The Best Cookies in Seattle | Eater Seattle

"This humble stand in Pike Market is supposed to be known for their cinnamon buns, which ehhhhh. The oversized cookies stacked in the bake case, however, are truly where this place shines. These suckers are the size of my hand, have the perfect texture combo of crispy edges with a soft and chewy center, and are loaded with mix-ins for those who like a big, substantial treat. The Monster cookie lives up to its name with a scary amount of oats, nuts, chocolate chips, and M&Ms, and the Buckeye cookie comes topped with a whole peanut butter cup placed right in the center." - Kurt Suchman

I decided to try the cookies instead of focusing on what the name of the place suggests—Cinnamon Work. Maybe I'll give the cinnamon rolls a shot next time, though I’ve seen mixed reviews. You never know until you try it yourself. For my first experience, I ordered the chocolate chip cookie. It was a massive cookie, and the dough had a great flavor. Overall, I thought it was good—definitely not disappointing. However, when I went back for more cookies before leaving town,I didn't enjoy round 2. For example, the chocolate chip pecan cookie was a letdown. The dough had zero flavor—it was pretty tasteless. I wouldn’t recommend it, which is surprising considering how much I liked the plain chocolate chip cookie. I also tried the "monster" cookie, which was fine, but not better than the original chocolate chip cookie. It was decent, but I’d say it was still better than the pecan chocolate chip. On my second visit, I noticed something strange too: the chocolate chip cookie was a bit thicker than the one I had during my first visit (pictured in this review). This made me question the consistency of their cookies. Thankfully, the flavor was still there, and surprisingly, the cookie didn’t harden as quickly as I expected, even after traveling with it for a while. One more thing to note—the ordering process could be smoother. It's a walk-up counter, but people tend to cut in line without asking if you are waiting and the staff doesn’t always pay attention to who's next. Allowing others jumped ahead — while you’ve been waiting on the orders ahead of you. . It’s a small thing, but definitely worth mentioning.

This cookie is huge, enough for 2-3 people. It's nice and warm. I found it pretty good plus I like cookies. I feel like it could use just a tiny bit cleaning.

Google
We were looking for coffee when we came across this shop. We ordered 2 Americano coffees, and they were delicious. Best coffee in the area. The coffee was so good we went back for more. They also make delicious cinnamon buns. We got the chocolate hazelnut cinnamon bun, and it was so tasty.

Google
We were drawn in by the aroma of cinnamon rolls, and found out they had this Infaltion buster deal, which comes with a cup of black drip coffee, and a cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll tasted alright though.

Google
Dude. If you go to Pike Place, go to Cinnamon Works first, so you get a gluten free monster cookie before they run out. And while you're there, get everything else they have that's gluten free. And a hot chocolate. Even if it takes a couple days to finish it, it's still so good. I want one so bad right now I'm about to drive downtown.

Google
Cinnamon Works is part of Pikes Place Market, which is a vibe. The gluten free cookies were enormous! Everything we tried - snickerdoodle, cinnamon raisin and chocolate chip cookies were delicious. The system of ordering and paying is a little inefficient though it's well worth the visit.

Google
HUGE cookie for only $6.50!!! amazing deal and super delicious. the pumpkin chocolate chip cookie was perfect and the service was simple, fast, and easy. the area smelled amazing and cookies are baked fresh :)

Google
Stopped here to grab a Snickerdoodle cookie. The service was quick, the worker was friendly, and the amount of food for the price was incredible. If you’re in the market, stop by.

Yelp
By far, one of the best gluten-free bakeries I've ever been to. They have plenty of traditional, vegan, and gluten-free options so thankfully, I wasn't limited to one or two items. I ended up going for a monster raisin gluten-free cookie, and the apple walnut muffin. Both were amazing and filling! Definitely a nice way to start the day when exploring Seattle. The prices were fair. The service was great! Everybody working was hustling, but also smiling so I think they're taking pretty good care of. Also, the cute bohemian girl with long brown/red hair and the nose ring was very sweet and great to work with. I definitely recommend going early because it gets busy fast.
google avatar

Yelp
Always busy but always delightful. Good news for all the dairy free folks, they offer several vegan options! From vegan cinnamon rolls, vegan muffins, and vegan cookies! Love them all but really enjoyed the fun cinnamon swirl muffin. Their cookies are huge, shot out to the walnut chocolate chip cookie. Check them out, just south of the infamous Starbucks, outside.

