"If you're looking for a pretty typical North End place complete with white tablecloths, a Sinatra soundtrack, and a server who will always recommend the bolognese first, head to Ciao Bella. It has two dining rooms - a more casual and fun bar downstairs, and a quieter upstairs overlooking the cobblestones of North Square. The food certainly isn't bad, but there isn't really much to distinguish it from any one of dozens of other nearby restaurants." - Dan Secatore

Quick and tasty takeout in a Friday night from Ciao Bella Worcester. Walked in all the amazing food smells hit, and I didn't realize they have indoor seating here. There were maybe 8 or so tables that were all full. Our food was ready promptly after a half hour after the order was placed online. They have a great pizza, steak tip ceasar, & lemon chicken soup.

Ciao Bella has been a take out go to for our family for many years. A few weeks ago our child was craving cheesy, garlicy goodness with penne. We didn't have any fresh mozzarella on hand, so we decided to order the Pasta Olio with mozzarella and garlic. We paid $13+ for the sad excuse of pasta shown. The bowl was maybe 1/3 full and very little mozzarella. Not happy

We have ordered takeout from Ciao Bella for years. The quality of their food is usually excellent. Today, I made an error and ordered the wallet saver Italian sandwich instead of the Italian grinder. The sandwich was disappointing. The sweet flavor of the brioche bun fought with the flavorful meats. Also, the bun was too delicate to hold the meats and Italian dressing. It collapsed and made a mess. The seasoned waffle fries were tepid and soggy from the dressing. For $4 more, I recommend getting the grinder on Italian loaf. We usually can't finish it in one sitting and the leftovers hold up well until the next day.

We went there tonight..Sunday around 4:40pm. I got the Italian sandwich on Italian loaf...loaf was stale. Meat was just average. My fiancée got chicken parm on panini...absolutely horrible. Dry. Totally ridiculous. This used to be my go.to place back in the day. We live on Cape now... couldn't wait to grab a bite to go...such a let down. Do better. You're not that great if you're only great "sometimes" I swear the staff here acts like they are the best. Like..."yo, who's next" yawn. Boring at best. Thanks for the let down.

Google
How did I JUST find this place! I was in the mood for an Italian Sub so I just googled what was close checked out reviews and the menu and thought this is it. I called I placed my order of an Italian sub and a meatball sub. The girl on the phone was absolutely amazing. Fast forward to me driving there didn't even realize it was less than 5 minutes from my house I passed it all the time had no idea it was there, granted I've only lived in Worcester for 2 years. When I walked in the atmosphere was so friendly, I just knew this was going to be my new spot and I was right. They make their own Italian Loaf in house, and when I tell you I did not get a sub I got a half a loaf! This Bears repeating their sub is a half a loaf of bread, delicious homemade bread. I was floored when I opened my sandwich it was huge and the most delicious Italian sub I've had outside of my own home! The meatball sub was perfect not too much cheese a generous amount of sauce and stuffed with homemade meatballs. If you have not tried this place you need to go.

Google
Amazing Italian food! I eat here a lot and everything I've ordered has been excellent. Delicious!! Finally tried the pizza a few days ago and it's sooooo good. If you love Italian food then you have to swing by Ciao Bella the next time you're out this way.

Google
First time here tonight and happy we came :) You walk into such a tiny spot! And are blown away by the size of the menu!!! Lol. I still don't get how they can do so much. But the food was wonderful. Definitely coming back <3

Google
I love every dish here for the first time visit. The bread is warm with unsalty but flavorful dipping sauce. I planned to share the dish with my family, and the kind waitress had them separated into two plates before serving, so sweet! And the size of the half plate is similar to a full size in other restaurants. Everyone in the party loves this restaurant and we sure will come back!

Yelp
Do not bother ordering the salad. My Syrian salad was basically just greens with two cherry tomatoes, two olives and about a tablespoon of feta. Not worth the 12.99 price. I've had this salad in the past and it was really good, what happened?

James C.

Yelp
Pizza toppings fell off and was the most underwhelming experience I have ever had. Two pizzas, a chicken parm and salad cost $75. They are crooks with these prices and terrible quality. I will never be coming back again.

Melissa O.

Yelp
I really love this place, but nothing is worse than expecting a bright, crisp salad since I'm also stuck working on New Year's Eve and getting a salad full of brown lettuce. Say you're out. Please don't make your customers pay for this! $10 (or more!) to throw it in the trash.

Alex K.

