Google
Lots of amazing foods and products!! Delicious pastries (although pricey, the almond 🥐 is pretty worth it!). Great selection of canned fish and dried fruits, nuts, bulk grains, etc. We were not able to find our beloved Spindrift here but did find something else that will suit us. We had some yummy finds today and we will definitely be back!

Google
They do you have a pretty large selection of organic foods and coffees and teas and vegetables and so on. The fresh baked items and the meat market side are pretty good. Prepared meals and sandwiches in the cold section can be a little ordinary for taste and certainly not spicy or full flavored I guess you can always add those at home Battlefield expecting more for flavor you might be disappointed. One thing that they do have are lots of spices and sauces and Salsas and so on that you can always use to make everything taste great

Google
Friendly staff everything is always well stocked. They have plenty of vegetarian options and gluten free. They also have a salad Bar and pre-made sandwiches and burritos .

Google
This is a grocery shopping experience. I stop in here every time we arm in Taos. They care all the unique things that we stock up on for our road trips. I would love to recommend their gluten free brownies because they’re delicious! I love that CID’s has a location u at the ski village now too!

Mike Lightheart

Google
Well organized and well stocked. Prices are higher than anywhere else in town, even for products that are the same. Had an issue with something being rung up for the wrong price and they were helpful to get it corrected and did so without issue. Good selection of alternative medicine though, so even if the rest of the store is a bit too expensive this is the place to get homeopathics and other non-traditional options.

While visiting from Iowa, my sister took my to the liquor store in the back (separate building from the food market). Super clean and organized. Extremely kind and helpful staff. Will def go there again on my next visit!

I am an older man and have shopped at CIDs a number of times. The prepared foods and meat are very good. Today trying to checkout I went to an empty lane. The older—middle aged—woman was not busy yet she chose to actively ignore my presence. Ageism—-I don’t know. Nonetheless not a nice experience. Probably my last trip to CIDs.

Google
Haven't actually shopped at this store just happened to pick my friend up after we went shopping there and well got lucky and found a brand new perfectly fine bag of potatoes:) SCORE!! LOL

Scott A.

Yelp
We bought a cherry pie and had to throw it away, it was so bad. Bottom crust was hard as a rock. The filling had so much starch in it that even after heating it it was thick and hard.

Montague S.

Yelp
This is more for CID's 'Cellar' which for some reason is called that despite its being decidedly above ground . The guys here were named Use and Less as far as customer service . Not a peep of help except to say the amount due at the register. What I got there for local craft beer is available elsewhere like even Albertsons and cheaper . Meh.

Aim Ma. M.

Yelp
I love the expereinced. But when I went to you store looking for resist bars, and I was curious if you currently stock them or if there's a chance, you might consider adding them in the future. I truly hope to see Resist Protein Bars on your shelves soon!

Paul L.

Yelp
Love CID's. Always the freshest foods, a great butcher, and lovely shopping experience.

Barb S.

Yelp
I have lived in Taos for 23 years and for many years, Cids, which has excellent food and is easy to navigate, always won customer service awards. Sadly that has not been the case since (at minimum) the start of COVID. In particular, many (not all) of the younger female cashiers barely look you when you go through their aisle and do not say a word. Not a "did you find everything you needed", not a "how are you doing" nor even the most cursory "hello". I find this detracts from my used to be wonderful shopping experience at Cids. If management is aware of this deficiency and cares about a pleasant environment perhaps some basic customer service training skills could improve this aspect of Cids.

Rick T.

Yelp
Amazing beef jerky found here I should have bought several bags to bring home. Wonderful kombucha and sparkling waters to put in pack before a hike. Lots of other cool hot sauces and chile sauces here too.

Charles D.

Yelp
I am a frequent skier at Taos Ski Valley. Occasionally we have breakfast at Cid's Market on the mountain. Many times we have visited the business for breakfast and many times the employee that cooks the breakfast has disappointed us. To be blunt, this employee is rude and has no businees interacting with customers. Today, I asked for a breakfast burrito without cheese. The cook told me that I was lucky to be able to purchase anything at this facility and that no, he would would not provide a burrito without cheese. If Cid's cannot accomodate customers that cannot eat cheese, then stop providing food completely. Cid's is not doing there customers a favor selling there products to the paying customers. They are the ones that should thank us for supporting them. Management should review there policies that deal with there employees at Cid's on the mountain.