Yelp
This place is serving up some of the biggest best cookies in Seattle. Situated in Pike Place Market, you walk up, place your order and get your items. They have tons of desserts but I went for the cookies. This review is going to be short but to the point. Go. Get. Some. I tried the following cookies: Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter, Snickerdoodle, Ginger Snap Molasses and Chocolate Chip with Pecans. Every last one of them was a 10/10. You wanna know how good those cookies were? We legit forgot to take pics! They are gone! No chance at making it to the review. Go for yourself! Thank me later.

Yelp
Bought some good things at this Pike Place Market bakery. Cinnamon Works is just one of the many such places in there to get breads and cookies. It also has many options that are gluten free and vegan. Gets crowded when it opens because the stuff is best when it's fresh. The hours are kind of limited, which is the only bad thing. A place that's pretty much just open to get something and go. It's located on the west side of the market. They have the breads and treats on display and you order at the window. An easy process. The hardest thing is waiting. It's about $6 for a cookie. Last time they had the Vegan Oatmeal Raisin. Also there's muffins. These include several plant based ones like the banana chocolate chip, and pumpkin. For sure they bake a lot. It's closed Mondays to Wednesdays, so it's limited for being open. There's plenty to get for vegans.
google avatar

Kristen N.

Yelp
So many vegan options! The vegan chocolate chip walnut cookie tasted incredible and it was very big. Line was short even on a busy weekend and the lady behind the counter was very nice.
google avatar

Linda L.

Yelp
Got the snickerdoodle cookie. It's $5.75 ($6.25 if paying with card). This cookie is huuuuge almost the size of one's face. The cookie was not too sweet which was great considering the size. It has a more soft, slightly moist crumbly, (not dry crumbly) texture. You order on the right side by the cashier. Service is fast when I went there wasn't a line. Also for the extra charge when purchasing a card I appreciated that the cashier gave another notice that there is an extra charge for cards despite them already having signs telling you that.
google avatar

Fiona Z.

Yelp
Great for vegan/gluten-free options, but the two cookes I had weren't actually good, and definitely not worth the $6+ price each. +$0.50 fee for card. Snickerdoodle cookie ($5.75) tasted too eggy and had hardly any cinnamon on top. I wouldn't have called it a snickerdoodle at all. The vegan oatmeal raisin ($6) was fine, but not amazing. Neither had as much cinnamon flavor as the promising smell of the bakery implied.
google avatar

Dominique A.

Yelp
Gluten free friends, do yourself a favor and get a cinnamon roll!!!! (Yes you heard me right, gluten free cinnamon rolls!!!) I was almost deterred because the gentleman in front of me asked the clerk what her gluten free recommendations would be and when asked about the cinnamon rolls, she said ehhh they're alright, but suggested the regular ones... Anyway, glad I didn't leave the line and finally tried one of the gluten free cinnamon rolls :)) it was DELICIOUS, so moist, and even a little warm
google avatar

Tiffany H.

Yelp
I was swept away when I walked by and smelled this delicious smell. I had to stop and try the cookies are humongous however, the taste and texture were horrible. I decided to go with the highly recommended snickerdoodle, which was just not great. Could've been the cookie that I was recommended or tried. The staff were friendly. I hope that your cookie or dessert tastes so much better than mine did not sure if it was the day or the cookie itself but it's hard to mess up a classic.
google avatar

Elise M.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic chocolate chip cookie here! It's not served warm, but otherwise it was everything I could have possibly wanted. Sometimes I worry about how the quality will be of a cookie this big, but cinnamon works definitely delivered!
google avatar

Gagan G.

