Cindy’s Review - Loop - Chicago - The Infatuation

"You Divvy’d around the lakeshore, squeezed your butt into a tiny chair at Second City, and took Snaps, Instas, and profile pics at the Bean. What’s left to show your high school crew who are from out of town? How do you appease someone who clearly wants to check off all 20 items on “Top 20 Things in The Windy City!” How do you impress Rebecca, who continuously reminds you that Chicago just doesn’t compare to that one summer she spent in New York? All signs point to Cindy’s. The location (in the midst of throngs of tourists), the wait (anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour to get into the elevator alone), the reservations (or lack thereof for groups under four) - are all irritating. It’s loud, busy, and the crowd can be slightly obnoxious. But you’re willing to put up with some pretty annoying sh*t for for the best view in town. In the Chicago Athletic Association hotel on Michigan Avenue, Cindy’s is one giant greenhouse with communal seating, a large over-crowded bar, and the crown jewel - the patio. When you step out on that magnificent overhang, it’s suddenly all worth it as you take in the sun setting over Millennium Park. Plus, this deck is good almost year-round due to some strategically placed fire pits and heaters. Foodwise, expect a good enough meal, but know you’re not really there for the food. The dinner menu consists only of large platters and sides, which isn’t always practical even if some items come in half portions. And when you add that to the unpredictable waits and inordinate level of noise, Cindy’s is only practical for certain situations like happy hour drinks, boozy brunches, and showing off to your out-of-town friends. But man is it perfect for those occasions. Our favorite situation is to go to Cindy’s early for a cocktail, head downstairs to the ground level Shake Shack for food, and then move to the mid-level Game Room for some bar games and follow-up drinks. Make sure to set your expectations properly. But your friends will be happy if you save them from the $22 Sears Tower ticket and put it towards a cocktail here instead. Food Rundown Crunchy Lettuces Crunchy lettuces and veggies bathed generously in a creamy, peppercorn dressing. Heavy-handed on the dressing, but still tasty. Burrata Good burrata with a lot crusty bread. The candied pecans and melon are a nice touch. Get it. Stone Ground Grits Thick, creamy grits with undercooked cherry tomatoes and balsamic. A nice side to share with the group. Pan Roasted Scallops Scallops aren’t really built for sharing, and that’s still true here despite the fact this is meant to be a shared scallops platter. Crispy Potatos Basically a side of truffle fries. Get them. Shellfish Platter A quality shellfish platter with lobster, shrimp, oysters, and crab legs. If you’re sharing with a group, the $50 or $100 options aren’t a bad idea. Double Cut Pork Chop It’s not real Chicago if it’s not pork. This one comes with eggplant and a sherry vinaigrette. Not great, not terrible, but filling and a safe bet. Chicken In any form, forgettable. We’ve tried both fried and roasted, and neither impressed. Your money is better spent on another cocktail. Brunch Brunch is always a great time to go, as long as you have all the time in the world and nowhere else to be. Nineteen dollars for eggs benedict is expensive, but remember, you’re partially paying for the view. Apple Cider Funnel Cake If we could funnel ourselves right inside this cake with bourbon vanilla parfait, apple butter, and salted caramel, we would. It’s an excellent dessert." - Sam Faye

Nice service but my manicure lasted less than 3 days…

Google
Acrylic fill | if like me, you have been scouring the area for a salon that does true acrylics — look no further. Linda and Cindy were so detail oriented and did an amaze job. I will be making this a regular spot.

Alexa Robbins

Google
New favorite nail place. Best I’ve had since moving back to the city. Space was clean, calming, and welcoming. Staff were kind, and incredibly detail oriented. I’m kind of crazy when it comes to my nails and I genuinely see nothing about them I would change. Prices are great. Will absolutely be coming back.

Nailah Armanie

Google
I will NEVER GO HERE again they charged me $104 for a basic acrylic nail job with gel nail polish why is gel nail polish $37?? I would understand if I got a design on them, or glow in the dark but it doesn't its a a plain job. Don't come here and spend your money you better of going somewhere else and get a decent price.

