Phoenix’s 10 Best Breweries | Eater Phoenix

"Cider Corps is a cidery, yes, but one so beloved and unique that it often lands in craft beer discussions. Josh and Jason Duren’s downtown Mesa cidery and taproom makes yellow, red, orange, purple, and blue-hued ciders infused with coffee cascara, guava and passion fruit, and even tea and hops. Now found even at better supermarkets, the year-round staples like Mango Foxtrot (mango and rosehip cider) and Sangin Sangria (a Sangria-inspired cider) have become craft scene staples. The cidery also barrel-age its creations, taps cider-wine hybrids, and turns flavored ciders into frozen slushies. A family friendly joint, Cider Corps feels like a cider laboratory. The tap room is also home to Myke’s Pizza, another Arizona GOAT." - Chris Malloy

Thirsty after a long day hiking the Tonto Natural Bridge, my amazing girlfriend found this great spot to enjoy some delicious gluten-free cider. The space is quite large with lots of seating. We were greeted quickly and had the menu pulled up on my phone in no time. My girl got a full pour of the Apple Pie cider, and I went with a tasting of 5. She loved the Apple Pie, so she also grabbed a 4 pack to go. I enjoyed my samples, too. If only I hadn't overdone it at the amazing Against the Grain, dedicated gluten-free spot around the corner, I'd have a pour of the Sunshine Punch!

Google
Cider flights for the win! So many delicious options and the bartenders are so great about guiding your choices based on your taste preferences. A definite must-visit and a quick walk from many other downtown mesa dining and venue options. I didn't eat here because of my gluten allergy but my friend easily pulled up the menu and ordered a pizza that was quickly delivered to our table and said it was delicious.

Calaya Cravens-MacKenzie

Google
We tried the margherita pizza and cider flight. Both were so good and reasonably priced for the two of us to share. Service was nice and quick. Great variety of drinks and flavors. We also liked the military wall art and decor. Next time we're in the area we'd love to come back again!

Google
This is my six star review. I cant speak highly enough of this place. The ciders are the best in the country and I've had a lot. The atmosphere is fantastic and the staff is excellent. Accompany all of that with different events throughout the week like lofi night or happy hour. We come here a lot for even coffee and working before they serve ciders! Along with Mykes pizza and it’s the ultimate spot for a date or friends. I come here about 3 times a month and Its just such an important place to me! So please visit it, give them your business, and help them grow.

Google
I love love love cider corps. This place has been my family’s spot over the last year. We try to come every few months to try any new flavors. Always a pleasant experience. This place was an amazing idea and I am so happy it exists. The pizza place inside combined with the ciders is awesome.

Google
Good ciders! I’m not a big cider guy (actually don’t drink a whole lot of alcohol at all anymore), but what they served was tasty and the quality was good. The “Apple Pie” cider did taste just like apple pie. Service was excellent! Definitely a worthwhile location. I had some Myke’s Pizza while I was there. Outside patio might get hot in the summer with the west exposure.

Google
Great staff. Great drink and food. Great atmosphere and great service! What can I say…this place is just GREAT!!! Took a friend from out of town to go have a bite and a beverage. We were pleasantly surprised about everything this place is! Come on down and grab something. You will not be disappointed at all!

Vanessa Flores

Google
I attended one Monday night for bingo and not only did I have so much fun but the cider was amazing!! Excited to return!

Darlene B.

Yelp
We loved this place from the first step in! My husband and I are both Vets and chose to give them our business as they are Vet owned. Great location and excellent service. Thanks to Grant and the female bartender, sorry we did not catch your name! We enjoyed the flight, the Apple Brandy and the Cider Margarita! We also enjoyed Brussel spouts and salad from Myke's Pizza and coffee as well! Cider Corps would be a regular haunt if we did not live out of state!

Yelp
You know, while visiting Arizona, I always try to check out places the locals recommend, and most of them kept mentioning this cidery. When I walked in the service was a bit odd. Wasn't greeted and I stood in front of the cashier for a few minutes before the guy standing right in front of me actually said something haha No worries, we all have bad days. I ended up ordering one cider and then ordered a pizza from Mykes pizza. I would have stayed for another cider but seating was starting to get packed (it was Valentine's Day) so I decided to go explore somewhere else. They have a great vibe, great cider selection and overall I'd be back :) I hope you all give this place a try! Enjoy fellow yelpers

Yelp
Cider corps had a large array of ciders to try! Their pizza is also delicious. I would recommend the Sangria Cider if you go! This was a great place for a large group of my friends to meet up together.