Yelp
Meh. Ordered a Greek salad which consisted of - spring mix, Some cucumbers, cherry tomatoes and a boat load of feta cheese. Not sure how that is considered a Greek salad. Also got pizza, which was good. But not more than 3/5

Victoria W.

Yelp
Used to love this place for good allergy friendly food but Today was the WORST experience ever!!! Tried to get the 4 cheese gluten free pizza and it looked like plastic! All of the cheeses were put in the middle of the pizza and not spread out across the pizza! I ask for light sauce and receive NO sauce! It wasn't edible- it was like plastic! We called and they redelivered and this time it arrived cold still no sauce at all on the pizza, I just don't want my pizza dripping with sauce so I ask for light sauce but NO sauce! Cold on a hot summer day??!! We started the process at 12noon and the 2nd pizza arrived by 3- I was so hungry I was crying! What a disappointment!!! Don't eat here! They don't care about the quality of their food!

Jose L.

Yelp
I ordered from there for the first time today for delivery. They made my pizza completely wrong because the young kid who answered was incompetent. He answered the phone like it was his first day on earth. I brought the pizza back and the guy who answered the phone handed me my pizza and he even looked like an idiot. Apparently he just learned how to speak. That's being nice. He obviously doesn't follow directions very well.

Cathy C.

Yelp
I use to buy my salad there all the time when I worked on Park Ave so I ordered it today what a disappointment 2 olives 1 cherry tomato a few onions greens were not very fresh was supposed to be with tuna which they forgot to add All do $10.99 Lost me

Patrick B.

Yelp
You ask a friend to give you some advice on where to get some good pizza, you get one answer, ask for great pizza and one answer comes to the top. (Ciao Bella) Looking at the menu and the different choices I selected the large four cheese and the large meatballrony, both pies were cooked deliciously and perfect. I want to try their salads, but the pizzas were a big hit! will be back to go for more!

Ally P.

Yelp
Delicious Italian food, I have been ordering here for years. The balsamic and vinegar dressing is so good, they make it really well. The salads are always really fresh. Carbonara might need a bit more salt. In the picture I added pepper. The chicken is so tender. Great food always!!

Maral M.

Yelp
Oh! I can think of a million ways to explain how awesome this place is, but I'll list a few. Was feeling a little down yesterday and was craving something to cheer me up. So I figured I'd come on down to Ciao Bella. I ordered the pasta with clams/cream sauce and a Caesar salad. The lettuce was fresh and crispy, and the dressing was on point. Now the pasta......absolutely....AMAZING!!! Just what I needed. It definitely hit the spot. Also, the staff is super kind, helpful and friendly. Definitely coming back again!!

Susie Q.

Yelp
We ordered the pesto pizza and it was very disappointing. The pizza overall was super dry. Very little pesto and it overall tasted like a flat bread. Pretty sad that there was so little toppings that you could see the bread in the middle of the pizza. Also the cheese on the pizza is terrible. Texture is also bad since it's squeezed from a tube. The Greek salad on the other hand is decent. They do pack the container with fresh greens and they give a lot of cheese. The bread that goes with the salad is decent.

Yelp
I am sorry to have to post a negative review as I usually only post glowing reviews. I am not complaining about the food as I have enjoyed it in the past-enough so that it was my go-to place driving back and forth between NY and Maine. Today I called 25 mins ahead of my arrival to place an order for a Syrian salad and an Italian grinder-the woman answering the phone called me by name as it was in the system and she commented that I obviously had ordered from there multiple times. So when I arrived ( after driving three and a half hours from NY) I asked to use the ladies room ( mind you I was properly masked) and I was told yes- but as I was about to enter I was told no- the rest rooms were not for customers. ( the restaurant was open for indoor seating and customers were seated at the tables) I am totally shocked and dismayed and sorry I will not be back to Ciao Bella on my return trip :-(

Yelp
Ciao Bella catered my father's Mercy meal that we had at our church hall. We were impressed with their professional wait staff and the presentation of the meal. The food was delicious, the fish was baked to perfection and the orzo with vegetables was a big hit, they even offered vegan options for my guests. The freshly baked bread was such a bonus and the rice pudding was always my dad's favorite. My family and I are so very pleased and thankful to Ciao Bella for making it such a memorable experience.

Lydia D.

Yelp
My dad got a sub and he kind of has a complicated order but they got it 100% correct and it was delicious he said!

Amanda M.

