LA Restaurants With Drive-Thrus And Curbside Pick-Up - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Chuy’s is a super-affordable drive-thru Mexican spot in Van Nuys. They’re best-known for their tacos dorados with carne deshebrada (shredded beef), loaded with cheese, in a fried hard taco shell. Their burritos are also good, if you want something more substantial - get the carne molida with chorizo and beans. Drive-thru only." - kat hong, brett keating

Google
Very delicious very authentic Mexican food very nice. Good Customer service food was great. Reminded me of my mom's cooking.

Google
Waited 50 minutes for a huarache de asada size my hand and a menudo which had lack of flavor not enough grano or meat. You can tell they prioritize their phone orders and their customers inside take the hit. They should acknowledge that they take forever and put a sign up to let customers know what they’re in for.

Google
Cute little authentic mexican food spot. Been here a few times and the food is always delicious! Staff is very nice and happy to serve. Nice place to have in Montclair!

Google
Over 30 minutes for a single burrito I called in ahead of time was told it would be 15 minutes arrived. Had to wait another 20 minutes before my food was ready on top of that. The guy kept saying my food was almost ready when it’s clear it hasn’t even Gotten started. He should’ve just been honest with me and told me that he never put my ticket in after I called in and that it would be 15 to 20 minutes don’t patronize me and tell me my food is almost ready. I’ve been waiting 30 minutes.

Google
Amazing food!!! Chuy’s was a randomized pick for local Mexican food while visiting Pitzer College. The food was perfection. Clearly home made everything mixed with very friendly staff (owner?) and clientele. As we sat and ate multiple families, tradesmen, and locals started piling in. Everyone knew each other and it was an enjoyable people watching moment. Highly-Highly recommended. We started with 3 Chorizo tacos, and a platter of Asada, Pollo and Al Pastor tacos. Then, we were still a little hungry and decided to try Barilla tacos and they were sooo good. They also had Mexican coke and Squirt for wash it all down. I would highly recommend you stop and grab a bite at Chuy’s.

Google
I recommend this restaurant if you are craving authentic Mexican food this is the place you should most definitely visit. Fresh produce you can taste immediately. My Mexican partner introduced me to this authentic Mexican food restaurant and I can't stop eating from Chuy's Cocina

Yelp
Delicious ! Tortillas remind me of the ones from Mexico ! Came by myself this first time because I was waiting for my car to finish getting service across the street but definitely coming back with my family

Yelp
My 3rd visit here and it's always absolutely delicious. Great service the young man that works out front is always friendly and the ladies cooking are absolutely amazing. Fresh hand made tortillas everything homemade and fresh. I highly recommend trying them out. You won't regret it and the prices are very reasonable for the quality of food that you will enjoy.

Yelp
All the food is delicious, and it's family owned! But I go mostly for their menudo Mmmm

Yelp
8/25/24 More than decent tacos, actually better than I expected! As you walk in you can immediately hear the Spanish songs playing (just a bit) loudly. Hubby is very sensitive to noise so he had me order the food at the front/cashier area. We've passed by this Mexican food joint a few times coz it's located by the main drag, Central Avenue. It's in a small plaza where a check cashing, hair cut & insurance place is also providing their businesses. There are about a dozen booths inside & perhaps 3 sets of outdoor seating in this small restaurant. The young lady tending as the cashier/order taker is very pleasant & fairly knowledgeable about what they offer. Hubby's order will usually be al pastor tacos (if breakfast then he would prefer chirizo). I was interested in the Gobernador con crema & a shrimp taco. Maybe the soda fountain is out of order coz she said they only have canned or bottled beverages. Within a few minutes, our tacos are ready. See photos. Looks a bit on the tiny portion but presented very well with fresh pico de gallo & mine has crema. The small tacos are packed with great flavors. I was surprised at how plump & juicy the shrimp were & the cool sliced radish on the side gave it a good refreshing finish. The spices on the pastor tacos were well balanced & oh so good!! Hit the spot! I don't know about y'all but this was a fun & tasty snack! LoL. All 6 tacos cost $19.20, not bad!! How delicious & delightful was the service & the food!!! We are definitely coming back to try other items on the menu-I am looking forward to the pozole Yum! Come & support this local business & taste some really good Mexican food Insurance check cashing haircut

Yelp
An AMAZING family-owned Mexican restaurant! Order your food at the front and they'll bring it to your table. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the pricing-portion ratios were perfect! We got a good amount of food and they were priced quite cheap! The food was also very good! Their Birria was very tasty with just the right amount of flavor and the meat was super juicy and tender. My favorite thing was the fact that they make homemade tortillas to go along with their dishes! Very cute and homey place, I 100% recommend coming here for a meal! We'll definitely be coming back!

