"When one thinks of dining in the Keys Italian food isn’t the first thing that comes to mind, but with the addition of Ciao Hound at Postcard Inn, that is quickly changing. Italian favorites like lobster ravioli, calamari, and its popular flatbread pizzas fill the menu, all washed down with Italian style cocktails like negronis and peach bellinis." - Mary Jo Almeida Shore, Olee Fowler

Really delightful dining experience! Many of the pasta dishes are vegetarian, unless you choose to add meat. The serving sizes were extremely generous, and everyone at our table (Vegetarian or not) found their dishes fresh and flavorful. The staff provided top notch service. We took our dog, she was brought a bowl of water almost immediately. There's also a menu just for your pup, if you choose!

Fun family style dining experience at The Postcard Inn (AKA The World Camous Holiday Isle). Greetings from the Manager at the door. Friendly service from Kevin who arrived with a great big smile and a wonderful attitude. Delicious food - Chicken Parmigiana, Flatbreads and more. The sound is loud and joyful with everyone sitting and enjoying the food and the company. Stop by and try.

Google
Such great food! You will not leave this place still hungry. From the bread that is served that basically melts in your mouth to the chicken parm that has a hint of sweet and the perfect amount of noodles. I ate the entire bowl! It is a bit loud in here as there are no sound barriers so the noise travels. As long as you can get close and talk over the noise the food will make up for it all 😍

We enjoyed the Ciao Hound so much during our stay at the Postcard in that we ate dinner there twice! They were very accommodating with us both nights...we had an 11 person party. Great food and wonderful service!!! Kid and dog friendly!

Google
Unforgettable food, experience and service! Our server Edwin, "one of a kind"! Outstanding, well rounded and solid good at what he does! The food is just perfect. Great combination of flavors! If you are in Islamorada, please don't hesitate stopping by for an amazing food and service experience. Definitely returning!

Google
This place is great. Food is soooo delicious! We got the meatballs (yummy) and the prosciutto flatbread. Both were great. And for the drinks we got the mojitos. They’re perfect. Not too sweet, you can taste enough the alcohol without being too much. And the strawberries and mint on it give it a good flavor.

My sister and I enjoyed a beautiful meal here last night! The lobster ravioli was very flavorful and our server Edwin made the whole experience perfect. Will definitely be coming back.

Google
One of the most exceptional dinner experiences we had as a family in the Keys. The food, including lobster ravioli, lasagne, and seafood pasta was fantastic. The thing that pushed it over the top for us was our server, Edwin. He was lively, funny and genuinely concerned that we were enjoying ourselves. We will come back to see Edwin again the next time we roll around Islamorada!

Yelp
I only ordered take out from here so I can't really give a full review since I couldn't experience everything. We ordered 2 flatbread pizzas to take back to our room at the Postcard Inn. It took a minute for service to attend to us while we waited at the hostess stand. We saw some staff standing around to the side but it didn't seem like anyone wanted to come over. Alas, a pleasant server came over and took our order. He instructed us to sit outside by the fire pit while they were being made. He missed an opportunity to offer us a glass of wine while we waited but oh well. The flatbread pizzas were made promptly and we walked back to the resort. My husband really enjoyed the Fungi pizza and I though the pepperoni was fair. I'd definitely give the restaurant another shot and try dining in next time. The outside seating area looked nice and comfortable with good ambiance for a meal. Until next time...

Whitney M.

Yelp
First, the bread and oil to start off were beyond delightful. Which kind of ruined the appetizer we ordered which was the spinach artichoke dip and was somewhat meh. The pepperoni flatbread was okay, but pretty basic. They could really use a wood fired pizza oven. The dough was plain and soft and I like a bit of a crisp flatbread/pizza. The lobster ravioli was AMAZING though! I was a huge fan! The tiramisu was also really good. All in all, I would go back, but it wouldn't be my first choice. Probably a second or third night on the island dinner.

Corinne L.

Yelp
Food was just ok. Nothing great Flatbread was bland. Fish dry. If you want to fill your tummy it's ok. What Italian restaurant runs out of Chianti. Just sad.

Ted W.

Yelp
Upon walking in the hostess wasn't very pleasant. She didn't even meet eye contact with my wife and I, nor did she wear a smile. Just sat us and walked away. Not a good start to what I thought was an excellent meal. Antoine was a very pleasant waiter. Smiles and very attentive. We were sat outside. A perfect warm evening with no wind. The ambiance of this place was nice. Soft lighting and romantic atmosphere is very mood setting.