Lara Mayer

Google
Cindy’s is friendly, kind people, Always able to squeeze me in., my go-to on the UWS

Sabrina Avila

Google
Best manicure EVER by Wendy. She listened and did a FANTASTIC job. Very happy!!

Google
Great place to get your nails done Clean , great colors, always with smile and help customers

America Perez

Google
Walked in for the first time and staff was polite. I asked for acrylic with tips and they said they didn’t want the smell of acrylic so pushed back on me until I agreed to do dip. Felt strange to have to argue with the staff about the type of service I wanted even though they 100% provide it and I am the one paying. Job wasn’t awful but I had to go home and file my nails down myself to get them to my liking. Likely won’t be returning.

Yelp
The salon is clean and beautifully decorated (with plants and flower's) and calming music. every manicurist is talented and professional and speaks very well. Cindy, The proprietor of the salon checks during the service that all is going well. Every service was perfect.. I have had gel manicures, pedicures and eyebrow shaping. They are honest about what kind of manicure you need and do not try to oversell. Cindy's has been in the neighborhood for 20+ years when other salons come and go. I see the same friendly faces each week and notice that new comers are welcomed like long time customers Prices are reasonable, but the service is upscale. every week my manI/pedi is perfect and if I mess it up they graciously fix it.. AND.. there is water, chocolates snd mints.. love it there.. always feel special Susan.. long time client.

Abby S.

Yelp
My go-to spot! I've been coming here for years for mani-pedis. Very clean, comfortable, calm atmosphere and the managers are incredibly sweet. The technicians are solid. The regular manicure is very well-priced ($16) -- but I noticed that this wasn't lasting as long as I expected. I started picking the Essie Longwear colors ($19 regular manicure) and it's always spot on.
google avatar

Amy L.

Yelp
Great job at Cindy nails. Gel fill-in in Kyoto pearl and electric blue! Lasted 3 weeks each.

Abigail P.

Yelp
Extremely over priced, they charged $65 for a fill and $30 just for gel polish over, took almost an hour just to file my nails and used the drill that filed my nail bed really thin. There was not a lot of price transparency since the nail prices listed said $55 for the service, the place I was clean and the people were nice but def not worth the price

Jenny S.

Yelp
Well ... not me and my roommates best nail experience. We live around the block and we always like to have our nails done. Cindy's was the first nail salon in nyc since moving here. We will not be back. My roommate's nails broke within two days of our trip to Cindy's. The acrylics are like paper and they just broke on their own. Additionally, some were different lengths and were not filed properly. ALSO, the nail tech literally cut her. One of my nails has also fallen off and it's been less than a week since our trip. The store is nice and pretty and a relaxing environment, but that's it's only perk. Their services aren't good and we're confused about our relatively simple design requests - chrome and glitter. Can't wait to find a better salon.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is clean, but my gel manicure has started to chip off in several spots within less than a week twice in a row (the only times I've been here). The pedi is fine, but for $77 before tip for a gel mani and regular pedi, not worth it in my opinion. Maybe stick to regular mani pedi if you come here so you're not disappointed.

Shelby D.

Yelp
I loved the manicure, it came out great and was exactly what I wanted before pride! I made an appointment like 20 mins before and was seen as soon as I walked in. Mimi did a great job and I would definitely come back. These lasted a solid 3 weeks, my one complaint was that my cuticles weren't cleaned up in the process.

A. Y.

Yelp
I moved a few blocks north and started going to a new place that has since gone downhill. So I went back to Cindy's to see if it was worth the trek (and a few extra bucks) and I'm kicking myself for ever leaving. They actually take care of my feet here verse some of the other spots where they throw some moisturizer and polish on you and rush you out the door. $36 for a pedicure so still totally reasonable. I'm re-converted.

teresa l.

Yelp
Cindy runs a nice business here it's very clean and they give amazing pedicures . I love that it's quiet as well. I have received great back massages as well . I'll keep going back :)
google avatar

Dyanna B.

Yelp
I have acrylic nails and of all the places I have gone in the city and in New Jersey by my home, I still always come back to Cindy's. Sally always takes her time and does my nails just how I like them. I always recommend this location to my friends and clients as I always get compliments on my nails.

Em K.