Yelp
It was a late dinner time for us and we wanted to find something pronto but not fast food. We pulled out the Big Red Yelp button for help and this little gem popped up. We came on a Friday evening to only return Sunday afternoon. Friendly staff, clean inside, and food is great! Overall everything had authentic flavors. We had red cheese enchiladas plate, potato taco plate, asada fries and horchatas. The first time we came here we ordered carne asada nachos to share and we were convinced this place has good cooks and food is worth the return. I want to try the menudo!

Yelp
Quant little restaurants slightly hidden in Montclair. The staff is extremely friendly and you can never go wrong with the chilaquiles.

Yelp
Absolutely legit local find. Family friendly and family owned. I came here two days in a row. 3 days in one week. The food is great. The menu is extensive. There are plenty of choices from Caldo, tacos, burrtos, sopes, quesdilla, and combinations. Everything is fresh and delicious. They have coffee, fountain drinks, cans, and bottles. A few fresh juices as well. The carne asada burrito is delicious. There is something about the flour tortilla that I really enjoyed. It was packed with carne asada, cheese, rice, beans, and cheese. Came with a side of green or red salsa. For not being a bean girl, these beans were good. The breakfast burritos with asada and egg are equally delicious. Super filling. The carne asada quesdilla was good too. I am a fan. Remember to ask for chips.

Yelp
So I checked out this spot for some Taco Tuesday while I was in the area. The tacos were $1.49 each and I got Carne Asada & Al Pastor tacos. Both were good but I preferred the Al Pastor over the Carne Asada. Definitely be back for more tacos in the future!

Yelp
I used to love coming here because it's literally around the corner from me, but it has gotten WAY too expensive for the amount of food you get. Don't get me wrong, the food tastes great, but the amount of food you get is not worth the price they charge. I ordered chilaquiles with egg and chicken. I got charged a little over $25, like what!!! The chilaquiles by themselves are $12.50, then they add $2 for the eggs and $6.50 for chicken. I wish I had been told the price before I placed the order, I would have gotten food somewhere else. The fact that it's literally just a pounded slice of chicken slapped on top of the chilaquiles, did not help. So disappointed. Unfortunately we won't be coming here anymore. Oh, and if you're looking to get what you paid for, 2 Broken Yolks has an amazing LARGE chilaquiles bowl with shredded chicken, eggs any way you want, cheese, red onion, cilantro, and sour cream. And it's still slightly cheaper than this plate.

Adriana D.

Yelp
No flavor to food soup vegetables to hard meat has more fat and and very hard to chew and very expensive

Yelp
Great food and hand made tortillas are scrumptious! Always packed on weekends. Get there early.

Yelp
Let's start off by saying I'm so glad I found this place, it truly is authentic. The location is a little small but despite that, it's comfy. It's always clean, they are always friendly and the food never disappoints. The caldos are soooo good. I definitely recommend this Mexican restaurant!
google avatar

Yelp
Place needs deep cleaning, I can only imagine the kitchen :( spoke to the manager and she didn't cared much about it

Yelp
Friendly and warm staff. Food is delicious and tastes homemade. Coffee and jugos are also very good.

Yelp
This place is great! You can tell right away that this family really cares about their customers and the food. I always stop here for the breakfast burritos. Give them a try the next time you're hungry and you won't be disappointed.

Isaac M.

Yelp
As a very very very white man, not speaking a lick of spanish. The staff here are great, bi-lingual, helpful and knowledgeable on the menu and preparation of the food. I ended up getting a quesadilla and horchata. Our food was brought out to us, along with green and red salsa. Halfway through our meal the staff brought out some spicer sauce since we had been enjoying the original salsa that was brought out with the food. My ONLY gripe about the food was the horchata, it was a little chalky. However this could just be my gringo tastebuds and since this is the case they will keep all five stars. I would 100% recommend this place and will be coming back.
google avatar

Leticia R.

