Ciclo

"In this casual, centrally located restaurant divided into two sections (the bar on one side and the gastronomic dining area on the other), the cuisine of Cádiz is given a more contemporary twist. The enticing array of tapas and small plates (Ciclo salad, charcoal-grilled aubergines, tuna “cachopo” etc) is complemented by an excellent tasting menu." - Michelin Inspector

This restaurant offers a higher restaurant experience at a great value. Their tasting menu is not as long as others, but they deliver on each dish to a wonderful experience. The wine selection from local wines was also fantastic and the service was superb. They also accommodated us in a perfect space considering my father is a wheelchair user. Overall, we had a great time.

This cute little restaurant is a hidden gem in Cadiz. I can’t express enough how delicious the food was. The tasting menu surprised us with every dish. The service was top. The waiter speaks very good English and he was super professional. Highly recommend this place.

We had a wonderful experience eating at the Ciclo. The food was absolutely delicious and in every aspect extraordinary. The service was outstanding. Our waiter Nicolò was extremely competent and friendly and guided us through every dish perfectly. The whole evening was unforgettable and we recommend this restaurant highly.

Sorry Luis… as your experience and talent as a top notch trained Michelin Star chef is much better than the food prepared at your Cicolo restaurant Cadiz. We were Very very disappointed from the food and very dissatisfied starting with the appetizer tuna fish that was not not even tartar as listed and tasted out of a can, the roasted pepper appetizer with small frozen shrimp and added tomatoes was not listed on the menu was mediocre at best. And finally the duck cannelloni’s was mildly decent with some flavors but the presentation needed a lot to desire as the presentation needed a lot to desire. Lastly, The service was mediocre at best where we were seated in the back room with nobody in the room at 9:15pm as the manager wanted to seat us next to the bathroom door entrance which we refused. The server never cleared or changed our plates between courses. Luis being trained as a Michelin star chef you need to see what you have and make the necessary changes for people who enjoy your possible inventive dishes and food that is suppose to be different and with great tastes and flavors as your menu was not even close to being acceptable. Our Priorat red bottle Of Cabernet wine and sparkling water was the best part of the meal. In closing, the reserved tables with reservations on them for the €65 euros per person had nicely decorated cloth napkins setup while the rest of the restaurant and us with a special reservation had cloth paper napkins. Plus it ceases to amaze me there are no hand towels or drying machines in the men or women’s bathrooms. We are proud foodies from the USA and live and travel in Spain who like good food, ambiance and service but are from San Francisco. We spend good money and enjoy great food, wine and dining as we would never recommend this restaurant nor return to it. Luis, we are Very disappointed and sorry to have to tell you in a review and share this poor dining experience food and menu review…!!

We returned because for some reason (the chef didn't feel like it), the degustation menu was not served. On returen the menu was available and thouroughy disappointing, with the exception of the gazacho cocktail. None of the dishes was freshly prepared, that is to say, none required cooking, just assembling or heating. It was downhill from the cocktail. The eggplant curry left too much of a taste and was just a blob of eggplant with sauce. The main course, a duckfilled cannelloni, was a blob of dough, no presentation tried. It was followed by a desert that was a blob of dough. A disappointment. We felt the chef did not even try. If he did, he's not particularly good. Looking back we should have picked up the signs that first evening. The chef is not very committed.

We had very high expectations because of the great recommendations Here and the listing on viamichelin. However, some dishes lacked intensity or raffinesse, which was especially disappointing since we went to contracena the day before where we payed considerably less for a more sound experience (although service at contrascena was "cold" and basic). Maybe we got "a bad day".

Great digustation menu, service was a bit rushed, but when we mentioned it they slowed down. Creative, regional cuisine. 3 if 8 dishes remarkable. Very recommendable. Whine list quite interesting, but I don’t drink atm 🙃