Yelp
The last time we were here, pre pandemic. They have spruced up and I love it. No table service but the folks at the bar are kind and fun. Definitely a gathering place with tons of people and groups. We got a flight, our favs were Foxtrot Mango and Sangin Sangria.
google avatar

Hallie S.

Yelp
Stopped here today for work lunch and it was delicious! We split the artichoke pizza and it was yummy! You could taste the sweetness but also spiciness, it was the perfect blend of flavors. I also had an iced cold brew which was deliciously sweet, and not bitter at all. There was plenty of room for people to work. The service was perfectly timed and let us enjoy without getting too hungry beforehand. Would definitely come back!

Yelp
After buying their cider all the time at Majestic Marketplace during trips to Flagstaff we were finally able to check out the tap room. This Veteran own establishment is great. Having only been able to buy their regular canned ciders it was nice to finally try some of the limited run ciders. I am glad we were able to finally make it. There is also a pizza shop there that is very good and you are also welcome to bring your own food. They have both indoor and outdoor seating area with air conditioning and has a military/veteran themed decor. The lights over the bar and very cool idea. I would definitely comeback when we are in the PHX area again.
google avatar

Denise M.

Yelp
This veteran-owned place is great! The military themed decor is really cool. Every video I've tasted here has but l been yummy--i live the Fruit Salad cider! Inside "The Bunker" you'll also find Myke's pizza and coffee shop Pair Cupworks. I haven't tried the coffee, but the pizza is out of this world,!

Yelp
Cider Corps in Mesa stands out as a remarkable destination for cider enthusiasts and patriots alike. This veteran-owned cider bar is not only a tribute to the American spirit but also a haven for cider lovers. The selection of ciders is both impressive and diverse, catering to a wide range of palates. What sets Cider Corps apart, however, is its deep-rooted patriotism, which is evident in its decor and overall ambiance. The side kitchen at Cider Corps deserves a special mention. They offer a variety of delicious food options that perfectly complement their ciders. Whether you're in the mood for a light snack or a hearty meal, the kitchen has you covered. The staff at Cider Corps adds to the overall positive experience. They are not only knowledgeable about their ciders but are also incredibly friendly and welcoming. It's clear that customer satisfaction is a top priority for them. Cider Corps makes you feel proud to be an American. The veteran ownership adds a layer of authenticity to its patriotic theme. Visiting Cider Corps is not just about enjoying great cider; it's about celebrating the spirit of freedom and the sacrifices made by those who served the country. In summary, Cider Corps in Mesa is a must-visit spot. Whether you're a cider aficionado or someone who appreciates the values of freedom and patriotism, this place is sure to leave a lasting impression.

Yelp
Really like cider here! They had a great variety, and I've never tried any of these ciders before parentheses it's their own brew. They had a whole range of dry/semi-dry/sweet ciders to choose from. We tried the POG and the strawberry sangria siders. We wanted to get the flight, but they didn't have it that day. We also tried their mango foxtrot, slushy with Tajin and Chamoy. The slushy was super good! Overall, the atmosphere was really fun. They had good music going, and nice staff! Oh, send that to me that's better than the one of you like looking downwards

Yelp
Stopped in Friday afternoon.... super bummed to find that three of my favorite cider tenders from my last visit about 18 months ago have moved on. However, the cider is still the most delicious and new to me cidertender Lane was helpful and friendly. I opted for a Blood Stripe and as per my expectations, did not disappoint. Thanks Cider Corps for consistently having wonderful people pouring fantastic cider... cheers!

Yelp
hands down THE BEST CIDER BAR we came from cali and were blown away by the selection. The pizza was on another level . Serious food !
google avatar

Patience J.

Yelp
Don't love the vibe inside, it seems kind of off kilter for Downtown Mesa but they do make amazing ciders. They have great flavors and their frozen mango cider with Tajin is amazing. They also have great food, their baked potato pizza is probably my favorite!
google avatar

Alexis B.

