I was instantly captivated by this place because of the chairs - they’re exactly the same style as my grandparents’! As soon as I stepped inside, it felt like I’d entered a cozy family room with warm lighting and a welcoming atmosphere. I couldn’t wait to see the dishes that my grandma makes so frequently. I tried the fish tacos and enchiladas, the tortillas were fresh and the flavors were spot-on. The chips and salsa were absolutely perfect ! I was blown away by how quickly all the food came out. Overall, this place is a great spot for a fun and delicious meal.

Google
Excellent food/ Excellent service. Best Mexican restaurant I have been too. Attentive service. The food tasted great and looked even better. I recommend this restaurant highly

Google
Had an amazing experience, we had a large party and the service was amazing! The waitress and the waiters went out the way to keep are drinks filled, make sure food was good, and any other accommodations that were needed they took care of.

The ambiance and atmosphere in this place is amazing! Staff is super courteous and friendly! Everyone helps everyone which is awesome! They do very well in checking in on you making sure you are good! Their chips and salsa the best!

Lovely Restaurant. Good food! Loved it. We ordered Pollo Taco and Pollo and rice for our son. Both tasted delicious. I recommend this place! Nice vibe Chips and Salsa is delicious too which is complimentary 😀

I actually stumbled onto Cielito while driving through Danville and noticed it as we passed by. Since that first visit, we have returned several times and it is always delightful. The service is excellent, even when busy, and I think the food is great. For larger parties, reservations are a must, especially on weekends. I can’t recommend one specific dish since everything I’ve tried is very good though I haven’t dug too deep into the drink menu yet. I’m sure those are good too. One particular night we went with a large group of friends and I told the waiter I didn’t want to be weird, but I thought he smelled really good. I guess just telling him made it weird but he didn’t ask me to leave so that is a win. Michael Delehanty Compass Real Estate

Google
The food at this restaurant was really good—everything tasted fresh and flavorful. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was excellent. The waiters were attentive and friendly throughout our visit. I have to give a special shoutout to their churros—absolutely outstanding! The main dish I ordered wasn’t exactly what I was hoping for, but that’s more about personal taste than the quality of the food. I’m definitely planning to come back and try something else on the menu. If it hits the mark, I’ll gladly bump this up to a five-star review!

Google
Large diverse menu. Food is pretty good but I wish it was a bit more flavorful. Service and ambience is great. It has a lovely atmosphere and we saw multiple birthday groups. You can see the cooking area as you enter which is fun. Churros were quite good so were some of the appetizers like molotitos. Tacos were good but there are better tacos available in the area.

Yelp
5 stars from the amazing customer service received by the Manager - Andres. 5 stars for our server Mia who worked hard on New Years Eve. The food here is phenomenal. I highly recommend coming for happy hour. It is my favorite.

Homer S.

Yelp
The chips and salsa were amazing. Got a couple of refills. The service was really good too. The inside was very well decorated and they also have tv screens for your sports pleasure. Churros were kind of burnt but the sauce was good. Tres leches was really good too. Disappointed by the fish tacos, chille rellenos, ahi tuna tostaditos, and enchilada suiza. So the best I can give is 3 stars honestly.

Yelp
Great vibes, drinks and food for a nicer dinner out in Danville. The service has been great each time we've come. The fish was amazing and we really enjoyed the soup! We also had the queso appetizer but it was very greasy, wouldn't order again. The menu is a bit more limited than a typical Mexican restaurant.

Young B.

Yelp
Food was yummy as usual. The special menu today had crab enchiladas which I had to try. Unfortunately the first one came cold, but they brought another one a bit later and that one was great. The sopecitos (with chicken tinga) were sooooo good. They usually have this on their menu and I highly recommend it as appetizer. Diablo margarita is the best. It's a good sized restaurant with outdoor seating available (though outdoor was closed today). Family friendly too.

Cliff S.