Yelp
I've been here a few times years ago before I was a Yelper and absolutely loved it! I was in the area and ordered take out last night and it was just as good - if not better than I remember it! My go to is the Monterrey Chicken panini- sooo good! My sister had a few bites and said she's likely to go there for dinner tonight! Sandwich is a decent portion for just $10, cant wait to go back!

Cheryl M.

Yelp
It looks like a hole in wall type of place in Worcester, MA., I stopped in and it was good. If you love Italian food this is where you should go! It's a small place but very yummy!

Alex 7.

Yelp
Panini is good Kids love the pockets pizza reminds them of hot pockets but better Subs are full of meat (pause) Pizza are fresh too And staff are really nice

Linda N.

Yelp
I usually don't write reviews and we have ordered from here multiple times and the Italian sandwich is always on point. This time the sandwich was off and it didn't come with the Italian bread it usually does (maybe my boyfriend didn't specify). The boneless Buffalo wings was horrible.. chicken was chewy like rubber and the breading was soggy probably because the Buffalo sauce was not put on the side and poured on the breading. The breadsticks was probably the most decent thing we got but it was hard. I don't know what happened and why this time the food was so bad but it really made me not want to return back again.

Meagan R.

Yelp
Takes a lot for me to give a 1 star review but when more than one person in your party gets sick after eating different meals, something is wrong. Second party got sick on 2 occasions. Food causes GI issues!! 2 different meals I ordered were extremely bland, as well as burnt. On a side note, the food looks, and smells AMAZING, the girl on the phone was patient, and the service was fast!

Yelp
I have been ordering from caio bella for a long time. This place goes above and beyond to not only make there customers happy but keep them happy!.. I had a small issue a couple weeks ago and the owner went to the next level to make things right... Caio bella is a small business here in worcester and the food and hospitality that provide is second to none!!!! I can't say enough about this place I will FOREVER be a customer .... please try this place you will not regret it.!!!!!!!!

Matt B.

Yelp
The menus options look great at this place and it was hard deciding on what to get. I decided on the pesto pizza and from the looks of other reviews, they are consistent with overcooking it. Very dry. I like how they give bread while you are waiting and the marinara for dipping was very good. If I go back, I would try the pasta or wraps... definitely not the pizza.

R P.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious!!!! Huge (absolutely huge) portions. Ended up with a food coma. We did take out snd everything was nice snd hot! Ciao Bella is our new favorite Italian restaurant.......already have picked out what I want to try next!!!

Temujin L.

Yelp
Every time I order and ask for anything extra they would say yes and never delivered. They will charge you extra for it but when you get home or back to work the stuff that you had paid for and asked it's never there. Some time I question myself why do I still come here. Well the pasta dishes are pretty good. I had chicken with asparagus and asked for extra asparagus. They charged me $1.99 extra and when I got home I found 4-5 strings of thin and wilted asparagus in my dish. I called and complained then they said I will have a credit towards my next order with my phone number. These people charge you more for their food and when you ask for specialized dish they charges you more but delivered less. The reason I give them 2 stars is because the food tastes pretty good.

Veronica S.

Yelp
My dad and I order from Ciao Bella maybe 3 times a week. They have different specials every day for lunch and dinner so if you haven't signed up for their email list, you should. I think I've had everything on their regular menu that I now only get items from their specials. Last special I had was the Italiano Trio... I loved all of it.

DQ S.

Yelp
The dinners are great -- especially the specials of the day. Huge portions that two can share. The best marinara sauce in town. The pasta tends to be a touch over cooked - but just a touch. The pizza ... this is sad, but it's changed earlier this year. The crust, which used to be just amazing, is now very bready, too soft and puffy. I've asked about it and the reply is always, "We have a problem with the oven, but it's being fixed." But 9 months later and the problem persists. They used to have the best pizza -- hands down -- the best in Worcester, but now we're trying other places. Very sad. Delivery has improved, by the way. Always within 20 minutes, lately.

Dawn E.

Yelp
Uh... interesting. This is an eat in place that looks like a take out place. I ordered a soup and some bread just as a quick meal because I was starving but there would be dinner later. I didn't realize they had table service.. it's doesn't LOOK like they have table service. The soup I got was really good but they wouldn't let me eat it there since I didn't order from a table so I had to eat it in my car.

Kelly Y.

