A Running List of the Best New Restaurant Openings in New Orleans | Eater New Orleans

"Taking over the former Bar Culture space on Tulane Avenue, I consider Ciao Tapas Bar & Lounge to be a tapas-and-lounge concept serving craveable pub food and a brunch menu with fresh spins on classics, while maintaining bottle service, occasional hookah, and lively neon-accented nightlife energy." - Clair Lorell

A Local’s Guide to New Orleans Restaurants, Bars, and Nightlife - Eater New Orleans

"This small and lively bar was once an old Mid City gas station — its owners were seeking a location to create an out-of-town feel with New Orleans flavor. The result is one of the neighborhood’s favorite nightlife venues, where you can also catch *fully loaded* chargrilled oysters, crawfish boils, and other New Orleans specialties." - Lynn Wesley - Coleman

Came here for my wife 40th bday. Everything was on point. Staff, security and Kierra was a good bottle girl. Preciate it. We coming back soon believe that.

Visited this bar/lounge, during a birthday party which my friend hosted here. I had visited once before when they’d just opened. My experience was just alright. Security guard acted as if he had an attitude. I believe there’s a patio in the back as well? The sofa’s were fairly comfortable to sit on, service was okay. Drinks were watered down. I most likely wouldn’t go back if it wasn’t for an event to support.

Great vibe! Shout out to Kierra!!! My husband ,Mr. Perkins, bought a section for us and our closest friends n fam to celebrate my birthday! Wonderful customer service ! Its was Afro-Caribbean night which was cool. We will definitely be returning next time we're in town! We love supporting black-owned business. I hope you guys thrive for many years to come!

So first, the bouncer searches me, no problem. . Then, tells me there's a $20 charge. I give him $40 for myself and my wife. Only to be told later that only men needed to pay. They out there side hustling. And the speaker in the back is broken.

DO NOT GO. Legit....there are sooo many better places to go in the city. The servers were nowhere to be found. We were told to buy a bottle which was $300 but they added a 20% gratuity automatically.

Yelp
We had such an amazing time at Ciao. Went with an amazing group of friends and made a whole bunch more between the friendly host, the engaging Afro queen DJ FTK, and some of the African well-known Actors. A great mix and an even better time & vibe. The food is small bites, finger foods including fries and chicken tenders, and such.

Yelp
I only gave this place a star because it was needed to write this review! Not the vibe advertised on their social media page! Social media page appears to be a high end/classy venue. Was very disappointed. Everyone was dressed too casual. Looks like a neighborhood spot. The bartender service was ok but the drinks were some trash! DJ played some pretty nice music. The hookah girl was very inattentive, took forever to bring the hookah, dropped it off and never came back. Save your money and just party somewhere on Bourbon Street!