Yelp
The staff was really kind and they also have vegan/gluten free options which are delicious as well. They also have good coffee options with the local coffee blend!! Definitely recommend!
google avatar

Becca P.

Yelp
We got the gluten free monster, oatmeal raisin and chocolate chip cookies. The monster was amazing. The oatmeal raisin was really good but the chocolate chip has an odd aftertaste.
google avatar

Kendall D.

Yelp
For context: we did not have the cookies. Only the cinnamon rolls. We stayed at a hotel nearby the market and wanted to find something for breakfast. We saw the crowds and thought this place would be great for some cinnamon rolls! Unfortunately, it was probably the saddest cinnamon rolls we've ever had. Very dry, practically no frosting, and overall just the most underwhelming thing we ate during our trip. The next few days we went to other places in the market. I will admit their cookies looked delicious and I wish we got some to try. Those seem to be the clear favorite of customers who come here.
google avatar

Hnin T.

Yelp
Walking near pike place and came across these cookies! They were huge and delicious. I love that they have a vegan gluten free choice. The service was wonderful all the workers were super friendly. Would definitely come again!
google avatar

Barry S.

Yelp
I love their baked goods, and they are always friendly. When I was walking eating my cookie I had an after taste that was a first. Nevertheless the cookie was bomb
google avatar

Debbie B.

Yelp
The smell coming from this place lifted me off my feet and I just floated there. The cookies are bigger than your head and smell absolutely wonderful. I ordered a chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, peanut butter, and ginger molasses cookie. The chocolate chip I shared with my group right away because it was fresh and warm and all gooey. All the cookies were good! The employees working when I went were super nice and extra friendly people. The prices aren't bad for the size of the cookie. Definitely take a friend or two to share them with because I couldn't hardly get through half of one of the cookies.

Yelp
This place is absolutely amazing. We stopped by here while at Pike's Place Market and had a lot of fun. The staff is extremely sweet and work so hard - especially till close. Plus they have so many flavors!!! I ended up getting one of the pumpkin chocolate chip cookies and it was divine. One cookie will set you back about $6 bucks. But it's so worth it! They're as big as your head and easily enough to share. IG: @QueenOfAdventureNYC

Yelp
After a long trip from SoCal we were starving for a snack since we still had lunch plans soon after. Our first stop was in the Pike Place Market area so we walked around and came across this little shop on the street. We just got a regular cinnamon roll with frosting, and got it warmed up. The cinnamon roll was simple, but from its simplicity you can feel the gooiness of the inside of the roll, and taste the cinnamon that's rolled up. The frosting adds a bit of gooiness to it as well, but honestly even if you get it without the frosting it would still taste great. There's really not much to say about the cinnamon roll other than it satisfied our sweets craving and was the perfect texture. The people working at the counter were super nice as well, and got it warmed up pretty quickly. If I'm ever in Seattle again, I do want to try out their cookies as well.

Yelp
I really wanted to love Cinnamon Works, but I didn't love any of the three items I purchased. The cookies here are heavy. They're huge and dense and no one who's ever had amazing gingersnaps or gingerbread would say it was good. If you take a bite and your response isn't "Mmm" then it's not a good gingersnap. The plain jane cinnamon roll was straight up bad and I don't think I've ever had one worse. I had one bite and threw it out. Finally, the blueberry muffin was the best of the three, but still not worth braving the Pike Place crowds for since it was just a basic muffin. Cinnamon Works' model seems to be to load up on covering many of their large treats with sugar, while not investing a ton in their internal flavor. So although I liked the muffin, it's just easier to pick one up at Whole Foods for equal or slightly better quality.
google avatar

Britni L.

Yelp
They have a whole window of gluten free goodies, which is why I came (recommended by several bloggers). I got there later, so some things were gone but I got a chocolate chip cookie and a cinnamon muffin. I guess I didn't get photos but both were very good. My son who has no food allergies had one of their half pound cookies, the size of his head. He was in heaven and ate away at it the whole day. Very good.
google avatar

Lisa M.

