Google
Friendly staff and great wine! Nyrie made a wonderful recommendation for the growlers to be used as a bridal shower gift. It was a nice way to spend an afternoon over wine and cheese!

Marvin Calara

Google
Great Ambiance. Good tasting wine. Nice place to hangout with family and friends to pass time. Not hard to find since this place is along the road.

Megan Carroll Allende

Google
We were able to park right outside cinnabar in our handicap van. The ramp up to the tasting room was easy and we loved the lower, ADA accessible tasting counter. The wines were great!

Danielle Warren

Google
Popped in before our dinner reservation and was served by Michelle! She was absolutely wonderful and made for a great start to our girls night!

Carley Perlman

Google
It was an okay experience. Sitting outside was beautiful, wine was good, maybe just an off day but the service was odd. We felt like we were a bother being there (we were the only ones there and for about 20-30 min). I wouldn’t go back with there being other options in the area. Check out House Family Vineyard, a great experience there and 10 min away.

Google
This is a great place to meet, chat with old friends. Located in Beautiful Saratoga Ca along highway 9. It is a stones throw from Silicon Valley but a long distance from crowds and traffic ;-)

Google
Good winery in saratoga. Had a bottle to take away and a wine tasting menu with charcuterie in this place

Chris Bartlow

Google
Extremely approachable wines and one of the friendliest staff we’ve visited. Sat out on the patio and ironically met some people from back home here, what a great example experience!

Domenica R.

Yelp
So comfortable place to come And spend some time without worrying about Anything. Place is so nice and clean. Customer service was super. I do recommend this place and u will be back.

Yelp
I'd been wanting to check out Cinnabar for while, and finally got around to it on Sunday. We arrived right when they opened at 1PM, and were the first patrons through the door. The staff member was initially unfriendly about my service animal, but we grabbed a high-top table inside, since it was raining. The interior was spacious, with wooden furniture, a nice bar, a lots of decorative signage. Most of us opted for the $20 wine tasting, which included 5 different wines. All of them were very impressive! After our tasting, we ended up getting a bottle of the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon, Mis Tres Hijos Vineyard, which was my favorite of the bunch. Cinnabar also had a large selection of cheeses and charcuterie, so we put together our own little cheese board. We chose the Manchego, Marin Brie, and Fig & Honey Goat Cheese, with the Rosemary & Olive Oil Flatbread crackers. All the cheeses were delicious, but I loved the Fig & Honey Goat Cheese the most. Our server gradually became more friendly towards us, and even ended up bringing over some dog treats at the end. Would probably return!

Yelp
Located right next to my hotel, this place was an immediate hit with a beautiful patio and a $20 tasting that allowed me to taste some northern California's best wines, since I wasn't able to go out to any wineries. Charcuterie is available to snack on. Loved it all around.

Karen A.

Yelp
I enjoy Cinnabar. It's on Big Basin Way, so it is very urban (by Saratoga standards). There's a lovely deck with a large tree to provide shade. And there is great people watching as folks walk by and often beautiful cars drive by on the busy street. Cinnabar is maybe not a place to take a first date. It's not particularly quiet or romantic. But it is a great place to gather with friends and take in the action on the weekends or late afternoons in Saratoga. And the service is always good. I love Cinnabar's Mercury Rising. And I recommend getting a growler and going back regularly for refills.

Katherine T.

Yelp
Very chill place with good atmosphere and decent pricing for a tasting! They have a nice outdoor seating area that's perfect for a summer day. They also have indoor area which was nice too

John H.

Yelp
Wow, chose this wine tasting room at random as a before dinner drink before going to Hashiri Bettei Kaiseki Aoki. The bartender was very knowledgeable about his products and the history of the winery. All the wines were great, but the Mercury Rising was the best. Great deals on six bottles or more, including the magnums.

Melissa P.