Yelp
I love Cindy's! I've been going for over a decade since I live very nearby, and I really love the place. They know me; I know Cindy and the managers there. They are always friendly, and they do a great job. Cindy's is a cut above the other nail salons in the area in terms of atmosphere and quality, and it is the only salon I try to go to! Anytime I go anywhere else, the experience isn't as good. Thanks very much for excellent nail service over the years, Cindy and team!
google avatar

Amanda G.

Yelp
This place was my first choice because it's the only clean location within a few blocks. Unfortunately each time I've gone there, my gel manicure peels up within a few days. For $47 this is ridiculous. I have never seen this happen and I've been getting gel manicures for years. It has happened repeatedly at this location. Don't make the same mistake I made several times in the past couple months.

Mallory B.

Yelp
FOUR hours after my manicure, the nail polish still wasn't dry. It smudged on literally everything. When I called, the woman said I should have stayed under the dryer longer. Anyone who has ever had a manicure knows that nail polish should dry eventually on its own. Not sure what kind of janky polish they use there, but huge waste of money and will never go back. I have glam squad coming tomorrow to fix their mess.

Andrea B.

Yelp
Cleanest, calmest nail salon in the area at a good price. Nice vibe. Relaxing music. Nice lighting. You are not allowed to use your phone extensively.
google avatar

Lila G.

Yelp
Don't even think about getting acrylic done here if Sally isn't available. I got a full set here a few months ago with Sally and it was great so I went back expecting the same quality. Three different women tried to apply a new set of acrylic and the outcome is pretty sad. Almost every nail is uneven and my left and right hand are drastically different lengths (the right hand got too short when they tried to fix the acrylic application). Besides that, there was NO cleanup done around my nail or with my cuticle. I'm not giving them 1 star because they at least attempted to fix the mistakes and offered for me to come back in a couple days to try and fix more. Oh, and this cost $67 before tip.

Molly L.

Yelp
Overpriced, the least expensive acrylics were $75 and over $100 for french tips. Nails look okay, but the nail tech cut me twice and was not very nice.

Kk P.

Yelp
Went with a friend and the service was honestly not good. The woman who was doing my nails was rushing and kept taking long breaks to talk with other people. The polish is already coming off after ONE DAY. Sally was doing my nails so if you choose to go here at least avoid her. She kept pushing my hands down for no reason to "relax them".Completely unacceptable. Not to mention the nail polish she put on is so thin I can see through to my nail. It was also unevenly painted and looks chunky. I honestly want to take the polish off already because it looks so bad but that would just be even more of a waste of money. Will not be coming back here ever and advise other people to spend their money elsewhere.

Alison J.

Yelp
Inconsistent. If you luck out & get someone good, you'll love this place. But 3/4 of the time, the person gives you a sloppy manicure / pedicure. Today, she didn't push back my cuticles at all - for either my feet or hands. I should have something in the moment, but confrontation is hard. You don't want to "that person" but in hindsight, I paid for nothing but a nail polish. I can do that myself at home. The owner is always there - she should pay more attention. I think she wants to have a nice / quality place. On the plus side - Cleanliness seems ok. & does have a neighborhood / popular feel. That's probably because the UWS is short on good, cheap nail places. Once summer comes & you're in flip flops, go downtown!! :)

Nikki B.

Yelp
I have been going to Cindy's for 15 + years now, ever since it opened. The salon is a neighborhood treasure. Every technician does excellent work. Everyone is friendly and kind. Cindy herself creates a welcoming, caring atmosphere, as does the manager, Ambicca. I wouldn't think of going anywhere else for a manicure or pedicure, and the massages are fabulous!
google avatar

Charlis F.

Yelp
I love this place. Upscale setting for extremely reasonable prices. Cindy is also very friendly, and she dresses well too :) Great manicures for only 9.50. Minus one star though because the nail technicians are always trying to push this "free" massage which actually costs 20 dollars.

J J.

Yelp
Not the place to go for a men's pedicure. I paid $75 and they never touched my nails. When they said I was done I asked if they could file my nails - which the did, half-heartedly, for less than 2 minutes. Will never go back there.
google avatar

Estina R.

