15 Best Tapas Bars in Madrid | Condé Nast Traveler

"The jamón ibérico brand Cinco Jotas is so synonymous with quality that to call something "Cinco Jotas" in the local vernacular is to say it's the "crème de la crème." Of course, there's no better place to taste the Bentley of hams than in its proprietary bar and restaurant, where you're assured luxurious, perfectly diaphanous slices every time. Nutty and complex with a finish that lingers on your tastebuds long after you've swallowed, Cinco Jotas' jamón might forever ruin prosciutto and serrano ham for you." - Benjamin Kemper

We had a diner out for Saturday night. It was great but not korean style. People were having only simple appetizers.. after 9:30 pm. Strange dining habits ;) Enjoyed.

Had the pork shoulder and it was cooked perfectly. The meat was tender and the taste savory. The salmon was also cooked to perfection. Great wine selection as well. Very elegant upscale feel. The staff was friendly. Highly recommended.

Great restaurant, just outside the hustle and bustle of central Madrid, the service was very good and the pork cuts were excellently cooked with a clear sense that the place took pride on what they do.

Google
Wonderful restaurant to taste traditional Tapas with great choice of wines, beers and spirit's. Staff very polite and attencious and chic decoration, placed in the most famous street for the shopping lover's Calle Serrano.

We stumbled upon this place accidentally and it was such a great surprise! All of the food was amazing, the wine was perfect and best of all the service was excellent - so helpful and genuine. The grilled pork is incredible and the starters were equally as good - particularly the gnocchi with truffle oil and some amazing green beans with egg yolk. They also had great fish and seafood dishes - the scallops with black ink risotto were delicious. Highly recommend!

If you want to have a great meal, this is the place. Great food, excelent place and the best of all is the service. The price maybe a little more expensive than others but not to high!!!

Google
Based on the most important items this restaurant gets a 4. Food: 4. We ordered 2 dishes (Spanish Tortilla and Torreznos). I can say that both were amazing! Torreznos were crunchy but not dry, and the Tortilla was perfectly done. Place: 4. Location is amazing. Perhaps cars are too near, but it is what it is. Service: 4. Very friendly waiters assist you and make your experience enjoyable.

Yelp
Great place. Felt very welcomed through the time I was here. Beautiful outside terrace and heat warmers on top to keep warm after sundown

Yelp
Visited on a Gate 1 tour. This was our first dinner included with the tour. They served all the food that you would expect like croquettes with ham and fish and cured meats but this all tasted like cruise ship food with mediocre quality for masses. Not the best... I'm on vacation in Madrid and want the best. Hope the next dinner that is included is better or I'm skipping the dinners and going off on my own. Further, I cannot attest to the quality of the food when it is not served to a large group.

Yelp
Above average food for an above average price. Staff is very nice and accommodating. Iberico ham was amazing as well. Everything else was okay, we ordered the steak and the scallop.

Yelp
We came here with Gate 1 as our Farewell Dinner. I must say that their services are lacking, and so is their food! The server kept on serving fried pieces of seafood balls. But, there is neither menu list nor explanation as to what we were eating! What if someone in our group has food allergy?!! Unimaginable!!! The seafood tapas fried balls were okay but way too starchy. The steak meat was so tough it would take Goliath to plow through the meat!!!! And, the dessert was too rough for a cheesecake!!!

Yelp
As recommended by our Gate 1 tour guide Jose so we went BUT BE CAREFUL ITS A TOURIST TRAP RESTAURANT !!!!!!!!!!!! Waiter will give you breads you thought it comes with the entree you ordered but they will CHARGED YOU SEPERATELY ! They don't tell you . You sit down they offer you bread you thought it's comes with the meal DON't get it ... we ordered only Jamon Iberico then when they served it comes with the bread with tomato THAT WE didn't order but thought it comes with the Jamon but when we got our bill they charge us . Even though WE DID NOT ORDER !!!!!

Yelp
On a recent Friday night, I visited the Cinco Jotas restaurant in the Salamanca barrio de Madrid. It is 1of 6 in a small chain of restaurants in Madrid with a few in other parts of Spain. The restaurant on Calle de Serrano is very well done ... catering to business type people looking for a nice drink and a bite to eat in a really pleasant, bustling yet very inviting environment. I would not let the chain bit bother you as this seems to be the customer facing establishment for one Spain's leading producers of Iberian Ham and it seems to have become quite popular. We were the only tourists in the restaurant despite its central location and we were treated really well. I think the management keeps customer service as a top priority and it shows in the type of people that they hire...sincerely pleasant, professional and friendly. Food was great, wine was really nice and the experience was terrific.