Yelp
Had a great time visiting this Veteran - owned cidery. The menu had so many options and every cider I tried was delicious. They had ciders ranging in flavors from sweet to crisp to refreshing, as well as fun seasonal flavors! Beyond the exceptional beverages, Cider Corps commitment to supporting veterans added an extra layer of appreciation making it a must go for cider enthusiasts and those who value businesses with a meaningful purpose.
google avatar

Yelp
Wonderful place! Will definitely return here. Let's support our family owned businesses

Yelp
What a great experience. I haven't been a big fan of ciders before, but I found a few I really enjoyed. A very casual environment to share time with friends. You can also order pizza from Mikes who shares the space with them. A really nice place. Love their story.
google avatar

Yelp
I keep coming back to this place over and over and with reason! Located in Mesa, this collaborative space houses three businesses in one, Cider Corps, Myke's Pizza and Pair Cupworks. If you are a lover of cider, this is your place!! So many tasty varieties ranging from sweet to very dry. They collaborate with Myke's Pizza right in house with their pizza oven in the back and entices you to order with every passing pizza and smell. Highly recommended. They have a smaller patio on the front of you choose to sit outside. This place fills quickly during peak hours so plan ahead to grab a table. They have a QR code on your table to put your order ahead for pizza and they will bring it to you. Drinks are ordered at the bar as they do not offer table service.

Yelp
I love this place so so much! Always wanted to try ciders here, and finally I got to try them. And I know that this place will be one of my favorite places to drink/eat/chill in the area. :) It's super spacious, and I loved how chill everyone here is. They had so many different options for ciders, and I was pretty excited since I can't really drink alcohol that tastes like alcohol... if you know what I mean lol I ordered cider flights (comes with 5) and hummus and pita. Two of the five ciders I ordered had more like traditional beer taste, but the other three were super fruity and sweet. They were so so good!!! And didn't expect the food to taste good, but omg... pita was I think freshly baked in an oven, it was super good, and hummus!!! So so good. I ordered side of spicy honey... which was an excellent choice!

Yelp
We met my sister and her husband here for cider and pizza (Mykes Pizza is located inside) Although none of us are cider connoisseurs it was nice to have a "tasting" option for $2.50 or a flight was also available. We ended up all getting a cider slushee with their two flavors mixed- mango and strawberry. Although not very boozy, it was still tasty and great for summer. NOW- let's talk food. My sister went purist and had the pepperoni pizza and house salad. We branched out and had the potato and bacon pizza- wow! Wow! Wow! Loved the pizza- and that's hard to say because I am very picky about pizza (my favorite is DeFalcos in Scottsdale). There were several unique choices on the menu and it changes seasonally. It's a bit pricey for the size- a couple can easily eat one. But throw in a salad to share and you won't be sorry. The salad is very fresh- lots of shaved parm, heirloom tomatoes, sliced almonds, and a delicious lemon vinaigrette. The atmosphere is fun and friendly in their warehouse looking location. Staff were all attentive and nice. It's an order online or walk up to the counter situation so that made things easy. Definitely check out their website to read the story about how Cider Corps started- support Veterans and support local!

Yelp
Cider Corps is a great chill hangout. The Ciders are also excellent, they do alot of seasonal things like frozen cocktails in the summer. Also have great service! They also have ciders to go if you have something you really like. They have a solid set of all the time ciders but the seasonal ones are really where it's out, they can be amazing so I definitely recommend getting whatever is seasonal even if it's just a taster. I tend to do a flight because I like to try lots of different things.
google avatar

Ann C.

Yelp
Great place and great drinks. Pizza was amazing and the ambiance was nice. Loved the drinks.
google avatar

Yelp
First time here. Jim and I see their canned ciders in certain grocery stores. Decided to stop in for their Veterans Day special. Really like the vibe and we will return to keep trying all those flavors and also try Mykes Pizza! Today we tried a flight and have to move on to our next stop on our motorcycles. Otherwise we'd be hanging out longer to try the pizza and more flavors of cider today. Highly recommend this place.
google avatar

Stephanie K.

Yelp
Ok, I have to admit that I don't typically like cider. But apparently, I actually do when it comes from Cider Corps! We tried a flight and ordered some yummy grub here on a Saturday afternoon in September. The place was jumping with people so we settle at the bar. Our bartender was gracious and informative and gave us some hinters about what we might like to try- so we tried it and we were impressed. The Mesarita was my favorite! Bonus: somewhat hidden in the back is a totally awesome pizzeria and coffee shop! Cider corps, you have made a believer out of me!

