Google
Theater is fine but I just sat through the loudest movie of my life which made an already unenjoyable movie (not the theaters fault obviously) even more unenjoyable. I should not be leaving a movie with a migraine because of the volume, and I should not have to cover my ears for half of a movie. I also heard multiple people complain when walking out so I know I am not just being dramatic. To Cinemark: check sound systems and volume before playing movies. I should not have to yearn for earplugs for a non action non horror movie.

I love this theater! Always a great experience. It is clean, and we always find good seats. We easily pickup our popcorn/drink order beforehand. Tickets are quite a bit less than AMC. We travel from Broomfield to come here! Refilling popcorn and drinks during the movie is super fast and easy!

Google
The theater experience was good. Seats were comfortable but weren't the reclining kind. But its not a big complaint though. One thing I noticed before the movie started was how thin the walls were between theaters. While waiting for the movie to start, I was able to hear the sounds of the movie being played next door. However, I didn't hear any sound 'leakage' once our movie started. Overall a good experience. And parking garage was conveniently located right next door and is free!

Google
Angel is the best! He’s a manager here and he took such amazing care of us for my daughter’s thirteenth birthday. ❤️ she had an amazing time and so did all her friends. Thank you for making it so easy. And the arcade and Photo Booth made it feel super special.

Google
We love coming here for $5 movie Tuesday!! Hardly ever a wait at the popcorn counter, but you can also order your snacks online ahead of time so they’re ready to go as soon as you arrive at the theater. Staff has always been friendly, and theaters always comfortable and clean.

Google
Clean theaters! Comfortable seats! Great picture! Great sound! What more could you ask for?

Google
Awesome theatre, never ending bucket of popcorn and Coke zero cup, comfortable seating, great sound and video in the Real 3D Cinema. Easy to find parking (on a week day)

Google
Nice clean theater in a fun area of Boulder. We were just in town for the day. We went right when it opened at 2pm and no one was in our theater. Staff isn’t super friendly but that’s fine. Ladies restroom only had soap in one dispenser.

Yelp
We come here often. We are always green with a friendly smile and welcome. The seats are comfortable and they are doing a better job keeping the theater clean. We like the refillable popcorn so we can have popcorn snacks for the next several days. They offer fun options like a Secret Movie too. We enjoy coming here so much we are Cinemark Movie Club members as well. Looking forward to many more movie experiences here!

Yelp
Parking is free , theater was clean and great guest service. I was visiting for a Paramount + viewing event of Star Trek Lower Decks (4th season premiere) They went all out with free candy , drinks , and popcorn. They also gave out fine promo swag and that was cool. It was a great way to celebrate Star Trek Day (Sept 8th) it definitely made me miss my dad who was a die hard trekie! I mean , the man , for his own funeral , made me get a guy to the play amazing grace on bag pipes just like Spock had in Star Trek II The Wrath of Khan. Rest in peace pops ! Anyway the theater is nice . It's a big theater. Nice bar offerings too. Even for a Friday night, it wasn't crazy busy. I'd visit again

Sierra C.

Yelp
I had the worst movie experience in my life. I know it's a "trend" to throw popcorn during the minecraft movie, but I wasn't expecting to get soda and icee poured on me TWICE. We went outside to alert the staff, to which they said they couldn't do anything unless they watched security tapes and implied it would be too much work to do. The staff was nice and refunded our tickets and gave us free vouchers, which is why this review isn't 1 star, but I do not see myself coming here again unless something is done to ensure this doesn't happen again. Never in my life have I seen so many snacks and drinks thrown around the theater, and knowing this is becoming a trend, I can't believe nothing more was done to prevent this.

