I used to really enjoy coming to Chuy’s, but unfortunately, a lot has changed recently. Each time I visit, the restaurant seems to be short-staffed, which affects the overall service and experience. Several areas, including most of the dining space, are often closed off due to staffing issues, and there’s a persistent leak near the bar that hasn’t been addressed. The biggest disappointment for me was the creamy jalapeño dip — once a fan favorite, it’s now noticeably saltier and more watery than it used to be, which really takes away from the enjoyment. As for the food, the Tex-Mex cheese enchilada was overly sauced, lacked cheese, and was much spicier than expected. I also ordered a quesadilla, which was just okay — nothing memorable. I really hope Chuy’s can return to the quality and consistency that made it such a great place to dine.

I’ve never been to chuys before coming here and had a pretty good experience! We went there during lunch time and service was quick, food was great, and company was great! Would come here again for a nice and fast lunch!

Several co-workers and I visited this location today while on a break from a training we were attending. We had an hour, and within that time, all we were able to obtain was our drinks and a dip. We had to get our food to go and it was brought to us without any silverware or napkins. We ended up being late returning to our training and had to eat our food once we got back to the session. We were never offered a discount, a coupon for next time, or even an apology. Our waitress was very inattentive and never even refilled our drinks while we were there for an hour. Once we were finally able to eat, the food was cold and lacked flavor. I was very very disappointed with the whole experience!! It was not up to the level of service I've had from other Chuy's locations.

Google
The 💥 Boom Boom Enchiladas W rice and beans were so good just the right amount of Heat and Flavors were so good would definitely recommend if you have never been here Staff was friendly and knowledgeable and Margaritas were the best Love this place will definitely come back💙❤️💙❤️💙❤️

Google
Service was friendly and fast. Everything we ordered was super good. I recommend the beef fajita burrito with their boom-boom sauce. Tres leches cake was a winner too. Its actually a HUGE slice. I forgot to take picture until after i devoured 90 % of it.😋Atmosphere was sports fan friendly with big tvs everywhere.

Google
The only Mexican restaurant that I’ve ever been to where they do not have any hot sauce. Get some hot sauce please. Get Crystals… get Tabasco get Cholula‘s something…. anything. The margarita was good. Watermelon on the rocks.

Google
We came here for dinner because my boyfriend had won Coach of the month earlier this year and received a meal certificate. The food was good and service as well. Mark Wilson the GM came out and spoke to us and gave a congrats to my boyfriend. That's top tier customer service to me and after hearing how they support and do a lot of things for the local schools, we will be back!

Yelp
Chuys has a change a lot in the last few years Prior to 2020 before the pandemic, the menu was full and had so many great items that has been taken off the menu. During the pandemic the menu shrunk drastically they took many popular items off the menu and are no longer there. One of them was veggie enchiladas to name. I get the situation that was happening but the items taken off, some should've came back onto the menu. since my last couple of visits I spread my time to visit on certain occasions and I didn't feel the same way as I did years ago the chips were warm and felt like as they were not fresh. I like the jalapeño dip is the same flavor but I feel like the last couple of times that I've gone it was bit watery not sure who's making the batches of sauces but are watered down. Also, on my last visit, I heard overheard servers talking about other coworkers which is not cool if this issues in the restaurant, let it be between yourself on text email or outside of the restaurant not for customers to hear. Maybe it's just this location that is going downhill but I will not be back here. I sure hope this works out.

Yelp
This is like my 4th time here and each experience is different some good some bad. This day was good. Little to no wait, waiter was attentive, food came out hot and it was cooked very well. Plenty of parking, Bar area, new items on the menu, and the cost was reasonable. The boom boom sauce is a must even with the $2.00 upgrade on some menu items.

Yelp
One of our "indecisive" go-to places. We always order the same thing. The Chuy Chonga and the Big as yo face burrito. The wife stepped out of the norm once and got enchiladas and they were decent also. With the Boom Boom sauce.. customer service is always good.