Yelp
The food is tasty. I do not recommend the caldo de pollo. I was really disappointed after paying $15.99 for a cup of broth and three pieces of potato with one chicken leg. That's it! Not enough food to fill you up and for $16 bucks. The burritos are yummy, not very big, but yummy. Folks are kind and coffee is great with a cinnamon hint. Small place, so I usually order to go.
google avatar

Elena V.

Yelp
If you're looking for some really delicious menudo, look no further this is the best in the area. The meat is clean, the caldo has a really great taste and it comes with fresh made tortillas. Hits the spot in this cold weather!
google avatar

Aaron A.

Yelp
Hard pass for the people in my group. Ordered chilaquiles plate, Asada burrito with shrimp. Nothing tastes good. Won't be returning. Service was good and price was fair.

Donald W.

Yelp
Very fresh food and great menudo & tortillas! Highly recommended for anyone wanting good food.

Taylor ..

Yelp
45$ for small portioned food. I get it, prices are on the arise, but at least hook it up?

Yelp
Service was good. Attendant was respectful and helpful. Most importantly the Tacos were delicious. Will come again for more tacos.

Salvador H.

Yelp
El personal es muy amable , la comida deliciosa. Seguiré llendo por las costillas en chile, tacos de papa dorados .
google avatar

Yelp
Since the first time i came here this place has fallen off. customer service was rude the last few times i came and with the prices going up the food portions and quality have gone down. probably the last time i come here. Tortillas weren't even included with my plate this time that's what finally let me know to stop coming here. it used to be really good experience.
google avatar

Deedee H.

Yelp
The place is small but the people are friendly. Homemade tortillas and good food. A variety of food made fresh.

Jessica F.

Yelp
I went to visit my dad and stopped by to grab some lunch for us, I got some tacos de papa and loved the tacos. My dad loved them too. The owner was very sweet, I think its family owned. The restaurant is small but loved supporting their small business. I will be definitely stopping by for lunch here every time I visit.
google avatar

Argie A.

Yelp
Can't say enough. My husband and I were driving around looking for menudo and I'm so glad he found this place. The menudo is delicious of course but, we also got some tacos de papa and they did not disappoint. Everything tastes like a home cooked meal. We will eat here again, for sure!
google avatar

Yelp
Decided to give this place a try after all the good reviews it has. We took a chance and did not regret it. I'm very picky for my Mexican food since I know what good food tastes like. The food was fresh and delicious! We tried the champurrado and it was hands down one of the best I have tried. The breakfast burrito and chilaquiles verdes were also good. The only downfall was they had limited selection on their beverages and their fountain drink was down. Definitely give it a try if you're craving Mexican food!
google avatar

Stephane J.

Yelp
My BF and I came here late Saturday for lunch. We had the two taco place special with rice and beans for $5.99. We each got an asada and pollo taco. The Asada was amazing and had great flavoring and the chicken was pretty good too. We also got chips and salsa. The chips was homemade and thick so yummy and tasty The salsa was also pretty amazing here. The young man who helped us was very friendly and very attentive. We were in the area and checked Yelp for good Mexican food. We would definitely go back again. it's too bad we don't live in the area because that place is definitely once or twice a week place if you lived right near there.

Krissy S.

Yelp
The food was delicious and authentic. Super nice staff, too! I had to wait a little while but it was worth it. Everything seems to be made to order!
google avatar

Karen M.

Yelp
I wasn't a believer of how many stars this place had. I had to try it. This place has delicious food. We had street tacos & the rib plate and they are pretty damn good. I recommend this place. Oh yeah, the service was good too. One more thing. The table booths can be slightly moved so my husband can fit his fat belly in it!
google avatar

Edwin L.

This place is a total hidden gem! I lived in Montclair for over 4 years and I can't believe I've never tried it till today ! If you're looking for good authentic Mexican food that hits the spot, you definitely have to try this! the food here is amazing. They hand-make their tortillas fresh, and you can absolutely taste the difference. I loved everything about it ! I highly recommend this to everyone! 10/10

Yelp
The service was terrible very unprofessional, lack of service. We were not even greeted when we arrived. Ordered some coffee had some trouble with the pumps from the creamer and was brought up to their attention and didn't even bother to help. Will never even consider coming back. Can't give my opinion on the ambiance I was not there long enough.