Cindy M.

Yelp
No food on Monday, but great cider! The PawPaw Honor Series was delicious as was the CaMuleFlage. Discount for Veterans
google avatar

Zack G.

Yelp
A hip place near downtown Mesa with a nice open air interior and patio seating. We didn't try any food but had a variety of cider. My friend got a flight, so we got to try a few different things. Mango foxtrot was the favorite at the table, really flavorful. POG was great too. The sangria was okay, sailor strawberry was good, and the cherry one was the least favorite. Not a lot of cider options here in Phoenix and Cider Corps is definitely a good place for it!
google avatar

Kimi S.

Yelp
Stopped by on Saturday, it was bit busy, but got seated pretty quick. It was warm inside next to the big glass garage-like door, so as soon as another table opened up we moved further inside. Ciders were tasty, got a flight to sample, but they were on the sweet side for me. We ordered a margherita pizza, thin crust wood-fired. It was tasty. I guess nothing wow'd me enough to give it 5 stars, but I would definitely go back.
google avatar

Noah P.

Yelp
I love this place. I always buy their cider at the store and it's awesome to support local businesses. The pizza is great too, reminds me of a place back in NM called Cloudcroft Brewing Co. because of the brick oven style pizza. The environment is awesome as well. Decorations look awesome with the ties to military since the founders are veterans.

Madi B.

Yelp
Refreshing and yummy ciders, cideritas (frozen margaritas made from cider) and a separate pizza shop in the back. You can order the pizza from a QR Code on your table and they'll bring it out to you when it's ready! For the drinks, you can go up to the register to order and pay or open a tab. Such a unique and great place!

Michael A.

Yelp
Great ciders Only down side is the long line to order the ciders. Need more of a bar style instead of standing in a single line register to order. Besides that, great location and nice pizza restaurant to eat within the building.
google avatar

Jen S.

Yelp
Cool place with a wonderful (wonderful may not be the best word but I appreciate the sacrifices/journey/hard work/persistence) story of how it came to be, veteran owned. Love the decor and ammunition related tap handles. Tried a flight of ciders and the sangria was our fav. The pizza was delicious and left us craving more. There is also a coffee shop inside which we didn't try this time. Will definitely be back to support this awesome places
google avatar

Tyler M.

Yelp
Went on a Monday day very quiet, I enjoyed the military theme very do it your self operation scan a QR code and it tells you about the ciders then order at the stand.
google avatar

Lorena T.

Yelp
As a Veteran, I support Veteran owned businesses and stopped by to try their cider. Their cider drinks are fantastic and highly recommend them. The best I've had in AZ for sure. The pizza is delicious too!
google avatar

Lawrence M.

Yelp
I'm more of a beer guy but my wife really likes cider and wine so we went to this spot. Didn't know it was veteran owned until I walked in. Being a veteran myself, the names of the different ciders made me laugh with all the military puns. Loved the vibes of the place and it had great pizza and probably the best cider I've ever tasted. I personally liked the Camuleflauge and Mangronade. This is a very unique spot and a great place to bring family. I highly recommend if you come to the Mesa area.
google avatar

Jayden S.

Yelp
Drinking cider never felt so masculine! Had a cider flight and was surprised at how much I liked the Apple Pie. So much to where I had to take some home. Love this place
google avatar

Shelby S.

Yelp
Love hanging out at cider corps with friends! The cider flight and pizza make for a perfect night out. Save a few bucks for merchandise too, because their T-shirts, growlers, etc. are very cool. My favorite siders I've tried here were from the pie series. The Key lime pie was amazing! Can't wait to visit the new location :-)
google avatar

Stacia C.

Yelp
10 out of 10. Love everything about this place. Drinks are bomb and I love what this places stands for. Will 100% be coming back and recommending to all my friends.
google avatar

Celeste S.

Yelp
Love this place!! Ciders are great! Pizza is great! Atmosphere fun and relaxed! Will definitely be back. Love that it's veteran owned

Seth L.

Yelp
Wasn't a big cider fan going in but they've convinced me. Drinks are great and the pizza is amazing. Definitely worth checking out.
google avatar

Kelly G.

