Chuy's Fiestas Restaurant & Taqueria

A welcome addition to the neighborhood! I tried the three specialty tacos, a Volcano Taco, a Vampiro Taco and a Taco Mar Y Tierra. The Mar y Tierra stood out the most for me, I’ve never had a shrimp and bacon taco - and now that I’ve found it, this won’t be my last 😋 The tacos were very full, I thought the protein portion was generous and the flavors from the spices were muy delicioso. I enjoyed a lime margarita and was pleasantly surprised it came with tajin around the rim. My server was very friendly and attentive, so although it was a sleepy Sunday evening I get a good feeling that the service will continue to be excellent. Overall, the food and beverages were very good and I will be coming back! Gracias por traernos esta comida, Chuy’s!

An excellent local authentic mexican restaurant/taqueria. I’m so happy to have this place close to my house. I’m a Super picky Mexican food eater and I give this place 2 thumbs up. Thank you for coming to Bernal Heights . You will see me again!

We went to get a bite for Cinco de Mayo today ,the place was slammed but the staff was very polite and service was slow but considering the number of people waiting they were moving as fast as they could. Food and drinks were excellent , lovely place , good for groups and kids. I will definitely recommend this place and go back again. The patio seating at the back was really nice , glad we found this place !!

I went thinking it was gonna be great because of the reviews, but my first experience was unimpressive. I ordered chicken enchiladas, they took a little long and I was one of 3 tables. On top of that, the chicken was cold, but the tortilla was warm. So I sent it back, she put it in the microwave. Thats a fail too. Comes back, now I have warm chicken with hard tortillas and semi dry sauce. Fail to fail to fail back to back. I also don't like that they have GMO Maseca tortillas at organic food prices. Overall, B quality food at A quality prices. The agua, beans and rice were solid though. I'll come back and try other things at some point, but I'll skip the tortilla based meals. Grandma taught me better. No Maseca in this house. So better than your night taco stand, but not close to something like Lolos.

Great food, with a varied menu and meat, fish and vegetarian options. House tortillas are delightful. The kitchen staff are well organized, able to get multi-part dishes for an entire party out quickly and together. Staff are super friendly. It can get a little loud when crowded, but worth it for the food.

Very friendly service, and delicious food! [Some small feedback without detracting from the rating: the water tasted a bit like soap last time, and make sure that the expensive shrimp dishes have the stated number of shrimp 🍤 😀].

We have been here a few times already since they have been open and the food is outstanding. Top quality, generous portions and excellent flavors. Always friendly service too. A cut above the rest for sure!

Really delicious and fresh tasting food. Nice menu with a good amount of variety. I'm very happy these guys moved to the neighborhood.

Burritos, on point. Especially their burrito Dorados. Nacho fries are amazing as well. They had great flavor, came fully loaded with all the toppings, def recommend. Only thing I'm not a huge fan of is their regular nachos. Chips are too thin to hold up, and the layering isn't great. Overall service is always on point and they have a great new space to hang out and have a nice dinner and some drinks. Glad to have em in the neighborhood! My family has lived in this area for multiple generations, so when this restaurant reopened as Chuy's Fiestas I was so happy. I already knew of their yummy birria tacos and nachos from ordering from the Mission location, so I'm happy to support another local business. I brought my family to eat dinner here a couple weeks ago and I was pleased. To drink I ordered a Margarita, it was made with agave tequilla but the flavor was spot on. My partner ordered a modelo and we had colorful chips for the table with salsa. To eat, I ordered the Volcano Carne taco and Vampiro Birria Taco, the Birra was the BEST. Huge chunks of stewed beef and the handmade tortillas were so comforting. My guy ordered the carne asada fries, my kid got the kid's quesadilla with fries and my mom ordered the chicken enchiladas locos (three different sauces). When we walked in for dinner, the place was empty but it quickly got filled up with people. I can see this being another neighborhood favorite.

