Avoid this place: Rude employees and management. Not at all customer-oriented.
Wanting to give myself a break from my mind's preoccupations, I decided to treat myself to a daytime movie. I asked the girl in the box office "What time does the next Joker play?" She responded "The show times are all above you." I felt like I inconvenienced her and said "You can't just tell me the next showtime?" She didn't respond--OK, whatever--I looked above me and saw the next Joker played in an hour. I asked for one ticket and tried to pay by slipping my card under the window. The girl suddenly used both the palms of her hands and slammed them on the plexiglass surface, startling me. I got upset at her rudeness and said to her "Wow, that wasn't necessary!" and went in the theatre to complain of her attitude. Once in the theatre, I tried to explain how rude I was being treated. Admittedly, I was shaken up and excitable. The guy who claimed to have been the manager (though he didn't say he was at the time) said to me in a belittling tone "You don't have to yell in the theatre, let's go outside." Not once did he ask me what was wrong. He was confrontational, one-sided, biased. He said I was "angry" and that I shouldn't have tried to pay by slipping my card under the window--I didn't know that. There's no sign on the window stating this and the box office girl didn't specify how I ought to have paid. I am shocked at the treatment of this theatre. I did not deserve such rude, obnoxious, aggressive attitudes. All I wanted was to see The Joker and got treated as if I was an unwelcome bother! I hope this place goes out of business.
This experience ruined my day, actually had me fuming. I not only called the theatre to talk to the manager--who turned out to be the rude guy mentioned above--but I googled "bad customer service, how to handle." I came across this article: https://www.nbcnews.com/better/business/how-handle-bad-customer-service-grace-ncna854806, which helped me feel validated. I was insulted not only by the box office girl's poor, snide attitude towards me, but then to be treated as poorly from the manager who not once asked me why I was upset or even listened to me. He talked over me and took on a hostile attitude, making me feel helpless, attacked and unwelcome.
Thanks Cinema Village for ruining my day.