Yelp
I stepped outside to take a call during a movie, they locked the door and when I tried to get back in they just looked at me then ignored me. Also had about 30 minutes of previews and ads

Yelp
Very worthy of my very best review. Today, I was in one of the theatres and accidentally inhaled my popcorn, and it was so bad, I actually lost consciousness. My wife called out and she reports that the entire theatre came alive and one of the folks in the audience gave me the heimlick maneuver and literally saved me. The entire theatre management reacted as they knew, turned the lights on, and calmly handled the situation. I didn't get to say anything to the person who helped me, but thank you. Also, the Manager and the Crew did a great job handling it and I heard bought all the others tickets. Peace. Ted Corless

Yelp
I really enjoy this theater! Love the fact that you can get your movie tickets a day or more ahead of time and the Tuesday night deal just can't be beat (note: if you purchase your tickets on line there will be a processing fee). The app is great, allowing you to view seat availability for your show and keeps track of your Cinemark points earned. The staff is always friendly and they do a great job of keeping the theater clean. There are lots of snack choices from ice cream, to beer, to protein bars, really you have your pick (unless you have food allergies/intolerances that is - didn't see many options for those folks. Also, word to the wise - sign up for their newsletter/email blasts. They send great coupons and sometimes even free screening ticket invites!

Yelp
My friends and I were wanting to see The Lighthouse in theaters, and this was the only theater in a 50 mile radius airing the movie. It is nice to see a large theater, such as this one, run smaller indie films. I had never been to this location before, and I found the theater exterior and the surrounding area to be very stylish and classy. The interior of the theater wasn't the nicest I had seen, but it was nice to see that they had a arcade room for the kids to spend some time before the movie starts. The theater runs the same promotions you would see at an AMC, such as a movie club membership and discounted movie Tuesdays. The concession stands were huge, and also included a Pizza Hut stand, so there is no shortage of food options. I opted for the large tub of popcorn and some candy. As expected, the prices were high, but the quality of the popcorn was above average. Since the concession worker butters the popcorn of you, you may get too little or too much butter, but our popcorn was just right. Finally, the theater itself was a little disappointing. This theater does not offer the recliner seats, which would be nice to see them replace the old, uncomfortable seats with them. My seating area was clean for the most part.

Wyatt M.

Yelp
I love this theater the concessions are cheap and doesn't have a crazy amount people always there and stays clean and it's run by college kids that do the job well I'd pick it over an overpriced AMC any day

Yelp
If I could give a 1 star I would. Not the biggest deal but we came 2 hours early to have fun and play games. And half the games we tried were broken or missing parts Then we got into the theatre and I've never seen such a mess. There was garbage on the floors and popcorn everywhere. Even in the cup holders. I will never come back here. I live 2 minutes away and I'd rather drive 45 minutes to a clean theatre. Oh and we actually got up and walked out of the movie because the place was so dirty.

Chris D.

Yelp
Great theater! So happy you are in Boulder! Wonderful movies, snacks, and very clean! Thank you!

Yelp
Absolutely horrible. Drive 20 minutes to see Star Wars here because it had the best movie time nearby. The movie time was 5:15. We get there 15 minutes early and the theater was gross. Pretty sure they haven't vacuumed the place since the 90s. Anyways, we make it to our seat and the movie theater is crammed. No room to walk by, screen was small, seats uncomfortable, popcorn everywhere, and audio was horrible. To make matters worse, it's 5:45 in the theater and our movie hasn't even started. It was a 5:15 movie! Infuriated because we drove there for an earlier movie time and disgusted by the dirtiness we got our things and left. Never watched the movie. Will not be returning to this theater ever again.

Sara F.

Yelp
I love this theater, and I love to see movies in the theater as they were made to be seen! Century offers a wide selection of films, including the main stream, indie and international varieties. The location is accessible from the street, parking is easy, and the arcade in the front is a plus. I was so sad when this theater was closed during the pandemic, and was thrilled when it reopened. Let's keep it that way.

Walter G.

Yelp
Our family went to see a movie the other day; the experience was dreadful! First, I had to return the car to leave my backpack, which I had an appointment book for me to make notes in before the movie - no real explanation for not being allowed to bring a backpack in, and then we had to watch at least twenty loud and obnoxious adds before the movie. I would have left, if not for the rest of the family. In all honesty, they should they should state the actual beginning time of the movie, not when the adds begin. Don't go to this place!
google avatar

Grace W.

Yelp
Could whichever of your employees lives at w. 84th Ave return my Apple Watch please? Thanks!

Yelp
This is a safe and secure theater complete with covered parking when Boulder gets snow,.

Yelp
These seats weren't very comfortable and the popcorn isn't the best. If they could step up the seating with some of the reclinable seats or something, then I feel like I'd come here more. It's frequently not very clean, which they really should address as well. The location is great on 29th, and it's near a lot of food, so it's perfect for a date night. With a few improvements, this movie theatre would be the best in the area.