Stacy P.

Yelp
Great little "Whole Foods" type grocery store. Good selection of food and ingredients. Tucked on the outer edge of Taos, plenary of parking. Clean easy to navigate with variety and options. Friendly staff.

Sasha B.

Yelp
Adorable market with loads to offer. From organic fruits and veggies, fresh made baked goods, and meats aplenty this is your one stop shop for groceries when staying in or around Taos. The layout was intuitive and within ten minutes we had all the ingredients we needed to feed a hungry house of six winter sport enthusiasts. As always it was nice to see touches of home (Boulder) in the candies and other goods they offered. Prices were great for kombucha, and a bit higher for other things such as pre-made salads (just under $7/lb.). I highly recommend this natural grocery store for your food and wellness needs while in the area.

Stephanie L.

Yelp
Great selection! Easy parking. Super clean and well organized. Better than Whole Foods.

Vicki G.

Yelp
This review is about Cid's prepared foods, not about the market itself. The market is nice and I am sure that Taos is happy to have it. We purchased some food to take to Ojo Caliente, as we were tired of fancy restaurant food by this time. Chocolate chip cookies (good), along with a turkey/smoked provolone sandwich and some chicken salad. Wow! We could barely swallow either the sandwich or the chicken salad -- it was so dry! Please, please, add some mayo to that recipe! We could not eat it. I was glad we had some other items we had brought from home.

Ana Z.

Yelp
Based on the gentleman that stopped what he was doing when he saw my completely lost in the sauce face - and helped me find a challenge someone sent me to the store for after never having been, he was a true hero that day. I needed to get a "chocolate peanut butter bar" but she didn't know the name. I can't convey how overwhelmed I was when he first brought me to the aisle with the chocolate bars.... there were SO MANY! I'm used to crap Walmart service, but this gentleman went above and beyond finding me every single peanut butter chocolate combo available. It meant so much to me that he cared more about helping our customers in panic/lost mode when he could have continued stocking alone. I'd love thus store if I lived here, but it was very expensive for an outsider. $10 for two items is not something I'm used to, but you get what you pay for: quality.

Bern F.

Yelp
Meat department is solid (if over priced) and butchers are friendly. The rest of the place is average - at best. Produce is OK. Expect standard products with a 10-15% premium on the price. Organic sliced turkey comes out to close to $30/lb. Seriously. The real rub is that after dropping so much money one can be enjoy being ignored or treated flippantly by the employees. oh joy. For example, if the public restroom is locked for 10-15 minutes and a crackhead or homeless person is in there doing there thing, try asking an employee for help. The three workers I encountered said yeah, that's too bad and speaking to the manager - well they just "manage" you. They even told me it was open, hoping I would go away. I went. It was still locked. WOW. Clearly this is corporate America masquerading as a small town market that cares. If you want to pay a premium for your food, avoid their butcher shop and enjoy the aisles of outrageous prices and absence of service.

Janeen D.

Yelp
Friendly and helpful employees, wonderful and clean atmosphere, and excellent selection. Cid's has everything you are looking for, and of course, things you didn't think you were looking for that just look so amazing that you decide to give them a try. If you come in hungry, they have a hot food bar, and also refrigerated items look amazing. Wonderful produce and tons of local products around the store in every department. Everyone was so nice and happy to help you. When I was there, I accidentally burned my hand on the warmer above the chicken wings! Luckily, an employee was able to provide me with some ice to help soothe my hand, which was super nice after my own clumsiness. While there, I had hoped to find some local baked goods, but the selection was very limited.(locally made pies and a few bags of cookies) I was hoping to find something to bring for dessert to a party I was invited to. If the bakery section was a little larger, that would have been awesome, and I am sure I would have found something to bring, but this store is still an excellent place to shop.

Jennifer D.

Yelp
For a small resort town, this is as good as it gets. I am proud and thankful that our community has this level of grocer. The staff, the tasting events, the care to requests, rewards program and bagging donations are all worthy. Plus the produce guys always have detailed info about the products that promote and sustain local and organic farming as a whole. I always head there first as they do a good job welcoming customers and making everyone feel like they are part of a food community that matters. Check out is always highly staffed and is a pleasant experience even during the holidays. Plus they support a lot of worthy causes by allowing other third parties to fund raise on their location. Thanks for supporting goodness in out community. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is that I think they could do better with selling outdoor seasonal items. Such as pumpkins, rosemary trees and the like.