Yelp
Terrible terrible location. We love Chuy's but this location has to be the worst restaurant experience I had. AC was dripping all over me, I moved. Our party took FOREVR to be brought drinks, about 45 minutes. They weren't even busy. Another family who got there after us left LONG before we were even given our drinks. Our food never came out after waiting over an hour and a half. Don't know what was up with the server who spilled salsa all over my car seat. He kept forgetting to come check on us, and we ended up having to leave without even being served food. Don't know how this place is still open with this kind of experience

Yelp
This place is okay. Plenty of parking. And always full. They showcase themselves making their own chips, but the chips are so airy, I hardly taste any masa. The portions are big, I see why it's texmex but it's definitely more Texas than it is Mexican. Maybe it is because I am comparing it to SoCal, but even in a more American standard, I would not recommend this place to others. I do give it a 2 as still better than other options around the area. Service is also slow, like it took an hour to get the food out. Ambiance is like a diner that serves Mexican food. The quirk of it is cute but that alone can't save the value of the food and service alone.

Yelp
Visited on a Sunday, it wasn't too busy. There is outside seating available but be sure to check with host/hostess. Upon walking in was greeted and asked number of party, it was only me so quickly sat in the bar area. Upon sitting, bartender came and brought menu & chips, the infamous Chuy's Jalapeño cilantro dip and salsa. Chips break easy & were bit warm, but also have some hard pieces, think I got more small broken pieces than regular chips. I ordered according to the drink menu, The Strait Skinny, basically a skinny Rita. It was refreshing and well balanced & mixed. Tequila didn't overpower the drink. My actual waiter, Keaton, came around a bit after the bartender asked my drink order. He was servicing other tables but he was quick, attentive & friendly. He checked in on me throughout my visit more than thrice, which was very much appreciated. I ordered the fajita combo, served with refried beans, Mexican rice, choice of corn or flour tortillas and side of guacamole, pico de gallo, cheese & sour cream. The fajitas arrived sizzling, both the chicken and beef were juicy and flavorful. The tortillas had an ok flavor, they'd tear easily when made into a taco even though they were a bit thick. The place overall is fun and lively, depending the day and time could be busier than my visit. The were playing good music the whole time I was there. Also, It can get a bit cold, which I'd rather be cold than hot in Texas suggest bringing a sweater in case you get cold easy.

Yelp
They continue to mess up my order. I ordered and they gave me the wrong order. Bad consumer service

Yelp
If this is where Chuy's is headed, the franchise is in trouble. My recent visit was with a party of 7. We didn't wait long at all when we arrived, but once we were seated it was almost 15 mins before someone came by to take our drink order. I could tell the waiter was flustered & it wasn't hard to tell why - he was covering a large section all by himself. In the time while we waited for our drinks to arrive, every adult around the table mentioned how loud it was in this restaurant. For myself I ordered a fajita bowl with beef, but I was brought a fajita bowl with chicken. Waiter said he heard me say "chicken" instead of beef, but the adult sitting closest to me confirmed after he left that I said beef. From the other end of the table I heard my niece order a quesadilla plate with fries, but the waiter heard "with rice." Are you seeing a pattern here? On top of the poor service due to noise & over-worked staff, the food quality was just really low. My wife's chicken flauta plate tasted awful - dry & bland. It was very clearly a low quality "chicken product" of some sort. My 2 oldest daughters commented that 1 of the 3 types of enchiladas on their mixed enchilada plate tasted ok, but the other 2 didnt taste good or were very bland. All in all, with the huge number of TexMex options in the Houston area, I would rather go to any other one at this point than Chuys.

LaTanya M.

Yelp
I wish i had taken a photo....Service was mediocre. We had to ask for salsa 3 times, a refill and napkins. The manager did try to accommodate us but overall the food was not worthy of the name. My taco bowl was cold. The manager did ask if i wanted my order re-cooked. I opted for something else. I thought a fajita taco would be easier but the presentation gave it no justice. I ate it because i was hungry and it was hot. I'll spend the money and go to lupe tortilla next time.

Yelp
Here's what I appreciate about this establishment. The food is consistently good. The staff are friendly, quick and responsive. And you can get a table with little to no wait. Also they have a separate room for large parties which we used for a birthday celebration. The manager, Diana, and all the staff on hand were brilliant. Unfortunately each time I've eaten here I have been really hungry and dove into my food without taking a picture so maybe if I go back again soon, I can add it. I really enjoyed the Elvis Presley combo and also the chicken taquitos are delicious. Other favorites include the appetizer plate.