Yelp
Yes!!!! This is my favorite nail salon in the area. Every nail technician is excellent and they make sure you are happy with whatever service you choose. There are a ton of color options and the salon is very clean and neat. Can't say enough kind words to express how glad I am to have this salon in the neighborhood.
google avatar

Giselle P.

Yelp
I have been going to this salon for over 10 years and obviously I am a fan! Only advice I will give you is make sure to stay away from nail technician "Amy". Amy is the worse ever! Rude, doesn't listen just do whatever she feels like and does a pretty crappy job. Aside from her all others do a good job

Cassie L.

Yelp
First time there + it will be my last time there. Lady who worked on my nails looked like she really didnt want to be there + it definitely reflected on my nails. Bubbles on my nails, missed spots were simply dabbed with some nail polish + wasnt blended in well. My area around my fingers were just as dry as when i went in (lack of lotion? cuticle oil? They were not cheap on nail polish remover though). + it made me feel uneasy knowing the lady sitting beside me who just had a particular set of tools used on her was used on me afterwards with no sterilizing at all.
google avatar

Kyra K.

Yelp
NEVER EVER EVER GO. Worst experience I've ever had. Twice. Not only were the employees incredibly rude, I could definitely understand what she was saying to other customers and employees about me! I was not being rude, I literally came in as a walk-in and politely asked for a gel manicure. The second I sat down I was rushed and they treated me as a burden and an annoyance. Save your money. Go ANYWHERE else but here. Not only is it incredibly overpriced for such piss poor service but she didn't even do simple maintenance on my hands. And when she messed up my nails she got angry at me and didn't fix it - just sent me on my way. I came to treat myself and relax (I do not splurge on things like this often) and left feeling worse. WORST.

Maria M.

Yelp
Dear Cindy and Cindy's Nails, This recommendation has been a long time coming. My daughter and I have been customers for approximately 12 years and are truly enamored by the care and professionalism we have experienced at Cindy's during these years. We are now approaching the first anniversary since the reopening after Covid-19 restrictions were eased. Small businesses were much at risk of closing, but Cindy's prevailed and did so in a stellar fashion. The care with which they have placed dividers, instilled thorough disinfection practices after every client and temperature checks are truly the sign of the best and safest service you can receive. Their prices are reasonable as well. Cindy has given work to many talented women that work there, ensuring that their families are supported. She is a generous and thoughtful employer and is able to put her staff and clients above everything. I highly recommend this business and urge anyone that wants to get a healthy, safe, and well executed spa experience to absolutely support this small business that serves as a model for many. Thank you!
google avatar

Zoe D.

Yelp
A very nice lady (I guess the owner) talked to me about plants in front of the salon. The flower beds looks beautiful and she takes very good care of them. I'd like to check out this salon soon and have a nail treatment.
google avatar

Julia C.

Yelp
Today Cindy's lost me as a client. Everything was going fine (I even overlooked the most awkward, choppy, and non-relaxing back massage I've ever received) until the bill came. The technician did an ok job with my nails, but she rushed and it was a little sloppy. Ok, fine. I needed a back massage so anything was better than nothing. Ok, fine. The bill for all of that was much higher than my normal place (Broadway Nails & Massage... Go there!! Reasonable prices and fantastic service.) which was closed tonight. I paid it and tipped my technician $8. She gave me a dirty look and told me it wasn't enough. Are you kidding me?! I need to see a chiropractor after the massage you gave me and that wasn't enough for you? I was being generous with that tip! I would have considered coming back in the future (minus the massage) until the ungrateful reaction that I received. Too bad.

Lisa S.

Yelp
I love Cindy's! This place is as spotless as the technicians are meticulous. It is slightly more expensive then some other places in the area and the massages during Nani's and pedi's could be a little longer but that is me being. It picky. LeLe (I hoped I spelled that right!) is the best - her gel mani's can easily last 3 weeks. And everyone here is SO nice. I highly recommend.
google avatar

Kali A.

Yelp
Love this place! It's very clean. The atmosphere is super chill and spa-like so you can actually relax. You won't see people taking on their phones while your trying to zone out. The ladies do a great job and look very professional. The owner is a doll and very pleasant when dealing with her.
google avatar

Morgan R.

