Venezuelan arepas, cachapas, and empanadas from a Grandview-area truck tied to a local restaurant. Frequently cited in Columbus Underground’s food-truck roundups and loved by neighborhood regulars.

Google
This is the smallest portion I have ever seen a LATIN restaurant give. It’s literally a bowl full of white rice with a tablespoon of the main protein, a tablespoon of black beans, and three dried plantains.. I know Latin food and even though it taste great this is highway robbery for $20. Don’t waste your money and if you do get ready to buy double portions.

Vincent Lam

Google
This food truck had almost same menu as their restaurant. Their food style was special to me but I was not used to it. The price was high with a small size. I ordered the summer arepa with fried chicken. It looked and smelled well, but it tasted mediocre. The fried chicken was a little dry. The Cilantro sauce was bland. The arepa could be authentic, but I didn’t like it. The taste of arepa was not good as that of flour-based buns.

Google
The good was AMAZING!! The service and atmosphere were warm and friendly. Definitely go check them out with an empty stomach.

Google
The people are absolutely amazing and they were so nice. They made my day actually. They’re my new favorite place, so sad I don’t live in Columbus so I could go all the time. Their cake was absolutely delicious as well. You can tell they love what they do.

Rami Ibrahim

Google
This is my jew favorite little gem !!! So good and flavorful. Highly recommend.

Google
Probably some of the best food truck food I’ve had. We’re from out of state so we weren’t sure what to eat. This was the sort of “fusion” that we really enjoy. We used DoorDash since we weren’t really familiar with the area. My delivery arrived in restaurant quality condition! Perfect! Food was all tasty… not a single complaint.

Google
Simply Delicious! Very generous servings! You better come very hungry!

Google
A friend recommended this food truck. Went in never having an arepa before and WOW. The flavors were so good. Got the 614 arepa and a chicken empanada and they were both delicious. That green cilantro sauce was incredible as well. Will certainly be returning.

Yelp
Phenomenal. It's made fresh and you can tell. I will drive out of my way for this place. I usually find their food truck at the BP gas station on Neil Avenue . It's a must try

Lowell S.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place. The food is great the drinks are awesome and the staff is very friendly. I've had a great time there. I love the setting also. Very cool vibe.

Yelp
Fantastic Latin food truck Great food, made to order and quick service Will definitely be back

Yelp
DE-LISH-UUUS!!! Great food. We had the 937 Arepa which is the same as the 614 but with chicken instead of beef. And not shredded chicken like with the Queen Arepa, but juicy chicken thigh meat that was full of flavor. The cheese and the shell are perfection. Also, their fries remind me of fries from when I was a kid. And they cook them perfectly.

Yelp
Talk about getting in and out on a Saturday night post OSU game. I have been trying to get to this food truck for a while but I had time today!!! I swerved over to 993 King Ave in Grandview and parked near the gas station. Parking is easy, you just find a spot along the gas pumps or in front of the moving vans parallel to the food truck. I walked up, got a warm welcome and ordered the 614 Arepa with fries. I have seen all the buzz and pictures about it so I had to try it. They gave me a buzzer to pick up my order. I waited about 10 mins and my food was hot and ready. I was washing clothes so I had to run back home to eat. When I took that first bite, so much flavor. I had to put it down and ponder why it took me so long to try it. So good. Chill vibes and lots of beefy goodness. 5 stars.

Yelp
For so long I have avoided this place because I FOR ONE do not partake in the devil's herb (cilantro). But lo and behold! They actually specialize in arepas :O Tbh I don't have a ton of experience eating arepas but what's not to love - they're fried and made of corn *heart eyes* The only thing is that I thought the arepas would be warm as a womb but they were kinda just room temp :/ Of the three arepas I ordered, I liked the vegan one the best by far. It had depth of flavor (perhaps from Beans) and gave the least tuna fish sandwich vibes visually. Loved the yucca fries! And the dipping sauce kinda tasted exactly like the special sauce at Brassica...yermy. To order, just pull up at the Sunoco, speak to the friendly people in the food truck, vibe in the parking lot, get ur food, and haul ass to a nearby location to eat. Yayeet

Yelp
The cachapa with shredded beef and yuca fries were absolutely delicious. Went during happy hour but forgot to mention that, so I think we were charged full price. They had live music starting up which was super fun too. Would definitely recommend!
google avatar

Rachael R.

