Moons ago, Garden City was thus named for the many gardens that once bloomed here. While those days are gone, the recent revitalization of arts, wine, and beer in today's Garden City perfectly keeps with this abundant history.
Cinder is the perfect example of one of the many fantastic things happening in Garden City. Tucked just off Chinden, wonderful wines from grapes grown in the Snake River Valley area are being made in this local winery.
I was lunching with a friend at the nearby Cobby's, when we decided to extend the afternoon with wine tasting at Cinder. Their tasting room is large and beautiful and the service we received was excellent. We were able to try a few different wines. Their Syrah and Tempranillo were two that definitely stood out for me. I also went home with a bottle of their Laissez Faire White, which is a solid every day sort of white blend.
The staff is friendly, down-to-earth, and approachable in their knowledge and expertise. There are no pretensions here--just great wine served with kindness.
If you're ever looking for something to do on a Saturday afternoon beyond the usual--wine tasting with Cinder is sure to provide a pleasant experience.
