"This North Shore orchard has a farm stand stocked with honey harvested on-site and pies and hard cider made with the farm’s own fruits, but the doughnuts are the stars of the show. Grab half a dozen hot from the oil (and rolled in sugar), and eat them with a cup of hot apple cider." - Terrence Doyle, Adam H. Callaghan

"This North Shore farm includes a farm store, open daily; a hard cider bar, dessert bar, and food truck on weekends; some play options for kids; a bee observatory; a barnyard with chickens; and a variety of family-friendly events. Depending on the time of year, pick-your-own apples, peaches, and/or various berries may be available; check the website for updates. Mid-October is all about apples — around a dozen different varieties — and picking is generally available daily, although there may be pauses to allow fruit to ripen. Reservations are accepted two or three days ahead of time, depending on conditions, but walk-ins are welcome. Picking is available rain or shine." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

We had such a lovely time at the farm! Picking our own strawberries was fun and a unique experience 🍓 There was a separate area with chickens that caught the attention of the kids. They also have a small market selling natural products — and the strawberry shortcake donut was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend trying it 🍩 The place was clean, well-organized, and peaceful. A perfect spot for families. We’d love to visit again!

Google
A great place to spend a few hours with the family. I've been here at least 3 times for apple picking and for the Strawberry Festival. They serve food and my kids favorite apple cider donuts. They also have a grocery store with many things that they make in the farm including a variety of ciders, honey, preserves, jams and many other things. Their corn maze is small but fun and who doesn't love a good hayride. All in all it's always a good time at Cider Hill Farm.

Google
They really show up for kids and family connection, swings, shade, ride on trikes, animals, kid events, fresh good and drinks, and we pick bouquets which are lovely and fun every year! We used to do pick your own peaches and berries, but now that they switch to charge per person, it totals nearly $40 for a family of four to pick, so farm store to watch donuts made and the beehive, with yummy treats instead (even gluten free)!

Google
beautiful and healthy food and snacks and just a peaceful spot to spend some outdoors time; and experience picking some fresh vegetables and fruits and this weekend Tulips ! --bring your mud boots to walk around --almost felt like being in the Netherlands; nice parking too and even a traffic guide;

We love Cider Hill Farm at 45 Fern Ave in Amesbury, MA! We’ve been to a number of festivals and give it an A+ rating! Their produce is wonderful, the picking is fun, the entertainment is awesome, the store is so nice, their baked goods are fantastic, I could go on and on. So many fun things to do. We added the flower picking this year and the bouquet last almost 2 weeks and was gorgeous! It’s easy to get to and so worth your time.

Google
Delightful apple orchard, complete with live music, food, drinks and an open atmosphere for you to gather with friends and family. You can pick your own apples, many varieties to choose from me across several different orchards. You can even buy apples that you don't have to pick if you're not inclined to do so. Plenty of parking and overall pretty fair pricing for what you get. Pretty neat! Really enjoyed my time here.

Google
I went there with a friend to pick up flowers. I was able to pick so many beautiful flowers, like dahlias, sunflowers, tulips, and so more for only $11. The kids played with the chickens and the goats and went on a hayride. You can also pick blueberries, peaches, and apples. It was so wonderful being in nature.

Yelp
Stumbled across this farm and was glad I did There is something for everyone. The farmitself is beautiful and large Bought apple crisp and hkney in the store The food trucks were great and i I also sampled the apple crisp outside before I puchased it in the store to take home. I had a great time there on a very nice fall afternoon. I will definitely return

Yelp
I LOVE this farm and the folks who work there! They go out of their way to make everyone's experience special. I wanted to alter a ship date for an order and Valerie graciously accommodated me even though it meant a special trip to the post office for her. While it's a beautiful place to pick fruit and berries or shop their farm store, it's the people who make the experience so spectacular!

Ahmad G.