Yelp
Ok for starters this is Danville, so I don't expect any REALLY good Mexican food. But I'd like to give this place a decent review since inside the restaurant actually looked really nice and the staff was very nice too. I:t was an eat in kinda night with my parents and we got some enchiladas, chips and guac (very good) and my mom got some tacos. We loved how the tacos came with separators like at a bar. That was actually really cool. I think the enchiladas with the chile verde was better than the red sauce.

Shannon L.

Yelp
This place is great! Lots of beautiful art to look at and attentive service. After multiple visits I'm still happy with this place. Good salsa. Good horchata but a lot of ice and more than needed to have the drink be cold. The carnitas tacos are excellent! See the pictures for the goodies in the taco! Chicken asade flavor is good but tried it twice and it's kind of dry so I stick to pork tacos or seafood tacos now which are both great. If your in a hurry or want the food to go, there is a take out counter on the opposite side of the restaurant door where you can buy the food at a discount from the sit down inside experience.

Yelp
A solid spot for tacos and Mexican food in Danville! Do I think there's a taco place here that's going to blow my mind? Probably not it's Danville--but this is definitely the best Mexican restaurant in town. The chips and salsa were fantastic, and the tacos were delicious, easily the highlight of the meal. Some of the other dishes we tried were just okay--not bad, but not something I'd necessarily crave. That said, if I'm in the mood for Mexican food and don't want to go far, I'd definitely come back. The service was okay, but given how busy it was, I don't blame our server for not being able to check in on us often. We had to flag someone down a couple of times, but I really appreciated that the manager stopped by to say hi and see if we needed anything--that was a nice touch. The front desk staff could be a bit more welcoming. There weren't really any smiles or pleasantries when we walked in. I get that they might have been overwhelmed, and they're likely young, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Hopefully, with time and experience, that aspect improves. All in all, a great local option when you're craving Mexican food in Danville!

L M.

Yelp
Been here twice; once for dinner and once for breakfast. More recently was more breakfast. The food tastes really fresh but it's not the most delicious Mexican food I've had; feels like it's lacking in flavor. Service has always been great though.

SK G.

Yelp
This was, I think, our third time here. Why didn't I review it before? Four of us dined here. We had a variety of dishes from guacamole, frutas cocktails, sea bass, tacos, enchiladas and steak. Each item was nicely plated, visually appealing and the mains were all served at the same time. This requires thoughtfulness and training. We had the Diablo margaritas and the jalapeños are hot. The best was the warm, friendly and thoughtful server, Esmeralda. Much appreciated! We hung out chatting for an hour after dinner and they were gracious to not rush us. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant with ample seating. Good service. Came on a Wednesday night at 6pm and seated right away. There is a parking area in the back. Our friend is Vegetarian and they have several options. The molotitos with mushrooms was the best dish! I also ordered the camarones asados but for $29 I barely got 6 shrimp with some chopped up vegetables. Mind you these are small shrimps and a little overcooked. Could have easily made this at home... for like $6. Basic tasting and not with it IMO. Probably ordered the wrong thing. They have lots of non-alcoholic cocktail and spritzers. I opted for a nice cold glass of white wine. Very cute restaurant, great for date night or to catch up with girlfriends. Maybe just don't order the shrimp dishes.

J Christian E.

Yelp
Went for national taco day on Taco Tuesday. I got myself a carne asada taco, horchata, and churros for my lunch. Service was okay, standard order food and check-ins. The inside is pretty cool and definitely can tell it's a party during dinner. The tacos for me were tolerable. The carne asada seasoning was on the super salty side which overpowered anything else on it. Definitely not ordering the carne asada again. It felt and tasted more like barbacoa than carne asada. Really loved the horchata and churros! Those I'd come back for.

Valerie B.