Yelp
The gluten free options were pretty depleted by the time we got there. I was hoping to get a gluten free dairy free cinnamon roll but no luck. Lots of gluten free options, lots of vegan--Not many that are gluten and dairy free. My husband got the iced pumpkin cookie and a cinnamon roll. He loved the cookie--good texture and not too sweet. Cinnamon roll was good--not dry.
google avatar

Katherine S.

Yelp
I'm a sucker for a flavorful cookie. The cookies here a HUGE! I mean, the size of my face type of ginormous! Definitely worth the price. Flavors we tried: ~Gingersnap (5/5): this one was my favorite. If you like spiced cookies, give this a try! ~Oatmeal Raisin (4/5): I might be the only person who likes oatmeal raisin cookies, but this one was so good! A little crumbly, but so good. ~Chocolate Chip (3.5/5): Solid Chocolate Chip cookie, but nothing special

Yelp
I was visiting Pike Place on a Sunday around 4, and I wanted something sweet. I saw a few people by this stand, and a worker bringing out fresh cookies which piqued my interest. I stood by waiting for someone to take my order, and after several minutes one of the workers impatiently asked if any of us wanted anything. A couple standing by me chose to walk away at this query, possibly due to the workers tone. I asked for a chocolate chip cookie, and when the worker asked me if there was anything else, I looked at the customization options on the flyer that appeared to be included in the price. She told me "if you're reading this for the options I can't guarantee that anything is still available". Which. Ok. Fair. They were set to close within the hour but as fresh cookies seemed were put out while I was watching this seemed a bit abrupt, rather than waiting for me to request or them marking off things that were depleted. But I decided to just get the cookie, paid (there is a credit card surcharge which is posted but the worker also warned me). Despite the questionable service, the cookie itself was incredible. It was very big, and warm, with a crispy edge and soft and chewy center with the chips slightly melted. Easily could satiate two people but I eagerly ate it alone. I would come back, just maybe with another worker. There are no tables here, just stand and order then walk away

Yelp
Legit my favorite place in the market. The smells are unbeatable. I die inside when I go to grab a cookie on days they're closed. They do charge for card. The vegan cookies are very good - allergen friendly*** My go-to is chocolate chip. I bring home a snickerdoodle for dad and oatmeal raisin for mom every time I go. Big cookie. Not too greasy. Great with milk. Quick service. Love that they employ high school kids.
google avatar

Holly T.

Yelp
You can smell this place for a while before walking up. It smells so heavenly. We just had to pick up something for us and to bring home to the teens. We ordered some of the gigantic cinnamon rolls. They were huge and she heated them up for us right there. We weren't going to eat them at that time, but if we were... that would have been amazing! We also ordered some of the big cookies. Those things are also huge. The kids loved them! We also enjoyed the tiny bite our kids allowed us to have. Lol It's worth the wait to get in line. I'm sure almost anything is great here.
google avatar

Julie M.

Yelp
The best cookies ever, amazing cinnamon rolls and all sorts of good things. Gluten free, one cookie can feed many people. Service is always good, it's in a stall at Pike Street Market, so it's busy and crowded. Worth fighting the crowds to feed one's sweet tooth!9
google avatar

Jodie C.

Yelp
Great huge gluten free cookies! Tasted great. A little pricey but worth it! Convenient corner location in Pike Place Market.
google avatar

Rafi M.

Yelp
Whenever I visit Pike Place, I make sure to stop here and pick up some goodies. I love how they serve numerous gluten free options! It's hard to choose, which is why I return frequently so I can sample it all! I've had a lot of cookies (pumpkin, chocolate chip, monster, snicker doodle, etc), and they've all been so good! They definitely have a great cookie recipe. I tried their cinnamon rolls for the first time. I heard so many reviews about them, so I had big expectations. They were so-so. They smelled amazing, which made me so excited. The texture was chewy and the flavor was plain. The cinnamon goodness was more in the icing than the roll itself. I plan on returning again and again! I'll probably skip the cinnamon rolls next time.

Scott K.