Yelp
If you have a family and kids, this is a must to visit in late summer and early fall. Don't forget to grab fresh hot fluffy apple cider donuts. Service is excellent here, the staff were so friendly and easy going. Hiking uphill, the atmosphere reminded me of apple farms in Washington state. They have the hay ride only on weekends. We picked 10 apples. We enjoyed them a lot at home. Definitely coming back. Visited in September 2024.

Yelp
I went to Cider Hill Farm this past weekend for some apple picking with my boyfriend and despite it being super windy out it was still a beautiful day to visit. It's about an hour away from Boston and we were hitting the Topsfield fair on the way back home so it worked out great. Although it's later in the season, they still had a whole section of trees ready to be picked. They had a ton of different apples to choose from and most apples had to be picked with the picker (giving you the full experience). We did check out the bins which also had a lot of healthy apples to choose from! For a Saturday they were pretty packed. All the food and beverage lines had a wait, but moved fairly quickly. We ordered a half a dozen of apple cider donuts, mac n cheese, apple crisp, and cold cider - all delicious and great portions! The staff was very kind and knowledgeable. They also had great live music which added to the lively atmosphere. After eating and picking apples we visited their market and got some hard cider wine, a huge pumpkin to carve, and some kettle corn - all for a reasonable price. It looked like they also had a cut flower stand, but I unfortunately didn't notice until our way out. With that being said, it looked like people who did participate had beautiful cut flower bouquets in a nice big mason jar! I would definitely visit again, especially for some wine tasting.

Yelp
I had an amazing time apple picking at Cider Hill Farm in Amesbury, MA! The farm is beautiful, with rows of lush apple trees and stunning views. The staff was friendly and helpful, providing us with everything we needed for our picking adventure. The variety of apples was impressive, and we found plenty of juicy, ripe ones to take home. The atmosphere was lively, with families and friends enjoying the day together. After picking, we explored the farm store, which had delicious treats like fresh cider donut and apple crisp with vanilla ice cream --definitely a must-try! Cider Hill Farm is a perfect spot for a fall outing. I can't wait to go back next season!

Chris M.

Yelp
Quintessential New England farm experience, always a great place to visit. No matter the time of year, there is always something special happening. Great for a weekend retreat for their homemade cider donuts, fresh produce, fruit, and so much more. Pick your own in season fruit and if you're lucky they will have live music and other special activities. Staff is warm and friendly. Pick up some special gifts, homemade spirits, holiday items, sweets. You just need to visit!

Joy G.

Yelp
Cute farm about an hour's drive from Boston. We came during one of the two weekends for the blueberry festival and, for the pick-your-own-fruit part, the price was extremely reasonable - $11 for a quart of blueberries which you can fill all the way to the brim, no pay-per-weight. Plus, lots of blueberries on the bushes, so even with the crowds, we were able to get our money's worth. I love their packed calendar of festivals/events during the summer and fall. And their hard cider had so many varieties and hit the spot on a hot day. That said, the food here seems targeted for a captive audience. The lobster roll from the food truck wasn't bad but the amount of lobster was pretty small. Prices were astronomical in their country store. A large watermelon, which goes for $8 bucks at Costco, was a whopping $23. We took home a small jar of their strawberry rhubarb jam because I am a sucker for jam. I also had a not-so-great interaction with the lady running the blueberry shortcake stand, who didn't say hi and was completely robotic and brusque, only to perk up with the dad and little girl behind me. Just a note that on the weekends, be prepared for long lines. We spent a good chunk of time waiting in line.

Leanna S.

Yelp
We came to the farm around 4 pm on Sunday with two of our kids ages 4 and 6 y o. We were able to get sample of four ciders and loved those. Also, we picked peaches, plums and blueberries but it was in a very fast pace because the picking was closing at 5 pm. There is a tractor going up the hill to get to the gardens. I was able to get some sunflowers as well. The store is open later so we got some stuff from there as well. The chicken coop was great. We will be back.

Connie L.