Yelp
Creamy Jalapeno Dip is our favorite service was great, the food was excellent, the Music was awesome. We had the pleasure of meeting Mark W. the General Manager and he was so nice. Thank you.

Yelp
This is a good go-to stop for some good Tex-Mex! Every time my bestie visits from out of town, we tend to go to Chuys for some margs and Boom-Boom sauce. Their food is good; I tend to order the chicken enchiladas with boom-boom sauce, which reminds me of a spicy queso, and a side of their jalapeno ranch. One of my favorite things about Chuy's is their salsa bar- they have some of the best pico-de-gallo, in my opinion. The staff has always been friendly and quick, and the vibe is definitely low-key and chill.

Yelp
The food was good like always & the service was fast & great customer service from everyone. OMG playlist today, August 31 between the time I was there from 1:20and 2:10 I was enjoying the music that playlist was awesome all the last 80s and 90s music was awesome I didn't want to leave. I can actually say I enjoyed my food on this day.

Yelp
Took an hour to get our food. Chicken was discolored. My sons fries were cold. My beef quesadillas were very salty. Our drinks had no ice. Bathrooms were disgusting.

Yelp
Great service, Patty was so nice and attentive. Manager was really customer-friendly and the food was good. First time here, will def be back

Yelp
It was ok but wouldn't go again. Their "salsa" is like pico. wasn't a fan at all. The food was mediocre at best. The service was great!!!

Yelp
PLEASE BEWARE - Food was horrible chip sauces were some kind of ranch, sour cream cilantro mixture which was gross, and the red sauce was like a mild can of Rotell and very bland. Worst thing was the Cascadia's were hard as a rock and you could tell they were microwaved to death with bland cheese and frozen chicken fajita. Worst of all, the food was so bad we asked for a box to go as we were going to bring it for the dogs, so our Waiter boxed it for us, and we settled the check. As I waited for my granddaughter to get back from using the restroom, I then went to the restroom myself to wash my hands. Low and behold our waiter came out of the toilet stall and walked straight out on the floor without even washing his hands and filled up chips for the new table that just arrived sitting next to us. He also used his hands to adjust them in the basket after using a scooper that they measure them with. I will never go here ever again. This was the Chuys in Humble, TX on 59 in the BestBuy parking lot area. I should have called him out, which made me write this review. A free diner or refund would not have me return to this place.

Yelp
Had an another great TexMex Dinner tonight at Humble Chuy's, as always. Store Manager Mark Wilson and Assistant Manager Jersey have taken the Humble Chuy's to the next level. Whether they're mingling, making sure everything is just right or back in the kitchen overseeing quality, consistant cooking, everything is always perfect! Nothing compares with Chuy's authentic Southwestern American Mexican food including New Mexico cuisine's influence, Hatch green chili salsa and green chili rice. Add to this their version of Tex-Mex, i.e. cheese enchiladas, queso, fajitas and most importantly their Chili con carne (Chuy's Tex-Mex). Unlike some Mexican food restaurants, you won't find free ice cream. Extra incentives (beyond their great food) aren't necessary to lure you in and keep you coming back. If that's not enough, Chuy's is reasonably priced. You wont pay steak house prices for their unique tasty cuisine, but you will get the best tasting food.

Yelp
Chuy's has become a quick favorite! I love the laidback vibes and pictures of all the cute pups decorating the space. We were greeted and seated quickly. Once we sat down the greatest thing happened and they brought out chips, salsa and the best creamy jalapeño dip I've ever had at a Mexican restaurant. We went through several servings and I even got some to go! On to the food and drinks... everything was delicious. The Paloma and Mexican martini were a hit. I tried all of the food in the photos and my favorite were the shrimp tacos and chicken enchiladas. Our server was very attentive and the manager checked in with us and took plates out of our way after our meal. We will definitely be returning!