Yelp
Lovely spot for an affordable wine tasting menu! Two whites and three reds for $20, we came on a Sunday around 1:30 without a reservation and was able to get seated immediately. Nice outdoor seating options, limited seating on the inside. They only give a little splash of each wine for the tasting, but splitting a bottle after the tasting was still very reasonably priced. Service was efficient and attentive, and our server was so kind! Nice and cozy ambiance, people were dressed pretty casually.

Donovan T.

Yelp
Honestly, nothing is better then hanging out and relaxing on their deck and patio with a bottle(s) of their Mercury Rising! I am a member of their Wine Club so we stop by about once a month. Pick up is once a quarter and there many perks (free tastings, events, discounts, etc.). I drink mainly reds so I have the "Mercury Membership". As mentioned, the Mercury Rising is my all time favorite here but I also enjoy the pinot and syrah. If you elect to do a tasting, just come right in. It's $20 tasting fee with usually 5 types. They also sell wine by the glass, bottle, and growler! They don't sell appetizers or have a food menu but do offer some meat, cheese, cracker plates. Very kid and dog friendly too (outside).I always look forward to hanging out at Cinnabar!

Geek D.

Yelp
This is located in the heart of Sarotoga with parking all around. We were lucky they had a live band playing that day outside but the place also had great seating inside which allowed some of us to pick a table and enjoy conversations with the tasting and music in the background. They did have multiple flights to chose from with great service - the staff was knowledgeable. one could also select a drink by the glass. Food/snacks were limited though they did have a few things available- good place to visit after having lunch in the area

Ámbar B.

Yelp
What can I say that probably hasn't been said yet? Cinnabar is a hidden gem right in the heart of Saratoga. You cannot go wrong with their tasting menu and their sommelier is kind and knowledgeable. They made us feel right at home and explained the tasting notes and what would pair well with the wine. I've made it a point to mention this place to all my friends, I will be coming back for a bottle or two! I cannot wait to have the opportunity to come back in the near future and enjoy some time in their patio (weather permitting). It's cozy and welcoming, but overall a great place to spend an afternoon with friends!

Nina A.

Yelp
Great 2-3 persons for a wine tasting. We were able to walk in without a reservation. There is indoor & outdoor seating. Decor & setup is adorable & tasteful for the season. Tastings are $20 per person & you get to try 5 wines (2 whites, 3 reds). Very good wines. Service was nice & friendly, I would recommend & I would come back. There was never any rush to hurry or an upsell. Next time we'll spend a little more time.

Laleh J.

Yelp
Super cute Saratoga winery! Great local wines for $20 tasting sessions, with indoor and outdoor places to sit. Highly recommended!

Samantha J.

Yelp
A great stop while in Saratoga! Updated tasting price is $20. Cliff served us and was very kind and knowledgeable. I appreciate the insight he gave us into the wines! Our favorites were the Sorcerer's Stone, their Zinfandel, and the Mercury Rising, their red blend, which we took home. Hope to stop by again and pick up a few more bottles.

Felicia F.

Yelp
Such a great tasting room! Cliff made our day as our wine guide and cannot say enough about how much we would recommend this wine tasting experience based on how we were treated. My daughter even knocked over a glass of water and they were so gracious about it. Very family friendly and welcoming to all. Again, cannot thank Cliff enough! He truly makes the visit

Cristina M.

Yelp
WOW, I can't remember the last time I felt the way this place made me feel. I arrived around 4PM, was walking around the Saratoga area, and I thought maybe I should stop by this place and do some wine tasting. When I arrived, it was NOT BUSY. I didn't know if I needed to walk all the way inside to order or sit outside and wait, so I went inside and asked workers at the bar area. They said "you're welcome to sit anywhere outside, someone will come over to you and take your order". At this point they handed me a menu and I said "thank you" and pointed to where I would be sitting. I sat down saw the menu and waited about 15 minutes. Nobody walked over to me... I know it was pretty obvious where I was sitting, since I had my puppy with me, outside. 20 minutes passed by and a couple sat at a table across from mine, as soon as they arrived the waiter went to their table, had them pay for their "member wine" they had purchased and then I heard him say "I'll take your order right away" I was so upset at this point, I got up and left. Im not the type to make a scene. DO BETTER Cinnabar. Not coming back, thank you for the service I'm never going to forget.

