When you see hot sauce on the table, and have to search for an available table, you know you're going to eat good. You know you have found the community's secret favorite hangout when they all share tables and scoot over for the next customer that just walked in. You know some wake up dreaming about this breakfast menu, when one of the call-ins is a staff member from waffle house on the way to work (true story).
When your server is wearing red check gingham and says "morning Ya'll" and you've never been, you wonder if mama is in the kitchen.
All in all, if you want quiche served with linen napkins, you may not appreciate all the country farm life decor and be disappointed, but you will miss an awesome priced omlette plate. Prices so cheap, you ask your dinner partner if they would like to also share the French toast plate with you, because you know you're gonna have the country fried steak biscuit with sausage gravy but dangit, the French toast is too hard to pass up.
The cons: not country enough to have liver-pudding. This was sad but the homemade biscuit made up for it.
Im a snob when it comes to real butter so i would personally think that would be an awesome touch of country, but from looking at the size of the line in front of the register says no one cares.
Went back a second time in same week!
No apple butter. Again, a little depressing but not a deal breaker.
Stole a bite of my daughter's grits and they were cooked right. Stole a bite of the omlette (so I could share with you guys of course) , and it was good.
Ya'll, .My first trip I said good morning to a gentleman and we shared pleasantries, I asked him how the food was, and he joyfully laughed and said I wouldn't be disappointed. Later, I went to go get some more NOT butter, and I came back to my daughter telling me the gentleman put a twenty dollar bill on our table and told us to enjoy our breakfast and to come back.
Good food, good folks. I love Greenwood. ❤️
Update* they have remodeled and it is coming along beautifully!