Yelp
We've had great experiences here but one employee in particular is not great. We dealt with him again tonight and honestly it makes us not want to visit when we see him working. He ignored us anytime we tried to order at the register and the one time we tried engaging at the bar. We purchased shirts on this visit because we really like this place and he made us feel as if it was a huge inconvenience to do so towards the end of the night (there was one other person closing out, and numerous others still occupying seats/tables). We didn't ask for anything wild or even say anything when he didn't apply the discount. When turning the screen around to sign, he had selected the 30% tip for us (assuming we wouldn't notice after he had been so rude? ‍) and then shared his opinion of us with the person who came up to close out after us. We like everyone else we've dealt with but he makes us feel unwelcome.
google avatar

Tera D.

Yelp
I've been here a few times now and it's pretty awesome. The ciders are all really good - even my beer snob, anti-cider husband has found a few that he really loves. We usually order some food from Mykes, the attached pizza place and hang out for a little while. It's super kid friendly and they have a variety of table sizes. I do wish they had more small tables because it's pretty common for individual people on laptops camp out for hours, often taking up a larger table. But the drinks, ambiance and food are good, so it's 5 stars in my book!
google avatar

Richard B.

Yelp
Look y'all, the vet-owned thing is cool, as is the military theme. But even if you aren't former military or military-adjacent, these ciders stand on their own, and these dudes are cool as hell. We did two flights (10 total ciders), and all but one was amazing (and that's purely subjective). They have creative ciders in addition to your classic apple cider, and they have other drinks to choose from as well (which we will be trying the next time we're in downtown Mesa). Quick note: these are all around 7% ABV, so either plan to get a ride home or plan to hang out in downtown Mesa for a while (or just eat a Myke's pizza to soak it up). These are heavy hitters.
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
Very cool place in downtown mess. Had a few drinks and some pizza from Mykes pizza toward the back. Super friendly service. We will be back.
google avatar

Scott H.

Yelp
I came here with my family and a bunch of other people celebrating my daughter's college graduation! Didn't really know what to expect from a cider bar as I'm used to breweries and distilleries back home in North Carolina. Wow, was I ever surprised! There was plenty of options to choose from and none of what I get disappointed in the least. Even better was the fact that there is a great pizza place within the facility. After we ordered drinks, we went back to our table and scanned a QR code to the piazza place. You can order right there and even pay for it at the same time; all in the comfort of your seat. Within 10 minutes, I had a nice cider drink and a slice of some really good Margarhita pizza in my hand. Looking around, I could tell that everyone around me was having a blast as well. When the bar was slower, the staff was busy clearing tables and taking trash to make things easier for the patrons. What a great place to hang out! Great job!

Yelp
Visiting Arizona for the first time, and finally got a chance to meet IRL with a Yelp buddy, the infamous Joyce W. Met up with Joyce & her husband Michael W at Cider Corps in Mesa AZ. Cautioned that it could get crowded on a Saturday night, we met up at 5:30 pm. Convenient complimentary parking nearby. Arriving a few minutes earlier than them, I wasn't surprised to see all the tables indoors fully occupied. I put my name on the wait list and snagged one of the few outdoor tables. A few minutes later, met up with the W's. A few minutes after that got a call that our table was ready. Cider Corps is a veteran-owned cidery (?). There are lot of veteran-themed items and decoration. A lot of their ciders have a veteran theme, like Sempear Aloha. They have a repurposed warehouse decor going on, very spacious and modern, but it can get noisy. Regular drafts, samples to make up a flight, and slushies are available to imbibe on-premises. 4 packs and crowlers (e.g. cider growlers) are available for take out. Food is also available through Myke's Pizza (see companion review) on-premises. I had two ciders, the Sempear Aloha (hibiscus, pear, and pomegranate) and Fort Morita (vanilla)- very enjoyable. Adding to the food and talking story with a fellow Yeep, Cider Corps is a good place to bring a group and socialize! Repeat when I'm in the area and recommend!

