Jordan Kahn’s Two-Michelin-Starred Restaurant Vespertine Will Reopen Soon | Eater LA

"The former ArcLight Theatres in El Segundo is being transformed into CinemaWest: Beach Cities, scheduled to open in summer 2024 with 16 upscale movie theaters featuring laser projection and Dolby Atmos sound and an upscale lounge environment intended to counter the big-box, cookie-cutter feel of other chains." - Matthew Kang

The Baseline: For a movie theater the seats must be comfortable/clean, the condition of the theater must be up-kept/maitained, the concessions must have good movie offerings, and the extra-film-types (3D,4D, IMAX,etc.) must work when available. Theater: CinemaWest Beach Cities is a relatively new theater that has reopened the old Arclight theater that closed pre-pandemic. CinemaWest has done a great job revamping the space. The lobby is clean and open, the seats are comfortable recliners, and the screen projector quality is clear, and the sound is really crisp. Bathrooms were clean. Food: The concessions are still great with a good selection of snacks, popcorn, and sodas along with the incorporation of Pink’s Hotdogs for hotdog and burger offerings. Service: The staff at the theater were friendly and efficient.

It was an interesting experience. Watch F1 movie in 4 DX. For this movie all the movement worked as it made me feel as if you are driving the car with the wind blowing through your hair. The movie theater was clean and not full at all. The lobby is spacious and plenty of seating. Pinks is located inside the theater with seating inside and outside. Paid about $25 for the 4DX experience.

Brilliant and clean theater. It's has a wonderfully simple entrance with he Pinks hotdogs and bar to the left and concessions to the right. Pros: Clean, New and bed worthy chairs, wide table for food and drinks. No one's heads get in the way of the screen. Screens are so crisp. I want to just live in one of those theaters and play games and watch movies all day. Another great and cool thing is the staff. They were so helpful. Inlike some other theaters in LA, the staff here gave us the fullest attention. The bartender Anthony was perfect! The best bartender and staff these people have. Someone give that man a raise! Cons: food prices are rough especially for a hotdogs. Not much theater vibe to the place. Unlike Cinemark and other theaters, they food isn't brought into the theater and can't order from the seat. If you order it's a long walk to your theater if you're all the way downtown the hall. Nibor issues and I have to say it's a VERY NICE theater with great management it seems with good staff.

Entering the theater, it was clean and had nice displays. We ordered 2 pretzels. We were told to wait while the pretzels were heated. After a period of time the cashier indicated the oven wasn't working properly. The lead person came over and offered any like value item from the concession stand. The theater isn't old enough to have their equipment malfunction. The movie was enjoyable and the seating was clean and comfortable. If the theater wants to be a 5 star theater then keep your equipment functioning.

This theater is such a treat the best Dolby theater so far that was have ever been. We dont mind the long drive to watch movies here. It’s very clean and the recliners seat are just perfect. Plus they have Pink Hotdogs.

Excellent Movie Experience!! Popcorn was massive and fresh, and the prices were actually good! Seats were large, extremely comfortable, and spread out nicely. Sound and visuals were top of the charts. We saw a 4x movie and LOVED it!! Highly recommend! Clean bathrooms and facilities overall. Can't personally speak for Pinks because we didnt buy, but those around who did had clean plates so that says something! Happy to come back!

Nice to have a decent theater again in the Beach Cities. Nicely remodeled. Concession stand was adequately staffed, very polite employees. Theater itself was clean and beautiful. Super nice seats (yes they recline). X screen was a new one, amazing technology. Overall a great movie going experience. Will be back.
