The 22 Best Restaurants In The Hudson Valley - Hudson Valley - The Infatuation

"Cinnamon is your best option in Rhinebeck for dishes like lamb shank rogan josh, tandoori shrimp kebabs, and goat cheese naan that you can get from their buffet option or order a la carte. Their menu highlights dishes from regions throughout India, like South Indian dosas or fish curry from Goan. They’ve got individual tables, but there’s a large one meant for communal meals, so it’s ideal for bigger groups or large parties." - anne cruz, clare lagomarsino, keith hernandez, chanize thorpe

Google
An amazing spot for Indian! I was visiting from Queens and was not expecting this Indian restaurant (in a small historical town) to deliver this much quality. The lamb phaal is excellent. The sauce has a robust flavor and the spice level is hot but not painful. They are very generous with the amount of the meat too, which was tender and juicy. The naan with goat cheese absolutely blew my mind. The cheese was so rich and flavorful. It pairs very nicely with the sauce. The dessert is also outstanding. The gulab jamun is delightful. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was modern and pleasant.

Google
Great Indian food at a surprising location! Everything we had was super flavorful, fresh, authentic-tasting and delicious. the korma was very creamy and tasty, and per our request, not spicy at all, suitable for kids. We had a chickpea saag, which wasn’t on the menu, but our server kindly offered to have it made for us, and it was excellent. The samosas were delicious and fresh. The garlic naan was exceptional. Service was attentive, friendly, and efficient. The space looks upscale, very pleasant and relaxing. Will definitely come back next time we’re in the area!

Google
The place looks great, but the food was hit or miss. The eggplant was very tasty, and the naan too, but the fish goan curry was a bit overcooked and the curry was extremely thin and bland. Same with the staff, they couldn't find our reservation, they brought us someone else's order, were confused about it, gave me a funny look when I asked for a plate (which they had taken away with the wing order)... There was just too much friction with the staff.

Our wonderful waiter Hani and bus staff really did a great job taking care of us. We had wonderful Lamb cubes and Mango salad starters and chicken Biryani and Korma meals. Mango lassi was so smooth and good. Everything was fresh and delicious.

My wife and I wanted to try a different Indian restaurant and decided on Cinnamon. We decided to go with South Indian flavors, and the starter and entrées were terrific. For the starter, we had the Andhra chili chicken and loved it. The flavor was in between Indian and Canton and the vegetables were al dente. Our entrées were the Goan Fish curry and Andhra chicken, both of which were worth ordering again. They were served with rice bowls, which the server claimed were basmati but definitely didn't look basmati to us. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the rice with fried onions and had it with the goan fish curry. We had also ordered a garlic Naan, a tawa paratha and a chapati. Yes, yes, too much food but we were experimenting. The breads could have been better, they were thick and, I felt, could have been cooked a little more. That said, this is a personal opinion. The dessert we ordered was a gulab jamun and I can't recommend it. Was weird. The vanilla ice cream it was served with was good, so I can recommend the ice cream I felt that the service could have better. It was slow. There were two servers, but the restaurant wasn't packed. We asked our server to find out about the garnish on the starter and he never got back to us. He also promised to find out about the rice and again never got back to us. If visiting on Sunday for lunch, please note that municipal parking lot has a farmers market from 10am to 2pm. We will definitely give this restaurant another visit.

Google
Came into this restaurant hoping to order Chana masala - chickpea curry but didn’t find that on the menu. Samosas were delicious and the chutney green sauce was flavorful. The main dishes did not meet expectations as I’m more familiar with NYC Indian cuisine. Wouldn’t come back for the food. The restaurant was clean though. A bit small/crowded. Attentive staff. Pricey menu.

A chance meal this Saturday night was the crowning moment of our weekend away. The food was spectacular, everything a taste sensation. The lime cilantro sorbet coupled with the chili chocolate will never be forgotten- do yourself a favor and eat at Cinnamon!!!!

Google
Delightful lunch experience this week. The restaurant is intimate and cozy. The dishes were flavorful and unique. The vegetable samosas were delicious, as were the mango salad and tomato rasam soup as apps. There were many flavorful vegetarian options. The dingiri jalfrezi was truly remarkable. The service was prompt and super friendly - Thirza was so attentive and gave us great personal suggestions. Don't skip the pistachio kulfi and the madras coffee - truly remarkable. I will be back!