Yelp
No. Just don't. Went in for a simple manicure that I was told (by Cindy herself) would cost $13.50 but right before she was about to put the color on said it was $5 extra??? LMAOO
google avatar

Irm M.

Yelp
I came in on a very busy day. Even though the place was packed, I was quickly seated for my pedicure. I decided to upgrade to the $35 spa pedicure since I was really in need of a massage. I was pleased with the service, the massage was so nice and my feet looked great at the end. While my feet weren't scrubbed completely smooth, I still felt it was worth the price. BIG deductions on the fact that I didn't see them clean ONE tub in between pedicures. That is so unsanitary and if they don't clean the tubs, I can only imagine what else they don't clean. My feet didn't get infected, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone else's did. Such a shame, would have been 4 stars otherwise.
google avatar

Jane A.

Yelp
ZERO STAR. The worst manicure I have ever had in my entire life. I asked for a gel manicure and they didn't even know how to do it. Every nail was uneven. I would never go back. Beware.
google avatar

Jacqueline C.

Yelp
I decided late Sunday evening to get a pedicure and this was one of the few nail salons still open in the UWS. I arrived at around 8:15 p.m . and was expected to be turned away, but they told me to grab a seat. For $18, I received a good pedicure in a very clean establishment. The salon stocks a large collection of nail polish and I was tempted to try some of newer, funkier colors they have on stock, but ended up sticking with what I knew. My pedicurist seemed efficient and not rushed, which was surprising because the salon was closing. I was exhausted and not in the mood to chat, but it seemed like the other customers were regulars and had pretty good relationships with their nail technicians. Anyway, if you live in the area and want a consistently good pedicure in a clean setting, this place is probably a safe choice.
google avatar

Haley H.

Yelp
They were super nice and all, but they left lumps of polish on my acrylics that warped the shape of them and left them super thick. Would rather go back home to Indiana to get my nails done. Not what I thought it would be at all.
google avatar

Mihsa S.

Yelp
Cheap. The lady at the front desk was not friendly at all. I asked her for advice on a fall nail color and she just looked at me as if I was crazy, she didn't even answer my question. The service was just service - my technician seemed like she was in a rush when she was giving me my mani. Bubbles on all of my nails and she wasn't really thorough. Some of my nails go from light to dark while others are solid but darker; in other words, uneven coating. If you want to get your nails done just for the sake of getting them done, get them done here. But if you want a warm, friendly staff and nails that look great, go somewhere else.
google avatar

Maddy G.

Yelp
Just a public service announcement, don't get waxed here! The technician did not know that you are not supposed to repeatedly go over the same area (which I learned after serious bruising). Also half way through I was horrified to notice she was double dipping! It's cheap but not worth it!
google avatar

Jennifer B.

Yelp
Now that spring has sprung, I was looking to get the toes sandals-ready and Cindy's had the most consistently average to good reviews in my neighborhood. I'd say that's about what they are...average to good. I don't really have much to complain about, though I don't really have much to praise either. We walked in without an appointment and, after choosing our colors, were seated expeditiously. The colors are pretty standard. Lots of reds and pinks which move into blues and purples with a few greens and oranges mixed in for shock value. The pedicure lasted maybe all of 20 minutes. Being that it was my first pedi of the season, I had hoped for a little more scrubbing around the ball and heel of my feet, but that portion lasted about 15 seconds per foot. The massage was virtually non-existent. Comparing it to pedicures I've had in other cities, I'm used to a nice long massage of lotions and oils into my feet and legs lasting sometimes upwards of 5 minutes. The color went on smoothly and the edges were cleaned up nicely. Don't expect any small talk with the techs, they all seem very intent on getting you out of the chair as fast as humanly possible. Afterwards, they stick you under a dryer and forget about you as soon as you pay. My total was $21 and I could swear my girl rolled her eyes at the $3 tip I gave her from my change. Recommended if you are looking for a quick pedi from robotic techs who seem to have at least a basic understanding of what they're doing. Just don't expect much else.
google avatar

Rrose S.