Yelp
Such a nice little farm! The orchards are a bit small so a lot of the good apples were already taken. It's better to visit towards end of sept/very early oct for a larger apple selection. Their food is also pretty good! Their chicken pot pie and mini mac & cheese really hit the spot after a couple hours of apple picking. Also love that they show the making of the cider donuts inside the store. The main downsides are the lines for food & drinks are very long, and there's no actual bathrooms. Just a few portable bathrooms. If they were able to fix those few things, it'd be a near perfect experience.

Nana B.

Yelp
Cider hill is absolutely beautiful! The decoration is something that could be easily covered in a magazine. Everyone here was friendly definitely felt like being a guest at a nice farm house.

Alexandra M.

Yelp
Some of the best apple cider donuts in the area, with a cute shop to boot. There's lots of your own pick 'em activities including flowers. Ours lasted over 2 weeks and they were kinds we had never seen before.

Richard P.

Yelp
Overall: NOTE, went on a Monday so it is not indicative of the crowd, but it was nice and serene being one of the only few people. What's nice about this place is the hill and scenic overlook you have. Makes the apple picking experience much more reasonable. Apples: pretty wide selection of apples and very unique variety with plenty of sub(?) apple category selections. Regal Gala just as an example. Plenty of selection (as of late September) after the weekend rush so maybe this location isn't as busy! General Store: really cute pumpkin selection as well as all the usual suspects. Honey, apple cider donuts, hot and cold apple cider, etc. the $12 for a 1/2 peck seemed extremely reasonable!

Anshita S.

Yelp
My family and I love this farm! If it wasn't almost 50 mins away from where we live, I would be here every other week. Lots of pick your own options throughout the growing season. We absolutely love the PYO peaches here, so many variety to choose from and most of them are so delicious. There is something for everyone here- PYO, hayrides, live music, food truck and a lovely nice vibe to just chill outdoors. Their cider and donuts are delicious! Their on site store has a lot of local produce and definitely a must visit. Lots of parking around too. There is a food truck but it has a small menu and the lines are usually super long, so we haven't tried the food yet. Hopefully next season we will. Definitely a must visit farm if you are in the area or even worth a drive!

Frances L.

Yelp
What a cute farm! I wanted to try a cider donut which led me to Cider Hill Farm. We stopped by on our drive from Maine to Boston. It was beautifully decorated for the holidays. Unfortunately, we arrived close to closing so I didn't have a lot of time to browse. There was a cute market with gifts, baked goods and fresh produce. I picked up some donuts and what a sweet treat! I'd love to come back to explore and try some apple ciders.

Lauren L.

Yelp
Pretty solid cider farm to visit to fulfill all your fall New England festivities. I'll say mostly everything is open and activities are popping on Saturdays/Sundays. Weekdays are pretty dead, but there's still fun to be had!! The store has every cool snack you can think of and their bakery items have a WIDE variety....Even stuff for gluten/dairy free/allergy friendly things. They have a fresh baked section, frozen section, fresh produce, cider bar, ect. We were in shock with how much cool stuff they had to browse. We then walked around the farm. Plot is huge and lots to see, (bring walking shoes & something you don't mind getting dirty) chicken coops, orchards, swings... place is really fun if you want to do a fall activity. Great if you want to go with your kids or friends. Lots of staff scattered around and they were generally attentive and pretty nice. Check this place out!!

Brooke C.

Yelp
I went on an October Saturday for a hard cider flight and the farm was packed. We were still able to find a parking spot and none of the cider flavors were sold out - we just had to wait in a super long line. I think it was worth it though, the flight was spectacular. The store inside sold the ciders by the bottle and sold hot cider doughnuts. Overall, it was a great time.

Susannah S.

Yelp
Lovely farm and plenty of parking. Cider doughnuts, wine, and other local sundries available to purchase and eat. Pumpkins galore, apple picking and pleasant surroundings. Easy drive from anywhere in New England. Friendly, helpful staff.

Christina L.