Beth F.

Yelp
Great service (Kevin was awesome!) and the food was delicious! We've been here before and it was just as great as we remembered. We had the mussels (which were fantastic and prepared in a spicy tomato sauce) and the shrimp scampi (which was also delicious. Highly recommend!

Reese W.

Yelp
5 Layer Cake & Villa Dolce Gelato Flavor was good but the portions were lacking given the prices ($9 gelato. $10 cake). Cake was dry.

Ann D.

Yelp
Had such a lovely time last night. Charlene our waitress couldn't have been sweeter. She was very efficient and friendly. She offered her advice and I really enjoyed the Rigatoni with vodka sauce. My husband loved The chicken parm. The restaurant is beautiful and very clean. We were staying next door at the Postcard Inn marina. Lovely short stroll. Plenty of outside tables even with fire pits.

Lew L.

Yelp
Stay away! We were staying at the Postcard Inn and figured we could get a decent Italian meal without leaving the resort property. Hands down the worst Italian food we have ever had. My wife ordered the lobster ravioli (it wreaked of fish) and I had the chicken Parm( the chicken was marginal and the pasta was only half cooked). We only ate a few bites of our food and asked for a check. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Beatrix R.

Yelp
This was stop on our way to Key West. During this trip we were trying places based yelp recommendations. Solid Italian food, the lobster Ravioli was good. The appetizer's portion is very satisfying. We had Garlic Knots, Bruschetta,. Shawna our server was super helpful. The reason for 4 star is, the Marcela was little disappointing. Fun Atmosphere, beautifully decorated.

Kathy H.

Yelp
Update your website, states you're open when you're closed!..Took the drive only to waste time and gas..

Heather C.

Yelp
Another great Italian pick for the Upper Keys! We were seated outdoors and started with the free bread and oil, where they adorably spelled out "ciao" with balsamic! I really appreciated the touch. Service was super friendly and they spent a good 10 minutes trying to change the channel of the TV for a particular game. I had tea as well which was delicious. I ordered a veggie pizza with no cheese, and I loved it! The veggies were cooked well and the crust was tasty. This place is great for a family dinner on vacation.

Ron M.

Yelp
Service was good and friendly but the food reminded me of a bad Olive Garden and I don't have a high regard for Olive Garden

Crystal R.

Yelp
This place was really nice. We didn't have a wait and was seated immediately. They do have a fire pit outside if it's chilly out and you to warm up. They do have indoor and outdoor seating. Very clean inside. The service and our waitress was super nice. They were short staffed, but she was great at getting everything out as fast as possible. The food was great! We had the calamari and caprese salad. The calamari isn't very large if you have more than 2-3 people but it's very tasty. The caprese has only one slice of tomato but it does come with a good serving of cheese. The entrees were also very good. I had the penne vodka. It had a great flavor. Comes with slices of Italian sausage. The special with crab, lobster and risotto was also super good! The drinks we had were good. Bar tender made them all perfect.

Joseph A.

Yelp
First, when we sat, there was only one other table being served so they were not busy. The waitress seemed like she didn't know the menu. The food was bland. Family member ordered gluten free pasta and sent it back twice because it was not cooked throughly. Guess the waitress was upset, because we tried to order coffee twice and we were ignored and she just brought us the check. We were never even asked by her if we wanted anything else. The waitress never even asked the person who never had an dinner if they wanted anything. Definitely wouldn't recommend this place. I could see if it was busy, but they weren't.

Sarah W.

Yelp
I will start with the good and I absolutely love the concept and ambiance of this place! The patio and amenities for dogs with the menu is adorable! I wish that we had our dog with us on our trip because I've never seen anything quite like it. There's an area for leashes and dog beds and it's all so very fetching if you will. Although I'm not sure if the pet scene is more popular during the brunch/breakfast hour because we didn't see any fur babies while we were there other than a cat that seemed to be managing the restaurant as he was doing the rounds from table to table. We had the calamari, Chicken Parmesan, and Pasta Primavera. The calamari was pretty good. Everything else was just okay. The Chicken on the Chicken Parmesan was decent, but it had way too much sauce and it was watery. I literally had to be super careful not to splash on myself when I was eating it. My husband's Pasta Primavera was watery as well. Our server was really sweet but it was her first day and I think she was nervous so she kept calling us my honeys, my sweets, and my dears, and it got a bit over the top. Maybe because we're not from the south but it was weird. Idk anyways it's possible we caught them on an off night but as far as those two dishes go I was definitely not impressed. Super fun concept though! And the patio is really pretty.

