Wonderful family run restaurant in Tuscany. I had the pleasure of chatting with Marco the owner and getting to know him and the family. They put so much love and effort into the experience, it really shows! I had the olive oil tasting which was sensational and the chicken which was juicy, spicy and delicious. The wine was wonderful and the service was some of the best you’ll receive in Italy!

Honestly my favorite restaurant experience I’ve ever had. It’s been 2 years and I still think of it, and have finally gotten around to a review. The service and the food both outstanding. Marco went through the menu and recommended dishes and in what order to eat them based on what we wanted. The best olive oil I’ve tasted, I bought a bottle to bring home. The onion soup was delicious. They went above and beyond. We went twice while we were in the area. I just loved it.

Google
Fantastic family run restaurant with authentic Tuscan food and hospitable owners. Marco is very passionate about the food he put on his menu and we loved everything he recommended to us. I would have given this restaurant 6 stars if possible.

This is a beautiful, authentic, small, family-run restaurant with an amazing atmosphere. We were warmly welcomed by the chef himself, who greeted us with a big smile and seated us at our table. He explained every dish in great detail and made sure we felt completely at home. I had already planned to try the Florentine steak—and I have zero regrets. It was, without a doubt, the best steak I’ve ever had in my life. In fact, out of our entire trip to Italy, this was the most delicious meal both my wife and I had. No question about it. Highly recommended! Warm, cozy vibes and truly unforgettable food

We’ve dined here (they were our hotel’s recommendation) several times over the ten years or so that we’ve repeated the Chianti area for long weekends away. Good food, friendly service and reasonable prices.

We stopped in for lunch, did an Olive oil tasting, so fresh! Staff was friendly and explained the difference in the oils. We ordered lunch, tortilnli soup and pork ribs. House wine was delicious.

This place was amazing from beginning to end. The hosts were so nice and attentive. Marco went over the menu with us and made us recommendations and couldn't be happier with the meals he recommended. He even suggested what meals he recommends we eat before the other, he has a true passion for what he's doing. Both my wife and I had the best meals of our life here. Can't wait to be back.

During our 2 weeks throughout Italy, this charming restaurant was hands-down our group's favorite of the entire trip. The service was friendly, the outdoor seating by the park was lovely, and the food exemplified what homestyle cooking should be. Special standouts include the pastas and Sylvia's desserts, but everything we tried was sublime, well-balanced, flavorful, and delicious. The restaurant is worth seeking out, not just if you're near San Casciano in Val di Pesa; it's worth traveling for!

Yelp
Wish I could give ten stars! The Cinque appetizer platter was a perfect bite of all the things you didn't know you loved and needed to taste. The follow up of the Florentine steak truly blew us away. I thought we 'mericans knew steak, but this was a revelation! Definitely the food highlight of our visit to Italy.

Yelp
We took my in laws here for their anniversary dinner. Was absolutely fantastic. Great service, great menu, and great food. Start with the app sampler! We had some different things Assad and the filet with mushrooms. Lonnie was disappointed.

Yelp
If you are in Firenze, or within a day's drive of Marco and Silvia's Osteria, take the time to treat yourself to an authentic Tuscan feast. As Americans venturing into the region for the first time, Marco (and our waitress Sarah) introduced us to the cuisine and dining culture of the region. We would not deign to recommend anything other than what Marco and his team suggest. You tell them what you like and they will serve a culinary and cultural experience unlike anything you have ever had. Nestled at the end of a quiet lane fronting a church, this place is everything you never knew you always wanted in the way of Tuscan cuisine. Please, just go, and enjoy. We traveled to Roma, Firenze and Venezia, and Marco prepared the best meal we had in Italy. Mahalo Marco and Silvia!

Yelp
Great convivial dining, where the kindness rhymes with sweetness. Try. A little 'as dear price, attention to the choice of the menu. Grande pranzo conviviale, dove la gentilezza fa rima con dolcezza. Provare. Un po' caro come prezzo, attenzione alla scelta del menù.