Yelp
Absolutely love the food! This is my favorite food truck so far, love the yucca fries and the 614 Arepa and the Queen Arepa! So much food! We even did a u-turn to order another fries because we lived them so much. Service very friendly, and we didn't mind that they are parked by a gas station, but ambience may not be favorable to everyone - we just took our food to a nearby park to eat!

Yelp
Venezuelan food. My husband picked us up a bunch of food from here. The salad bowl had grilled chicken and garlic sausage. The bowl was good but I really needed rice instead of salad mix (husband's fault). There was a good amount of liquid the released from the toppings and sauce... rice would've soaked up all the juice & flavors . The sausage is really good but the chicken wasn't grilled per say. Cooked but not grilled. I felt the chicken could've been cooked longer as well. This place was not stingy with the protein either. There was a lot. We had fries and yucca too. The fresh cilantro dressing is the best! I took some photos but don't really know what the dishes are called.

Yelp
I was visiting to have dinner with my friends. This restaurant is new and they were very welcoming to a party of six! There is sufficient parking and the space inside is well decorated. The service was great, the menu online and the menu in person is a little different so I took pictures of the restaurant menu. There are a few differences. I ordered the pabellon and substituted the beef for avocado and it was really good! There is no vegetarian arepa (only vegan) so this was a good mix.

Yelp
Cilantro Latin Bistro is super close to my house and such a convenient spot that provides a quality product. The food is always fresh and flavorful, employees friendly and portions are generous.

Yelp
Such great authentic Latin food. Perfect maduros. Not overpriced. Nice and attentive service .

Yelp
I can't believe I slept on this spot for so long -- don't make the same mistake as me! We have been twice now and have really liked everything. The guys working are super friendly and everything is fresh and flavorful. A few of my faves are their cilantro sauce, fried plantains, agua de Fresca (water-based juice blend. I am obsessed with it!) and the 614 arepa. Man, their grilled beef is insanely good. It's really tender steak with slices of griddled cheese. What's not to love?! I can't wait to try breakfast!! Definitely one of my favorites of 2022

Yelp
I was craving something different for dinner tonight. After a quick DoorDash search, I landed on Cilantro Latin Bistro. I went with a build your own bowl which offered so many options, I found it hard to decided. Since I wasn't familiar with the restaurant I went with a few things I thought might be familiar like shredded chicken and pulled pork with a spicy cilantro sauce. This was to come on a bed of black beans, salad, sautéed vegetables with a cilantro & spinach Arepa. I also ordered a shredded beef Venezuelan empanada because I saw people going crazy for them in the reviews. The food arrived stapled up in a bag and nicely packaged inside. I appreciate the bag being stapled because it gives me more confidence my food hasn't been tampered with. While the bowl I ordered wasn't what I expected, I found the taste delicious. The portions were good for the price. I thought the beef empanada was good, I'm not sure it lived up to the hype found in the reviews. Having said that, I would order from this place again. I'm curious about some of the other items on their menu. I give them a thumbs up and hope you give them a try too.

Yelp
Among the Latin restaurants in Columbus this is by far the best so far. The place is cosy and nice to look at. The service was really good, our server was more than helpful. However the main attraction is the food and was not disappointing. It seems the chef of cooks put a real effort and make the food look and taste amazing. I would say I am more than willing to come back and recommend this place to my friends. Well done guys. My only recommendation is, if you are planning to order Chicha, ask for chocolate syrup on the side, I think it doesn't need it.

Yelp
Came to the food truck on a Monday early evening. They didn't have a long line, but a constant flow of people coming by for pickup orders. They had 3 or 4 tables outside the gas station with umbrellas to block the sun. We ordered an empanada, a pabellon bowl, cachapa, and 2 California smoothies. Everything was DELICIOUS. The cachapa was divine. The fried pork was perfectly crunchy and tender at the same time and the corn cakes were so flavorful. I definitely will be back to try the arepas.
google avatar

Marissa C.

Yelp
We had seen the food truck and decided it was time to give it a try! We placed an online order, which was ready when expected. The 614 arepa was very good, with juicy meat in the arepa - the cilantro sauce was excellent and really put it over the top! The fries were fine, but the arepa and sauce were definitely the stars of the show. We also want to try the smoothies in the future!
google avatar

Carla F.

