Living in Hawai'i, there's so many reasons why someone may need a lei. In some cases, it's for a special occasion and you want to make sure it looks really good!
LOCATION: While Chinatown is not my favorite place to frequent, I will come here for Cindy's. The reason I say Chinatown isn't my favorite is because it's often congested with traffic and there's limited parking. But you know, sometimes you just have to suck it up for the place you want to go! Cindy's is located on Maunakea Street, which is a busy street already! It's hard to miss as they have a big sign for their stall!
PRODUCTS: Whether you need a simple lei or a fancy lei, Cindy's has got you covered! What's great is they have premade ones if you're just stopping by to pick something up! Or, if you know what you want...when you want it, you can always pre-order with them!
This review is specifically for their lei po'o (or haku lei.) I've purchased my haku from them twice already and both times I was just so impressed. Let me just say that Cindy's was actually my emergency/panic backup as I originally had ordered my haku from someone else but things happened and let's just say I didn't end up with a haku. So I'm panicking a little or a lot and head to Cindy's on the day of the event! Thankfully, BOTH times, Cindy's pulled through for me. I mean they saved the day. I had photo shoots and parties occurring so it's not like I could just reschedule my event! The show would have to go on whether or not I found a nice haku! But Cindy's didn't let me down!
The most recent time I visited Cindy's, I needed a haku for me as well as a haku for my little one. Last minute, I call Cindy's to see if they have any "glamour" haku available. A gentleman answered and said they have one left! He politely took my information and said he could put it on the side for me! How sweet! I rush over to Cindy's to look at the haku, which was stunning by the way. But I noticed that they had some "local" style haku that matched me and the occasion a little better. The only thing was they didn't have a haku for the little one to match. But that was my fault because I was so last minute! Which leads me to my next section...
CUSTOMER SERVICE: Their customer service is just 10-stars. From the very beginning, all the people I interacted with were amazing. But hands down, I need to applaud Renee. She went ABOVE AND BEYOND! First off, she was so polite when I arrived and helped me get the haku I had reserved. But when she started discovering I had ideally wanted matching haku for me and my little, she even offered to have them make completely new, custom ones! She worked with me to figure out what leaves/flowers were available and what I wanted! They ended up making new ones and they were going to be ready for pick up that afternoon before my event! When they were done, they called me and Renee sent me photos of the finished haku and I was just so happy! They looked great! I just wanted to emphasize that Renee was so sweet and accommodating and patient with me! I wish everyone who worked in customer service was like her! Seriously!
I am just so pleased with Cindy's Lei Shoppe all the way around. Not only with their products, but also their customer service. Since I'm 0/2 for my haku from other places, I've just learned my lesson to come here first instead. The prices are on par with the other places so I'd be totally happy to come support this business again! If you're in need of any lei or flowers, I would HIGHLY recommend Cindy's!