Yelp
Formerly one of our five star destinations, I brought my 95yo mom here for the dozenth time. Naan was excellent. Ordered it with Raita and Tadka Dal. One bite of the latter on Naan was so hot I could not taste the rest of my meal. I am not heat adverse, but this was absurdly hot. And not listed as hot and an item we had previously ordered. I ordered the mango salad, which I would have appreciated to cleanse my palate, but did not receive it. Everything was served at once. The Lamb Rogan Josh, which mom has enjoyed countless times before, was good but not great and had very little meat on the shank. My Lamb Ulatiyathu was ok. Sad to remove this restaurant from the favorites list of the greatest generation (90 yo plus!) after so many years of patronage.

Yelp
I met my friend here for lunch on a weekday. We started with chai tea which was delicious. I am used to chai lattes but this was really good even if unsweetened. How come when I make it at home it's not this good?! Whoever made it knew what they were doing! Next we tried the Tomato Rasam soup which was delicious. A tomato based soup with a tiny kick. I was surprised at the big bowl and very happy. Along with the soup, we ordered goat cheese naan. I think I prefer the garlic naan but it was still very good. We shared an order of KODI VEPPUDU. It's a specialty of the Andra Region. Boneless chicken dry cooked with Hyderabad sauce, a thick sauce of peanuts, ginger, garlic and red onion. This was so very good that I will definitely be back and have an entree all to myself for dinner. The waiter was attentive without hovering which I appreciate when catching up with a friend. The place is super clean and comfy especially if you get a seat on the padded couch. Since it was my birthday...I got the seat this time.

Yelp
I'm sad to write this review since I was very excited to try this restaurant, but my experience was just such a disappointment. I ordered online for takeout, however, when we went to pick it up, they had not even started to make it---so the food was delayed 30-40 minutes so they could make it. We tried some basic/classic choices like the chicken tikka masala and the tandoori chicken. As those are classics, I have tried a slew of these at other establishments and they were just so blah in comparison. As Zoha stated, the chicken tikka tasted like a spiced tomato sauce (she compared it to spiced ketchup). It was the most "tomato-ey" tasting masala sauce that I have ever tried. The chicken tandoori was so incredibly dry that it was hard to get through and to make everything more over the top bad, there was a PIECE OF METAL in the food. Photo for reference in the review. Maybe we just went on a bad night, but I will not be returning anytime soon.

Yelp
The food was tasty and well presented. We ordered a dal tadka and bindi, it was well balanced and tasty. The restaurant ambience was fine, I liked the stylish bowels and cutlery. There were some flies in the restaurant though. The service was decent, a little unfriendly and impatient despite the price of the over priced food (and presumably over priced gratuity)

Yelp
Cozy date night spot. Doors were open with the fresh breeze coming in. Super relax feel. Warm complimentary colors used in artwork. Food was full of flavor. Garlic non is always a must. Service started strong and slightly declined as waiters section was sat. Would go back. Many more options I need to try. Loved the cute bowls all the food came in.

Yelp
I didn't dine in this time, but I have dined in before. The food is always excellent and service on point. I love the authenticity of the food and ambiance. Highly recommended

Yelp
I guess you don't come to a small town in the Hudson Valley for Indian food. Coming from a big city with a large Indian community, we're used to much better Indian food. I was really disappointed at the lack of flavoring of the chicken tikka masala. To be honest, the sauce tasted to me like the tomato sauce out of a Chef Boyardee can of ravioli. The saag paneer appeared to be full of fresh vegetables, but lacked the creaminess that I am used to. Even the naan was subpar. I mean, I guess if you're desperate for Indian food in this part of the country, this is what you have to go to. Very nice people I wish them well. But I just didn't think the food was that great. The service was good.

Yelp
Wonderful. Artful preparations and flavors. Great service in a nice comfortable setting. I ate here while in Rhinebeck for a weekend getaway (actually, it was during the week, so technically it was a weekday getaway, though I'm not sure how material that is to this review). The menu is pretty deep in that it offers cuisine from different areas of India , with a nice variety. The dosa were some of the best we have ever had, and the serving sizes were ample without being over the top. Prices were very good by New York City standards. The turmeric chai tea was very good, the hot toddy was a basic hot toddy with an Indian flare adding some star Anise. This place is a go!