Delaney C A.

Yelp
This place is great. The people that are leaving low reviews because you can buy stuff online for cheaper yeaaaa girl lol it is the price of already having it shipped to the store. It's a smaller selection but has a lot of organic things and the people are friendly and kind and supportive and wonderful actually. If you dislike this place maybe Taos isn't for you. I suggest going and trying to live somewhere else because I feel like this entire city is heaven and Whole Foods is WAY more expensive then cids, chao.

Micky C.

Yelp
This is a great place to stop in Taos or on the way back to Santa Fe. You can stock up on prepared foods or grocery items (not just food). It's not huge but it has a good/wide selection of vegan options (and gluten free). I'm from Dallas so I would compare it to a Sprouts if you're familiar with them. They also have local items clearly marked. Definitely a solid place for tasty, healthy, organic, vegan/GF (or not) options for everyone.

John G.

Yelp
This place is way better than Whole Foods. My Major complaint though is that the people who work here are super bitchy. I also was accused of shoplifting even though I had a receipt and did not steal a single thing. I have never once shoplifted. This place has also since then made me feel scrutinized every time I come in. It's like they are prejudice towards young people or something. They never treat old people like this.

Yelitza C.

Yelp
Visited Taos during ski season and wanted to grab some essentials and snacks for the family and seek local products. Did not disappoint. Got snacks for the kids and found Taos Roasted Coffee, Taos Bars, NM Chile related foods.

Carlos I.

Yelp
We popped in here while visiting Taos. If I lived there, I would definitely do my shopping here. It doesn't feel like a chain like Whole Foods but still has many of the same products you might look for. It's a bit small, but it has all the basics.

S M.

Yelp
Overpriced market in New Mexico! Way to go on up charging milk and basic needs. I can find all of these things plus some online for a much cheaper rate.

Ed F.

Yelp
My wife and I were able to find all of the groceries that allowed us to navigate all of our dietary restrictions (gluten-free, diary-free, and keto) in this compact and well laid out store. That would justify a 5 star rating. However, the level of disinterest bordering on hostility after I offered a "hello" and "thank you", was 1-star. Perhaps being a polite mid-50s Midwestern male combined with COVID-19 protocols was all it took to get the icy attitude. In such a beautiful town on another gorgeous day with a lot of other friendly folks in the area who seem happy that your helping the economy, the antipathy was stark and off-putting.

Joe C.

Yelp
I was on a mission and one mission only..... to purchase local New Mexican chiles so I could bring them home with me to Connecticut. Low and behold, at the end of aisle three was an assortment of local chile spices; in both red and green chiles and in powdered and flake form. Hallelujah! What would have easily costs me over $28 at the in-town touristy gift stores costs me only $10 at Cid's Food Market. Mission accomplished.

Bleuzette L.

Yelp
I lived in Taos for five years. I had to move away for three. Gratefully I'm back and one of my first stops was Cid's to fill the fridge and cupboards. Sure enough, god ol' Cid's didn't let me down. Gorgeous fruit and veg, healthy pre-made meals and snacks, and all the staples one needs when the goal is to eat clean and healthy. Glad to be back in Taos and glad to be able to rely on Cid's.

Dan D.

Yelp
Great place to grab a dinner if you don't want to do a restaurant. We were staying in an Earthship nearby (check out Earthships), so this was a great place to grab dinner and a breakfast that we could prepare ourselves. Really nice selection of food, and a nice stop.

Colleen K.

Yelp
Great selection of natural Whole Foods. Really, if this is your style of eating you can't go wrong here. Small and may not carry everything but they should have something to accommodate. We will be back next time in Taos.

Aintyosideschick W.