Yelp
Cinemark is my go to because I am part of the movie club. There is one near my house and I always look for one if I am looking for a theater when we are out in an adventure. This was a clean, well kept theater. The staff were polite. I felt terrible for the concessions check out person because they only have one line to access the popcorn and candy. You then progress to a check out where there was only one person taking care of everyone. This wasn't efficient as far as people getting to the movies timely. I liked their snack selection and their popcorn was buttery, cruncherific, deliciousness. The sound and picture quality were great. It was a bit chilly and unlike the other Cinemark theaters, they didn't have any reclining seats. Great movie experience overall!

Yelp
Ok so I haven't been out to a movie in probably 5 years. Saw Zombieland with my daughter - awesome. Loved the beer on tap even though it was pricey. What I hated was that we showed up at 2:15 pm for a 2:15 film. We sat through 30 minutes of junk! Probably 12 ads and lots of previews. Previews aren't bad, but I don't know about you when I pay to see a film I shouldn't have to sit through mindless ads for corporate America as well. One ad for Coke and popcorn - sure. An ad to turn off your phone - fine, but ad after ad of crap that no sane person needs are painful. Probably be another 5 years before I go back.

Yelp
Movie theaters have come such a long way. There are definitely more options for food in this movie theater than the majority of theaters. Anything more would be considered a luxury theater. The alcohol options are nice, and there's a decent setup going on for picking out your candies and snacks before heading to your movie. The prices are stupidly high, not a shock to anyone, and the shelves aren't always totally supplied as far as snacks go. Also, they don't always match up their movie times online with their actual showings, which was an issue for me on the night of a movie premiere where everything else was canceled to accommodate the volume of people.

Alexander R B.

Yelp
Wait, wait, hold on, your telling me a movie theatre has popcorn on the floor and people spill soda? Im shocked ! And wait, the staff are high schoolers that don't really care about how they perform in a exploitive capitalist environment, never! It's a movie theatre, what do you expect? Caviar and champagne? Great location, easy parking, and very close to the best yoga studio in boulder, TWILIGHT YOGA. How could it get any better???
google avatar

Anthony A.

Yelp
This theater doesn't have recliner seats like other Cinemark theaters but most importantly it was disgusting. The theater up in Longmont is much nicer and has recliners if you live in that area.

Yelp
I have seen dozens of movies at this theater since it opened. It was such a relief to have a newly build modern multiplex in Boulder after decades of substandard movie house options. We spent several years trekking to Flatiron Crossing when it was new. Boulder was so slow to update. However, we don't go as often these days as the movie viewing options have changed so much. No longer do we have to wait 6 months to a year to get a DVD of a current movie. They move so fast to online options and with new large HD TV's at home, the experience is pretty good. Comcast On Demand, Apple TV and others can get you a movie just a couple of months after it leaves the theaters in what is now pretty quick turnaround time. That all being said about changes in the industry, this is still our best go-to option for a movie house experience. It is clean, well organized inside, decent seating and easy parking. Sometimes, I want to see something right away, or just go out for a movie and dinner, especially if we've been home a lot with bad weather. But it is not nearly so regular an option as it used to be. So many others do the same that we generally don't have trouble walking in to get tickets, when we used to need to pick them up in advance because of the crowds. This weekend we saw a newish release that will be available in home by July, but we wanted a night out after days of snow, rain, fog, yucky weather. The theater was about 2/3 full, perfect to enjoy the camaraderie, but not pressed tight with people coughing in your face. Just about right. Picture, sound and seating all in flawless condition. I think they overdo the screen ads, especially the cell phone warnings. It seemed a bit dated since there are so many silent mode options on smart phones these days. I was not aware of a single violation in the house which was common a decade ago. Maybe for a different movie with a different age group it is still relevant, but with this middle aged audience, not an issue. I'll continue to see a few movies a year at this theater and probably not need to go any further from home to enjoy one.