Yelp
This is a cute popular restaurant in town. I went on a busy Saturday night at 7pm and was seated right away at the communal table. As a south asian person, my critique of the food below is based on a lifetime of cooking and eating Indian and Pakistani food. The menu was on printer paper Andra chili chicken, $10: this was my favorite dish of the night. SO flavorful and actually spicy! The peppers and onions gave a nice crunch to the dish. But the portion was only 3 large tablespoons. Give it 4.5/5 stars Masala Dosa, $15: the portion size was better on this for the price. Crispy light dosa stuffed with potatoes. Light coconut sauce and a warm veggie stew (sambar) on the side. Give it 4/5 stars Tandoori chicken, $22: this has 4 large pieces of bone in chicken, seasoned and barbecued. The flavor and tenderness of the chicken was good. Give it 3.5/5 stars Chicken tikka masala, $22: this was extremely disappointing. The flavors were just not there, and the tomato sauce tastes like a sweet ketchup sauce. It is one of their popular dishes but as a person who has eaten this dish 1000 times - this was not it! The flavors were extremely underdeveloped. Comes with a small rice bowl. Give it 1/5 stars Machili tandoor, $30: the biggest disappointment. Do not order this. It's a VERY SMALL fish filet that was actually a little undercooked. The description says grilled veggies but it only had a few pieces of zucchini and some spinach leaves... for the price this was a HUGE FAIL. Give it 0/5 stars Lamb shank rogan josh, $27: the meat was tender and flavorful. Give it 4/5 stars. Dessert: $6 each pistachio kulfi was small and icy chippy, not creamy (if you know you know) kheer: very small portion, extremely saffron heavy

Yelp
This restaurant sits in a very cozy little location downtown. Stopped by for takeout on a Thursday night in late October and it was packed. Thus a good sign. Ordered: Goat cheese naan - breaks apart a bit too easily and has a sweet taste to it but also contains plenty of goat cheese. Very new and different as never seen this at any other place before Palak chaat - this crispy fried spinach delicacy very rarely found in other Indian restaurants is quite a delight! Crispy friend spinach with tomatoes and onions as well as 3 dipping sauces (well 2 sauces and 1 side of some chopped veggie thing). Coriander sauce with it is my favorite Murgh shashi korma - I'm pretty sure that just means chicken korma in Hindi. So off the bat was a little skeptical, sauce made from nuts? Ehh... after taking a bite of this creamy velvety sauce with a nice nutty undertone balanced with warm spices. Game changer. I will never doubt an Indian sauce again! Rajastan murghi - this is a chicken dish in a red sauce with ginger, (I believe) pickling spices and a hot pepper. This combination is a tango on the tastebuds. An elegant fiery punch with the tickle of the picking spices and ginger. Really smooth heat that brings joy as it moves down to your belly. Absolutely fantastic. Please try

Yelp
This spot was REALLY good. came here for dinner for our weekend getaway trip from NYC. Was super impressed! the daal was so flavorful & the Andra chili chicken was bomb. the ambiance was really romantic, they played such nice music & the servers were so kind. 10/10

Yelp
This is probably our favorite Indian restaurant anywhere. Goat cheese Naan and Saag Paneer. All of their lamb dishes are excellent. It is packed every night of the week and great ambiance, even when full of people.

Yelp
A nice lunch spot while in Rhinebeck. I had heard that this place was delicious had to give it a try. The beer was served in a cold, frosted glass which I always appreciate. I wish the menus were a bit nicer than just paper, considering the prices are high, and it's a bit upscale. The Botti Kebab has really good flavor but it wasn't as tender as I was expecting. A few of the pieces were tough. The Palak Chaat was a stand out. The fried spinach wasn't saturated in oil, it was perfectly crispy with some great sauces. A delicious app worth getting. The goat cheese naan is DEFINITELY worth trying. So much cheese, and the naan was probably the best I've ever had. The Chicken Chettinad was good. The chicken was a bit dry but the sauce was delicious and SO spicy. The Lamb Masalawala was a HUGE success. Tender, juicy, and right off of the bone. This is a must try. The table rice was perfectly cooked too. The inside is inviting and what you'd expect - nothing fancy but nothing run down. Our servers were nice and brought everything at just the right times. I'm sure this is a hit for weekend dinner.