Yelp
If you're in the area, this place is definitely worth checking out. I placed my order online and went to pick it up shortly after. The process was fairly easy. The food was so flavorful and the meat was tender. I decided to try the 614 Arepa and it was so cheesy but oh so delicious. The only down side of things was that it is a good truck outside of a gas station so parking can be tricky!
google avatar

Fred B.

Yelp
OMG... this... is... SO... GOOD...!!! Cilantro is my new favorite ethnic food truck. The 614 Arepa is amazing - grilled, seasoned steak in a perfect corn arepa. The Sweet Plantain Empanada is simply delicious. The fruit juice smoothie was, yea, also delicious. Prices are fair for the quality. I can't wait to go back...

Jennifer P.

Yelp
DE-LI-CIOUS! Enough said!!! Order e from DoorDash and it was still super fresh! I will definitely be back again!!
google avatar

JJ G.

Yelp
Very good and very authentic Venezuelan food. A little pricey in my opinion by 2 to 3 dollars more than what they should be charging for arapas.
google avatar

Yelp
Cilantro is a Venezuelan food truck that parks in the Sunoco Gas Station off of Kings Ave. This place is one of my best finds this year. I tried the chicken empanadas, Queen arepa and Patacones. The empanada was light and crispy. I got my arepa original style instead of fried which was still amazing. It was layered with pulled chicken, avacado, cilantro sauce and loads of cheese. The Patacones were crispy and filled with some amazing pulled pork. The highlight of this place is their cilantro sauce that thing is so addictive I could drink a bucket of it, better grab some extras cause you are going to need them. The service is prompt the owners were kind and friendly. Overall definitely going to keep coming back to them more often.
google avatar

Mel T.

Yelp
A friend and I were craving authentic arepas and Cilantro definitely delivered. They have been around for about a year, but this was our first trip. The truck was easy to find off of King Avenue and the owners were very friendly. They even gave us their favorite suggestions on what to order, which helped me decide on the Queen Arepa. They deliver it to your car which was wonderful on a cold night. The Queen Arepa was filling and delicious. I would definitely order it again. The empanada, however, left much to be desired. I love my empanadas and was sad to see that it was barely full of meat and mostly full of air. I would come back again, but will be sticking to the arepas in the future.
google avatar

Blake R.

Yelp
My goodness! I was thoroughly happy with this food truck! The food is very well prepped and thought out! Touch of their culture was amazing in the quality and flavors put into the food! Well worth it!
google avatar

Adriana L.

Yelp
This place was amazing! The staff were all sweet and welcoming. The decoration is well done. The presentation and taste of the food was top-tier. I would totally recommend this place Came down for the first time with my family and we will definitely be pinpointing this location. The meat was well cooked and rich. The plantains were sweet and just right. The energy of the place is very welcoming and joyful. I'll be posting a photo on insta with this beautiful background

Yelp
This is such a solid food truck, and the fact that you can find it always in the same spot at the Sunoco on King Ave means steady business. The star here are the arepas that you can customize yourself or snag a special right off the menu. I decided to make my own with just steak, fried cheese, and their cilantro sauce, and it was absolutely delicious. It was so good. I don't usually have much to brag about, but I posted it to Instagram, and it was so popular at the truck that they named it the 614 Eats arepa, so that's pretty cool. Overall, the guys are super nice here, and everything is pretty fairly priced, from the arepas to the bowls to the patacons. You can't go wrong no matter what you order.
google avatar

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants I've tried recently. I've tried multiple things there and all have amazing flavor. Cilantro sauce is one of my favorite sauces around. I wish they'd bottle it and sell it. The "beef" is steak which is nice. Sausage is smoked and has so much flavor, but not overwhelming. Tons of meat per order. Little short in time so can't write a more organized review and thought of review, but wanted to get one in before I forgot many details. Just trust me, it's damn delicious.
google avatar

Brent T.

Yelp
Delicious food and such friendly staff! We went for lunch today, and had a couple of their lunch specials. They were smaller versions of a couple of their regular entrees, more modestly priced, but we still took home leftovers. We had the Grilled Chicken Salad and the Venezuelan Pabellón. We'll be back!

Sabra H.

Yelp
The food is REALLY delicious, quite flavorful!! I had the Venezuelan pabellon! Serving size was more than enough, I was glad I had enough to take home. The decor and atmosphere are very pleasant and inviting!! I the soursop fruit drink, a bit pricey but tasty and delicious!! The quesillo was beautifully presented and was just as delicious!! I look forward to returning and experiencing more of this wonderful spot and menu!