Yelp
The atmosphere here is really relaxing and inviting. Parking is available and there is outside seating. Loved the inside, very open and not cramped. The bar area is huge and has a big screen and the bar was stocked (by looks if it lol). We came early afternoon and was seating promptly and offered table or booth. We ordered a drink each and noticed how fresh they tasted. We had the chips and salsa and husband requested something spicer which went perfect with a side of guacamole which was a good size serving. Our food was fresh and had a good flavor. I thought I got a picture of my husband's enchiladas. I definitely would like to try other dishes on the menu.

Frances L.

Yelp
What a delicious dinner! I can't believe I waited so long to come back. Every dish was delicious but a few really stood out. The Carne Asada was amazing! The beef is so tender, flavorful and perfectly cooked. My husband couldn't stop raving about this dish. Pollo Pibil Flauta-I've ordered these every visit and they're just as good as I remembered. Crispy shell filled with chicken and topped with a refreshing coleslaw and mango salsa. Yum! Camarones Asados-my favorite entree. Fresh roasted summer veggies with quinoa and perfectly grilled shrimp. So good! We enjoyed our dinner and can't wait to come back. I enjoyed the comfortable atmosphere with colorful decorations and wood tables.

Yelp
Celebrating an event with a large party. Food and sever were very good. The event co-hosts requested that guests purchase and pay for drinks at the bar. This is where things go awry. Order drinks that were good. Service was okay. When I paid my tab, the restaurant "included" a 20% gratuity as part of my bill in association with the larger party. The bar tender Valeria R apparently is unaware of the 20% tip that was included automatically and treats me with "disgust" when I sign the bill. The bill is charged to my credit card appropriately. Then, 2 days later $10 is added to my credit card which I am disputing. What seems to be a misunderstanding on the bartender's behalf, is now an offensive and illegal act to my credit card. I am vehemently refuting the $10 charge. And strongly hope the management within the restaurant reviews the actual receipt with the 20% tip include with "Valeria R" so she is made aware of "her" mistake. I am an avid tipper. However, the 20% tip in this instance was a stretch to begin with, only to add insult to injury. I really enjoyed the restaurant short of the bartender experience. Will think twice before going back. Wanted to share my experience to provide perspective to potential customers.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised! I have driven by this place a few times and always wondered how the food was. I finally had some free time and decided to drop by with my husband and it was so worth it! Initially I thought they were closed because every time I've seen it looks empty from the outside but inside was beautiful. From the traditional decor to the nice Xmas touches that they added 10/10! Service was fast and they don't come around to bother you or rush you throughout the meal. The margarita flight is well worth the price and definitely enough for 2-3 people depending on how much you like to drink. Food is great and it has been really hard to find decent Mexican food since moving to the area. I can't wait to be back!

Melissa T.

Yelp
Everything about this place was superb! Great ambiance to catch up with the girls. We shared the ceviche and HAD to try all of the desserts -- we treated ourselves, ok? For my entree, I ordered the steak picadillo. So fire! There's something about jalapeños in a dish that really brings out the flavor. Thanks for having us!

Kelly R.

Yelp
Great outdoor patio! Food is very tasty and service is very quick. Recommend ordering the chicken mole always. If you are looking for a spicy, saucy twist on fajitas, the picadillo is delicious!

Laneisha T.

Yelp
Came here on a Tuesday - they did have a special for taco Tuesday, blackened salmon tacos. No deal on the price but I went ahead and got them anyway. Two tacos were 14.95 and then I added beans and rice for $7. Bf got the enchiladas suizas. The chips and salsa was good pretty standard. My tacos were okay the salmon was a small filet but wasn't super flavorful and the black beans that came on the tacos overpowered the taste of the salmon. For the second taco of my order I took the beans off which allowed me to taste something else but I wouldn't say that salmon flavor shined through. They were decent enough but I'd probably try something else next time. Bfs enchiladas were small but good he liked them well enough. For dessert we ordered churros. The churros came with caramel and chocolate both sauces were good the churros were okay the outside was cooked nicely but the inside was doughy like they were cooked on too high of heat so that the outside cooked but the inside didn't idk they were OKAY. All in all I'd go back and try some other items it's a nice place and the service was really good so I'd go give another try.