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. The food is refined Indian. The best I've ever had! Service and ambiance were amazing. There are too many details to list so I suggest experiencing it first hand! Cinnamon is in my top 5 of best restaurants in the Hudson Valley!

Yelp
Stopped by for a late-ish lunch. Lovely ambience and wonderful service, if a little slow. My husband enjoyed his okra dish. My saag paneer tasted very fresh and bright, but under-seasoned. Luckily, the delicious mango pickle condiment rescued it! Get some of that. Garlic naan was piping hot and also tasted homemade. Not a bad choice if you are in Rhinebeck!

Yelp
Do you enjoy bland, uninspired and unseasoned "Indian Style" food? Do you like sitting near a sunny window in 90+ degree weather with just a whisper of air conditioning and have an employee shame you for trying to "block the sunlight" by pulling down the shade halfway? How do you feel about waiting over an hour for your entree? To be fair, there was one server for the entire floor and he did an outstanding job. Definitely should have been at least one other server since there was a private party upstairs (which seemed to be their main focus of the evening). Someone from management came over to my table towards the end of our meal and offered to bring me a glass of wine, after 20 minutes it still hadn't arrived. Paid the bill and we happily left. Crossing Cinnamon off our list, plenty of other restaurants to explore in the Hudson Valley
google avatar

Yelp
I was really impressed by Cinnamon, the type of place you bank and go back to when visiting the area because it was so good. Food was fantastic, some dishes I have had in the past but don't find frequently on menus and they did them wonderfully. Our waiter was about as professional as you can get, old school that you don't find much these days which I really appreciate. He was very cool. And then overall just a very warm, comfortable restaurant with ambiance and charm. Inside opening to the street seating made it feel very cozy in the small town environment which showcases why so many love this town.

Yelp
There are not enough stars!! So I was visiting Rhinebeck and asked my Air B & B host where to eat, told her I was in the industry myself, and don't get many weekends off so I wanted something fun, elevated and comforting. This was her first recommendation and I wish I was staying here longer cause I would've come back. We did 4 apps, ended up getting an entree and desserts to go. This place is clean, really cute. The service was AMAZING!! Ladino Gobi- this is a cauliflower/tomato dish comforting, something different Both Kabob, the lamb was very tender, distinct flavors My favorite - Palak Chaat crispy fried spinach, the texture, the flavors, it was light yet dense with flavor. We loved this so much we grabbed another to go! We ordered take our entrees and desserts I'll update once I consume...

Yelp
My husband and I stopped by Cinnamon this afternoon for a late lunch. The food and service are still outstanding - the food was expertly prepared and beautifully presented; the service was great. The portions so generous that we got take-out which served for dinner this evening with a salad. By far the best Indian restaurant in the Hudson Valley.

Pamela Y.

Yelp
We've been waiting half an hour for our reserved table. Not trustworthy ! But good food. Be prepared to wait. Very arrogant

Yelp
Apparently this is a local favorite and has quickly become a favorite for this non-local yet frequent visitor! This was my second visit to Cinnamon, the last time was for lunch. I love how they mark each dish's origin, showcasing the diversity within the blanket term "Indian cuisine", and educating our palates to distinguish between a Goan specialty and a Punjabi delicacy. We were a party of 6 and were brought upstairs for spacious seating arrangements. Our server, originated from east of India but resided in Bombay for many years, was very enthusiastic about the food. Upon his recommendation, my local friends got to taste the amazing Masala Dosa with coconut chutney, a personal favorite of mine. It was after 8 pm, and we thought we had over ordered, but everything was consumed with ravenous appetite! And I made masala omelet the next morning with leftovers :-). I'll remember to take some photos next time - yes there will be plenty of next times. p.s. when the bill came, we were also quite impressed at how reasonable the prices were.

