Our Best MICHELIN Guide Restaurants Near Paris’ Most Famous Attractions

"I found Ciasa Mia to be a charming Italian restaurant drawing inspiration from the Dolomites." - Caitlin Gunther

"In a side street near the Pantheon, this charming little restaurant with exposed stone walls and wooden furnishings has a rustic feel that calls to mind a chalet. At the helm is an Italian couple in their forties: he is in charge in the kitchen, she takes care of proceedings front of house, dressed in the traditional attire of the Dolomites. The food is presented in surprise set menus, in which an inventive spin is put on local ingredients and bitter flavours are subtly explored – a hallmark of refined Italian cuisine. A good selection of wines completes the experience." - Michelin Inspector

One of the best experience restaurant in Paris. The restaurant has beautiful charm, amazing service and delicious food. The food is surprisingly good, it is not normal Italian food : it’s something very special. We choose the full set surprised menu.

A truly perfect restaurant. Atmosphere: out of a dream, best I’ve seen on planet earth. So warm and charming it was hard to leave. Service: it’s in the name. Welcome home (as in: God’s house, you’re welcome- I cannot imagine anything better!) Food: so thoughtful, so full of love and inspiration . The most unique and soulful nourishment I’ve ever experienced in a meal.

We were so amazed by the atmosphere of the restaurant and the kindness of the hosts. They are so prepared and welcoming. The food was beautiful and delicious. We booked the 5 course meal and every course was a wonderful experience and surprise. I highly recommend this place. They deserve a visit if you go to Paris. :)

I hate to write this review. They service was excellent, the staff so friendly, the recommended wine pairing were perfect. A few of the dishes were amazing. The main course fell so flat that it we left with not a great taste in our mouth.

I’m not sure if they’re having an off day or what, but our experience definitely did not live up to how others have reviewed this place. For €85, the quantity of food was not worth it, the taste was subpar, and service was average. They must’ve changed up their menu because out of all the dishes, only two were good - the duck speck and the dessert. Let me review each course one by one: 1. Appetizers - tapioca chips with radish cream, carrot cake roll, and pork lard with bread - none of these stood out and lacked complexity in flavor and texture 2. Appetizers 2 - egg yolk - this is quite unique and tasted decent 3. Appetizer 3 - Parmesan puff with mushroom mayo and beet root with horseradish - this was okay for me 4. Course 1 - crab filling dumpling with chicken stock - this was interesting in a bad way. With the stock the bottom became soggy very quickly, the flavor was quite mild 5. Course 2 - duck speck - this was unique and delicious, I liked how it was presented, and the pickled onion really balances things out 6. Course 3 - pasta with almond filling and veal broth - this was okay, again flavor is super mild 7. Course 4 - fish sausage - by far the worst dish of the night. The sausage was extremely mushy and lacked any complexity in flavor. For the main protein this is a major disappointment and felt like they’re being cheap 8. Course 5 - dessert - this was delicious, I liked how it seems like a heavy dessert but the ice cream and other parts actually made it less heavy Service also leaves a lot to be desired - after we finished dessert and informed the waitress that we don’t need coffee or tea, she left us there for 20 minutes without bringing the bill or checking in on us. We had to try to catch her and ask for the bill. When I put down my credit card, she still gave the receipt to my fiance to sign even though she saw me taking it out of my wallet

Absolutely outstanding! So glad I stumbled on to this place for ma food blog review. It’s off the beaten path in a small and cozy little space. Francesca made us feel so welcome! The food was delicious.

One of a perfect dinners in my life A bit expensive but, it's worth to pay for it! The mood was quiet and cozy Server was so kind and nice And all foods were so great! It's Italian in French but I became to go Italy to have dinners like this I started with a starter of vegi chip/prendang/bread and a cooked egg (it was cooked inside but looked rare outside but was so nice and creamy with truffle sauce) Then another breas with olive oil Beans with cream and crunch Another breads Cabbage with cabbage sauce Gnocchi with vegi chip Duck with cooked potato (I couldn't take a pictur of potato but with was so soft and tasty) Vanilla sauce and bread The last sweets was the greatest Kakao chip and cream, and there was strawberry sorbet inside! Enjoy perfect Italian in France