Yelp
LOCAL VET owned CIDER Not only is are these guys making some amazingly balanced ciders but they are Veteran owned and themed. Very nostalgic for growing up in a military family. Before these guys I stayed away from siders for the longest time thinking they were too sweet. These guys have it down. I had, Sangin Sangria Mango Foxtrot Sky Soldiers 22 Jumps KC-130 They are also blending, freezing, mixing and slushing with these delicious ciders. They have a couple that they make mules out of that I can't wait to tap into the next time I'm in there. We appreciate not only your service to America but also the service to the community of Mesa with your delicious brews. We salute you @cidercorps . Keep it up and see you soon. While you are sipping on sensational ciders grab one of @mykespizza amazing woodfired craft pies! #cider #america #salute #brewery #military #usa #veteranowned #supportvets #igfoodie #instafood #foodstagram #wheretoeataz #azfood #arizonafood #phxfood #foodpic #food #foodlover #foodphotography #foodporn #delicious #dinner #restaurant #foodie #foodblog #azfoodblogger #foodinfluencer #azinfluencer #azfoodie IG @charlies_culinary_chronicles

Yelp
Not only do they give military discounts. They ask each person if they are military, so they can be sure to give you that discount if it applies! Owned and operated by Vets! Support the troops. They have some drinks that they do vet donations for and today, Tuesday, is all day happy hour. They have food also. Flat breads, brussel sprouts, salads. That kind of thing. I hope they do really well. They also have alcoholic slushies. They'll even mix them for you.

Yelp
Ten hut! This is my last review of 2020! What better way to end the year than by drinking away all the bad memories lol. I had been wanting to try the delicious sounding ciders at Cider Corps for some time but finally had a good excuse to do so with a Yelp discount. I headed over around opening time on a weekday and it wasn't super busy. They have refrigerated cases of all their 4 packs which makes picking out your cider to-go very easy. I got a 4 pack each of the P.O.G. and sangria. I first tried the POG at home. I wasn't sure what to expect, whether it would taste more like a sweet fizzy drink or more like an alcoholic beer-like beverage. Turns out they perfected the art of cider so that it's a perfect balance! Not too sweet, and I could taste the passion-orange-guava without it being too overpowering. The sangria was wonderful as well, but I loved that slightly tropical hint of flavor with the POG. I've since gotten a 4 pack of the mango-foxtrot which I'm excited to try next. Side note: If you can't head on over to the downtown Mesa location, they do sell a few varieties of their cider 4 packs at some Whole Foods for about a dollar more than the price at their shop. The one in Chandler offers their POG, mango, and sangria. Cheers to a new year!

Yelp
Another awesome experience at Cider Corps! I just love being able to taste the many different and unique ciders they have with the tasting flights before I settle in with what I want. We came for a friends bday party and they set up in the corner with two large tables. We ordered drinks up at the front and pizzas at the back. I couldn't believe how busy this place was! Definitely a good sign!
google avatar

Suzanne S.

Yelp
This place was okay, but not really my kind of vibe. The ciders we tried were all good. You have to go up to the bar to order; there's no table service. If you want food, there's a pizza place attached, and you can either order the food from a QR code at the table or go up to the counter and order it. We arrived at 6pm on a Friday night and were able to order pizza right before they stopped taking orders (seemed early to stop serving food). It was cold throughout the place because they had all the doors open to the outside, so I was glad I was bundled up. We perched on bar stools and drank a couple of ciders.
google avatar

Nicole B.

Yelp
Amazing cider. I bought six of the 6-packs during a Yelp event and I'm so glad I did! I loved all the different flavors and can't wait to come to the tap room and try more. The six flavors I tried were: Sangin Sangria: Prickly Pear, Strawberry, Elderberry, Orange, Passion Fruit, Lime POG: Passionfruit, Orange, Guava SerGINt Grape : Concord Grape, Gin Botanicals, Lemon / Tropic Lightning : Strawberry, Hibiscus Sailor Cherry : Sour Cherry, Peach, Tangerine, Lemon, Lime Blackberry Camuleflage: Ginger, Lime, Blackberry Honestly, the POG and Sangria were my favorites. The sangria was great with red meat, if you are into that. I will definitely be back and try more of their unique and fun flavors!

Yelp
This place is legit because my wife question my ability to critique restaurants I had to give a five. Honestly this place is a hard 4.5. Ciders are great and different than the norm. Order the flight get a variety, and then pick some to take home and enjoy. The atmosphere is really relaxed and staff to boot. As for food Mykes pizza is legit. I wouldn't call it the best but a really good pizza and honestly it's up there. This is a must try place to check out and may be my new hand out.