Yelp
The first time I went to Cindy's was about a year ago, just for a pedicure and it was fine. Nothing fancy but it lasted a couple of weeks. Recently I went for a manicure and pedicure and am not sure whether I will go back. I don't know if it was my specific technician (who didn't have a name tag) or if all of them are the same, but it felt very rushed. I don't get pedicures often and like many New Yorkers, I spend a lot of time on my feet so I definitely have rough patches and callouses on the bottom of my feet that I was looking forward to having exfoliated. While they did put some scrub on a pumice stone and rub it vigorously on my feet, all the callouses were still firmly in place when I got home. Disappointing. On to the manicure, which was also rushed. After we finished she took me over to the quick dry station and left me there for 20+ minutes. The drying lamps were still on when I finally decided to just leave -- I wasn't sure if I was supposed to wait for them to shut off on their own (like the one next to me did) or not. Every single nail has tiny bubbles in it -- I guess from the heat from the drying station? I admit, I've had less than 5 manicures in my entire life - every time I get one I usually mess it up/chip it before I even get from the salon to my house - but I know there shouldn't be bubbles. Next time I will go to a spa; it seems like here the goal is to get you in and out as fast as possible to make money. Sad because it's such a cute place and I like to support local businesses but the vibe is a little off for me.

Yelp
I called Cindy's on a Sunday afternoon for an impromptu 4-person mani/pedi party, and they told us to come right in. They gave us their private group space in the basement, so we could make noise and talk about whatever we wanted. The four technicians who assisted us were efficient and careful - all of us were happy! That was almost two years ago, and I've been a regular Cindy's client ever since. I don't live in the neighborhood, but it's worth my time to stop off in the UWS a couple of times a month to get my nails done well. Plus, there's a Le Pain Quotidien across the street, and The Blue Donkey Bar next door is great for happy hour and Jets games. Don't get me wrong, there are a few novices in the batch, but most of the ladies here are seasoned pros. I've gotten regular and gel manicures and pedicures, and highly recommend the gel pedicures as they last up to a month. The massages are pretty good, too. I especially recommend Amy, Helen and Sally. The decor is okay; the music is abysmal. Still, it's an inviting space, and they've renovated with new, awesome pedicure chairs in the last few months. Technicians provide a black basket for your shoes and accessories and carry your belongings while you get situated, which is a nice touch of courtesy. The owner doesn't let technicians gossip with one another - I think that's both a gift and curse for a trip to the nail shop, but the ladies are very focused on their work, and their high standards are evident.

Yelp
I love Cindy's. They used to be located in a TINY spot on 83rd between Amsterdam and Columbus, and I liked them then. Then they upgraded to this spot on Amsterdam that is probably 4 times the size of the old spot (and I think the old spot is still in operation as well). I love it because it feels infinitely cleaner, more spacious, and more relaxing than most of the small neighborhood nail places on the UWS, yet you don't pay any more for a mani/pedi than you do at any of the other places. And, I think they do a pretty good job. My manicures have lasted suprisingly long after visiting them. I've also had a 10 minute chair massage while there which was OK, and I've had my eyebrows waxed there once. I liked the shaping they did, but I think I probably needed to use the sensitive wax or something, because they felt a bit bumpy and irritated for the next few days. So, stick to nails here, and you'll be happy.

Yelp
I love Cindy's! I woke up on a Saturday morning and decided that I was definitely in need to some simple pampering. I walked by Cindy's and thought it was such a cute place. They had been open for about 15 minutes or so when I came in (there were already two other women getting there nails done). I grabbed my color and sat down right away- even without an appointment. The environment was bright and peaceful. They were arranging fresh flower bouquets throughout the shop, which I though was a nice touch. As for my manicure? Wonderful! The woman doing my nails took her time even though the salon began to buzz and women were putting there name on the waiting list. I was interested to see how long it lasted and boy, was I impressed! Even after moving furniture throughout the weekend due to Hurricane Irene, my nails didn't chip once! In fact, they lasted 9 days before they chipped! They definitely don't hold up like that when I get them done in CT! Even after I took the nail polish off, I noticed my nails felt stronger and thicker too. Maybe they use a strengthening base coat? For $9.50, all I can say is A+! Also, if you are interested in reading, there are new magazines all lined up on the dryers for you to grab! Highly recommend!!