R. S.

Yelp
The space, menu, ambience is lovely looking. As a diner I would say it feels very crowded inside, and somewhat challenging to negotiate. The flooring is very slippery & this is a hazard that the owners should consider addressing as it is a liability. Menu is amazing and the food is presented with beautiful color. However the flavor is very, very bland compared to any other Indian restaurant. I presume this was adjusted for the "local pallete" but it didn't even taste like Indian food, only looked like it. True of both the tikka masala and navratran korma. Looked nice but no magic or flavor. Service from waiters was unfriendly and unwelcoming. They missed items off our order, kept people waiting at our table, and they didn't seem to care at all?! Kind of a conundrum. How are you in the service industry and your patrons are apologizing to you just to make the moment of fine dining less disappointing for all who are paying good money for a night out! This is my second time coming here and I wanted to give it a second chance before posting these observations. Hopefully the management will consider them, constructively, especially since they are planning to expand to Woodstock.

Yelp
Went here on Monday for dinner after work. The food was absolutely incredible. We had samosas as a starter then shared the Malai Kofta & Sabzi Bahaji with garlic naan and rice. I have been raving about this food since Monday night to anyone who will listen. I will for sure be going back for takeout and dine in in the future. An excellent spot!

Shanghaishaman S.

Yelp
I loved a lot of the food here, some of the best Indian I've had coming from both high end and hole in the wall in nyc, la and abroad. I ordered the saag paneer, daal and naan and they were phenomenal. Didn't love the rice pudding which tasted like dusty old spices and saffron, or the cleanliness of the restaurant - so many flies, and ants on the table. Staff seemed out of it as well.
google avatar

Lara G.

Yelp
This is a fantastic restaurant. Flavors are authentic and delicious. We went for lunch and tried the lamb dish. It's supposed to be the spiciest thing on the menu, but we didn't find it spicy. We also had sag paneer spinach, along with naan bread. We started with calamari and had a couple of desserts to finish. Everything was very tasty. I have tried many things on their menu and have always been completely satisfied.
google avatar

Sharon V.

Yelp
Perhaps my expectations were too high based on the reviews, but I found Cinnamon to be fine vs amazing. The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere. Service, again, was fine, nothing special. Our main server was personable, but the hostess and support staff just okay. The food was obviously made from high quality ingredients but the overall dishes came up short. The naan was thin and on the crispy side vs soft and samosa pasty was also kind of hard vs flaky. Chicken tikka masala had good quality chicken but the sauce was bland. The sabzi bahaji, however, proved the delicious star of the table, and the rice was very good. My dining companion and I have both lived in India and tried Indian restaurants all over the world, and neither of us will go out of our way to eat here again. On top of everything, the meal was hella expensive. I think if you go in without a lot of experience with or defined preferences around Indian food, you might give it a higher rating.
google avatar

Jacklyn K.

Yelp
Love the ambiance/decor in this place and the food is delicious! Great in the summer for that indoor-outdoor feel as they have a dining room that opens completely to the street. Definitely pricey as is most dinners in Rhinebeck. Portion sizes are normal. Chicken tikka masala was melt in your mouth yumminessssss. The garlic naan was just ok, Cucumber Raita was really light and refreshing as an app (kind of reminded me of a more flavorful tzatziki sauce). I will say everything here tastes fresh and lighter than other Indian dishes I've tried (less oily and not as filling). While this used to be my favorite Indian place in the Hudson valley.. I've found others that, in my opinion, are much more authentic tasting, more reasonably priced and much larger portions.

Yelp
Cinnamon walks a difficult line in creating a higher end Indian dining experience. It's a difficult task simply because this style of cuisine has certain staples and straying to far outside the traditional classics and it can be met with resistance from the purists. Fortunately for my taste spuds I believe they provide the perfect blend of traditional with a fresh take on the cuisine without any gimmicks or tricks. No need to go into much detail about the various dishes. Basically: if you are a fan of Indian food. Go here.
google avatar

Brian M.