Yelp
Since arriving in the area last year, I have been to the theater about once a month. If you sign up for the movie club thing, the prices aren't bad, and even if you don't, the $5 Tuesdays are great. They do a really good job with the fan event premiere nights (I went to the Infinity War one in 3D, free popcorn and other stuff). Theaters, bathrooms, and concessions area are always clean. The employees are good, personable and efficient, have yet to experience one who is rude. They have so many screens, there is always a convenient showing for even the less popular films like the cinearts stuff, and are able to offer foreign and live event showings (opera, theater, and ballet). The only thing keeping this place from being 5 star is the other patrons. This is not always a problem, but when it is, it is far worse than I have dealt with in any other place around the country. When Boulder sends its people to the movie theater, they're not sending their best. They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with them. They're bringing smartphones with screens on the brightest setting and ring tones set to the loudest volume possible. They're talking during the movie. They're behaving like they are the only people in the theater. And some, I assume, are good people.

Chris A.

Yelp
I feel ridiculous reviewing a Cinemark -- almost on par with reviewing a Wendy's. There shouldn't be a need to do so, but the 1-star ratings are in stark contrast to my usual experience here. We live in south Boulder, so our choice for go-to neighborhood movie theater is limited to this sole Cinemark. Still, we have zero horror stories and willingly see movies here regularly. The location is convenient to other places we frequent and parking in the garage is usually easy. The staff members are friendly. One or two people were definitely *not*, but we haven't seen them in over a year. It's a regular movie theater with comfortable seating, decent concessions (and a stone's throw away from a ton of other food options), and a good movie selection. It's not comparable to the Bagdad in PDX or Cinetopia or Living Room, but it IS a good "normal" theater for a classic movie experience. I have been to very, very bad "normal" theaters. This is not one.
google avatar

Greg G.

Yelp
We went to a movie New Year's Eve and this was the first time I had been to this theatre in six or eight months and I was shocked at how disgusting the facility was. There was tramped popcorn on the carpets, it looked like nobody had vacuumed or swept in days or weeks, the medium soda was about 12 oz and the only large option was the $8.00 special cup that looked at best like 16 oz or less. The soda area smelled like a urinal and all in all it was a wholly unexpected and shocking experience for a modern theatre in Boulder. I sure hope someone starts to clean up the theatre or acts like they care for the cost of tickets and snacks it's deplorable.

Yelp
My friend and I had a very disappointing experience at the Century theater in Boulder. I have been going there for years and was turned away for having a backpack that I have brought in there MANY times. I ride a motorcycle so couldn't walk it back out to a car, it holds my personal belongings and extra layers. They wouldn't hold my bag at the counter and the boys enforcing the ridiculous rule could barely even make eye contact or offer a helpful alternative. This theater has gone from pretty good to pretty effin terrible. Thanks for turning a fun time with a friend into an awkward and annoying experience. Will definitely be going to different theaters from now on.

Yelp
Awesome theatre and wonderful premier of the 40th anniversary of Saturday Night Fever with perks on free tickets!! Ain't nothing better than Mr. McDonald helping us out when your tickets didn't go through with the bar code and put the passes through for us to watch it. The theatre is huuuuge-- lots of available parking and the parking garage is possible to find some decent spots. Alec was also incredibly nice at the counter and made us feel welcomed. At the ticket station, Trevor got our tickets and also directed us to the perfect location and we saw our empty the room was. It was heavenly. Only three other viewers. Ended up kicking back, removing my shoes and charging my phone on the outlet that was by the door. There was lots of wonderful seating and the movie was fantastic and definitely a throwback show for sure. This is officially a favorite theatre of mine.

Yelp
The cleaning in this complex is terrible. The hallways and aisles are sprinkled with popcorn. The cupholders in the seats are disgusting !!!! The health department should shut them down because of these "petri dishes" ! We have complained several times to deaf ears. Bill Plante

Yelp
This is a very conveniently located movie theater right in the center of Boulder. Tickets are average for movie theaters, but every Tuesday they are only $5.50! The food is decent and they have a bucket and cup you can buy which then gives you cheap refills though out the entire year. They also just redid the seats, so they are now nice and comfy. :)
google avatar

Matthew C.

Yelp
The volume is too low every single time I go there. I am a young person and I can hear just fine. Please, please, please raise the volume. I can hear the person next to breathe.