Yelp
Coming back into Houston from IAH and the bf was hungry so we decided to stop at Chuy's since it's been awhile either of us had been to Chuy's. The restaurant had a 20 min wait, so we opted for bar seating instead. The service was a bit on the slow side but that's ok - it was expected at a chain restaurant like this. We ordered the tortilla soup, the panchos with beef/chicken, the steak burrito and a margarita on the rocks! *Panchos with Beef/Chicken Combo - Wow, I have never had a nacho this bad. Like seriously, how do you screw up on nachos right? Well, this one came on a huge chip (like half a crispy taco shell) per "chip".. it was covered in cold cheese, with guac and jalapenos BUT the chicken/beef was flavorless, cold and dry! Ack! It was so gross we barely ate more than 1-2 "chips" and threw away the rest. 1/5 *Steak Burrito - I didn't taste any of this but the bf said it wasn't good. I'm assuming the meat was the same as the one on top of the panchos. The green sauce was super spicy and didn't add to the flavors at all. He seemed disappointed but I won't rate this dish cause I didn't try it myself and can't vouch for it. *Tortilla Soup - I remember really liking the chicken tortilla soup at Chuy's. This one was ok - the broth was fine, though it was lukewarm and I wanted some hot soup after a long flight. The chicken pieces were on the dry side and it was hard to eat. I thought it was ok - nothing to write home about though. 3/5 Overall, this was the worse Chuy's experience I've ever had. I don't remember Chuy's being so bad - but maybe it's just this location? The chips were greasy, where you can see the oil it was drenched in. The meats were dry and bland and tough. Even the margarita wasn't good. We wouldn't come back here - the normal taco bar with the spices/pico/salsa was empty. The restaurant wasn't as clean as it could be - especially the bench seating. I think the Kirby location is better inside Houston - I'm sure hoping it's not Chuy's going downhill cause I remember thinking it wasn't bad and actually liking it. I really wanted a tres leches cause I remember liking that as well, but in the end I decided not to order it here cause of how disappointed I was with everything else.

Yelp
We have been to Chuy's numerous times, but have never sat on the patio Cute ambiance and they welcome dogs! Our server was Brandon and he couldn't have been nicer! We both had fajitas...shrimp and chicken and steak...excellent! Prices are reasonable We will definitely return!!

Yelp
For a nice, fast, and friendly place for lunch, Chuy's is a good choice. The inside of this place offers a lot to the eye. Eclectic, classic, and just plain cool. (Hope you like Elvis.) As for the meal, I had the chicken enchilada. It came very quickly and served nice and hot. The chicken enchilada was good. The side accoutrements were rice, which was tasty, and beans which too were pretty tasty. My colleague ordered the boom boom chicken enchilada and said it too was quite good. Our server was terrific. He wasted no time bringing out fresh and warm chips along with two dips to enjoy. He was constantly checking on us refilling our sweet tea (which was very good) and checking in on how we were doing.

Yelp
Mediocre at best. We have eaten at a Chuys in Indiana and we liked it so we kept wondered why this one would be a 3star. Now we know. Haha. The service can not be labeled even mediocre. We walked in and the host and hostess were were very distracted but we weren't in a hurry so just waited, the hostess finally asked how many and told the host to go seat us. He walked to a table put the menus at each place and walked away. Hmmm, not a very friendly fellow. Our waitress was standing nearby and looked over at us with a look of " not another one!" She took our drink order and brought my them back. Took our order. The food came out hot and super quick. Tho it wasn't amazing in flavor, it was so so. The waitress on the other hand ditched us after that. We could see her in the kitchen chatting with everyone. Finally when we were ready to go and had wished for a drink refill for the last 15 minutes she came back. We asked for refills to go. Took forever for her to come get our card to pay and finally another waiter stopped by and asked if we'd like him to take care of it, he took it and she brought it back. So there's my long story of our experience. Haha Don't bother going. Not worth it.

Yelp
Texas classic. You can't go wrong. I've been going to the Chuy's chain since the 90's. The Hubble location is as awesome as the Kirby location. Got the comida deluxe, deluxe queso and a couple of a couple of cocktails from the happy hour. Kaitlyn (I am not sure if her name's spelling) provided top notch service. The right balance of attentiveness and giving time to enjoy the meal. She even took care of a change of mind on my part.