Yelp
I like Cid's for their organic food offerings and I used to go in very often, but I felt it was necessary to share an experience that happened that has changed my opinion of the establishment: The staff, mostly made up of men are often predatory and make me feel uncomfortable when I am there. I can't pick out produce without a male staff gawking at me or trying to talk to me. At first it seemed harmless and it seemed like they are just being "friendly" but one day, I went in near closing and one of the male staff actually followed me to my car and asked me for my phone number. I complained to the manager, who happened to be a woman and the issue was addressed. I am grateful for that. But even now I try not to go to Cid's often because I still feel uncomfortable shopping there as a woman. I have not stepped into Cid's since the incident and I instead shop at Taos Market Diner which is woman owned and staffed. I really hope Cid's will progress their business and create a better store environment... I've lived in a few other states with wonderful locally owned / employee owned markets and even Community-owned co-ops and I feel that Cid's can do a lot more and a lot better to service the Taos community. It's just a shame that we have very few options here in town right now.

miriam dema m.

Yelp
This place has the best food to go! We stayed 2 nights in Taos over the holiday and stopped in here multiple times for hot food to go and lunch snacks. Great burritos, hot tamales and a good selections of pre-made salads. Lot's of great local products as well to take back home! Thanks Cid's for keeping us fed with tasty healthful grub on our vacation!

Ashira M.

Yelp
It's great. Got whatever I need, including altitude adjustment helpers in all kinds of forms. As for the hippie/ hippy workers or customers -- who cares?! I come for the food, not the socialization. The billboard is great to get an idea of what's going on in town, health-wise. (And by the way, I live on the east coast -- where we have plenty of large, supermarket-sized health food stores, as well.)

Elle B.

Yelp
One of my favorite clean markets in the country. Every time I'm in Taos, I make sure to STOCK. UP. So much better than Whole Foods -- way more helpful, they support a lot of local, and better prices on most things.

L K.

Yelp
I love this place...the hot bar is always delicious and healthy, their prepackaged salads and wraps etc are yummy and they have a good selection of organic food. And if you feel the need, their house made desserts are perfection.

Geary J.

Yelp
When we travel not only do we make a point to dine in the local non chain restaurants, we also like to shop at the local supermarkets. Cid's is great! Think of a cross between a Wholefoods and a Trader Joe's and you've got Cid's. The prices are great and the selection is as well. Stop in and enjoy what they have to offer, you'll be supporting local and getting great stuff!

Kelsey K.

Yelp
A great market in Taos. They offer a large selection of local produce and products. I enjoy walking around and seeing the selection. The staff has always been very helpful and kind. They also offer a hot bar and a selection of coffees which is great!

Erin M.

Yelp
We stopped at Cid's several times while in Taos, when recognizing we'd left the yogurt at home, to needing some ingredients for a gingerbread turkey (We needed some turkey for Thanksgiving, and weren't about to cook one in the tiny stove in our Airbnb), to picking up some snack bars pre-hike. Each and every time, we found something to like about Cid's. The hot bar is the thing of wonders and supplied a marvelous breakfast of sausage and egg bake one morning when we got sick of yogurt and granola. The end caps of aisles featured many local products from toffee to honey to snack bars, etc. We left with some gifts to bring home that won't sit on the shelf unused. The selection of baked goods was amazing, and may have been visited more than once due to the "it's vacation" mentality. As other reviewers have mentioned, Cid's is reminiscent of Whole Foods, but is a bit more charming because of its independent status and focus on local goods.

Lynn W.

Yelp
That's right. A 5-star grocery store. I shopped at Whole Foods and Central Market for years when I lived in Dallas -- but Cid's is a gem that outshines them both. Besides all the local and NM specialty foods (they have chicos on the shelf!!!!) this is just the best selection of organic produce this side of Southern Oregon. I mean -- I could live on saute'd veggies if I lived here. We tried 3 varieties of the their fresh sausages while we were in our little studio rental -- and all were great. Sausages, veggies, fruit -- and tortillas. How can you beat that? Actually, we carried 2 coolers full of groceries home to Texas -- there are no markets like this anywhere in the panhandle....

Heather M.

Yelp
Thank you Cid's for having frozen green chili I can put in a cooler and road trip home with me. Thank you for having Nanak's Lip Smoothee, a glorious Taos made chap-stick I have been addicted to since 1998. Thank you for having "Day of the Dead" pot holders, one of which I just could not resist - especially after having noticed it was $2 cheaper than it was on the square. Which is funny, because the prices at Cid's are on the high side of stoned. P.S. Thank you for having a deal on Coconut Water during my shopping trip tonight.

Jason K.