Yelp
Found this food truck on a humbug going to another cafe and I made sure to lock it for next time. Never even heard or tasted arepas before but I gotta say this was a great introduction to the cultures favorite. They have a lot of local favorite I presume so I stuck to one of those in the "614 Arepas" .. the 614 Arepa comes with WELL SEASONED grilled beef with grilling cheese and sauced up with their signature cilantro sauce ... absolutely fire! Would come here a third time and I recommend others to do the same!

B H.

Yelp
When I say this is the best food I have ever had in my life! I got the 614 arepa (I'm not a grilled beef person but this was the most tender, well cooked, well seasoned beef I've ever had), a shredded beef empanada, a ground beef empanada, fries, and churros. Everything was fresh, everything was hot, crispy, flavorful. The cilantro sauce is amazing too. They don't speak much English but they have a translation app available to use, and they are so nice and friendly! I have nothing bad to say about this place, I'm just sad I didn't know about it sooner! I can't WAIT to go back.
google avatar

Charles T.

Yelp
Wonderful authentic delicious Venezuelan arepas. Quality and service were outstanding.

Ladan N.

Yelp
I highly recommend this food truck (they also have a standing restaurant in Sawmill, but I have not personally been there). The staff are super nice and patient. It was my first time trying arepas and the gentleman taking my order was very kind and helped me decide what dish to get. They even gave me yuca fries sample to try (so good!).
google avatar

Jillian D.

Yelp
Wow! First time here after recommendations and it did not disappoint. Delicious comfort food, and huge portions at a good price. You're gonna need a fork and knife for this one. Customer service was also great, staff was super friendly and answered all our questions. Really awesome to have dietary friendly options, this one was vegan. Arepas are made with corn flour, and these are gluten-free friendly if you get the original, which is grilled, rather than fried. Might not be safe for someone with celiacs, but good for anyone with a sensitivity or intolerance. Yummy comfort food that doesn't hurt my stomach? Incredible. The vegan arepa is on the sweeter side, filled with plantains, squash, bell pepper, and black beans, but balanced nicely by the arepa. For meat-eaters, my partner has had the Queen Arepa and today got the December arepa, and couldn't pick which one was more delicious. Definitely a must-try!
google avatar

Yelp
The Cilantro food truck is great landing food. The staff is always nice and patient with my many questions. I only tried their Cachapa it has a side of fried pork. It is filled with the thickest cheese ever. They have several Empanadas that you can choose from. I can't wait to try other items on my next visit. The hours very so I will look online before visiting.

Lauren G.

Yelp
the Miami sunrise smoothie is the best smoothie I've had in my entire life. It tastes like it's fresh and is thick unlike other smoothies that are watery and made with syrup. I have also tried multiple food dishes and have enjoyed them all. The arepas are so good and are my current craving. there isn't much seating at the food truck, so I typically eat in my car or take to a nearby park. After you order, they give you a buzzer to take with you and it will buzz once your food is ready to be picked up. Ive gone numerous times and have never had a long wait.
google avatar

Melitta S.

Yelp
Ordered via uberEats for a unique experience. To preface, we've had Venezuelan food in Playa de Carmen that we absolutely loved. We ordered make your own which was good except I'm Extremely picky about my chicken. I wasn't a fan of the grilled chicken...but when I removed it the arepa tasted magnificent. Next time I'll try some other protein. The beef empanada was delicious. Cilantro sauce = perfection Oh and get the plantains!!!!!
google avatar

Patrick S.

Yelp
Wow! This place has been on my random for a while and it exceeded all expectations. A slick food truck located in a gas station parking lot serving up some of the best Latin food I've had in this side of the Equator. The first bite it was like I was transported back to enjoying arepas on the streets in Colombia! The yucca fries were hot and fresh. The arepa itself was crunchy with a generous helping of meat and fried sweet plantains. The dipping sauce was fantastic as well. This is a must if you are a gluten for Latin food!
google avatar

Philip M.

Yelp
The food, service and ambiance of this spot are fantastic. I got the Queen Arepa and it was fresh, unique and flavorful!
google avatar

Maria A.

Yelp
The best arepas I've had in a long time!! Super authentic and yummy. Will definitely be coming back.
google avatar

Amy B.

Yelp
Amazing food!! One of my fav places to eat in all of Columbus!! Highly recommend! Everything is always delicious!!!!

Kate P.