Anna L.

Yelp
Aesthetically nice....supposed to be undergoing renovations soon according to the waitress but it doesn't look needed. Not sure if our waitress was having an off day but she never checked in on us after we received our food. I asked for my eggs over medium but they were cooked hard all the way through, however, others with me stated their food was good. Service was kind of slow.

Lee G.

Yelp
This place is located at our hotel's property, Postcards Inn. With a quaint, casual dining area, Ciao Hound did not disappoint! The bread, oil and balsamic was incredible. We ordered an appetizer of bruschetta that was one of the best we've had. They were unfortunately out of a Super Tuscan wine I was excited to enjoy. My boyfriend's steak was prepared to perfection and sides were equally as good. My chicken parm was very good reaching our normal Little Italy, Chicago standards. The service was good for the most part. The waitress did forget a few things, however. The overall experience here was grand.

A H.

Yelp
Good appetizers- mussels and calamari and amazing flatbreads. Also a kids menu available.

Jenny L.

Yelp
Should have known when only two other tables at 6:00pm on a Saturday. Bread was the best part of the meal. Ordered spaghetti and meatballs- portion was very small, meatballs had more filler than meat, sauce tasted like the sauce in a can of spaghettios. $26 for small portion lousy meatballs with cheap sauce. Bill came and it was for $28 menu said $26-wonder how often they try to get away with that. Watch your prices on your bill!

Yelp
We arrived right before their opening time and waited by the entrance in their super cute outdoor area. We heard the door unlock and then there was awkward silence. I walked over and opened the door and the hostess acted like she was bothered. You'd think once she unlocked the door she would have opened it and welcomed us in, but I guess she wasn't in the mood this day. She seated us and our very friendly server Kate came over to wait on us. In the meantime while we waited on our food, we had the displeasure of hearing and witnessing the hostess complaining about milk in her drink a coworker brought for her. Then the phone rang to annoy her even more because someone wanted to make a large party reservation. The manager then came over to take the call, loudly discussing that they don't take reservations but then seemed to come to some type of arrangement for the local on the other end of the phone. Kate brought us some delicious bread to enjoy. About 5 minutes later our flatbread came out and then our pasta dish (forgot to take pic) for the main course. All of our food was hot and very delicious. Our overall experience was pleasant, minus the hostess not seeming to enjoy her job and the distracting beeping every few minutes from the smoke detector. I get that people have bad days sometimes but when you are the first face of the company, you should put on your best fake smile for your patrons. Covid has hurt businesses enough... Big props to Kate and Chef and we will visit again

Shinta A.

Yelp
We really love the service and the food ...delisshhh...the appetizer the mussels were so delicious and I don't like that much seafood lol Sabrina the trainee doesn't need any training because she is the best of the best ...keep us the excellent work her trainer is super sweet as well Alyssa and the front hostess and host are super welcoming. Definitely will come back here again .... Thank you for the extra bread for our mussels and we are stuffed We got the Marsalla chicken and olive oil pizza with pepperoni and sausage ...sorry we were so hungry we didn't take any pictures

Teresa R.

Yelp
Fantastic wine dinner. Food was phenomenal and the wine pairing was spot on. Service was excellent. Compliments to the chef on a great experience.

mary e.

Yelp
We had a very nice experience here. Fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp was excellent. Ravioli with meatballs wonderful. Bread totally addictive. Waite (looked like Elvis) was so great! Would definitely recommend.

Kathy O.

Yelp
Ordered the Mahi Mahi, The worst & the smallest I ever tasted. Another person in my party ordered chicken Marsala. It tasted like beef ramen noodles with small& tough chicken breast. Our waitress was pleasant but the Hostess was not pleasant at all!!!! Would I recommend this place? Absolutely NOT!

B S.

Yelp
This is a fancier place for the keys so we decided to give it a try. The bread was very good but everything else tasted more like it was microwaved or reheated. We should have known when everywhere else has a wait and this place is basically empty not a good sign!!!