Yelp
To the Manager who helped me with my popcorn this evening. Thank you for the special customer service you provided by replacing my overly salted popcorn with a fresh batch and then delivering it to me at my seat in 'The space of Water'. Your attention was very appreciated!
google avatar

Niña M.

Yelp
I just had the worst experience at the Century Theater in Boulder. The manager kicked me out of the theater because I had my backpack. According to their policy, no backpacks are allowed inside the theater, although I have been visiting the same theater frequently for over a year, always wearing my backpack, and that was never an issue before today. I asked the manager whether they offer any alternative to customers who wear backpacks - like a place where they can store their personal belongings. To my question the manager answered that they don't offer any storage place. In my opinion, every responsible institution would offer such an alternative, but century theater is obviously no such institution. Their policy therefore borders stupidity to an extreme level and it is offensive to customers. They wasted my time and increased the level of stress that they can't possibly 'refund' me for!! Horrible experience that defies human intellect!!!
google avatar

Megan E.

Yelp
Closed captions! I love being able to actually UNDERSTAND my movies. The seats are small and not super comfortable. The food options are numerous. The bathrooms are usable. Parking is available widely - both covered and uncovered and free. There are food places and shopping places near - plus a yogurt shop with a yelp check in deal. Really though, it is all about the words for me - a private little screen I can stick in my cup holder and for that, it's 4*.

Chase T.

Yelp
I can't find anything particularly wrong with this theater. It's in a pretty nice area, so there's plenty to do before and after a movie. The seats are really comfortable; the refreshments/food area is pretty simple. Furthermore, if you go to the movies on Tuesdays, you can get a ticket for around $5.60. This has single-handedly made me want to go to the movies on a weekly or biweekly basis for the first time since I was a little lad. Of course, I don't have a bacterium test kit, and I have not stared into the souls of the employees here, or been jilted when I was trying to park, or anything else. I suppose I just go to the movies to watch movies!

Reiko M.

Yelp
This theatre is trash. They have a new policy that doesn't allow you to bring in bags larger than a small purse, so if you are coming from work, or anywhere else, you will be turned away. They also act as if this has always been the policy. When my friend and I both said that we had brought the exact same bags in before, the staff said "I don't know how that would have been possible," as if we were lying. They were weak, trembling children who couldn't even look us in the eye. It's so stupid for them to turn away paying customers for this. I hope Netflix and all the other streaming services put them out of business. This isn't an airport. It's not like there aren't other options and you are not a TSA agent. While we're at it, assigned seating is the worst. It removes all impulsivity from something that should be fun. You can't even invite friends to come with you if they weren't in on the original plan. One person has to buy all the tickets, hope their seat choices don't piss anyone off in their group, and then doubly hope that everyone pays them back, which they usually don't. Also, this place is a cess pool. The seats are probably filled with lice and the soda machines with mold. I'm never going here ever again.

Brenna S.

Yelp
After buying a ticket I was stopped by an employee and told I could not bring in my oversized bag. Which was my purse. My only purse. Nothing larger than 12x 12 allowed. So leave your diaper bags and kids at home!

Erica C.

Yelp
I am so disappointed in the Century Boulder Theater implementing policies that are blatantly unfair to bike commuters, students and working people. I bike to work every day and need to bring my laptop in my backpack. When I met up with some friends after work to see a film, I was told that my backpack was too large to be admitted. I explained that I bike from work and need to bring my backpack on my way home, rather than biking over an hour out of my way to drop my bag off and come back. While they did not suggest that I chain my backpack containing my laptop outside in the snow next to my bike, they were unable to offer a suitable solution, and I was turned away from the theater point-blank. What's more, the manager was unable to tell me a specific liter limit (a backpack measurement standard), and informed me that all packs must be 12x12x6, which is impossible to fit a standard 13" or 15" laptop in. Please reconsider your policy and learn how to support your community of bike commuters, students, and working people.
google avatar

Toni O.

Yelp
For the only theater in one of the most expensive towns in the United States, this place is disgraceful. Dirty bathrooms, dirty cup holders (gross sticky bottoms), trash on the floor, and my seat was torn. The teenagers that were working either stood around the main counter doing nothing but talking, or when getting your soda they acted like it was a hassle. Almost seemed medicated. Will stick to Longmont theater or head to Denver. Truly gross especially when your spending $24 on 2 tickets and $12 on a soft drink and popcorn. At least clean the place.
google avatar

Simone S.