Yelp
This is the most amazing restaurant in the area! Doesn't matter what kind of food we're talking about, Cinnamon is the chosen one! Without a doubt, make reservations because you won't get a seat for a little while. Don't say I didn't warn you. It's a small restaurant and they utilize every square inch but the staff is the friendliest and super attentive as soon as your seated. I'm not even sure what to recommend because I've been here a lot and had nearly everything on the menu. I can honestly say, you can close your eyes and put your finger on the menu and you heart will melt. We had Malai Kofta for an appetizer with naan and it's a great way to start the experience. Note to self, you can never have enough naan. From there we had Mixed Grill which has lamb chops, chicken and shrimp. My goto there is always the lamp chops. Make sure you get some extra naan, Coconut Rice and Masala sauce. After a great evening of fine food and great company, you will leave there thinking of when you can come back. Which you will be...

Kushagra S.

Yelp
No doubt the ambience is good but the restaurant is expensive compared to the food quality and quantity served. Edison and Jersey City has far better Indian restaurants serving authentic Indian cuisine.
google avatar

Evie S.

Yelp
Very very good Indian food. Attentive service. And a really nice ambiance. I'll be going again!
google avatar

Aleena D.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious food but I have to say the service wasn't great from the start. The waiter wasn't friendly, which is okay. However, asked for chutney for the palak chat appetizer and never got it till the bus boy came over with more water. We also asked the waiter to box two dishes but one went to trash without apology, discount or taking it off the bill. Deff will visit again but hopefully better service next time!
google avatar

Stace K.

Yelp
Excellent place. Service was good. Vibe was classy and modern. The food really stood out. This is not your average northern Indian restaurant. Everything was very flavorful and impressive. We got the the goat Biryani, lemon rice, garlic naan, and one of the curries. We also got the fried spinach, which was the only thing I did not like.

Yelp
My wife and I recently went to Rhinebeck for a food and drink centered vacation in the countryside. We ate at many places and I don't need to say why they were less than in this review, but Cinnamon really stood out. They let us in to sit 10 minutes early and were attentive. For brunch we got drinks, the Mango Chili cockatil had perfect sweet and heat for the warm morning. The lychee martini was a true lychee flavor which alone would have been nice but stood lower next to the Mango Chili margerita. The food was excellent - flavorful and cooked well. Not sure what other people ordered to say otherwise. We started with the lamb Boti kabob which was cooked a perfect medium rare with a sear and tons of flavor. The RAJASTHAN MURGHI (chicken) was excellent with tender chicken in a corander pod forward sauce. Could they have ground the coriandor more? I suppose, but it gave it pop. We paired it with the Shrimp Mapas and my wife and I took opposite sides on which was better, but neither was less than very good. I can't fail to mention the Garlic Naan. Points for being priced the same as plain naan, but maybe the plain naan shouldnt be $5. That said, it was crisp AND chewy with a solid garlic flavor. I would definitely go back!

Yelp
This is a phenomenal Indian restaurant in the heart of the Hudson valley. My brother lives in Kingston and this is his favorite area Indian restaurant - I really enjoyed the long, communal tables and bright, airy setting. The menu is thoughtful and delicious, with plenty of great vegetarian options, and some fun cocktails. We ordered the Lasuni Gobi to start (excellent answer to the American flirtation with buffalo cauliflower), and the Malai Kofta (phenomenal and unusual, with some really cool textural elements and recognizable ingredients), and the Navarthna Korma (delicious cashew sauce!), with an order of garlic naan and a round of lychee martinis. There wasn't a single disappointment on the table - the waitstaff was attentive, the noise level was just fine (although it wasn't mobbed when we were there), the portion sizes were incredibly reasonable (not ginormous), everything was interesting, fresh, and delicious, and the lychee martini was a particular standout. I just wish it was in Dallas so I could visit more often.

Loraine A.

Yelp
I have eaten here twice and both times I was very happy with my meal. The Palak Chaat is excellent. It is a busy place so I'd suggest reservations.

Yelp
There was a little wait for a table for one this Friday afternoon but it was worth it! I ordered their lamb chops lunch special that was served over brown rice and came with a small side spinach and tomato salad. I also ordered garlic naan and a cosmo. The garlic naan was perfection. Very garlicky and perfectly baked and crispy. I could have eaten two more basketsfull. The lamb chops were also delicious--four small chops was plenty for lunch. I'm just passing through Rhinebeck so likely won't be back for a long time, but I wish Cinnamon were in my hometown and I'd go every week.