Yelp
Well, we all love Ciao Bella. But not tonight. We called in our order on our way back from Boston, so we could swing by and make everyone happy when we arrived home. So...we wicked disappointed when we asked for their delicious bread and were told, "we don't really do bread." Ummm. Wait. What? Everyone loves their bread. We looked at each other. We turned around to see all the baskets of bread on the tables. I said, "you don't do bread?" "No, not really." I mean....we just laughed and realized she just didn't want to deal with us. It was just a weird and rude exchange. My crew orders a lot from here, and in fact does a lot of catering business for meetings. We're still talking about our sad experience. The pizza was good. But the customer service was terrible. That's the piece that makes regular customers start to look elsewhere. "We don't really do bread"

Trina K.

Yelp
I was in town for training and decided to check out this place again. I would order take out with a group but stopped in to order a pizza. I decided to try the spicy chicken fradivolo. It has buffalo tasting chicken, sausage, jalepeno peppers and mushrooms. It was so good. I love spicy yet tasty food and this was a perfect combination. A small pizza is huge. It has 8 regular size slices and it's about ten dollars. My only regret is I can't get it again anytime soon.

Robert C.

Yelp
The Porchini Pizza is amazing...it has the perfect blending of Sausage, peppers, pepperoni, mushrooms and onions. The boneless chicken fingers are homeaide and ever so yummy. Hands down..the BEST item on thr menu is their Cheese Pizza. It is the best pizza we have ever had in this counry! If you try anything try this!

Mia C.

Yelp
We had a great meal at Ciao Bella tonight! The veggie lasagna was scrumptious as well as the salads and warm bread. We had an excellent server Andrea! Would highly recommend . Many coming in and out for Take out as well .

Rick C.

Yelp
Best food in Worcester. Easily the best catering I've had. Completely surprised at the quality that is maintained even in large quantity orders. Best takeout food in the area.

Vicky T.

Yelp
Not impressed. Ordered both chicken and veal parmesan with extra cheese (add $4 each) and the cheese was still minimal. Came with the smallest piece of garlic bread that was barely seasoned. Missed the mark all around: sauce was very salty, breading was soggy and had zero flavor. The only good thing was that the pasta was cooked well to avoid becoming mushy from all the liquid in the bottom of the dish from the sauce. Delivery fee of $4 and came in 45 minutes as told when the order was placed. The food was cold when it arrived, which I can somewhat understand, but the quality didn't outshine anything. I don't plan on eating here again. Chicken Parmesan and Veal Parmesan with extra cheese, delivered =$45 without tip. Not worth it.

P C.

Yelp
We order from this place all the time. 1-3x a week. I ALWAYS ask for forks/knives and spoons(im at work) thet always say ok and NEVER send them. Last night we ordered, asked the driver if there was silverware he said yes.there was noneAGAIN!! we ordered the hummus appetizer that is supposed to cone with red onion and pita brwad. There wasplenty of pitabread, just 3 dried up slices of onion. 3 strikes. Im done. Our average billis about 50-60.00 a time

Christopher B.

Yelp
Always a great meal - meatballs are great. Love the bread and sauce. Greek salad is the best!!!

Willy R.

Yelp
One of my favorite pizza spots. Love the meatballroni!

Tamara F.

Yelp
We ordered quite a few meals tonight. Our Vegetarian daughter ordered Fettuccini Alfredo with veggies. We arrived home to discover it also included chicken. We called only to have a new order delivered to us within 25 minutes including a free salad as well. Amazing food AND customer service!

Catherine F.

Yelp
Highly Recommend Ciao Bella exceeded ALL EXPECTATIONS! I catered a full Garden Party Bridal shower from Ciao Bella this weekend. The food was FANTASTIC! Greek Lamb and Chicken Shishkebob skewers, Spanakopita, Pita, Hummas, Tzadziki and an authentic Greek Salad with fresh cucumbers, tomatoes and red onions. Everything was cooked to perfection. The Lamb Kebobs and Chicken Kebobs were seasoned with authentic greek flavors and were perfect. I would recommend Ciao Bella to friends and will definitely cater any large or small event with them again. Thank you to owner Ernie for his personal attention and to the cooks who prepared the wonderful food!

Ashley M.

Yelp
I have gotten good here multiple times and it has been amazing each and every time. Pasta fresh, meat perfectly cooked, seafood fresh. I had a craving for mussels and they came to the rescue. Reminds me of the local place from where I grew up. Not to mention, the meatballs are amazing. If you are from jersey or New York... This place will make you smile.

Nathan D.

Yelp
Pros: THE FOOD. It's amazing. Some of the best in the city despite prices that have crept up over the years. Cons: The dine in service. Ugh. It's a small place with less than ten tables. Recently sat down and waited five minutes for a server. Asked and was told it would be just a minute. Kept waiting about ten more minutes. A waitress helped another table before us and seemed to know them. My group left - really turned off. Such a shame. In short - get take out. It's delicious.