Lori B.

Yelp
3 of us tasted, it was $75 ( with 10% tip) the tastes were the smallest I've ever experienced. The wines are very good.

M Z.

Yelp
Lydia is the best!! She usually works on Saturday. She knows we go to the tasting room to enjoy wines and have fun.

Amy L.

Yelp
I made a reservation this past weekend for a friend's birthday out on the patio. Make sure to call and reserve since it gets relatively busy on Saturdays and Sundays! At the moment, Cinnabar doesn't offer any tastings due to COVID, but sell by the glass and bottle. That was fine with us as we just wanted a spot to hang and drink together. We ended up ordering a bottle of their chardonnay and a charcuterie to go with it--we thought it was super pricey at first but the portions are really huge. Everything is pretty reasonably priced for the area. Service is good--the attendants don't really bother you unless you flag them down, which is nice and gives a lot of time/room for you to have quality time with whoever you're with at the winery (or by yourself!). The only downside is that a lot of the seating is right next to Big Basin Way, which can get noisy especially when there's a procession of huge loud motorcycles making their rounds lol. But other than that, it was a really relaxing spot and the wine was great! Would come again for a casual outing or hangout outdoors when things get better.

Yelp
Friday night they are open til 7. Yes seven pm. Stop in before or after dinner or on way home for a glass of the light and delicious rose. Or one of the amazing red wines. I like that they allow dogs on the patio. The tasting room has air conditioning and the patio has a huge oak tree in the middle of the deck to keep you cool. It's so close I go every week or two. The staff are always nice. Lisa and Mikee and Cliff know thier wines. They try to spend time with their guests to do little education snippets. Not just pour your wine and walk away. I like learning wine trivia and I learn something new almost every time. Parking can be a bear but there are some spots off side streets and I always get a spot even if I have to walk a couple of blocks. They also have cheese and meats and chocolates for purchase. Check out the greeting cards and magnets.

Susan R.

Yelp
On 8/2/23, the Sales Associate, Lisa Marshik greeted us and walked over to our table and set down an open menu. She said wine tasting is $20 and by the glass is $10. I asked what they have by the glass and she gave around six options. I said I'll have a glass of the Chardonnay which was an option she had offered. She brings me a very very small pour of Chardonnay. Next, she brings the check and it says $17.46. I asked why it was $17.46 after she told me the wine was $10 by the glass. She said, not for the wine that you ordered. What??? I said that I would not have ordered the Chardonnay had that been explained. She then proceeded to just shrug and walk away. What terrible service. I won't be going back and feel like I got scammed.

Denyel R.

Yelp
While I'm not a wine person this tasting was 5 stars hands down the worker will was very nice and sociable the tasting size was good the price was only $20 per person I'd recommend going

Marie J.

Yelp
Very unfriendly/rude staff. Terrible service, extremely slow and very inpatient! Definitely not worth the price. One star for the location.

Michael S.

Yelp
One of the best places I've been too in the Silicon Valley since coming here here on assignment. Great staff , let me say that twice GREAT staff , made the experience fun and had good knowledge of the wines. Taste testing is reasonable and by the bottle was great Thank you for perfect experience ! Will be back for sure

Glen N.

Yelp
WTF! There's no cinnamon rolls here!! Now I NEED a drink... Great, aside from the door with the "pull" handle that you have to push... Anyway, we did a wine tasting from a bunch of friendly workers with name tags. The wines were good (watery mouth feel, puckery) to great. Cool area (Downtown Saratoga) and nice patio. What gets them five stars is the fact that you can buy a growler (2.5 bottles) of their very drinkable Mercury Rising wine for $40, and get refills for $30. And if you buy one, you get your wine tasting waived. As in, waived goodbye.

Katie R.