Yelp
The most beautiful fall day spent picking apples/pumpkins, drinking cider flights, and eating apple cider donuts! Cider Hill Farm is a picturesque location to visit that has so many activities! I loved it all. A must-visit for all ages. The only reason this location can't be 5-stars is there are few porta potty toilets that are very poorly managed. For such a big location with tons of people - there should be legitimate bathroom stalls.

Jessica Z.

Yelp
Yes yes yes!! This apple picking farm is the perfect way to jump start your fall season. I went on a Sunday afternoon, and it was still so packed. There were so many rows of apple trees of different varieties, and they all tasted so good. The prices for these apples were also very reasonable, and we brought home quite a full bag. There were also so many other activities, it was very much a day trip for us - we also tried apple cider and the apple cider donuts. These were the best cider donuts I've ever had, as they were soft and tasty and so sweet. We got a fresh batch and it was melting in our mouths. I would love to come back, this was an amazing place to visit!

Ann Marie B.

Yelp
They have the BEST cider donuts around. Such a cute farm too. My 2 year -old granddaughter loves to see the chickens and goats . The flowers are unbelievable and the store has so many good things - it is impossible to leave empty-handed. Highly recommend stopping by.

Dan S.

Yelp
Although they are no longer dog friendly, even outside, they still beat Applecrest in Hampton Falls in almost every category. Their cider donuts are the best!!

Allie G.

Yelp
We had the BEST time at Cider Hill Farm! My friends and I visited on a Wednesday afternoon and it wasn't busy at all. We started with the store and bought a bottle of the Raspberry Hard Cider to share. You're not technically supposed to drink it on the property I think, but we just grabbed a few cups and took it outside to the picnic tables (by the chicken coop). We also stopped by the food truck and bought Chicken Salad Sandwiches, which were very tasty. The hard cider was unbelievably good - make sure you buy some! I highly recommend the raspberry flavor, but I heard the cherry is also fantastic. After this, we looked at the chickens and goats for a while, then headed back into the store to purchase mason jars for flower picking. The jars are only about $13 and then they give you scissors to go pick as many flowers as you can fit - SO beautiful and so much fun! After picking our bouquets, we headed into the store one more time. The selection here is massive and it was hard not to buy everything, but it's also on the pricier side. I purchased more hard cider, some local honey, a candle, and hot sauce. Overall, this place is so much fun - great for both children and adults!

Esther J.

Yelp
The best part of our stay bordering MA from NH. Beautiful farm, berry picking, small chicken and goat farm, outdoor children area, spacious yard, and amazing farm market, e.g. homemade weekend breakfast sandwiches and donuts. We went there once a week and took all our visitors. Can't rave about it enough.

Marie A.

Yelp
Peach and blueberry picking was a blast with the family! It was our first time visiting and we will definitely be back next year.

Michael R.

Yelp
This is by far our favorite spot for apple picking and cider donuts. Let's talk about these cider donuts, they are perhaps the best in the area. Light, fluffy (think Krispy Kreme cloud like texture), with a subtle apple flavor and you can also have cinnamon sugar. They are best hot, but can be warmed in the oven if you bring them back home. The donuts are worth the trip alone, but there is much more to see, do and taste here. The You Pick options vary through the seasons, and we were impressed with the pick your own flower option this summer. We have not tried the tulip picking in the spring but plan to do so. Berries are available in the summer, and of course apples this time of year. The store itself has great produce and a nice selection of gourmet food items. A recent addition is the hard apple cider which is tasty and can be purchased in bottles or tastes outside for enjoyment. Plenty to do for kids as well. Don't miss this farm.

Shay S.

Yelp
A lovely place with lots of food options, cider donuts and pick your own options. We picked tulips. It was worth the 1 hour drive.

Elizabeth V.

