Exceptional food, wonderful atmosphere and super attentive and professional service. Although we were there on Easter Saturday and the restaurant was full the dishes were delicious and superbly presented, the service had an excellent flow and everything was perfect.

Interesting food with beautiful flavours. As a tourist, I thought it was a great example of unpretentious but creative and modern French cuisine. The staff were friendly and helpful and I've been recommending this place to everyone who will listen.

The food I ordered had the potential to be super tasty as I really liked the concept of the dishes, but there was a lot of flavour lacking. Nonetheless, the premise of the "5 hands" restaurant is really inspiring and regardless it was a lovely cosy spot where I enjoyed this three course meal among colleagues (fellow foodies) as part of a work trip.

Great restaurant, delicious and interesting food and wine. When I’m next in Lyon I will definitely go back. Very nearly didn’t make it because the google maps booking link results in a cancellation email. Thankfully tried again on the restaurant website and it worked fine.

Cool place to stop by for lunch. Two courses meal and we didn’t get the desert there. But overall it’s good.

The food in old town Lyon is a gastronomic delight! From traditional bouchons to the vibrant Les Halles market, every bite is a revelation of flavors. A new generation of chefs and a new spin for Lyonnais cuisine N45°45.536' E4°49.622' When young Lyonnais Grégory Cuilleron and his two friends opened this neobistro in early 2016, it was an instant hit. They are working wonders at this cool loft-like space with a mezzanine, serving up tantalising creations based on what they find at the market. The mezzanine was no option, because it was filled with cigarette smoke, but the warm evening in April 2018 offered the perfect circumstances for outside dining in Vieux Lyon. The rare fish had an exceptional quality: firm and tender. Well prepared, not greasy, with delicate taste. Very enjoyable experience, confirming the high-quality kitchen of 5inq Mains. In the afternoon, we walk past the restaurant to reserve a table. Kindly, our name was put on the waiting list. Soon we received a confirmation call. The waiter spoke excellent English, due to working of several years in Miami, Florida, and helped us with the menu and the complementary wine: a subtle red Viognier, well suited for the fish. The food from this gourmet kitchen was reasonably priced. We enjoyed our dinner at 5inq Mains very much, partly because of the nice outside seating away from cigarette smoke inside. The chef knows how to cook: excellent. Recommended.

Came here for dinner our first night in Lyon. We had made a reservation in the afternoon, and we returned at the start of service in the evening for our meal. The staff was extremely friendly and helped us choose our dishes and a nice bottle of wine. The place was quiet when it first opened, but after an hour many (not all) of the tables filled up. The location is small, but it didn't feel crowded at all. I had the €31 menu. I started with the escargot, followed by the veal, and finished with a sand tart. The escargot was not a traditional French style and was quite small. The veal was fantastic (cooked just right with a bit of redness), but it was light on vegetables. The sand tart was tasty, but it was accompanied by a bizarre green sauce. Our waiter helped us choose a very nice wine, and he brought out an aerator which enhanced its flavour. We walked out happy. Overall, the meal was enjoyable, but I felt the restaurant was trying a bit too hard to be creative in their meals. Come here if you're looking for something innovative and modern in French cuisine. I would consider coming back if I visit Lyon again.

Unwittingly, we planned our European vacation during the Holy Week after Easter Sunday when businesses and restaurants tend to be closed. As such, finding an open restaurant in Lyon on Monday after Easter became a challenge. Our hotel's concierge came through with a reservation for Cinq Mains (5inq Mains on their sign) in Vieux Lyon. Not expecting much, we were impressed by this casual bistro with a hip vibe filled by locals. Although every dish was excellent, the main star was a terrine of rabbit - a day after Easter, an unintended irony. Nevertheless, the terrine was superb and a meal for two unto itself. Yet, we mustered on through sea bass with leek, beef with middle eastern spices, followed by relatively unsweet but well done strawberry ice cream with rhubarb, and chocolate and passion fruit ice cream. All were excellent and provided with friendly bilingual service and great, and reasonably priced wine advice. Definitely would return.

Waiters were super friendly and food was good, but they didn't have vegetarian options in the menu and even though they prepare something vegetarian for me it was not a real dish :-/

Our Airbnb host recommended three local restaurants and we weren't disappointed when we dined at Cinq Mains. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the regional wines and happy to discuss them in English. As we aren't keen on heavy, rich food, the choices on the menu were most agreeable with a nice blend of flavours and beautifully presented. We don't usually have dessert but the Entree, Main and Dessert option worked well. Again, we weren't disappointed when we chose to return on our last evening in Lyon.