Yelp
I love coming to cinnabar! It's in a convenient location that is easy to get to and find nearby parking, and it has a very quaint outdoor seating area. The wines here are fantastic and reasonably priced. They even offer refillable growlers. It is a fun place to come for a tasting or to enjoy a bottle with some friends. The only reason it isn't 5 stars for me is that the service can be hit or miss. Some people who work there are extremely friendly and attentive, whiuc is usually the case, but once in a while you'll get someone who couldn't really care less that you are there. Even with that though, it is one of my favorite wineries in the area.

Melissa L.

Yelp
Great wine and really dog friendly! Just not inside the tasting room per health code but patio is quite large and they have water bowls outside and do have dog snacks in a bag for free (milk bone). Great relaxing ambiance in Saratoga. Great for a relaxing afternoon

Moe S.

Yelp
Not sure what has happened to this place. All past staff are all gone and new people are not sure what's going on. Was in a few weeks ago and a girl ( think the name was Leah) was the most unfriendly and the other guy with her could't help me let alone tell me basic wine info. The inside room was stuffy & warm-not very pleasant to have wine. Being a member and know how the wines were a few years ago, it's not fun anymore and will be looking for a new winery to join, after I quit this place. I heard that a new place had opened in Gilroy, which is most likely why little attention is being given to this place. Please bring back the old staff and winemaker (sometime change isn't good)

Sonia A.

Yelp
Amazing service and the wines were great. Very accommodating to our party. Definitely will come back.

Amy A.

Yelp
Delicious wines and very friendly staff. I recommend the Mourvèdre and Mercury Rising.

Rachel M.

Yelp
We went in for a wine tasting today. The waitress could not spare more than 2 sentences to describe the wine we were tasting. The only full sentence was at the end when they asked if we would like to purchase more bottles. The wine itself was okay but it would have been a much better experience to just sit on the patio outside.

Jodi H.

Yelp
Beautiful space with classy service and an air-conditioned tasting room on a lazy Monday afternoon! I love how spacious this space is for such a small space...the layout and the beautiful portraits of vineyard landscapes really make this area bright and beautiful. Their wood floors are classy and I love that they also had two of their wines on tap and not by the bottle. That was quite an interesting observation. Throughout the tasting, we all agreed that the 2014 Chardonnay was the best wine out of all choices. At the end, we purchased a bottle of their crisp Chardonnay and split it among six of us. There were 5 tastings that day (June 2016) and I wasn't too fond of their petite syrah and verdot (more of mixing wines to me, rather than stand-alone ones), but I loved their 2013 Carignan which was a biiiiit spicy at the finish! YUM YUM. However, the Mercury Rising was just alright for me. Our winetender was very gracious and polite with her small talk! Because the tasting room is a bit echo-y I felt so strange hearing our group of six being the loudest people in the space. They have bar seating and standing space, as well as two-top tables for those who would rather enjoy a glass. I couldn't find wifi, but they do have an indoor restroom. Lovely quaint space--would totally come back.

Jason M.

Yelp
$15 Drop-O-Wine Tasting They usually do pretty nice wines but the tasting presentation sucks. They are super skimpy on pouring a taste. I have to ask for a 2nd just to clear the residue from the last drop, lol. 2 People spending $30 to taste should be able to taste it or they can't expect to sell much wine right? I think they really need to work on the whole experience. Its Great if you know what you want and have a glass on the deck. Nice location. Good luck, and don't accept the tiny drops they try to pour, don't be afraid to ask for more to taste it right!

Marilou D.

Yelp
Love this place. Great people. Michelle is wonderful , very nice l, knowledgeable and very friendly. We will definitely label back!

Amanda B.

Yelp
The poorest wine tasting experience I've ever had. Despite the tasting room not being busy at all, we were not given ANY information about the wines. One of thEe wines on the list did not tell the wine style in the name, and when the lady poured it, she didn't even bother to tell me what the blend was. The 2 women working there stood about and chatted and made no effort to talk about the wines we were tasting, and seemed unknowledgeable or didn't care. The glasses they use for tasting are small, thick walled glasses and felt really cheap, not the nice glasses with their logo on it. The counter had no chairs, and the tables in the room had no chairs to sit at. Makes for a tasting that feels rushed and boring. The overall experience was poor, and would not go back.