Yelp
Humble location is always our meet up spot for Saturday lunch but today we had other plans so we ordered some top shelf margs to go. Was met at the front hostess deal by manager Mark Wilson who delivered our order and said "it's been a tough week for everyone these are on the house". You said it Mark, this past week's storm has been another nail biter for everyone but it's people like you that put the human in humanity. Thank you Mark Wilson- this was more than just a free margarita.
google avatar

Yelp
Food sucks but the frozen margaritas are a ten out of ten! Staff is super friendly. The decor is too much for me but I think that's their vibe.

Yelp
Overall impression: Great food, great price, great service Average price: $8-12/meal Positives: -food was all really good -service was absolutely superb (like a 5 star restaurant) -cheap -clean -free parking Negatives: -none identified Had a great time here. Our waiter was amazing. Always come through with fresh chips and water on a regular basis. He was really fast. And he hooked me up with taking the credit card under the table so my father in law didn't see me pay. The portions are huge. I had the tortilla soup which has always been great. The queso appetizer was also delicious and came out hot and fast. Everyone else's meals were also delicious. And they let us stay for an extended period of time to just hang out. Surprisingly, this place wasn't too crowded on a Saturday for lunch.

Cameron P.

Yelp
The service we got was top notch. The waiter was on top of literally everything in an instant. As for the food, you can outright taste how fresh their ingredients are. Their burritos and enchiladas are top tier and still less expensive than most other restaurants in the area. Proof you don't need absurd prices for absurdly great and quality food and service
google avatar

Mark W.

Yelp
How can you go wrong at Chuy's? From their light crispy chips, the jalapeño ranch dip and salsa and great entree options, you will leave happy and full! Great service, great food!
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped by for lunch. Adam is a great attentive server. I ordered taco salad with chicken fajita with cilantro vinegarette dressing. Very fresh and delicious. Husband got steak burrito with hatch Chile sauce and he loved it. Definitely will visit again.

Yelp
Great food! I had such a spread. The waiter, Frank, was nice..almost a little too persistent lol but it's cool. That spicy ranchero dip was so bomb! I also like that their salsa has tomato chunks in it. All of the food was good. Check the pics! The retro/vintage decor gives it a nice diner kinda feel. Vibrant, welcoming atmosphere. Once again, they didn't disappoint! Chuy's is quickly becoming one of my favorite places!

Yelp
I wasn't sure what to expect with some reviews being less than on point, but we went. Our hotel took us and dropped us off so that was nice. It was a busy Saturday evening so not surprising the parking lot was stuffed, it was loud and busy. Its a Saturday, so thats to be expected. Once inside the decor and throw back colorful booths were fun. Seated in a good amount of time was a surprise. We went at 5:30. When leaving folks were waiting for s table. Our waiter Frank was very helpful and even with the place jammed he checked on us and our food arrived in good time. We were warned it might take a while with how busy it was, but it seemed ok for us. Our food was fresh and hot. Loved the toppings and cool drinks. Pleasantly surprised. Hope to go back maybe on a Tuesday at 3 and see what happens

Yelp
There is something about Chuy''s that's a little different than most Tex-Mex restaurants. Yes, you can get the staples of enchiladas and fajitas with beans and rice. But you're not going to get the multitude of sauces and food combinations in portions that are slightly larger than most of the other places. Combine the food with an impressive choice of margaritas and other cocktails all enjoyed in a unique and festive atmosphere results in a fun and satisfying dining experience.
google avatar

Gabriel G.

Yelp
Chuy's, why did you disappoint me? It had been a while since I had been in a Chuy's restaurant but when I saw one across the freeway from my friends hotel I suggested we go so he could satisfy his Tex-Mex cravings. The place was almost full at 5:30pm on a Wednesday. We got a table and ordered two plates of tacos. He ordered the ground beef tacos and I ordered the tacos al carbon (I.e. steak tacos) and we waited. Our waitress offered us their chips and salsa. The chips were thin and crispy and the salsa was totatoe-y and very mild. They offered another salsa that strangely tasty tasted like ranch dressing. It was good but not very Tex-mex. Then the main dish arrived. The smell was amazing, and the steam was still coming off of the meat. But when I took a bite into the taco I was surprised by the shoe leather I found in it. Blah!!!! I hoped that that was the last bad bite, and with hope I bit into it again. Nope! It was still tough. The plate had two tacos on it and I had to pick through them and cut the meat into edible sized pieces. Hmmmm not gonna do it. Will I go back oh.........NO. No thank you.