Yelp
(4.5 stars) Dinner here was lovely. We dined outside and they had a heat lamp setup which helped keep us cozy and snug. Both the chicken korma and the chicken tikka Masala were super aromatic and bright. The chicken was high quality white meat and didn't disappoint. Definitely plan on returning next time we're in Rhinebeck. Only two things were slightly disappointing. We ordered three meals but we were only brought two rice bowls, but they quickly brought us a third when we mentioned it. And the soup we ordered was served lukewarm, which I'm not sure if it's supposed to be, but it would've been nice if it was hotter, especially sitting outside. Aside from those small things, a really lovely dinner.

Yelp
A little pricey but so so tasty. In the heart of dreamy Rhinebeck. Everything is beautiful and make sure to make reservations. Perfect for date night !

Yelp
The food was absolutely fantastic!every dish, superb. The reason for 4 stars not 5 is because of the service. From the time we ordered until our good arrived it was 50 minutes. Fortunately, it was a beautiful evening to be sitting outside. We ordered dessert and they brought it out before clearing off the table. The server was actually trying to find a place among all the empty dishes to put it on the table. "Please clear this first" I suggested. His response told me that was a novel idea. Because the food was truly so incredible I plan to return .

Yelp
Transcendent. Best Indian I've ever had. Who would've thought you could find it in Rhinebeck. Pretty good service, a little slow but they are busy so I get it. Very welcoming and nice. Great ambiance, have sat in all parts of the restaurant, indoor/outdoor is the best.

Yelp
We were here for lunch on a Monday. Had the Lychee Martini, which was very good, vegetable samosas and chicken Tikka Masala. The overall service was good and no particular issues with the food. Although the Msala was a bit watery. Overall a solid place.

Yelp
The food was fresh and very well prepared, but the service was brusque. The waits for the table (with reservation), for the initial service, and for the drinks to be served were protracted. The ambience was fair. Is the aim to move to a take-out business? I am concerned about the opening of the new restaurant in Woodstock. Friendly, professional, well trained service by people who connect with customers is vital. We felt first neglected and then rushed, and not valued.

Yelp
We were spending a weekend out of NYC in Rhinebeck and came across this gem. Their food is delicious! Plenty of options for vegans and vegetarians alike. We tried the Masala Dosa, the Palak Chaat, and the Lasuni Gobi. The idli that came with the dosa was the best I've had. In fact, I often avoid it at certain places because it's not as good as the rest of the food. Here, I drank it! I have had many chaats before and always loved them, but had never seen Palak chaat. Wow. What a treat! The spinach is fried but ever so lightly and retains the thinness of the leaf. We were in awe at how delicious it was. Lasuni Gobi is always one of our favorites, and it was here as well! This was by far one of our favorite meals in Rhinebeck. We'll definitely be back to try the green dosa amongst other things.

Yelp
I had such a tasty meal here; I indulged in their buffet service as this allowed me to try many different styles of of their cuisines. I decided to dine at the bar and Had such a whopper of refreshing tasty cocktail also. My drink was so amazingly tasty. Wow. Although small, intimate of sorts, one didn't feel so crowded while dining there. The bartender was very engaging and told of his pleasure of working there in that capacity and how much he enjoyed coming up with new cocktail menus. Yes, I went back for seconds, another full plate and unfortunately couldn't indulge in another cocktail. (Driving) This is definitely one of my favs in Rhinebeck.

Yelp
One word. Mediocre. They don't seem to be trying too hard. I had a lamb curry; the meat was overcooked and dry. My wife had a chicken tikka masala that tasted as if it came from a grocery store jar. No papadams. They don't serve them. A mediocre chardonnay wine by the glass; two words overpriced. (ok, its one word, but you get my point). A mediocre meal that resembled an Indian TV dinner for two shouldn't cost nearly $100.00 Dine there if you must. Avoidance would be the wiser choice.

Yelp
The spot is so nicely done and the food was great. We had the tomato rasam soup (took a few sips to adjust my palate, but it was really great), calamari- excellent, mixed grill- lamb was so tender and sauce great, and the lamb phaal- yum.