Tari B.

Yelp
Here on a beautiful Sunday. The wine was delicious. Unfortunately the service was lacking. I ordered a charcuterie tray and it came in a sealed Safeway container. The least they could've done is open it up and put it on a plate. I asked for the Wi-Fi password and they told me that they couldn't remember what it was. Again the wine was decent, but the rest was very lacking

Monica J.

Yelp
Came here yesterday for a glass of wine. It's in a great location in the downtown. Wine glasses range from $13-16 and if you're getting more than two glasses, just opt for a bottle cuz the priciest bottle was about $42. I thought the wine was pretty good and the pours were really large, which was nice. There were two loud groups on the patio which really made it hard to enjoy. The louder group was just getting drinker by the second and talked Soo loud. I think if they were quieter, we would have enjoyed the place more. I may come come again but I'm more partial to Paso, Sonoma, and Napa wines so I would prolly pick a diff spot if I come to Saratoga again.

Janet D.

Yelp
What an awesome place! This sits in the restaurant row in Saratoga a few steps away from my current discovery The Basin. As with most establishment here look for a house with a sign that says Wine Tasting. On Fridays you will find the outside patio just loaded with happy people and live music. Contagious, fun, happy people. Music does that to people. Add some generous wine pours and it's happy time! Adam and I both tried their Tempranillo. $11/glass. Generous pour and is quite fruity. Perfect for my mood that day. The band Hootenanny was playing awesome songs that was getting some people up on their feet dancing. We plan to catch this band somewhere else! Inside you do the actual wine tasting. We didn't do that but we intend to next time. They do sell some tasty small plates as in cheese and prosciutto. The staff that served us was very likable. He totally adjusted to the varied age bracket that day. Thanks to J&T for introducing us to this vibrant establishment!

JoAnn Y.

Yelp
Charming location in downtown Saratoga which is a pleasant stroll among other restaurants and shops. The tasting room is clean and equally charming. The tasting flight was 2 Chardonnay, the house wine, and two Cabernet. Too peppery in my opinion, lacking in variety, and poorly matched. The staff was overly snooty in my opinion and far too pretentious even if the wine was above board, which it was not. Come for the ambiance, but don't expect smiles or warmth.

Julie S.

Yelp
Lovely wine tasting experience at Cinnabar Tasting Room. It was my first experience here and I really enjoyed myself. The tastings are $15 but free for members, and we got to taste five different wines (two whites and three reds). The very nice server also let me taste the special members only pour. She said they have music on the patios Sunday afternoons starting in spring and also they change the tasting menu every few weeks. They don't serve food but they do sell some salamis and cheeses that you can eat at a table. A very enjoyable experience!

LeeLee C.

Yelp
I'll be honest, I did not expect much from this tasting room when I see the name "Cinnabar." In fact, I was expecting medicore wine in a place with such a funny name. But I was wrong. The wines they offered on the tasting menu are good, and seeing locals hanging out in this place makes me feel comfortable and trusting. The wines on the tasting menu are all good, even the dry rose and I don't even like rose. Their late harvest semillon is delicious. They have set up a children's play area in the corner, which is helpful for parents with children to hang out. They also have patio tasting on Friday. $10 tasting fee.

Toni S.

Yelp
Giving it 4 stars only because we love their wines. We had been members years ago. Happened to be in town and wanted to revisit, it was on a Thursday. The place was pretty empty, yet the service was nonexistent. We were outside and had to go inside to remind him we were there. When asked about the wine he knew very little, didn't even know where the area was that the wine was from. Tried to draw out conversation, but no luck. Very disappointed. Wine can sell itself, but customer service is always a bonus.

Andrea M.