Yelp
There are a LOT of fun activities at Cider Hill Farm. From tractor riding, apple picking, & hanging out with some chickens! I came a little late in the season for apples but there was still a ton left. Some drinks & snacks I purchased from the stand was the maple pumpkin seasonal latte, a cold cider, and chicken pot pie. I LOVED the cold cider, enjoyed the chicken pot pie, & would not recommend ordering the maple pumpkin latte. In the farm store, I purchased a bag of apple cider donuts, tortilla chips, Italian bread from the bakery (so delicious), & the best salsa I have ever had! The apple salsa is sweet with medium spice, I couldn't stop eating it.

Kelley S.

Yelp
As always Cider Hill Farms knocks it outa the park again. I ordered turkey for thanksgiving and some sides. Absolutely divine.

Claire W.

Yelp
Tulip picking was lots of fun. Great variety of tulips. Although, I wish there were more fringed varieties. I love that texture. Bring a digging tool if you plan to plant them with the bulb attached (they encourage you to take the bulb). The less you yank on the stem, the less stressed the plant. Best idea- bring an empty planter and potting soil in the car and plant the bulbs as soon as you leave the field to reduce shock and keep them hydrated. Bring boots for mud if it rained in the last few days. You can pay for a dozen or multiple dozen, but you can also pick more than a dozen and pay $1 per extra flower. They give you a cardboard box to carry your picked tulips in the field. You can keep the box or they can wrap the bundle in plastic and paper like a bouquet.

Steph J.

Yelp
Our visit was end of May on a nice day. It was a fun activity for the day. We saw chickens and a goat or 2. It's mainly a fruit farm so I would love to come back when the fruit is ripe for picking! Also nice was they have music on the lawn and the food truck. Lots of space for kids to run around. All in all, great way to spend a few hours. My favorite thing was the cider donut ice cream- yum. If you're thinking about the salad, I would skip it and get something else. It just wasn't what I hoped for.

Jennifer S.

Yelp
We recently moved to the area and have enjoyed Cider Hill on multiple occasions. Each time has been amazing in their own way. We have visited on a weekend when it's not too crowded and been able to enjoy the hard cider bar, farm store, food truck and kids activities. Have gone flower picking and also attended Sweet Halloween (which was awesome). And have also enjoyed apple picking! The staff is wonderful and they are so reasonably priced. We will definitely continue to come back for more fun!

Andrew S.

Yelp
The best farm around. My kids love it here and we do the CSA. This is the best value. You get all the veggies plus fresh eggs, fruit, cider, jams and more. A lot more interesting items than your normal CSA. Cider donuts are good too!

V S.

Yelp
Awesome afternoon can't wait to go back. Love the flowers, the farm stand and Apple cider donuts are to die for.

chantanee C.

Yelp
Love this place. Feel nice and enjoyable walking thru store. Lots of cute and yummy stuff. Cider donuts; my Fav!

Monica L.

Yelp
I highly recommend this cute farm activity for the weekend! My friends and I went blueberry, peach and flower picking all in one place. Cider Hill Farm is a one stop shop. As someone fairly new to the northeast I was excited to catch a hay ride up the peach orchard and enjoy the views up the hill. We came home and made a peach crumble and flower arrangement with our newly picked goodies!

Lisa H.

Yelp
This place is beautiful! So welcoming! Family friendly and not yet as commercialized as other orchards. Oh yeah, they have a viewing area where the kids can see the goats and chickens.

Rachel S.

Yelp
I had the nicest apple picking experience here! Cider Hill Farm has everything, from great apples and convenient apple picking experience, to tasty apple cider donuts, to a well-stocked farm store and food truck. I really liked that you could reserve/buy your apple picking bag ahead of time as it made for a more streamlined check-in. The staff were helpful and informative about which apples were good for picking that day. I went on the last day of apple picking season and there were still plenty of apples left, so no worries about them running out. Prices were pretty decent as well ($35 for a half bushel, no admission fee to enter the orchard). This place is definitely worth the longer drive from Boston especially if you want to avoid the crowds and enjoy some nice fall foliage scenery!