Abha S.

Yelp
Ambience is good, but it's definitely the best part. The food is average and honestly not the best for vegetarians. The service is also average because it's a busy restaurant they want to get you in and out. They start clearing your plates/table before you even finish eating. Veggie tacos were the best veg option on the menu.

Debbie F.

Yelp
First of all service for our party of 15 was excellent today at lunch. Complimentary chips and salsa are put on the table and they were very good! Food is fresh and not your ordinary Mexican here. More farm to table with no burritos! The salads were fresh and yummy! Tacos were flavorful. The children enchiladas need more chicken in them.

Jamee S.

Yelp
The food is delicious but man, the service was s...l...o...w. The staff is super friendly but the wait to get your food, the wait to get the check, took a long time. We got there at 6:45pm and left at 8:45. It was just me and my husband. Two hours for 2 people was a little too long. Otherwise the food was really good. The Pescado Del Dia was very tasty. The veggies were plentiful, cooked and seasoned well. The tacos were all delicious. We ordered carnitas, carne asada, and a fish al pastor. Beans and rice were also good. Churros were okay. Crispy outside but the inside batter was mushy and bland.

Ashley S.

Yelp
Great food! Highly recommend going for happy hour and getting the flautas, carne asada tacos, carnitas tacos, and pollo tacos. Also hiiiiighly recommend the churros!

Aynos G.

Yelp
First timer. Completely disappointed that they would not honor the happy hour menu even though we were there during the appropriate hours. They claimed it was due to MLK holiday, but I honestly have never heard of that and it seems very silly, tbh. Our initial server was ok, a bit distracted but ok. Our 2nd server was worse, even boarder line rude and almost insisted we order dessert after we had paid our bill. It was a ladies' night and we were catching up...but we felt the need to leave unless we were ready to spend more. Totally understandable if they needed the table, but there was plenty open seating. Ohhhh and my friend specifically said no avocado (allergic). Low n behold there was guac salsa in a small bowl ON HER PLATE!! Food was alright. I would only revisit if I wanted a good margarita and chips n salsa. The music was good!

Maribel

Yelp
I've been going to Cielito for many years as I've enjoyed the food, drinks and atmosphere. I hate to state my most recent experience there. But here it goes. Please note, if you sit at the bar dine and have a drink.. Please make sure they save your seat while you step away to go to restroom. I recommend the staff carefully listen to the customer and acknowledge that they'll be right back. I hope can they can improve in this area.

Sammy F.

Yelp
My family and I went here thinking it would be decent and edible for the kiddos. Once we came, the service was alright, the drinks were right, but the menu isn't easy to understand for adults especially with kids. didn't have enough to choose from for kids. NO burritos served inside here, letting all of you guys know this, unless your ordering to go. This family will not be going back. My son also found a hair in his food. .

Ashley P.

Yelp
My fiancé and I went here for lunch on taco Tuesday. The staff were all friendly and the place was clean. I felt that the food was not fully seasoned evening and the shrimp tacos were very very greasy. The price was pretty high for it only coming with 2 small tacos for almost $15. The salsa was good but my favorite was dessert the Churros. The home made churros were so warm, fresh and delicious. I might not come back for the tacos but I'll be back for the churros again for sure.

DS W.

Yelp
This place has the absolute best Mexican food in the bay! They make their sauces, salsa, churros in house, fresh. The drinks are amazing too! One of my favorite places! The service is always amazing & friendly & helpful staff!

Adriana C.

Yelp
Great ambiance, and delicious food. Gets busy but the staff does their best to accommodate guests. Highly recommend!

Rita W.

Yelp
The service, the ambience the FOOD!!! All 5 star! New favorite restaurant! The salsa was Smokey and not spicy which i appreciated, the ahi tuna tostadas I think they were called were so yummy with a kick! And the meats were tender and flavorful! Oh and I can't forget about the corn tortillas!!! We were so full that we took our churros to go. Can't wait to try those! I highly recommend this restaurant!