Yelp
Hands down the most enjoyable meal not only for the taste and value but the ambiance and our gracious host/chef/owner, Mario. Everything we ordered was delicious. None of the other restaurants we went to in Tuscany gave us food recommendations but Mario did and with much care and consideration. For example he first made several food recommendations and then suggested wine pairings based on that (and he recommended a Classico vs. a fancy expensive wine). We started with the bruschetta (amazing and fresh tomatoes, olive oil and bread - no cheese), the trio of appetizers (onion bruschetta, "tuna" salad which was actually pork), and some sort of tomato/zucchini dish. One of the most talked about dishes we had - so delicious. We then had: - pesto pasta (so good, sort of grassy and unlike any pasta I've had before) - pomodoro and panchetta pasta (so good and the sauce was rich and slightly spicy) - spinach/butter sage ravioli (so good!!) - veggie lasagna (winner, not too vegetabley at all - so so good and perfectly crisped) Finally we had the best panna cotta I've ever had in my life as well as the chocolate cake which melted in our mouths. Will return again.

Yelp
This is the best restaurant in Tuscany. They have the best food. In the other restaurants the food is just ok, but the food at this restaurant tastes like real Italian food. The couple that runs it is very nice especially Marco. On the first time we came here he gave us some suggestions about what to order. You should eat at this restaurant

Yelp
We were recommended this place by our hotel - so glad we tried it! Excellent place, so cosy, friendly and patient service (the owner speaks good English and is able to describe the dishes), and there is a good variety of Tuscan dishes to try. We just left it in his hands and we did the right thing! For starters, a one-portion Tuscan 6-way sampler which had tapas style veggies and meat tasters (everything was yummy and the dish offers such a different taste for each sampler), and seconds we had the Bistec alla Fiorentina - about 3 pounds but it was totally doable between us both so don't be intimidated! The meat is succulent, so tender and done to your likes on the hot plate. We couldnt eat dessert after that, though! Totally recommended for those who want something typical and to remember from your Tuscan trip!

Yelp
When people ask us where the best restaurant in Florence is, we tell them it's in San Casciano Val di Pesa, about 15km south of Florence in Chianti! Owners Marco and Silvia have achieved the magic combination of refined yet comforting dishes served with warmth and friendliness in a cozy, charming, welcoming atmosphere. Their kitchen's strength is in the absolute prime quality of the ingredients, the wine list reflects the best that the wine-producing region of Chianti has to offer without breaking the bank or being snooty. For dessert - the apple crumble is as comforting as it gets! Be sure to call for reservations - the place is small, very popular with us locals and fills up quickly!

Yelp
Great food and friendly service. Especially liked like the eggplant and the Tuscan tuna salad.

Yelp
This was an amazing restaurant that we went back to twice. The service is great and all the waiters seem very happy to be doing their job. Marco(the chef) comes out before you order and gives you advice on drinks and food, Marco is super nice. Their menu gives you lots of options to order including: meats, pasta, and lots of yummy dessert options. The atmosphere is great and if you sit outside you are in a small field. The food tastes amazing and you may find yourself eating all three courses and over stuffing yourself. This is a small local restaurant and there is not tons of tourists like at some restaurants. If you are planning on going here make sure to make a reservation because the tables fill up very fast. Amazing restaurant and I recommend it for both kids and adults.

Yelp
This restaurant has very good service and kind waiters/waitresses. My family doesn't like tuna salad but we all liked it at this restaurant. And all of the food was super good. And the eggplant was the best I've ever had. This is a go to if you're near the restaurant.

Yelp
Simply fantastic! A wonderful host in an intimate setting. The owner gives wonderful recommendations. We started with the antipasto sampler that was terrific. Bread with olive oil and their own Chianti Classico was superb. Our pasta dishes of asparagus ravioli and pasta with duck were delicious. Finished off with Creme Brûlée and a pear cake and gelato, our meal was perfect. The bill was only 68 Euro. Best deal in Italy!

Yelp
We could not believe we were going to eat that 1,2Kg piece of T-bone steak, but we made it. Marco, the owner, has a way to listen to you to find cues of what would you like and sure he hits the mark.