Yelp
These are the best cookies in town, period. Their other baked goods are top quality. The drinks are good, but nothing to write home about. They are a small mom-and-pop shop, so the service is very knowledgeable and friendly. Parking.... well, it is the market area, so good luck.
google avatar

Nick R.

Yelp
Honestly if you skip this shop you don't know what you're missing. I'm telling you that's the closest thing to grandma ever made, got for atleast a box
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
My wife and I just happened to walk by here while seeing Pike Place and decided to grab something. After a short wait we were overwhelmed by choice. As you can see from my picture these cookies are incredibly big, the cookie was the size of the plate in our hotel. We got the snickerdoodle to share, the place is called Cinnamon Works after all. It had a great cinnamon flavor and was nice and soft. It wasn't the most unique cookie they offered that day but was highly enjoyable. We would definitely recommend it and the place overall for a nice treat for the time or to take back somewhere else for later.
google avatar

Sophia Z.

Yelp
I always get the vegan snickerdoodle and it is soooooooo good. It's also the size of my face (: I've had friends bring it back for me (from west coast to east coast) and it's still good and relatively fresh after a few days.
google avatar

Miranda C.

Yelp
When I laid eyes on these massive cookies I thought they were going to change my life. While the size is impressive that's really the best part of the cookie it was pretty hard (due to it being so large I'm assuming it was intentionally made that way). I'm a big fan of the soft cookies so this wasn't actually life changing for me. The location is right by pikes place market so I'd recommend walking vs driving!
google avatar

Garvin C.

Yelp
Cookies looked delicious ... we bought only the pumpkin chocolate chip cookie as we already had some other stuff already. It looked great, but it seemed more like a cake/cookie hybrid? It didn't have a cookie texture like i was expecting, nor did it have any special taste or ingredient. It was a good cookie, but nothing special. I hope their other cookies are better!
google avatar

Carly C.

Yelp
Fluffly, doughy cookies and buns. What more can you ask for?? Pumpkin cookies year round. Favorite spot for a sweet (not too sweet) treat
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
Tasty treats, and lots of vegan options! The folks inside were wonderfully friendly and quick. A worthwhile stop in the middle of the Pike Place Market madness.

Be K.

Yelp
Go here for photo ops and experience of holding a giant cookie in your hand. I end up trashing my stale cookie in trash. Food was disappointing.
google avatar

Yelp
This place say it's open until 6pm but came here at 5pm and it was closed. Wouldn't come back.

Yelp
Stopped by during our last couple of hours in Seattle. Amazingly, the line wasn't long and I waited patiently behind a group who were ordering coffees. I noticed that there weren't any cinnamon rolls available and a few varieties of cookies left (it was a little before noon on a Saturday). I either got in line right after the group in front of me ordered coffee or there was only one person serving (there appeared to be 3 total people behind the counter), but it took quite some time before it was my turn. I'm assuming the woman behind the counter didn't see me move up in line and behind a pole AND the guy behind me holding a child was completely ignorant to the fact that I was indeed in front of him and waiting, but I GOT SKIPPED. And not just "Oh, I'm sorry I didn't see you", but the guy behind me ordered, paid, and moved on (RUDE)... as if I hadn't been standing there for 10 minutes. I mouthed an obvious "Are you serious?" as he's grabbing his cookies and paying. I'm quite certain the woman behind the counter realized her mistake and made it up to me in the end, but it also would've been nice to verbally acknowledge the mistake. (Long story even longer: this was the type of infuriation where you're stuck between being verbally irate or crying... thankfully, I did neither.) I got both my cookies (that I'm sure she only charged me for one) and moseyed away, still irritated. (And I need to note that after she put both cookies in the bag, she totally slammed her hand down on the bag. Is that a thing?) I got a ginger molasses cookie and a snickerdoodle cookie. When reviews say these cookies are massive, THEY ARE NOT LYING. I have big palms (yet, can still not palm a basketball) and these cookies were bigger than my hands. I will say that I'm not a HUGE fan of snickerdoodle cookies, but I'm so glad I got it as a back up. Ginger molasses cookies are usually my absolute favorite. While this cookie was good, it wasn't as spicy as I would've preferred. There was zero bite. The snickerdoodle was my absolute favorite. It was like the best bake between raw and crunchy; perfectly cakey cookie gooey. Both cookies are rightly soft in the middle. And did I mention they're HUGE. Would I go back? Yes. Would I try the ginger molasses again? No. Would I double down on the snickerdoodle? You bet your mom's sweet bum I would Will I still have a chip on my shoulder over being skipped? Prolly.