Yelp
$15 tasting. Great tasting wines, and reasonably priced, compared to Testarossa. Patio was nice to sit at with dog, while enjoying the music. Nice woman who poured us gave my dog treats

Neal V.

Yelp
Good wines but overpriced for very small pours. People are really nice and there is great outdoor seating! However, if you want to be outdoors and get a better value I'd recommend Mountain Winery or Savannah Chanelle. You can park right down the street and off to the right. Lots of parking which is really convenient.

T S.

Yelp
Friendly and knowledgeable staff, very attentive and helpful, my wife and I wil certainly return

Breanna E.

Yelp
I have been here a few times and have always had great service. I love the tastings and there is a nice assortment of cheeses, crackers, meats and other to choose from. This last time we were served by Minal who was super friendly and has a lot of knowledge about Cinnabar's wines and wine facts in general! She helped me sign up to be a member which I have been wanting to do for awhile now and it was very easy. Thank you Cinnabar staff and wine makers for the service and wonderful wine! I am looking forward to have my shipments come in each month!

Denise L.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this winery as we were driving down from Savannah Chanelle. It was packed, as they said it was an exclusive member release and there was a jazz concert going on in the park. My friend and I were lingering upon the side of the bar, and had a tasting of their 5 reds. I mentioned to our pourer that we are white wine drinkers, and she gave us a taste of the chardonnay and incantation, which we loved and picked up a bottle that was on discount for $17.50. With the purchase, we got $5 off the $10 tasting as well. Would definitely come back, but on a less packed day as we felt a bit rushed with the many people in here.

Micheal T.

Yelp
So disappointed that they are not doing g tastings here - absolutely no logical reason except that the owners are enjoying making money off all the single glasses sold. All other wineries are doing tastings. Wine is excellent but not happy with no tastings .... I would have spent a lot more money if I could have tasted the wine.

Katie C.

Yelp
In town for Thanksgiving and staying with family nearby, my boyfriend and I decided to pop by the tasting room the day before Thanksgiving, about 39 minutes before closing. We loved a few of the wines, to our surprise, but were even more impressed with our by-chance chat and time with Ron, the owner and vintner. He was down to earth, engaging, and gave us a smokin deal on a few bottles (which we bought having not tried them). We know our wine and what we like. After trying a bottle and being happily floored, we planned to go back and considered getting a few mixed cases of the '18 SLH Pinot, Mourvèdre, and Sangiovese, and looked forward to chatting with Ron again. We went back on Sunday afternoon and were sad to see he was not there, further understanding he only works on rare occasion when short-staffed or someone calls out etc. Given his warm and welcoming personality, we were further and even more thoroughly disappointed by the attitude of both the females working that day, one of whom is the tasting room manager. They were short, dismissive, and rude. Granted, we had hoped they would honor the same deal Ron had previously offered and though we understood why they couldn't, when we asked them to maybe try and contact him (seeing as how we'd spoken with him just two days prior) they seemed insulted and continued with the curt, attitude-laden responses. We were trying to find a solution and not being rude. They both, manager especially, seemed almost as if she was trying NOT to sell wine. Their behavior knocked down our initially very positive impression of the place and instead of trying to find a way to middle ground and a potentially large sale, they offered a dismissive and pretty insulting discount. We still got 6 bottles of the sale wine if the month, but were extremely disappointed and put off by their attitudes and overall behavior. If this review was based solely off the wine and our first experience with Ron and Moises who was there that Friday, it would be 5 stars all day long. Based on our experience with these two women (which from another review, seems normal), I'm generously giving a 2 star. If I walked back in and saw them again, I'd walk back out and go elsewhere. For such great wine, to have these two behind the counter seems like a disaster and a perfect way to NOT sell wine. Love the wine and Ron. Worst tasting room customer service I've ever experienced.

Janet S.

Yelp
A nice flight of wines awaits you at Cinnabar. Our favorite is their red blend, Mercury Rising, a easy-drinking wine reasonably priced at $22. Relaxed atmosphere, great location in downtown Saratoga.
