Where to Find the Best Cider Doughnuts in New England

"A little farther south in Meredith, near Lake Winnipesaukee, Cider Bellies Doughnuts has won countless fans at beautiful Moulton Farm. The cider doughnuts, available all the time, feature toppings like cinnamon sugar, chocolate drizzle, or on occasion, a glaze using Old Hampshire maple syrup aged in Tamworth Distilling apple brandy barrels, says distillery director Jillian Anderson." - Adam H. The Best Regional Food Specialties of New England - Eater Boston

These are the **BEST** cider doughnuts in the northeast! They have the perfect crunch/soft cake combo. We’ve gone to many of the famous cider doughnut stops in Vermont and New Hampshire and found that nothing compares to cider bellies. The topping options of cinnamon sugar or maple drizzle are awesome! Plus, the farm market that’s there has great healthy food options and is a perfect spot for lunch. Their apple cider is great too.

It's hard to describe exactly how perfect these donuts are, there's nothing else that compares to them and I've been to so many places at this point all over NH. The first time I went here I bought 12 before going on a hike, and on the 30minute drive to the start I ate 2, then another 2 after the hike.. I usually eat one and I'm happy, but these, they trigger that inner glutton something fierce. Maple glaze is my go-to doughnut from here, you simply can't go wrong with them! Even the day after, if you are the proud owner of a toaster oven, toss em in there 420f for 3minutes and *voila* they come out like new, little crispy on the outside and moist/perfect on the inside.

Google
I've never had better cider donuts! They're hot, crispy on the outside, melt in your mouth on the inside. It's $10 for 13 donuts (say what!?) or $6 for a half dozen. The cinnamon sugar and maple drizzle are the best flavors! The staff is so so kind and nice, and they're taking lots of COVID precautions, have marked where to stand (outside which is great!), plexiglass for the order window, and you can even text them to order and pay online in advance and just grab your donuts at the pickup window. Everyone I've ever taken here raves about the donuts and asks about them! Just GO!!!

Google
Cider Bellies doughnuts were absolutely delicious! We were married at Timber Hill Farm on 8/6/22 and ordered 12 dozen assorted cider doughnuts for dessert. The process of ordering and delivering on the day of our event was seamless. They came packaged and fresh and everyone was commenting on how good they were! We have been grabbing doughnuts from the farm for the last couple years and we are so happy we were able to have them at our our wedding too! Looking forward to more already 😊

Oh. My. Goodness. HIRE IMMEDIATELY. I am a cider donut fiend and will drive miles out of my way if I spot an orchard on the map during fall in New England, and these were hands down the best cider donuts I’ve ever tasted. We hired the truck to come for an hour at 9:00pm for a late night snack during our wedding reception and our guests were obsessed. I don’t know how many donuts we all ate but it was maybe the best decision we made for the whole weekend!! Slightly crunchy on the outside and perfectly fresh cake in the middle, sprinkled with sugar or drizzled with a maple icing. So amazing - I’m salivating thinking about them. Do this instead of favors, thank me later. You’ll end up with ecstatic guests with full hearts and bellies (and a tray of leftover donuts) instead of an excess of trinkets when your guests leave favors behind. Money absolutely well spent here!!! 100% recommend.

Google
Cider Belly Donuts can’t be beat. We ordered the apple cider cinnamon sugar and apple cider maple drizzle for our wedding, and they were a hit — any donuts that didn’t get devoured at the wedding (I think people were stuffed by the end of the evening, thanks to Hart’s Catering), was served at the farewell breakfast the next morning and completely cleaned out. They delivered, sent me an invoice that was payable online, and made the whole ordering process simple and easy. And the outcome was amazing donuts reminiscent of our Fall wedding theme.

Google
We hired Cider Bellies for our wedding and it was such a hit! The truck comes on site and makes fresh, warm donuts which was such a perfect fall treat and our guests loved them, there was a line as soon as they opened because you could smell them from the tent! Highly recommend!

Google
My girlfriend, while eating one of these donuts (cinnamon sugar, still warm), said "these donuts are so good that they make me happy that I'm alive and have survived long enough to eat them." These donuts will fix the broken parts of your soul.