Ari ..

Yelp
We've been coming to this place for years and it's usually always amazing! Today, though, we walked up to the counter (no wait) but ended up standing for several minutes waiting for service while the young lady typed away on her phone. She looked up about 3 times and saw us waiting there, but kept typing. Eventually she came over and helped. She tried to give some excuse about needing to post something online, but that didn't really help much.. We got our usual cookies, Molasses and a Snickerdoodle. Usually they have a really great taste - a nice light spice to the molasses and a great full cinnamon flavor for the snickerdoodle. Today, the cookies were extremely bland!! They literally taste like nothing! So, with the service and now also the quality of the cookies going so far down hill, unfortunately we won't be back any time soon.
google avatar

Yelp
Do not recommend this place for coffee at all! We came here because it was next to Beechers and wanted some coffee. My order was a soy vanilla latte. The wait was long, and when my drink was handed to me, it was pure white. It looked like there was no coffee in it. The girl at the counter kept insisting that was how the drink supposed to be. I took a sip and instantly knew that this was just milk and vanilla and asked her to add "another" shot. Of course the drink instantly got darker, but the coffee was so diluted with so much milk that I took a few more sips and threw my drink away.

Yelp
Stumbled across this shop while walking along Pikes Place market. The display was quite small but they had a good selection of both vegan and non vegan items. They clearly listed all ingredients, which made it easy to determine what I could order for my friend with nut allergies. Ordered a maple apple muffin and blueberry muffin for my 2 friends. They both said that the muffins were good.
google avatar

Noel W.

Yelp
Great sales toon of very tasty large-sized pastries, including conventional and gluten-free. They have so many types of cookies, and the cinnamon rolls are incredibly delicious
google avatar

Tim A.

Yelp
So many gluten-free options. Tried the monster cookie and it was awesome! See my photo for ingredients. The big surprises in the monster cookie were the hint of peanut butter and the butterscotch. Yummy : )
google avatar

Sofia R.

Yelp
I was waking around Pike Place Market when I noticed Cinnamon Works place a fresh tray of some kind of pastry in their display window. Needless to say, I made a beeline straight over and ordered whatever it was. Turns out it was a Sticky Bun, I ordered a black coffee to go with it. Sticky, warm, gooey, and delicious are all the things a good sticky bun should be and this is what it was. The only thing I might wish would be more of the sticky sauce, but that's my decadent side talking. I enjoyed visiting Cinnamon Works! I'd love to revisit and try one of their giant cookies sometime.

Yelp
In passing to get some produce from the market, I see a ginger cookie and couldn't help but stop; anyone who knows me knows I LOVE ginger molasses cookies. My husband and son eyed the chocolate chip cookies, we ordered a dozen for them. Later that evening my husband told me after devouring two those were the best chocolate chip cookies he's had. Needless to say next weekend I'm certain he will order another dozen when we go back to the market. The customer service provided was phenomenal, and I really appreciate the vegan options. Great bakery to stop by when visiting Pike Place.

Yelp
Delicious large cookies. We shared a pumpkin chocolate chip and snickerdoodle cookies to munch on during the flight home. Chewy, thick and crunchy edges. Had a small line on the main street when we were visiting Pike's Place. They had smaller cookies and other vegan/gluten free baked goods options as well. Did not get to try the muffins or cinnamon rolls this time around, but open to trying them on next visit.

The W.

Yelp
We tried an assortment of cookies. Good flavor. Mine was a little on the dry side like it had been baked the day before. Definitely worth trying while in the area.