Mel G.

Yelp
Since moving back to MA within the last couple years, I've readjusted in my mind that October = farm time! So, I have been interesting and trying to find farms that have a little bit of everything, and are well-managed with crowds. Cider Hill had great reviews, so I was curious to see what it was all about. I think it is definitely the best farm I've been so far in MA, and will absolutely come back. First of all, despite the crowds, it's very well-organized to where there is ample space outside and the parking situation didn't feel out of control, either. The apple cider donuts are incredible--a fluffier cake type of donut--and the country store has all the goodies one could possibly want. There are also cider stands, an ice cream stand, food... lots of options, even picking flowers. I am already looking forward to coming back!

Deja V.

Yelp
One of the best apple picking farms out there in MA. Located a little over an hour drive outside of Boston. Plenty of parking and well organized . They have a food truck, a cider bar , tent setup for weekend live bands. Chicken cage and goats for kids . Plenty of fruits to pick depending on the season . We were here for the apples and it was 35 dollars per bag. It was a long walk back to the gate after carrying all the apples we picked . Very nice scenery and beautiful orchards. The apples tasted delicious. The people are also very friendly.

Paige A.

Yelp
My partner & I went here in the beginning of October to pick apples. Trees were bare except for the tippy top, which I get, it was late in the season, but maybe let us know before paying or have ladders set up so we could reach them? Apples we did pick had no flavor. (Hard) Apple cider & corn we bought from their store also had very little flavor Was very crowded, which I thought was a good sign, but idk. Maybe they had an off season where their crops just didn't have much flavor, so I was annoyed by the wait time & crowd for what i actually got from cider hill

Koda F.

Yelp
Best donuts ever! I always get cider donuts and cider. I like to sit on the benches outside and eat.

Vaughn H.

Yelp
Five star place minus the food trailer. Hard to justify a 40-minute wait for one scoop of ice cream. The food trailer should not sell food and ice cream unless they figure out a more efficient way. Everything besides the trailer was an A+ grade.

Jena J.

Yelp
Cider donuts are the best. I love sitting out by the trees with a hot beverage. This is a great place to come solo, on a date, or with family. It's beautiful and they usually have some kind of event happening during each season

Sheila F.

Yelp
Beautiful inside and out, service was ok prices are I feel very high compared to other farms

Christina M.

Yelp
Went apple picking Sadly all donuts were gone by 3pm when we went. My fav place for cider & donuts & to go apple/fruit picking

Joanna Jodi J.

Yelp
The atmosphere at the farm itself is great. Farm store, nursery, tulips, picking experience was wonderful. However! Eat before you come or pack a lunch. Food truck food was average at best and run very inefficiently. We waited an hour to order and get a hotdog and two tacos. Had I known I would've prepared food-wise.

Natasha M.

Yelp
This place was adorable. My second apple picking farm with a totally different experience but amazing still. In the front is a chicken farm and pumpkin setup as well as plenty of mum flowers and hay and pure autumn-ness! Beautiful and picturesque! Theres a small store that sells amazing fall products from food to the farm's own produce to dishware and clothing as well as a viewing window as they cook the freshest of cider donuts. The apple picking prices are by the bag. Once you have a wristband you can pass the entrance of the farm and go at your leisure. Spectacular views from the top as you go to grove #2. Only complaint would be the difficulty in finding particular apples. The map given to us was vague and while there were signs at the end of the row saying what was growing; there was no clearer signage to point out where one type started or stopped. They also had a great trailer food truck serving food Friday-Sunday. Everything tasted fresh and seasonal and was an easy bite to grab if you werent ready to leave.

Mary M.

Yelp
Delicious apple cider donuts and apple picking....beautiful view! Great sandwiches too.

Donna L.

Yelp
There were too many flies and bees. And the price of apples was 3 times the price of other apple orchards. The ice cream stand however had good ice cream. I waited in my car and my friend got the ice creams.
