Visiting Cinnaholic was long overdue for me. I say long overdue because as one that frequently visits the area, I always procrastinated on visiting post finishing errands in the area. I remember it like yesterday when I initially spotted its location outside of Wicker Park Commons which made me feel very giddy-like because of the possibility of a visit.
The day of my visit, I made it a priority to visit as a treat to myself after completing Bank of America Chicago 13.1, a half marathon located on the west-side of Chicago. Options for parking noted are either neighborhood, street, or possibly within Wicker Park Commons. I say possibly because Cinnaholic sits outside of it along Milwaukee Ave rather than inside of it. During this visit, I took my chances of parking in Wicker Park Commons since I figured that I would be in-and-out which ended up not being an issue.
I was greeted as soon as I walked inside and up to the counter to see what was offered. Prior to seeing what was offered, I told the employee that I have been eyeballing this place for a while now, but procrastination has kept me from visiting sooner. I ended up ordering the White Sox Roll because of it being topped with oreo chunks which I absolutely love. Likely, if I were to have chosen something different, it would have been either the Strawberry Shortcake, or the Cookie Monster which caught my eye as I waited for the White Sox Roll to be prepared. It was shared with me by the employee that the Cookie Monster is one of the popular items sold after my mentions of it.
Service: 5 (Great)
Cinnaholic offers no indoor seating, but it is open for takeout, and catering for all types of events. I love that along with choosing from some of the signature cinnamon rolls, the menu features bite-sized baby buns, cookies, brownies and raw, edible cookie dough. They also serve coffee (at most locations) and offer customizable options for your cinnamon roll.
Atmosphere: 4 (Good)
As for my order, I must say that I enjoyed the White Sox Roll! I really adored that the toppings were soft rather than crunchy too! And my oh my was that cinnamon roll sweet! It was so sweet that I had to take breaks in-between taking bites of it.
Food: 4 (Good)
Being that I have finally visited Cinnaholic and had a good experience, I would gladly visit again whenever in the area. In the meantime, I do look forward to possibly seeing Cinnaholic at Vegandale.