Yelp
The food & service here is lovely! We have both sat in and ordered food to go with it all being delicious. This spot meets all my cravings for latin American food, especially the plantains, black beans, and Arepas. I recommend any of their drinks as well.
google avatar

Carmen M.

Yelp
Wow! Visiting from out of town. The most delicious "Take back to the hotel meal"! Had the 614 arepa! Melted in my mouth.

Mo W.

Yelp
This food truck is starting to be one of my favorite go to spots for South American food. The empanadas are flaky and flavorful and 614 Arepa has probably the most succulent and juciy steak I've ever eaten anywhere!

Rebecca M.

Yelp
This is the food truck of my childhood and dreams. YOU NEED TO HAVE THE 614 arepa. Get yuca fries with extra sauce on the side. The grilled steak... IS TO DIE FOR. So juicy EVERY TIME. This place never disappoints
google avatar

Maggie B.

Yelp
It took one visit to Cilantro Latin food truck for me to declare it my favorite food truck in Columbus - it is THAT good. I'd never had an arepa before visiting, so I don't have anything to compare these arepas to - but I also don't plan on finding any place to compare it to because I know I can find a delicious one right here. The cheese was hot, gooey, sort of crunchy and so delicious. The steak was tender and flavorful. I could bathe in the cilantro sauce. The food was astounding, and just as amazing was the service. It's hard to commend food truck workers on their service, as there isn't as much interaction. However, the employees at Cilantro care about their product AND their customers - they treat you with respect, attention and kindness. I love this place.

Lisa M.

Yelp
The food is fresh and excellent I highly recommend this place those who love well seasoned good food
google avatar

Nikole P.

Yelp
this place was soooo good I had the fried pork arepa with fried sweet plantains pork was tender and flavorful plantains could have been fried a little longer but they were still good.

Yelp
Cilantro food truck is permanently parked in the Sunoco on King Avenue. They are open for lunch and dinner Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. They are closed Tuesday and Wednesday. I have been wanting to try this food truck out for months. And today I finally made it happen!!! One of the cilantro employees walked me through the menu. They offer a couple of house favorites, but you can also build your own meal. That is the way I chose to go. I did a bowl with salad and rice. I asked for the protein suggestion and one of the many suggestions was pulled pork (I'm not a big beef eater). You then get to pick the mix ins. I was quick to pick plantains (for an upcharge of $0.50, which I would gladly pay). You see plantains was one of the big reasons I wanted to seek out Cilantro Food Truck in the first place. I also went with guacamole, pico de gallo, and black beans. I initially was not going to choose a cheese from the next step, but the workers highly suggested grilled cheese. And I always listen to the suggestions of the professionals, I mean they know best right! The last step to building your own meal is choosing your own sauce, and I knew that I needed to try the spicy cilantro sauce. I also had to order the side of sweet fried plantains with cheese (for $4.99). They came highly suggested and I just love plantains!!!!! While you wait for your food, you can wait in your car. When the food is done the awesome employees of Cilantro bring the food directly to you in your car. What a kind service, especially during these difficult COVID times. The 7-10 minute wait went by quick! The food was delivered directly to us. Then the difficult part came, we had to drive home with the delicious smells of our lunch wafting through the truck cab. It took everything we had not to break into our lunch while we were driving home. It was very difficult. After we arrived home, we dove in. The first thing I noticed was how well Cilantro packaged their to go food. For example they kept the black beans and spicy cilantro in their own separate containers to not cause any of the food to be soggy. Also to allow me to decide the amount I actually wanted to add. I dipped some pulled pork into the spicy cilantro sauce and the flavors blew my mind. I am so glad they did not add the spicy cilantro sauce, because man does it have a kick. The pork melted in my mouth. It was the opposite of dry. It was moist, flavorful, and tender. The rice was done perfectly, almost sticky. The guacamole and pico de gallo added another amazing layer of flavors. I ate the grilled cheese on its own and I mentally thanked the Cilantro employees for suggesting it! On to the sweet fried plantains. They are sweet!!! They are expertly cooked!!! The best I have had! They alone would keep me coming back! But truly ever since I had lunch all I can talk about is how amazing the food was and when are we going to pick up another meal from Cilantro. I appreciate how helpful and kind the employees were! I love the convenient location of the truck! But most of all the food was fantastic! Truly some of the best I have had. Better than a lot of sit down restaurants! It is memorable and delectable! Please seek out Cilantro Food Truck and order the plantains!!!!