Yelp
Papas de tacos and menudo are solid very tasty. They have a lil coffee bar cool little breakfast spot.
google avatar

Tanya R.

Yelp
I love the food! Per que triste que ya no hacen enchiladas estilo Michocan :( Try the ribs in salsa roja y los camarones ala dibla!
google avatar

Lisa B.

Yelp
Such a great place! The menudo is the most delicious we have tasted. On Sundays my Mom has my husband pick up three menudos to bring home. It's always freshly made. It is not greasy like other places. Plus, the tripe is always cut in nice pieces, and they don't throw in the 'funny looking ones' like at other places. The tortillas are handmade and so good! The corn tamales are the absolute best. So tasty!

Armando O.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this lil spot, it's mins away from my house and I'm blessed by all the reviews that I read and was convinced to check it out and I give it 2 thumbs up dos dedos pa riba lol

Mariana C.

Yelp
They had good service and their food was good. I got a burrito de asada and it was very good tortilla they use are thin and very good !! Camarones a la diabla were good but not for you if you want something spicy . Overall cool spot to come try 8/10

Letisha M.

Yelp
I was craving chilaquiles and gave this a place a try and it did not disappoint. The food

Erendira R.

Yelp
Muy rica la comida de este lugar. Les recomiendo la morisqueta un plato típico del estado de Michoacan. They have delicious food here, I recommend you try their Morisqueta it's a typical dish of the State of Michoacan
google avatar

Kelly M.

Yelp
Ordered the asada burrito with no rice& light on the cheese. The asada meat was so juicy and flavorful, with the delicious juices of the meat running out on the pillowy soft flour tortilla. The side of beans I ordered seemed on the healthy side, not salty and no fat flavoring, but creamy, The green salsa is amazing, so much flavor, but not spicy. The red salsa has some fury, but is delicious. Because it was not busy this midday, I asked for samples of the salsas and beans before I purchased, and they were very kind to my nosy ways. I will be back to try their pozole on a weekend for sure. A small mom and pop, and damn you make a good asada burrito!

Edgar M.

Yelp
Food was delicious. I ordered the chilaquiles with carne asada and not only was it fast service but the flavor of the salsa was amazing and meat cook to perfection.

Yelp
First time here . My daughter who lives in another city called me and said go get me some corn tamales. Said she checked and this was the best place around for them. I decided to eat here I got shrimp fajita. They made my husband a wet burrito. It was super cool because it wasn't on the menu. Homemade EVERYTHING. Will be back . Customer service is the best.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a hidden gem in the area. The food tastes homemade as if your Mom or Grandma made it. They're from the same state in Mexico that my family is from, Michoacan, and they have the 'sazon' Try it out, you won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Klaudia E.

Yelp
We enjoy attending this restaurant because of their home made tortillas and delicious dishes at least once a week. Thank you

Yelp
I'm writing this now as I eat. I ordered an asada taco, chicken tamale, and a chile relleno and chicken enchilada combo to-go. The asada taco was delicious. Meat was very moist, not dry. It came with the basic cilantro, onion with radish and lime on the side. The chicken tamale was very small (see pics), but the masa was very moist and fluffy. The tamale was full of meat, but the chicken didn't have much flavor or sauce. The chicken enchilada with verde sauce was tasty. The shredded chicken breast meat was very moist and melted in my mouth. The chile relleno was fresh, the chile was well-roasted and tender, but the egg batter was soggy due to the watery tomato sauce that was poured over it. I would suggest a thicker sauce for the relleno. The beans and rice were average, not much flavor but tasted fresh and homemade. Mari(a) was nice enough to give me chips and salsa to go for free. I would have gladly paid but she said I didn't have to. The salsas were a little watery but had good flavor. I tried the hot, mild green, and a mild red. Hot wasn't hot at all, to me at least, but had a bit more spice than the mild. In all, I will return because the food is fresh, homemade, and tasty. Just get extra salsa for the tamale and add a little salt/pepper to the rice and beans and you'll be fine.
