Excellent service, beautifully presented dishes, and worth every cent – but make sure to book in advance.
We passed by Cipasso earlier in our trip but it was fully booked, so we made a reservation for another evening – and it turned out to be one of the best dining experiences we had in Rome.
The staff were very kind, warm, and attentive, with a more classical, upper-level style of service. Small details stood out, like providing hooks for handbags at the table, or the way they mingled with us in small talk and food recommendations, always in a pleasant, never pushy way. This is what I’d call a real dining experience.
The dishes were beautifully presented and full of rich, layered flavors. You can feel the care in both composition and taste. We tried different plates, some with truffle and some without. I’m usually not a big truffle fan, but after tasting my companion’s dish, I have to admit it really adds something special ; so next time I’ll go for it too.
It’s clear why this place has such high ratings. Service and food together made it memorable. Prices are above average compared to a casual trattoria, but still very moderate for the quality you get. Definitely worth spending a little more here.
Strongly recommended – but do yourself a favor and book ahead.
