Boston-Area Food Writers Name the Best Restaurant Meals of 2021 | Eater Boston

"A Vietnamese cafe in Central Square that recently launched a buzzy dinner service in a small, energetic space; standout dishes mentioned were a spicy lemongrass duck tartare and an oxtail pho, complemented by an excellent selection of natural wines (notably orange wines), making it a likely tough reservation in the year ahead." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

Cicada Coffee started out as a mobile coffee shop and now operates inside Cultivate Jax, a local store that sells eco friendly home goods, plants, and gardening supplies. It is a good fit because both places have the same kind of down to earth vibe. I ordered the first drink on the menu, the Cicada Mocha, and it was excellent. Smooth, rich, and just the right amount of sweet. You can tell it was made with real care. The setup inside Cultivate is relaxed and creative. There are plants everywhere, shelves full of local products, and a clean space that makes you want to hang around for a while. It feels local and genuine, not like a chain. Endia, the owner, brings great energy and clearly takes pride in what she is doing. The service was friendly, and the whole experience felt personal. If you are near Cultivate, stop in and grab a drink. Cicada Coffee is the kind of spot that reminds you why small local businesses matter.

how cute is this coffee shop placed in a super cute shop!! the person who made my latte was super friendly, even bringing my latte to me while i was browsing the store~ the drink itself was so yummy, i got an iced oat milk latte with their smoked vanilla syrup. the espresso was not overpowering or bitter, but wasn't lost in the milk or syrup either- it was perfect! and the syrup wasn’t super sweet either which is just how i like it (you can always add more if you like it super sweet tho!). anywho, overall great experience <33

One of the best new coffee spots in town. The shots are pulled so smooth and they care about the quality they deliver. I’ve only had a good experience here. If you love coffee and supporting local business, check this place out. Pictured is an iced Shakerato with Amaretto Cherry flavoring and it’s an absolute delight on a summer day. You won’t regret this place!

Cicada is one of those places you stumble upon and instantly fall in love. Tucked inside an earthy, cozy little shop, Cultivate. The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming — from the calming vibe of the space to the genuinely friendly owners. The drinks? Absolutely delicious! Whether I’m grabbing my regular or trying something new, the quality is always spot-on. I stop in at least once a week to get my coffee fix, and it’s become one of the highlights of my routine. If you’re looking for a warm, inviting coffee experience with amazing drinks and even better people, Cicada is the place. Highly recommend. ☕️🌱

I ordered the cicada mocha which was incredible. The flavor was amazing, sort of a spiced chocolatey latte. The flavor combination was very good. This would have been a 5 star review if the portion matched the price. I spent nearly $9 (including a small tip) for the smallest latte in Jacksonville. I would probably come back because it tasted so good, but I won’t be a frequent customer due to the price compared to the portion. The barista was very friendly and allowed me to continue shopping while they made the drink, and then they found me when it was ready. Cicada Coffee is located in a cute little store so it’s nice to walk around and look at what they are selling.

Cicada Coffee is just the addition that Park Street needed, it fits in perfectly with Cultivate & what they represent. It is a clean, quality filled, & FUN coffee cart! Endia and her sister are an awesome and welcoming duo and you feel right at home. My husband and I got a black cold brew and a short oat iced latte; the cold brew was very strong and tasty and the espresso in the latte was dialed in perfectly! Smooth and not overly acidic. The tiny La Marzocco that she uses for spro is too cute and a quality machine. The menu is concise & easy to follow and is filled with house made syrups & food, we didn’t get to try any this time but are excited to go back. We sat out on the deck and it was so relaxing and tranquil, we will definitely be returning for another great coffee date! Thanks for providing a wholesome & nurturing atmosphere!

A beautiful hidden gem nestled inside of Cultivate Jax. My favorite coffee spot in Jacksonville with an amazing curated coffee menu. The hand-crafted syrups are delicious and well balanced, I recommend the smoked vanilla and another favorite of mine is the cold foam, both are great in any drink.

I stopped by Cicada to try their coffee and was blown away! Their selection is impressive, and my iced vanilla latte (my go-to) tasted amazing. I loved the twist of smoked vanilla syrup—it gave the drink such a unique and delicious flavor. The cozy atmosphere makes it the perfect spot to relax, and what makes it even better is knowing you’re supporting a small, locally-owned business with so much character. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Really great coffee stand tucked inside Cultivate. I loved the Cicada mocha - I rarely go for anything other than drip coffee or cold brew, but the friendly folks behind the counter described it as something different, with cinnamon, nutmeg, and a touch of bay leaf. It really was unique! I'll definitely be back to try more soon, and to browse around the shop as well.

Yelp
Stopped by on our way to RAM, since we saw their sign out. The service was incredible, they co-owners were very friendly- bringing our drinks out to us as we browsed the store. The coffee is rich and they have get alternative milk options with unique add in syrups. Definitely worth checking out!