Yelp
Let me start my saying that I'm not a hippy. I don't have ample body hair and that family brings me to the town Taos once or twice a year. With that said the Hippies and customers with ample body hair are pretty much the customer base here which adds to the ambiance of this store. I shopped here twice the weekend i was in town. The prices were a bit steep, even for taos, but the quality of the products seemed to be worth The price. The meat was freshly cut but seemed to be limited in there verities. Local free range Eggs were 3.29 for a dozen. The produce is all organic and locally grown. Over all this is a great little co-op. Clean neat and well staffed.

T B.

Yelp
This market is not only overpriced but if you buy ground meat expect it is cut with other meats. I bought lamb and it was beef. I bought a 15 dollar water bottle and it broke a month later. These prices are so high that I would at least expect good customer service but it's like an entitled gauge fest. My two cents- actually hundreds per month and really not justified because of quality or integrity.

Jeff G.

Yelp
Holy crap. A tornado took a Berkley Co-op and flung it into the middle of Taos. You'll find all the same folks here: the neurotic label reader, the high out of hismind white rasta guy, the passive aggressive dirty look get out of my way guy. Nice organic meat section. The deli doesn't have enough grab and go items like sandwiches and salads. It's a great place to get some good local ingredients for gifts or just take home if your visiting; Lot's of agave nectar, chile powders and local herbs(Sorry White Rasta Guy, not that kind of herb)

Barb L.

Yelp
We were in Taos last August on our way to Colorado. The staff was amazing and we loaded up on groceries needed to our next destination (where we were in charge of our own cooking for a few days). Almost forgot to mention that Angelo and Germain at the check out counter were great! They were friendly and helpful!

Xi L.

Yelp
Experienced poor phone customer service from the kitchen. Thanks for helping me make my decision not to come in.

Drew B.

Yelp
Organic food sold To Julia Roberts here Some fruit and soy milk

Jovan J.

Yelp
Cid's is the place to go.... Beautiful fresh produce and lots of local selection. I think it may be the only option for organic fresh protein. You will pay more here for sure, but worth it.

Vikki V.

Yelp
Really enjoyed shopping here when we were in town. Much cleaner than the chain stores with plenty of options. If you're a vegan, this is definitely the place to go. If you like fresh produce, also the place to go. Not overpriced at all for the quality you are getting.

Janet S.

Yelp
We call it the Turnip Truck in Nashville. Basically a medium sized Health Food Market with bakery, fresh meats, fish and produce. Frozen and pre packaged. Convenient for shopping if your digs are in Taos.

Jackson B.

Yelp
Way too overpriced. Unfriendliness, yes other yelpers have same complaint. Feel like someones breathing over my neck. Thankfully there's other organic options. Albertsons and smiths.

Full C.

Yelp
This is exactly opposite of why the East Coast sucks. Here is a huge, well stocked, environmentally concious, individual minded independently owned health food store. Not a chain pretending to be "green" for profits... Whole Foods I'm narrow-eyed looking in your general direction. Young helpful staff. Well stocked. Priced reasonably. Did I mention BIG? This isn't a hole-in-the-wall low rent district location, with 500 items crammed into 12 square feet. Cids is a normal sized grocery store... but earthy and vegan friendly. Take note East Coast, I'm leaving you for Cid's.

Del R.

Yelp
100% agree with J.A. This place has every single thing I'm looking for at a much better price than Henry's or Whole Foods. It's clean, it's organized, the people are wonderful, sweet, helpful and friendly. I love this place. I only wish my small community of University Heights in San Diego had a place like this. Although, it would ruined by the city folk, no doubt. They open at 8am, they close at 8pm. I like that. Who cares that they are not opened on Sundays? You're on Taos time. If you can't deal with that, go to Vegas. Plus why would you go to the market when you've got the best damned farmer's market EVER! Some people, i swear..

Elizabeth L.

Yelp
Wow, is this place channeling Whole Foods or what? Being from Austin, where Whole Foods originated, I couldn't get over the similarities in fonts used, layout or food carried. Pretty funny. All that to say, it's not a bad idea to mimic Whole Foods - they're doing something right. We did have a difficult time finding enough chicken for our visit, but I guess that's to be expected at the end of a business day. The selection is definitely not diverse, i.e. we couldn't find apple cider, but there is a lot of thought going into what IS put on the shelves. This store furthers the generally 'hippy-ness' vibe that Taos has, but that's quite alright with me.