Yelp
I went to Cindy's for the first time yesterday to get a bikini wax. Usually I go to one of their competitors down the street (it's five bucks cheaper there), but my last experience was so painful that I just had to see what else was out there. I can't believe what I've been missing all this time! Geddy (sp?) did my wax and I actually felt compelled to hug her after the experience. I've never felt so little pain during a bikini wax before! To top it off, I was in and out in ten minutes. I will definitely go back there again!

Yelp
Amazing service! My tot just fell asleep in the stroller and wanted to get a very needed mani-pedi. They were very accommodating and did a great job in under 40 min. The owner even was checking on him all the time. Thank you for a great experience!

Yelp
I am very distrustful of nail salons in general. So I always go there prepared to be disappointed. Cindy's really surprised me! I was with my best friend and my mother in law and we didn't wait long at all. Even though the place was packed, they arranged for us to sit together. Their color selection is good (they've got all the dark OPI shades that I like), the manicure was not rushed, the lady who did my nails applied the polish really perfectly! I appreciate that they take their time to do everything right. It was a pleasant experience and Cindy's will be my new nail spot. * For dark shade lovers : try OPI navy blue, it's so beautiful *

Yelp
I visited Cindy's for the first time on Saturday afternoon. It's clean and bright, and I got a good (not amazing) manicure for $9.50. The technician did good work and was efficient. The hand massage was virtually non-existent, though, and that's my favorite part. I took one star off because when we came in and asked for manicures, they sat us at stations right away. And then we had to wait 20 minutes before a technician was free. I am willing to wait on a weekend, but just tell us there's a wait so we can determine if we're willing to hang around. That being said, for the price I think it's a good place for a basic manicure. I may give their gel manicures a try next time and will report back.

Yelp
I needed a manicure and decided to try Cindy's based on the pretty good reviews. That was a mistake. The instruments did not seem clean, and the maicure was definitely rushed. The polish chipped in five nails the same night and I did not do anything other than undressing once I got home, taking a shower, and putting on clothes again. A manicure should last through unbottoning a cardigan. I'd rather spend a few dollars more and have a proper manicure that lasts more than 2 hours. I was extremely disappointed.

Yelp
I will never be back here. If I could give them a zero I would. This lady (the manager or owner, not sure) is Korean and she doesn't know it cause I don't look Korean but so am I and I understand what she's saying. The lady doing my pedicure was already very rough and going fast and not being careful but then the owner comes over and tells her in Korean to hurry up and get me done fast. When you're providing a service like this, even if you have other customers waiting you should put 100% effort into it and do your best. That's not what I got here. Not only that but their prices are outrageous. A simple basic pedicure was $25. I have lots of other places to choose from. I will not be back here.

Yelp
I lived in 3 different countries and in all of my experience in life this was be far the most NASTY and ARROGANT service I have ever received in my entire life. I have never been so mistreated. The people were incredibly rude and the service was awful. I went there to fix 2 broken acrylic nails. The reception at first was nice but once I was introduced to a lady named Sally. I've never seen such arrogance just because I asked to do these 2 broken nails first and then I might do the other nails after. From there she started whispering about me in an aggressive way with her colleague like i offended the queen of nails in NYC. Pushing my hands in aggressive way of course with her "accommodating" behavior my reaction wasn't the most comfortable. She pushed my hands aggressively and said looking with an angry face, "relax!"  I responded how about you relax then your customers will relax for sure. The technician said about her self "I am the best in NY and how dare you to actually want to see the job," which was clearly the worst offense someone could do to ask to see the job before deciding to do the whole job that would cost almost $100 plus more time.  First I wasn't sure about this place because I have someone nice and kind who does a great job always, this was just an emergency so I just asked to see the 2 broken nails fixed and then maybe I'd do the rest because I was not sure I had enough time to have the whole nails done.  NASTY AND ARROGANT behavior from the technician and not even try to talk with those sad, rude and mean people I ever saw in my life. They should be aware and be careful they not remembering that offending people like this could cost then a high price and even a lawsuit for emotional distress. The worse nightmare!!!