Yelp
My friend found this place so we took a 40 minute detour to come here. It's located at a farm so we got to walk around and also do the corn maze. There was a short line and we ordered two donuts with a cold cider. We waited 15 minutes for our donut but it was worth it since it was hot and fresh. Cider - had a lot of spices so it balanced out the sweetness. Maple drizzle cider donut - I'm not a huge maple person but this was so good. The maple was not too sweet since it was a light drizzle. This was my favorite of the two we got. Cinnamon sugar cider donut - the cinnamon sugar was sweeter but I love cinnamon so I still liked this one.

Yelp
First timer at Cider Bellies. We just noticed this when I searched "donuts near me" while visiting in NH. The photos lured me in, in spite of a 30 minute drive in each direction. Was NOT disappointed. They are a couple miles out of town (Meredith). The donut building isn't much bigger than a food truck, but they pack in a fryer, at the end of which, the donuts are either cinnamon sugared or maple drizzled. For a little more, you can get (real) bacon added to a maple drizzle. It's great that these are so fresh. They are possibly the closest I've had to home made. Flavor is exactly what you want, both cinnamon and drizzle are really delicious, but adding bacon to the drizzle is highly recommended. If you are anywhere near, do make the trip.

Yelp
A review from my 4 year old....Donuts delicious! Lick the sugar all over my hands. Maple drizzle yummy! For a small food truck sized hut the donuts were top notch and worth the 15 minute drive from our "home base". Don't miss out on these when jn the Lakes Region.

Yelp
The best cider doughnuts I've ever had period!!! OMG and anytime my wife and I are in NH we have to go and get a dozen. If you have never been, do yourself a favor and go!! Trust me you will not be disappointed!

Yelp
I'm originally from the NE area and I have to say, one of the best apple cider donuts I've yet to taste. Stopped by this place on my way up camping and ended up coming back on our way down. They have only three flavors: cinnamon sugar, plain, and maple syrup. I personally loved the cinnamon sugar but my dad swore by the maple syrup. Can't go wrong with any of them or just... get all three lol. Their cold apple cider taste good- but the same as the half carton you could buy from a local grocery store. It's located on one of the cutest little farms and you really feel the fall vibes when you go exploring the vicinity!

Yelp
Hands down the best doughnuts ever and always hot when you pick them up! I love how they are open early and the shack makes it fast to grab your doughnuts and get back on the road!

Yelp
The. Best. Donuts. Ever. We came here on Mother's Day and had no expectations. The donuts were truly outstanding, both crisp and tender. We got some coffee inside the market and went to sit on the local beach. Absolute perfection!

Yelp
Yum! A local favorite just outside of Meredith, this little shack is full of surprises from hot or cold cider to fresh cider doughnuts that come in four rotating flavors. The maple drizzle is my favorite and all of them are cake-like donuts so two will satisfy your hunger. Warning: this place closes at 4pm so be sure to get there in time! $10 will get you a dozen- great deal. If you're craving more food, the Moulton Farms market is next store and is under separate ownership. Great selection of farm to table produce and homemade fruit pies. Bon appétit!

Yelp
Was in Meredith for a wedding and did a search for breakfast and this place came up. We did not get breakfast here but we did end up stopping by for an afternoon snack. Super glad we did! The place is cute and tiny. The kids working were friendly. The donuts were tasty but not the best I've ever had. The farm store was also amazing!

Yelp
Oh man. Warm cider donuts...are you kidding me??!! We got all of the flavors, but I am partial to the cinnamon sugar kind. Best cider donuts we have ever had, EVER. Cinnamon/sugar, maple, old-fashioned and chocolate are your choices and are all delectable!

Susan T.

Yelp
I normally love this place! We make it a usual stop when we drive through Meredith. We stopped this morning, I got my usual cinnamon sugar and my husband maple drizzle, plus a bag of the day old donuts. Both of the fresh donuts tasted overdone, almost a burnt taste, the day old ones were way overdone, hard as a rock. Very disappointing! We ended up throwing everything away.

Yelp
Some of the best cider donuts around! There's something so New England about getting a cider donut from a shack at a farm. I've tried several of the flavors they offer, but my favorite will always be the classic cinnamon sugar. They always get the donuts out quick, even when there's a long line. Stopping here is a must if you're in the area.

Yelp
Hands down the absolute best apple cider donuts ever! So glad we found this place while on our vacation!

Yelp
I don't even like doughnuts really. But the donuts here are fantastic especially when it's still warm. The maple drizzle one is my favorite. So good, light, warm, and not overly sweet. You definitely have to try them if your near by.