Tahir N.

Yelp
Hopping place at 7:30 pm on a Saturday night. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. Server was prompt and took drink and food orders. Brought us chips and a mild salsa. Wife had chile relleno and found it so so. Too runny for her. Her friend had ahi something. Nicely flavored. I had picadillo pollo which was good and plenty. Her friend and I each had the lone rum cocktail on the menu. Server accommodated me by switching out the Malibu rum with Flor de Cana dark. Good sign they have that on the shelf. Comes in the pineapple the pinada is from so no glass to wash or break. Seats were comfortable and easy parking.

Jason H.

Yelp
This place is excellent. Service was great and food was healthy and delicious and the portions were perfect. It also has a nice full bar.

M D.

Yelp
Tried a new place for lunch. The food was delicious and the service was very helpful. Great atmosphere.

Ron S.

Yelp
We hosted on 10/19 a bday party for 30+ people. We arrived early and everything was ready, greeted by the manager who introduced us to the waiter (Carlos) and his assistant. Food was fantastic and so was the service! Were in Livermore but wouldnt hesitate to come back here

Eric B.

Yelp
After a fun playground visit with our darling granddaughter (and parents), we proceeded to Danville for brunch at Crumbs. As the place was busy (and with an hour wait), we walked across the street to Cielito Cocina Mexicana. CONS - None PROS 1. Spacious and well appointed interior with lots of light. Our table was more than enough room for 4 adults and 1 active kid. 2. Friendly and attentive service. 3. Large menu with something for everyone, brunch wise. This "farm to table" restaurant is not your neighborhood enchiladas and refried beans place. And although folks expect chips, they could have removed that bowl without taking away from the cuisine. 4. My breakfast Torta was very good. Everyone else enjoyed their selections as well.

Lily V.

Yelp
Wow wow wow! Esta muy delicioso! Everyone in the party was happy with everything we ordered. They went over and beyond what I expected. Who knew you could find really awesome Mexican food in Danville?! This place beats my favorite place in Concord. Let's talk about the deets. Food: -Flauta app - was so crunchy. The coleslaw on top was so light and tasty with a citrus dressing. Leaves you craving for more. -Pollo con mole negro- two whole quarter legs so tender and moist. The mole was on point, thick yet smooth with complexity. -Chili verde - also so moist and perfect balance between salt fat acid. -Kids carne asada plates had legit beef cubes. Cooked to perfection. Standouts: - rice - so fluffy, moist, and you can actually taste the tomatoes. Best Mexican rice I've eaten. - house made corn tortillas - so moist contrary to the typical dried out ones. You can really taste the corn. I usually skip the tortillas but this was worth every calorie. - churros - fried to order. Crispy outside, moist inside. Perfecto! Came with delicious caramel and chocolate sauce. There's no better way to end the meal. Service: Such a friendly and attentive staff. You definitely feel the family owned aspect of this restaurant through the level of service. Ambiance: We couldn't believe it felt like eating at a fine dining restaurant with very affordable prices. My other now former fav Mexican restaurant in Concord was clean but interior was run down. Similar prices though. So the beautiful modern interior was definitely a treat. My whole family left feeling like we found our new fav Mexican joint in the East Bay and we can't wait to go back. Mucho gracias!

Lily S.

Yelp
This is an awesome Mexican restaurant in Danville. The place has a nice decor and a welcoming vibe. We came here on a Sunday around 12:00 and enjoyed their breakfast menu. Everything was delicious. I had the pescadero al pastor (fish tacos) and they were really fresh and flavorful. I also loved their corn elote, which is grilled corn with crema and cheese. Hubby had the carnitas hash, which he also enjoyed. Overall a great brunch spot.

Sandy B.

