Chicago’s restaurant openings for winter 2020 - Eater Chicago

"Vegan baked goods company Cinnaholic opens a new Chicago-area location today. The brand appeared on ABC’s Shark Tank and already operates a Naperville shop, along with nearly 40 other spots in North America. It features “plant-based” cinnamon rolls, which are available for $1 today only." - Naomi Waxman

I ordered the banana cream pie and my friend had caramel with graham crumbles. Mine was okay but way too sweet for my palette, however, I did enjoy the fresh banana. As for my friend, the caramel tasted weird, absolutely nothing like caramel. The young lady behind the counter was kind enough to remake the caramel, which was still not to my friend's liking, so she let him try a different topping, which was marshmallow. That one he liked so she remade the roll with the new topping and she was kind about the whole situation, which was appreciated. Unfortunately, she also informed us that all the toppings are made with extracts, which explains the taste of the caramel. I would think, as a specialty type of place, that the flavor would be natural and not out of a bottle. However, the roll itself was delicious, if I ever visit this place again, the old school cinnamon roll will be my choice. I know a lot of people like this place and it's not bad, it's just not what I was expecting.

This past July marked my very 1st time trying this place which made it a test run and I must say, was very pleased with the results. Stumbled onto this place on Google maps during the spring when my family and I made our 1st trip of the year to Woodfield Mall. Went with 4 different styles and later got around to trying a little of all, Saxon was my favorite in which I had that one all to myself. Wife had the Crème Brûlée which she enjoyed and I snagged a piece as well. Our kids munched down on the Cookie Monster and the original which they loved. These cinnamon rolls are heavenly, the absolute best tasting I've ever had and better in both quality and flavor over Cinnabon and Cinnamonster. The one cool concept about Cinnaholic is obviously the ability to customize your rolls. I might have to try that the next time I'm in the area. Venue is kept clean, decent customer service, menu especially for the styles and toppings for the cinnamon rolls is extensive with prices that may seem a bit high but for these bad boys it's worth it.

We have loved coming to this business since it first opened. Great tasting food, awesome friendly staff and all vegan items to be enjoyed regardless of your dietary preferences. Now, they have added Dairy-free ice cream!!! Seriously, this is next level. A warm brownie or cinnamon roll topped with ice-cream and other toppings or ice cream cookie sandwiches…can’t get this as your regular ice cream shop. This is our family’s new favorite summertime treat.

They have great cinnamon rolls and a few other pastry items available. They even have "day old" plain cinnamon rolls that they package to go if you're in a rush. Much like an ice cream store, you can customize your cinnamon roll with a variety of different icings and toppings. And then of course there is the vegan angle. They have vegan options and the price point is affordable making it a great place to pick up a last minute treat when you need to. The service here was friendly and efficient.

Got a chance to stop by this super cute shop with gourmet cinnamon rolls! It was my birthday so I got a free old skool roll and was so tempted by the display we got 4 more! We tried the old skool, ube, cookies and cream, pineapple upside down and a coffee flavored one. OMG, not only are they beautiful to look at but they taste amazing. Join their rewards club for a free old skool roll on your birthday and give them a try!

Got a cinnamon roll and cookie dough, both were yummy! The only downside is the calories are so high! And if course I'm not expecting it to be healthy but usually a vegan cinnamon roll is around 100-400 calories but these are higher. But I love, love, love that it's all vegan. Will stop by again when I'm in the area.

The rolls are always excellent. I wanted the vanilla almondmilk but they didn't have any in thier fridge. Very few drinks available. The guy taking out order, making our food really didn't say 2 words. Didn't ask how he could help us or asked what we would like - nothing. It wasn't busy but a couple tables were dirty. We ate outside instead. Love that is vegan. Will always stop when we are by one. Don't have one back home.

I could practically review this before even eating the cinnamon rolls. Customizing your own? Adding frosting and toppings?! Good lord. That being said, my wife and I tried the Cookie Monster (cookie dough) and Campfire S’mores. Both are amazing. 10/10. We don’t live nearby, but we will be back.
