Ciel Creative Space

Ciel Creative Space (Ciel II) was the perfect wedding venue for us, and we couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. We were recommended Ciel by our wedding planners at Weddings in Color after visiting a few similar venues in San Francisco. From the moment we toured Ciel, it instantly became our top choice, and we knew it was the venue we had envisioned for our celebration. We wanted a wedding that felt more casual and less traditional, focusing primarily on the reception, and Ciel met all our expectations. The space itself is stunning, with high ceilings, lots of natural light, hanging and potted plants everywhere, and an open, airy atmosphere. What we truly appreciated was the flexibility of the venue and its many layout options. Ciel offers various studios, and their team worked closely with us to determine how much space we needed based on our vision and budget. The blank, open layout gave us the freedom to design a setup that reflected who we are as a couple, making our wedding feel super personal and unique. While it was a little overwhelming at first to figure out how to use the space, the Ciel team made the process so much easier — they were friendly, knowledgeable, and gave us great advice on how to make the space work for our celebration. All in all, we’re so thankful we found Ciel Creative Space. If you want a flexible, beautiful venue with an amazing team who genuinely cares about your wedding day, we’d recommend it in a heartbeat.

It’s hard to fully capture how amazing CIEL Studio truly is. We started as tenants, renting an upstairs office space, then later used their studios to host community events for our business — and along the way, we also attended many of the incredible art and community gatherings they organized. CIEL has become such an anchor for the Berkeley community, and their impact is deeply felt. Beyond the community connection, CIEL delivers a highly professional experience. Whether you’re looking for a space for events, photo shoots, filming, or podcast shows, everything is run smoothly, modernly, and thoughtfully. The spaces are always clean, organized, and filled with inspiring artwork. Plus, the staff is attentive, welcoming, and truly professional — they go above and beyond to make sure every need is taken care of. If you’re looking for a versatile, beautiful, and well-managed space in Berkeley, I can’t recommend CIEL Studio enough!

We hosted our wedding (both ceremony and reception) at Ciel, and it was phenomenal! Studio 5 was perfect for the plant-filled, industrial-chic vibe we envisioned. Chris worked tirelessly with us to bring out vision to life, as well as to stretch the tight budget we were working with. The space came equipped with a kitchen, and Ciel was even able to accommodate our outside caterer's request to grill onsite. While industrial, the neighborhood felt safe and came with lots of onsite parking. We hands-down would recommend Ciel Creative Space for any event.

I’ve used Ciel studios a for a few commercial films John was really flexible and was very helpful! Spaces are easy to adjust for our needs!

Great meeting space, perfect for catering and any size event! Parking was super easy right on the street, great location as well. Should you be needing event space in the East Bay, you cannot go wrong!

We rented the larger conference room for a meeting for my company and it was great. Very cool conference room. Easy access to street, great TV for displaying laptop stuff and huge white board. Lots of space and Christina was very helpful. You will book through peerspace which worked well also.

Very clean and spacious with an amazing coffee machine in the kitchen. The ceilings are super high and the plants that hang down from them hard lush and add a great sense of greenery. Great spot. Kilt the design.