Hefty burrito filled with crispy, meaty carnitas, tender pinto beans, little cheese with fixings packaged in a golden brown crispy tortilla (air-fried at home): https://tinyurl.com/295z86d6 I usually prefer my food lightly salted but I found it didn't have much flavor so the mildly spicy salsa roja and creamy avocado salsa verde came in clutch. * Mole de Olla: Mexican Beef Stew ($14.50): https://tinyurl.com/36r7zf5z - Includes rice and handmade corn tortillas Mole de Olla translates to "pot of mole" but it's a not the "mole" you think. This beef soup has tender bone-in beef, potatoes, chayote, carrots, cabbage, and corn. Hearty and comforting but similar to the burrito, it didn't have much flavor so the onions, cilantro, and squeeze of lime helped. It lowkey reminds me of caldo de res with a chili hued broth. O T H E R I N F O * Complimentary chips & salsa. Their avocado salsa verde is my fav but they only give you one 1.5 oz sauce container for your entire order. * Proteins: Asada, pollo, birria, carnitas, tinga, chorizo. No offal available. * Festive dining area with about 10 tables. * Difficult street and residential parking.

I've gone here for take out burritos a couple times and it's been great. My go-to burrito spot in the neighborhood. Definitely nice to have an alternative to Corneta, which can get busy and is a little overrated IMO. Finally dined in once and it was decent. Got the quesabirria plate and it wasn't bad, though I probably wouldn't get it again. Next time I'll ask what their signature dish is. Staff is sweet, ambiance is decent, hasn't been crowded at all so easy to get a table here. The convenience factor is a huge plus for me.

Came on a Friday and it wasn't that busy. We ordered the crispy flat top burrito and the aguachile. Both came with chips on the side. We really liked the burrito. The grilled tortilla really takes it up a notch. The aguachile is a good mix of sour and spicy. Might have a little too much heat for some people. It has a fair amount of shrimp too, so it makes up for the price. Inside was very clean and had a fun decor. Would definitely comeback for the burrito and to try some of the other items on the menu.

Nice service and tasty food! Only complaint was the floors and tables were sticky. Not like dirty sticky, just using the wrong kind of cleaner sticky.

This place is brand new, clean & quaint. It's tiny & nearby my home. A huge plus is the fact that this place has TACO TUESDAY! $8 for two tacos that are heaping with fillings! I got the black bean taco with veggies & it came in a rectangular boxes with a grilled 1/2 pepper , onions & a freshly sliced lime. Services aren't bad at all. The cashier is patient & the cook is well dressed & doesn't complain about orders. When I want tacos that aren't Taco Bell Or my own homemade ones, this will definitely be my go to spot!

We had relatives visiting from Europe and ate at a number of SF restaurants including this one. On their last night we asked what they wanted to try and they said, "let's go back to Chuy's". Big portions of really tasty food in a cute casual atmosphere (and margaritas for $9.50!) Eat in to benefit from the hot fresh crunch of fried deliciousness. My favorite was the fiesta combo plate, a massive combo of flavors. Others loved the nachos, birria tacos, and super quesadillas. The only suggestion would be more sauce on the enchiladas locas (three different sauces) as they were kind of dry. Overall a really great time at this new-to-the-neighborhood restaurant - we will be back!

The food was so fresh and delicious. we had a sampler plate that was so delicious .Im so happy to have this restaurant so close to my house .

This place is really good. The Torta Loca was amazing, big, delicious, savory, one of the best tortas I have had. The other dish that was great was the carnitas quesadilla. Big portions that are perfect to share or to eat the next day. Excellent food!

Omg where do I start? I Love the food! I ordered a Molcajete and it was awesome. My food came out steaming and tasting great. My friend ordered chilliquiles and he said it was great yet very spicy. The mimosa was good and the horchata was a 7/10. Overall great.

Food was great. Have had several items on the menu, really good shrimp tacos. Place to go if you like Michelda's. Very friendly service.