Yelp
Be aware this is not your average Italian restaurant. This is Dolomite-Tyrolian's inspired cuisine. So please don't expect your traditional Italian pizzas and pasta. This said, the menu is innovative and very creative. But this is a set menu so you don't have any real choices. The service was on the cold side as our host operates very much like a robot. The chef and his wife are partners in providing an original mountain's cabins Tyrollean experience. The food was well executed and well presented. Especially the lake fish was cooked to perfection. The cooked egg yolk was really underwhelming and a weird dish. So this is a mixed review from a culinary perspective. The ambiance reminds me of a Gasthaus in Austria or Bavaria where the server wears a traditional dirndel dress. Overall I was disappointed not to have a pasta dish. The food was good but heavy on the bread and carbs. This is not my favorite Michelin recommendation for sure.

Yelp
This restaurant is in an unassuming location which really threw me off. Entering the establishment we were swiftly greeted by the owner who allowed us to pick our seating arrangement. The decor felt as if we were transported to a cabin within a forest and felt a bit eerie for me, but after we had conversation with the owner we finally felt less tense. She was an absolute delight and made the experience more enjoyable. Finding out about her culinary history and the obstacles it took her to open this establishment was enlightening and I could really see the work her and her husband put into each dish. Highlights of the night Smoked lamb The meat was succulent and the smokiness added depth to the flavors. I quite enjoyed this dish and the show that came with serving it. Spaghetti Perfectly Al dente and the sauce was creamy and coated the spaghetti evenly. Flavors and textures were all unique to me and in was a pleasant experience.

Yelp
A very creative, romantic and special small restaurant located near the Sorbonne. Wonderful atmosphere and service by the owner whose husband is the chef. Pricier wines brought the meal up to around a $100/pp but you could spend much less ordering more modest drinks.

Yelp
We got the big degustation. A lot of food. Most dishes very inventive and tastes great. Lots of surprises and great flavor. Solid service and an interesting decor. It was a good meal. We eat fast for three people took about 2.5 hrs. Well recommended and surely deserving of the Michelin star! See my pictures for more details. Easier for things to come back to me when checking the photos.

Yelp
When in Paris... DO NOT eat at Ciasa Mia. Seriously, don't. Overpriced, awfully rude service and the food was not only served cold but it was not good at all. As a matter of fact, none of us liked our food and we all ordered different things. Our server, who happened to be the owner, refused to make suggestions claiming it was "very dangerous" and she was really bothered to have to explain the menu. She kept talking back and making rude remarks. I wish we had walked out when we had the chance... Maybe the fact that the she wanted us to wait for our table outside in the rain was a sign of what was to come... Never coming back!

Yelp
A outstanding restaurant! We arrived at this small but charming place expecting classic Italian food but to our surprise they had a small inventive menu. We sat down and after ordering a bottle of wine plates started to come to the table. Small tastes from the chef. Amazing little taste such as a beer root meringue with horseradish cream and an egg yolk injected with mussel stock and truffle oil. Everything was so perfect and unique. My 16 year old son tried everything and he is not usually one to take food risks. The service was outstanding and totally professional. I would go out of my way to eat here again and I suggest you do.

Yelp
Weightless, Amazing Flavors, Beautiful Hosts! 5 of us meeting up in Paris sought this Michelin starred Italian restaurant! The chef emailed me personally to reserve. This was one of the most amazing dinners in my 52 years of life. I live in LA and visit Paris once a year for more than 14 years! Husband and wife team took care of us, it was raining and we had the amazing table in front of the fireplace! What we ate seemed weightless in our mouths, yet so much flavor..... that picture on the internet with what looks like an egg yolk on a spoon is a tease... when we swallowed that bite, the 5 of us looked at each other and could not believe what we were eating! It just got better from there! Come and be amazed by this authentic Italian restaurant, we already reserved it for our next visit!! Samuel, you are an amazing talent and wish you and your family an amazing future!!