Yelp
Great cider donuts! These have to be in my top 5. We got the cinnamon sugar and they came out warm and fresh. Tender with a great coating of sugar, what more could you want! We loved these. Would definitely come back when we are in the area.

Yelp
Our family loves Cider Bellies doughnuts. They are best fresh. I wouldn't buy more than two days' worth. We go back frequently during our summer vacations at the lake to resupply the cider bellies for breakfast every morning. They have a few different flavors. I like the lemon and maple, but the taste difference is subtle. The rest of my family only likes the regular cinnamon and sugar flavor, so that's what we always get.

Yelp
Everyone was super pleasant and handled the long lines with practiced aplomb. The cold cider was crisp. Combined with a donut this fall treat was under $4. ($1.25 for 1 donut, 12 for $10) The donuts are made right there in the shed, are priced competitively with three flavors, and come out piping hot. It was a good experience except for the fact the donuts just are not that good. The one I had was saturated with frying oil and didn't have density (one type of cake like batter) or lightness (maybe they were going for a different kind of cider batter). From the amounts of donuts people were ordering, this oily output was probably an aberration. But, when you only have one product, it's got to be good. It could be the oil didn't get back up to temp when cranking the donuts out. I don't know. I would've given feedback in person, but the lines were insane and the crew had enough to deal with. One was fine -- and took care of my donut fix for the day. Usually it would've been a bag of donuts. Oh well. Hope on a future trip next year things will be improved.

Yelp
So my husband doesn't like cake doughnuts so cider doughnuts usually aren't his thing. I love all donuts. But this place is worth the hype. The cake isn't dense and we got the cinnamon sugar coated ones and oh my! Get them. And the fact that they limit the amount per party says something.

Bill M.

Yelp
Hor a recommendation form someone that had been there. I loce cider donuts so it was a must try. Right out of the fryer delicious. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Yelp
It's going to be hard to keep myself from coming back here all the time. I stopped by specifically to pick up some of these donuts and was so impressed with how good they were. I got one of each flavor (plain, cinnamon sugar, and maple glazed) and they were all amazing. They came fresh and piping hot. I also got a hot cider, which was great to pair them with. Can't recommend this place enough.

Yelp
We had cider bellies at our wedding this last weekend. Our guests couldn't believe we had cider doughnuts at our wedding, but they also couldn't believe how delicious they were! Jess is a pro at what she does and is an absolute pleasure to work with. Make sure you stop by if you're in the area!

Scott P.

Yelp
Believe the hype. Truly spectacular cider donuts, maybe the best I've had. Well worth the trip.

Yelp
I like cider donuts, so it was a must on my trip to New England. I saw a couple places, but had read that this place was one of the best. They weren't kidding! The cider donut with maple drizzle was THE best donut I've ever had in my life. Light and soft in the middle, tender yet crispy on the outside, and somehow also still a little chewy to give it a perfect munchiness. Flavor was amazing: sweet, but not overpowering maple. The cinnamon sugar coated (normally my favorite) were also delicious, with a nice added crunchiness from the large sugar crystals. They are not as dense as a cake donut, but similar. Combine the decadent donut with the adorable farm store setting and it is autumn heaven. I told my husband that I'm moving to NH to eat these donuts every day until I die... won't take long with all that sugar and oil, so I'll just look for a 6 month lease.
google avatar

Nicole M.

Yelp
Omg I'm so mad, this place has the most amazing donuts I've ever had in my entire life. So why would that be upsetting you ask?! Because I don't live around here and now every other donut has been ruined for me! I can't even explain the experience. Its absolutely worth the trip if you are anywhere near the area you will not be disappointed! A bonus is that the market there has some great treats as well!
google avatar

Yelp
I've eaten a lot of donuts in the past year. Like, way too many for my liking. This stop was by far the best and it's not even close. Everything you want out of a New Hampshire cider doughnut you will find here.

Dawn H.

Yelp
Oh my gosh, their cider doughnuts are so good. We stopped at the farm to pick up a few groceries, and my son spotted the doughnut shack. I didn't get one b/c I wasn't hungry, but I tried his (b/c what is yummier than a cider doughnut?) I definitely regretted my choice :( We will be back before heading home to RI, and this time I will get my own (1/2 dozen...haaaa) There was also a sign on the window that stated that all proceeds go to "Make a Wish" foundation. That's awesome.