Yelp
I ordered ceviche It was delicious The man seated next to me started talking quietly on his phone I complained to the waiter that I felt this was rude He was a very nice waiter but said he saw nothing wrong with it So I packed up and left Ruined my experience

Gurdev B.

Yelp
Tried this restaurant for the first time. Complimentary chips and salsa were offered. We shared the pollo al pastor tacos and the enchilada suizas. Tacos were decent and serviced with pickled carrots and radish with salsa. I wish the salsa were spicer with the tacos but it was more like pico de gallo. The enchilada suizas were serviced with red rice and refried beans. They were very good but the tomatillo green sauce was a little too tart. I also had the Jarrito cocktail which was absolutely delicious. For dessert we got the tres leches cake. It had a lot of cinnamon flavor. Overall it was good but I've had better. Ambiance was nice and the service was really great! All the staff were very attentive and friendly! I would definitely come back!

Danny N.

Yelp
We have now been to Cielito Cocina Mexicana twice now. We enjoy sitting in the patio but the inside is also very nice. The margaritas and drinks are very good. Plenty of parking in the surrounding area too.

Janet H.

Yelp
Food and service are great here. Restaurant is always clean and guest ready. Libations are excellent food delicious!

Bernardo r.

Yelp
Came in today for lunch, they have shrimp tacos on Monday!! My new favorite ask for the rice and beans and it's a complete great meal, topped it off with a margarita Diablo just enough spicy to make it perfect, great begging of the week with great food and yummy drinks! Patio is a beautiful place to seat and enjoy your lunch, good and friendly service what else can you ask for on times like this! Never disappoint and will come back for brunch on the weekend I have to try it, Great overall! Definitely recommend! Come Taste and enjoy for you

Shirley G.

Yelp
Although the basic food is very good... They could improve for instance the tacos menu. For $15 it would not hurt them to give a small dab of beans or rice with the two tacos. $7. For side of beans!....I'll pass! I think just a little extra offering would make this place a lot more popular than it is at the moment.

Jesus M.

Yelp
Had an amazing time at Cielito. Food was delicious and there tequila, mezcal selection is superb. There bartenders and waiters were attentive and new what to recommend. We tried the molcajete, sopecitos, tuna tostaditas, taquitos and it was all delicious. There rice and black beans are so good. The Rice is so fluffy and seasoned perfect. I would definitely be stopping again. Ohh the tacos de asada are also really good as you can tell there meat is top quality.

Krisha K.

Yelp
Food is very tasty, fresh, Mexi-Cali mix so there are options for vegetarians! Great service and festive ambiance as well!

Dania R.

Yelp
The food is amazing, their breakfast items are the best. I would recommend calling in to reserve a table if you want to secure an inside table but outside is also great to sit, they have heaters and a fire pit. Drinks are great. Service over all is good, I've had really good servers but the last time we had dinner there it was a bit weird, our server was eager to take our orders but then was annoyed that some of us didn't order a full meal just appetizers asking over and over if we wanted anything else, for dessert we were going to order something but he came with boxes to go and brought our bill. We left after that. I will still go back, the food was great not to go back.

Danielle J.

Yelp
LOVE this place!! Always so yummy, ambiance is delightfully fun. Been here a couple times with friends and family and every time the food has been delicious, service has been great, and the vibe has been on point! If anything it's a tad bit pricey, however the food is super delicious and I don't mind paying for a yummy product

Karen A.

Yelp
I rarely come to this area, and I am glad that I came to this quaint place. Spacious, with a pleasing atmosphere, Cielito makes you feel at home. Their pieces are plated nicely and the flavor meets expectations. My only recommendation would be to have a little pizzazz--something that sets it apart from other Mexican restaurants in terms of food (which doesn't include location). Perhaps a unique appetizer or entree? Due to the location that is why it is 4.5* and not 5*.

Monserrat M.

Yelp
Loved it. Food was great. The service was really good. Decorations were very nice. I will definitely come back, but I hear brunch is even better.