Yelp
VERY DISAPPOINTING. Got charged €40 for an inedibly burnt dish of gnocchi, amidst an otherwise underwhelming meal - then got harassed with multiple belligerent phone calls the next day for having deigned to raise it! I generally don't like to write negative reviews but this warrants it. After trying to decipher the illegible menu and overcoming sticker shock -- and I'm not known to shy away from a splurge -- we ordered two pasta dishes, a spaetzl and a gnocchi. We were assured they were "copious" enough to be a full meal, I guess to justify the very punchy €40 / plate, but the dishes that ultimately came out were a huge letdown (and weren't even especially generous). The spaetzl was dry, flabby and bland - I would liken them to overcooked soba noodles. But at least it was edible, which was not the case for the gnocchi with mushrooms. Listed on the menu as "fumée" (smoked) the resulting dish smelled and tasted unequivocally of HEAVILY burnt eggs from a cheap, overused pan. My wife and I each had one bite and both found it completely inedible. The burnt-pan smell was so overpowering that its wafts even managed to ruin the nose on the decent wine we had. When we brought it to the attention of the waitress/proprietress, she insisted that it was intentional and that I just didn't have a taste for "aromatics" - always nice to be told that you just don't have good enough taste to appreciate the dish. At that point we'd had enough, but spent another 20+ minutes getting the cold shoulder before we could get someone's attention long enough to ask for the bill, and another 15 minutes waiting for it. And of course, the burnt gnocchi was still on the bill, despite my having sent more than 90% of the dish back untouched - the proprietress couldn't even look me in the eye as I paid. All in all a terrible experience from one I was really looking forward to based on the other reviews. Any restaurant can have an off-night - how you deal with it is the mark of class. UPDATE: the day after seeing my review posted on another site, the owners called me multiple times. When they finally got through to me, with what I was optimistically hoping would be an apology, launched into a vicious verbal attack! Found out afterwards they has also left nasty messages on my voicemail. Unfortunately, it was further indication that these are classless proprietors out to extort and berate their customers.

Yelp
There are meals that you start to sense the moment you walk in the door. They have all the hallmarks of a great meal, but the experience begins before the first plate, before you've fully absorbed the menu. That's Ciasa Mia. I've been absolutely paralyzed into indecision when eating in Paris, comparing review site after review site, and we were lucky enough to stumble onto Ciasa Mia by chance on TheFork.com [that's right, online reservations, same night - how?!]. A quick cross check showed them a TripAdvisor & Yelp favorite, and before I could look anymore, we committed. So amazingly lucky that we did. The tasting menu for 4 courses is 41 euros - our menu offered: Appetizer: Smoked Salmon [3 ways] with a horseradish cream, brioche soaked in oil with rosemary onions Plate 1: Bread Pasta [think Italian Matzo] with cuttlefish, smoked duck, in a kidney bean ragu. Plate 2: Caramelized scallops aromatized with pine, presented with oyster mushrooms, artichoke, polenta and truffle salt-infused baked potato Dessert: well, the pre-dessert was a poppy seed pull apart bread with vanilla sauce and dessert was an Austrian sugar bread with grape puree and vanilla ice cream In between each course was 1-2 other dishes and small bites. There was nothing - not a single item - on this menu that was not perfected by the chef and served exceptionally well by the staff. The textures, combinations and flavors were unique and stunning, and without hesitation I would recommend this restaurant, with the wood beams on the ceiling, soft candle light, dried flowers and compelling wine list, to everyone looking for that "great" Paris meal. The dining room was small and cozy, and YES there were French people there [that seems to be the big ask on the boards]. Ciasa Mia is a rare find that borders on perfection, and will likely only become more perfect in my mind as I relive that meal.

Yelp
The most ridiculous meal I have ever had. We were four -- there were two plats on the menu, one veal and one fish. The chef had already run out of the veal -- on a Saturday night -- so we had to make do with the pasta. It took forever. One would think that having run out of the plat, the kitchen would have been generous with the pasta, but one would think wrong. After more than two hours, for three various plates of carpaccios and four inadequate servings of pasta, plus a bottle of good wine, it was 260 euros. When we got home, I made spaghetti so my family would have eaten a decent dinner. Arnaque totale!
