in addition to the complimentary salsa, I recommend asking for a side of their jalapeno ranch to dip your chips in. So good. On Tuesdays they have a fried stuffed avocado special. An avocado stuffed with chicken and veggies and deep fried! Looks like a dinosaur egg.

Yelp
Someone please tell me why on earth I had never heard of Chuy's or really even noticed it before July 2019?! I found the restaurant decor to be very cute weirdly like I was in a favorite aunt or grandma's kitchen. We came at a great time, about 5pm before the dinner rush, so we were seated right away. The hosts and servers were all very pleasant and looked like they really enjoyed working there - which made being there feel good too! We got chips and salsa, and then ordered the cilantro queso. It was sooo good! For my meal I had a combo of chicken enchilada and chalupa. The same cilantro queso came on the enchilada and was a great compliment to it. I had to take that one to go because by the time I finished my chalupa, I was stuffed! It came on a hard flat shell, loaded with with very well seasoned chicken, beans, etc. I am pleased to say my enchilada and refried beans tasted even more amazing for lunch the next day.