Courtney M.

Yelp
Amazing food and service! The bread, wine, and seafood linguine were fantastic! Great atmosphere and dogs are welcome! Must visit!

Allison B.

Yelp
Great service. Great food. Reasonable prices Highly recommend. Ate there for breakfast and again for dinner. Really enjoyed it both times.

Kay K.

Yelp
Edwin was attentive, friendly and made great recommendations. He served us at our desired pace. We had the Penne alla vodka and it was spectacular! Clean place, fun atmosphere.

Sheila R.

Yelp
Service is amazing - Kevin was just outstanding! Food delicious and the portion sizes were just right, not overwhelming. Best strawberry mojito I ever had!

Garreth S.

Yelp
Horrendous!!!!! Bread - Stale Spinach dip with crostini - no flavor and crostini rock hard and is was from the same stale bread. Caesar salad - not bad Lobster ravioli with shrimp - ravioli was hard, cream sauce was salty AF!!! Shrimp was bleach tasting and just plain bad. Fettuccine Alfredo - sauce was lumpy. They never checked on drinks once, brought a warm bottle of water and you poured yourself. To top it off... The HVAC was broke. Safe yourself a bad experience. Waitress was a nice lady though. She was also the bartender, so she was stretched thin. We did leave her a 15% tip, even though the place was really bad.

Stephen G.

Yelp
Had an iceberg wedge with blue cheese. Cold and crispy. The pizza was good, but everyone said it was, so it did not disappoint. Also had some broccolini which was good too. I would come back here. Service was attentive.

Cindy C.

Yelp
May I give them 10 stars???? Outstanding in the service, menu, atmosphere and taste options! I visited while staying in Islamorada and since moving to Marathon have visited a couple of times. I enjoy the Rat-Pak Era music, the Peach Bellinis, Rigatoni Ala Vodka and Grouper Puttanesca. The bread is so awesome as well so be careful you don't fill up on that. I've had two different servers and they are outstanding; Shawna and Eric. I'm always too full to order dessert but need to go back for some of that as well. Coffee is also rich and smooth.

Debbie W.

Yelp
First time visit to Ciao Hound. We tried a couple of appetizers, meatballs (amazing), Mussels (amazing). Our meals were delicious ....Only thing I was disappointed was the service was a little slow. Now since we are not in season was hoping for a better night !!! Over all great food !!!

Cher H.

Yelp
Food was AMAZING. We came in late and were treated great and given amazing service. The appetizers were delicious and different than I have had before. The outdoor patio is gorgeous and relaxing.

Mark K.

Yelp
Food is very good. A might over priced but worth the experience. Edwin is an amazing person. Check this place out!

Amy D.

Yelp
We recently stayed at Post Card Inn & Ciao Hound was on the property. Hubby & I had dinner the first night. His steak & veggies were so good. Great flavor & cooked to his liking. They had a potato casserole that was thin layers of potato layered, yumm. Hubby loved the bread! I had veal marsala with a side of spinach. The veal was tender & mushrooms fantastic. Spinach & garlic was fresh and so delicious. We went for breakfast on Sunday. The special is Lobster Eggs Benedict. OH MY GOSH!! It was so delicious. Perfect texture & flavor. The Staff is super friendly! I do suggest making reservations for dinner or go early. About 6:30, the tables were full & people were waiting because they did not make reservations. They have a full bar & I plan to try the Ocean Mary next trip. At dinner, I had the house red and it was ok. A bit tart. Hubby had a local beer & liked it.

Connor H.

Yelp
Service was alright, the food was decent, and the overall price was the most expensive breakfast i've ever had

David T.

Yelp
Food was fairly good, service is marginal. Bar is not that big and still pretty tough to get service before dinner. People are friendly but I can't say the place is that good for the money you spend.

Jenna F.

Yelp
Entrees come out in about 10 minutes after ordering, so I ask "what happened to our appetizer?"... Everyone else has warm bread and the famous "Ciao" olive oil plate on their table expect for us, so after not even getting our appetizer and once we were done with our entree the waitress asked if we wanted dessert but I said "every other table has bread can we get it too?" So we had warm bread for dessert. The best part was the waitress made a point to say oh we took the appetizer off your bill! Wtf. You didn't bring us an appetizer, why would you make it sound like you're doing me a favor... Food was so bland and swimming in sauce it was disgusting. Service and food sucks, decor inside is cute (which is why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1.) Don't waste your money!