Ravuth O.

Yelp
The waitress was great, but the food was not. I ordered suasage and pepper sandwich and it was cold and dry and could not finish it and asked for the check. My first trip I ordered an Italian grinder and it was good. Maybe there good at making cold food. The desert is the same. I ordered the carrot cake and it was ordinary. I had better at Walgreens Dish Aisle where they sell the fruits. Maybe because the where I live all the Italian Restaurants are always competing against each other and if they are not good the establishment would go out of business. Sorry for the harsh review.

Christina P.

Yelp
2 stars BC the first time I came here the butternut squash bisque was great. This time they served me a burnt eggplant sandwich. I sent it back to the kitchen and the waitress showed it to the kitchen and they said that's how they serve it...claiming it was roasted. Total BS I tasted it, burnt to a crisp was the flavor. Ended up eating the bread and drinking my water and leaving. Not so enjoyable...

Jessica D.

Yelp
We just moved to Worcester, and finding this amazing place that offers delivery was a great start to our new life! We have now ordered twice from them, and the pizzas are incredible as are the pastas. The delivery driver was super nice and the prices are right. Very excited to live close!

Noelia C.

Yelp
One of my favorite Italian places in Worcester. Ciao Bella is an awesome place for take out or for casual dining. I enjoy their salads and entrees. My favorites are the Greek salad and the chicken parmesan. The staff is always attentive and pleasant. And the desserts are very yummy.

Vera T.

Yelp
Randomly closing early so I give up. This feels like the millionth time they closed earlier than their posted hours, I can't really rely on them to be open when I'm planning what to eat when I get outta class. Sucks cuz I liked the food.

Todd Z.

Yelp
Damn good sandwich! Had the buffalo grinder. Gigantic! Literally to big to bite, probably 4 - 4 1/2 inches thick. Tastes great! Givem a try

Susan W.

Yelp
Loved the food and delivery was quick. Delivery man waited patiently for me at the location where I was meeting him.

Jay H.

Yelp
The owner treats his employees with zero respect you can treat him like a god and he will still treat you very poorly it's extremely over priced for what it is most of the staff is great the owner just doesn't understand treat people how you Waac too be treated

Michael N.

Yelp
Ordered take out many times before and always had great sandwiches. Usually got the same roll up - Mellanzane. Decided to try another one that contained grilled chicken, feta, spinach and hummus. Got it home and waited awhile to eat. When I finally opened the box, red onions fell out of the roll up. out. Two problems: no red onions in the description and there was no feta in the roll up. Had to take it apart and pull out the reds. Very disappointing they couldn't get a real simple sandwich right. Guess if I do go back, I'll stick to my old standard.

Prim Z.

Yelp
The pizza I ordered for pick up was pretty good- crust was tasty and toppings were perfectly proportioned. I wanted more after I ate! The meatball grinder was average- the meat was dry and salty, but the sauce was good and the bread was soft. The portion was big enough for 2 people to share, but I don't think I'd get it again. The most disappointing was the garden salad: $5.99 for a lot of iceberg lettuce and, I promise I'm not exaggerating, 2 slices of tomato, 2 kalamata olives (which I found the next day), 3 slivers of red onion, and 1 whole sweet pepper. Oil and vinegar provided was oil-heavy with a dash of vinegar. I've gotten some fantastic salads from pizza joints before, so I was surprised by the salad's lack of...everything. Get the pizza and you'll be happy!

James R.

Yelp
Went with my wife a few weeks ago. Have had their takeout before and food had always been OK. We figured we would try stopping in on a Friday night. Literally one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. The hotshot young girl waitress could ruin a 5 star meal with her rotten attitude, but that was far from the case. Chicken parm sandwich was ice cold in the middle. It had obviously been cooked earlier and just thrown into the oven. Gross. My shrimp scampi was 6 way over cooked shrimp with pasta and an emulsified pile of butter. One of the most disgusting things I've ever ordered from anywhere. When the waitress came and asked how everything was, we nicely said, "honestly, we were pretty disappointed with the food" and told her about the temperature. Our food was barely touched. Hotshot waitress responded with, "sorry" and walked away. I asked her if we had done something that offended her and she didn't even look up from the cash register. Food was awful but that girl was a certifiable jerk who doesn't deserve a job anywhere. Will not only never go again but try and steer everyone I know away from this place. Too many businesses want your patronage to give a dollar to this place...