Yelp
The manager is rude and I wouldn't go here again. Dirty as well. This is in the mall, but you better not bring any packages in or you will be turned away. Poor customer service.
google avatar

Christian B.

Yelp
I went here for a special advance screening and found that the staff was friendly and the general location was clean and in good order, including the restroom. The seats looked at though they were new, since they were roomy and comfortable. Its also nice to have free parking in the parking structure only a few short steps away from the entrance. They also offer a movie watchers club that emails you with free concessions, discounted movie tickets and more.

Steven S.

Yelp
Not that dirty anymore. People don't wear their masks either, especially when eating, so if that makes you uncomfortable, then I'd find somewhere else to go

Tyler B.

Yelp
I want to preface this review by saying that I am not upset with the policies Century has implemented regarding backpacks, but rather how they were enforced at the Boulder location. My partner and we're visiting from out of town and decided to see a movie. We buy our tickets and enter the lobby area while waiting for our movie. We were then approached and informed that we would not be allowed into the theater because of the backpack. Instead of offering a solution, the manager told us we would need to leave and there would be no alternative for us to see the movie. The issue we have is that the customer service here was not accommodating and very impersonal. In addition, management should consider moving the signage on their bag policy to be visible prior to purchasing tickets and training their employees to be as informative as possible. We did get a refund for the tickets but it was a large waste of time and money that left a bad taste in our mouth. Century Theaters: please equip your staff and management with better training to avoid this kind of interaction in the future.
google avatar

Michael G.

Yelp
If you want to see a movie you could do a lot worse than the Century Boulder Theater. My fiancé and I ended up there by chance one day and saw "The Green Book". Our theatre was clean and the seats were comfy, and our tickets were only $5 a piece because of some special they had going on. I can definitely think of a worse way to spend $5, and I would go back if I'm up in Boulder again.

Nick M.

Yelp
Make the seats recline at the very least a foot rest isn't necessary but I shouldnt have to watch my movie at a 90 degree angle, everything else was fine though

Yelp
It's really a disgusting venue that feels dirty to sit at. The food is stale and overpriced, the service is slow, and the management is inept. They recently rolled out a no-bag policy, so if you have a purse, briefcase, or a backpack, there's nothing you can do to keep your stuff safe. The security in the parking garage is incredibly lax, so be mindful of your stuff. Your best bet is to go to another theatre. I'd recommend the Boedecker, which is down the street and they're INDEPENDENT. Those guys also show fantastic films on a screen that is enviable by other theatres.

Yelp
Wasn't allowed into the theater because I had a backpack. They weren't even willing to check the inside contents of the backpack and then let me in. What a waste of a Lyft ride to the theater.

Yelp
What kind of Movie theater runs out of POPCORN on a rainy Saturday? This one. What kind of movie theater has no ice in the soda machines, ever (or at least the last 3 times I've been there)? This one. What kind of movie theater hires the rudest, whiniest teenagers ever that hate their jobs and possibly the whole world? This one. What kind of movie theater is SO CROWDED that you have to get there 30-40 minutes early just to sit with your friends? Yup, you're getting the pattern here. Here's a secret tip: Drive 10 minutes to the Louisville theater. Nobody goes there, and they actually have popcorn and ice for the sodas.

Yelp
While the seats in this theater aren't as nice as some of it's competitors (I'm looking at you reclining chairs at AMC Flatiron Crossing...) I'm still a fan of this place. You can order tickets, and pick your seats, online. I'm a HUGE fan of this mode of ticket-purchase because I can show up right before the movie starts and rest assured that I will have good seats. I also like that I have mobile tickets so all I need to bring with me is my phone. I seriously LOVE that Century Boulder offers $5.50 tickets on Tuesdays for their 'discount day'. Movie ticket prices are RIDICULOUS and there are many movies I'm not willing to pay $15 for to see in theaters. I love coming here to have the true movie theater experience even with shows I wasn't willing to shell out the cash for otherwise. It's not the best theater around, but they have made some improvements recently. The online ordering and the discount day keep me coming back for more. :)