Sean J.

Yelp
Absolutely phenomenal Italian place right off Highway 1! My wife and I drove down here to check it out one night, mainly because Homestead and South Miami food is pathetic. We were pleasantly surprised to find this place and completely amazed by the food! I got a simple margarita pizza and she got the snapper francese...both were amazing! The service was excellent and the atmosphere inside almost makes you forget about the line of cars outside trying to make it down to the Keys! Excellent place for couples, a family, or even just a group who's traveling by! The ONLY issue I would say is their drink prices are ridiculous, especially for the Keys with so many bars super close by. But, if you know this ahead of time and just stick to the food, it'll be well worth the price. For comparison, I was charged $44 for two shots of grey goose in club soda (they were supposed to be double shots, but I watched the pour...single shots). I could have bought two full bottles of grey goose for that price. So just beware...especially on the weekend nights when you want to relax with a drink. But that being said, if you go in knowing it's a little pricy...but that the food will be absolutely worth it, then I promise you won't be disappointed!! They even have a puppy menu for bringing your dog on then outside patio, so we're gonna try that next time with our giant pooch and see how she likes it! Love this place!!

Haden G.

Yelp
We loved Post Card Inn and Ciao. I didn't know what to think about Italian in The Keys, but it Ciao didn't disappoint. Good atmosphere with enough shade to sit outside. If I was a local I would hang out here.

Marilia S.

Yelp
Horrible breakfast. Mt order came without thr bacon and the potatoes were awful and cold. The runner was sweet and brought us another side of potatoes that they fried and it was disgusting and hard. The service was terrible and the staff seemed to be afraid of management! The waiter never came to ask how we were doing or if i needed more coffee! The music was loud and I asked the hostess if they could play something different and she had an expression of fear on her face! We come to Islamorada often but never will be back to eat her! Bad everything! Really bad!!!!

Han S.

Yelp
The food was good but the service SUCKED... not worth it . Terrible service. Wish I could give time more

Priscilla J.

Yelp
I was on vacation with friends at the Pelican Cove Resort right next door, and we were feeling lazy about going too far for dinner. Being from NJ, eating Italian food in Florida felt a little wrong and very risky. But I am happy to report that everything we had was delicious. I had the Chicken Parm, and my only complaint is that I wished there was more when it was over (my fault since I was so surprised by how good it was and sharing bites with my friends). Tiramisu for dessert was very good. Service was great and very patient with a couple more high maintenance orders. Would have loved some complimentary bread at the start of our meal. Overall an excellent experience.

Ellen H.

Yelp
We really wanted to love this place. The food was excellent, but the bugs on the patio & the odd service made it just 3 stars. Perhaps we hit it on an off night, but it wasn't what we hoped it would be. Housemade sangria & bruschetta are 5/5.

Joan K.

Yelp
We had a fantastic breakfast here. Food was excellent, fresh and large portions. Our server was Anton and he was very good!

Terry R.

Yelp
Very disappointing, pasta was good but who charges $24 for a martini? Manager was not interested in my cocern at all. Waiter was great!

Maxine D.

Yelp
Tasty, American-style Italian fare perfect for families. The dining area is homey and intimate but very casual, as most Keys restaurants are. But it's also new and polished, a rarity in old-school Islamorada. In any other place, I might complain their menu isn't very authentic--the pizza is better than delivery, but not mind-blowing. Even so, it's yummy enough after a long day of chilling out. More to the point , the service is fantastic--Andrea in particular is sweet and efficient to the max.

john h.

Yelp
We come here every year. We just went to go there. Website said open. We walked in , not one petson or staff in establishment. We used restroom and realized they were closed!!! We come to find out they were closed but website said open but doors were unlocked . Unbelieveable but they should be glad we are honest ppl or we could of made our drinl and foo! Absolutely craxy@

Cristina K.

Yelp
Wayyyyy overpriced. The bread they bring out when are seated was the best part We got an appetizer of calamari and it looked like they threw some on the plate. There was probably 15 total. I got the chicken parmesan and the rigatoni pasta it was over was very bland. My husband got the special which was hogfish with a side of whipped potatoes. It was ok. The appetizer, and 2 entrees was $98 with tip included. Worst $100 ever spent. Drive a distance and go somewhere else!