Yelp
Spent a few days in the Houston area on vacation and absolutely loved the food here. The service was great and the enchiladas were absolutely wonderful. I can't say enough good things. I really am surprised by their low ratings on Yelp.

Yelp
I usually love Chuys. However I got really sick this last weekend from my curbside order there, a steak burrito. I was so bummed because i had specially budgeted to get it, and immediately after eating it I was sick. :( I reached out online asking for a refund because I'd love to stay a loyal customer but something was wrong with my order, either the way the steak was cooked or if it was left out too long with the curbside orders. Disappointing so maybe I'll try another location.

Andy O.

Yelp
Always had great experiences here (prob had lunch here 100+ times but have changed jobs since). Food's always delicious and can't say one negative thing about the service! I do wish they'd change their menu up more than the hatch chili month, but maybe that's just me
google avatar

Tabitha B.

Yelp
This place is really good, the menu did not have a huge selection (which I find is easier to chose what I want to eat). We had Steve as our server and he was great. My friend had the ground beef burrito (it was spicy) and I had the Chicken Flautas (it was seasoned prefect). Definitely recommend trying.
google avatar

Donna A.

Yelp
I love Chuy's. Their food is amazing, but the Meir curbside is severely lacking. We sat for ten minutes waiting after we texted like the sign said to do. We literally could see our food. No one bothered to let us know texting does not work and we needed to call.

Yelp
I love the creamy jalepeno dip! So delish! I had the fajitas recently and they were so delicious!

Yelp
Hands down the best! My classmates and I always come here after our taking our last final! Monica always takes care of us in the party room since our group is always so large. She's very attentive and quick on her feet! Thank you Monica for taking care of us!

Yelp
We had a big layover and this was 7 miles from the airport so stopped by for a quick dinner. The waiter was super nice. His name was sean. I ordered the beef burrito which was a huge portion. They did mess up my order and brought me the Chicken/beef burrito combo but were quick to replace it once I told them if the mix up. The creamy jalapeño sauce was really good. A huge portion burrito plate was around $10.00. Overall it was a good Tex mex quick stop.

Yelp
This is a very upbeat eatery. Our waiter was well seasoned. (Pardon the pun.) He really wanted us to have a great experience and it reflected in his work. Their margaritas are really good, too. I have always had great meals and great times here.
google avatar

Terri S.

Yelp
The atmosphere was great and our waiter was very friendly and outgoing. I wasn't a fan of the white dip they bring with the chips. It basically tasted like ranch. Not good for a Mexican restaurant. I'm used to the green avocado salsa. The queso was absolutely amazing. The enchilada platter was delicious as well. Wish they could bring back the taco bar.

Kimberly G.

Yelp
Happy hour stop on way home! Easy to get to and great drinks! Wish they were closer to Kingwood Central!

Yelp
The place was alright honestly, the food wasn't really special however, the only good thing that I would come back for here would be the tres leches cake.

Yelp
Pros: great salsa, funky decor, cool t-shirts for sale. Cons: mediocre food, inattentive staff, no paper cowboy hats in the bathrooms. There must have been a dozen people working there but they seemed too busy flirting with each other to remember we asked for water. I came in starving so I was prepared to love anything they served me. The chips and salsa were really excellent and the margaritas we ordered arrived immediately (do they have some sort of slurpie machine back there?). The "enchiladas" came out looking nothing like enchiladas and were disappointingly bland. They came out exactly as described on the menu, no extra "special sauce" or depth of flavor or something else to excite the taste buds. They did open up a nachos bar as we ate (in anticipation of happy hour?) which was nice but by then we were pretty stuffed. Overall I'd come here again for happy hour but I'd then leave and go somewhere more authentic for dinner.

So it was very busy Tuesday night at your establishment but the wait was not very long and everyone was really courteous so I was impressed. We realized that y'all closed at 9 so we just order queso and get the rest of our order to go. The waiter was very nice and he came back quick with everything. So again I am impressed. Then my husband and I get back to our hotel room with over $70 in food and realize there is no silverware or tortillas to eat our fajitas with. I guess it's our fault for not checking the bag but I must say pretty disappointed. The food is still in the hotel fridge.
