Apple store closed in Christmas unlike 24hours near Plaza. Thus, all crowds clustered to opposite staircase, Cipriani Dolci's entrance. Regardless of gusty wind occasionally at end table, still what a venue, great spot for grandeur, people watching too. Ended up eating main course initially dropped in just for coffee and dessert. Carpaccio is divine. Martini mixology good too although general pricing on steep side even for glass of prosecco and wines. Pasta comes in plate as well as griddle-like. Quite reliable tasty. Breadstick with butter and warm bread with olive oil, viscous balsamic the best. Servers generally good service although impunctual at times. -------- Loved oven roasted veggies. Pasta very nice. Branzino ok. Dessert superb especially lemon merengue. Venue, much better job than MJ Steakhouse. Servers adorned in white uniform traditional. Rolling new tablecloth for dessert extra effort.

What an amazing place to have dinner with your colleagues to celebrate the holidays ! Food was absolutely fantastic ! Everyone dish we ordered was amazing ! And the desserts, how difficult to choose just one when they're all incredible ! The service we received was fantastic as well, very attentive. Let's not forget the view of Grand Central Station, spectacular during this time !

Giving this a 3-star because although the food wasn’t great, the service and ambience made up for it. The servers were attentive, extremely polite, and created a welcoming atmosphere, which helped balance out the disappointment with the food.

Went to this location with a large party. Tried a bunch of different pastas as an appetizer. Each one of them were perfection and my main dish, Parpadelle Veal Ragu, was out of this world. Highly recommend!

This restaurant is gorgeous but such a shame about the service. Our server Wilson was very distracted all night. We had to look around for our server very often - when he did serve us he struggled to understand our English a lot. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was fabulous. If you can get a seat overlooking the Concourse it's just breathtaking. For the price of the meal the service really lacked. What a shame.

A dreamy birthday dinner in the middle of the city! The service was wonderful and the food was delicious. I had always wanted to come here so it was really nice to have a special dinner for my birthday with friends. Portion sizes were pretty good. I will definitely be back! So cute

I chose this location to celebrate my 30th birthday by myself, and it did not disappoint! From the moment I arrived, the hostess was so sweet and made sure to save me a wonderful table. The servers were equally kind and attentive. The food was absolutely amazing, and as a special touch, they brought me a celebration dessert and even sang 'Happy Birthday' to me. I wasn’t expecting that at all, and it truly made my day so special 🥹. I’ll definitely be back soon! Thank you for making me feel so cherished on my birthday! ❤️

I made a lunch reservation here to finally try the famous Vanilla Meringue cake and it did not disappoint! Also had a delicious dish of ravioli with excellent service throughout lunch.

I always sit at the bar with Ashley and Charles, they are always a delight and conduct themselves professionally. What a great view !!!!

Cipriani Grand Central is a great lunch spot for fine dining and meeting friends or clients. Food and service are of course excellent and the view of the ope air grand central terminal is fun! 10 stars

When you have out-of-town visitors, there are a few places that might be interesting for them. It might be a bit tourist-y, which usually means pricey. This spot is one of those place, inside the Grand Central Terminal. Since they are located on the higher level, you get to have a magnificent view of the terminal. I asked for the table with the view, but when we arrived, they wanted to sit us at the back... The lovely hostess told us that if we were willing to wait for the staff to clean and re-set the table, we could have the table with the view. We of course waited. It took a while, but I say it was worth it. We were all feeling some kind of pasta dish on this day. We ordered Organic Cipriani Spaghetti with Branzino and Cherry Tomatoes, Bucatini Cacio e Pepe, and Organic Cipriani Tagliarelle "alla Bolognese." What I really liked about is that they brought the extra serving in a metal container! For that, I feel as if the high price point is more reasonable. I must say I was not expecting much from a kind of tourist-y spot, but they were all really good! And they don't make it easy to say no to dessert either. They don't bring you a dessert menu, they bring you the whole dessert to your table to see what they are!!! They also bring you complimentary cookies. Yes! Out off the dessert plates, we chose Vanilla Meringue Cake and Vanilla Mille-Feuille. They were both nice sizes, big enough to share among the three of us. Not the best desserts I've ever had, but it was good. We had a pleasant lunch here with a great view of the stars on the ceiling of the Grand Central Terminal. The food was pretty good, and service was ok too. I would definitely put this spot as one of top restaurants to take my out-of-town guests in the future!

My hubs works over here so I've always wanted to come here, like for years. I always planned oh stay at Waldorf Astoria, eat here, have our son see NYC for the first time. Plans changed over the years and I can't believe the Waldorf is still not open! We still got to come eat here after seeing the tree/walking around Bryant park. Service was amazing as we sat down, was so cool sitting above the bustling grand central, our son was crazy about the bread. Just an awesome place to eat. Anyway the food, seriously one of the best pasta dishes of my life. I dream about this pasta. If you've never eaten the pasta dish I think Cipriani is known for, you are missing out. Greatest thing was we got the check paid and hurried downstairs to hop on our train back to long island. This place will forever be a core memory of a first Christmasy outing in NYC with our boy.

Had dinner here with colleagues and everything was delicious. The liver with polenta was fresh and tender. No livery after taste at all. The Papperdelle pasta was melt in your mouth delicious. Everyone loved their dishes and would happily return for more. The only complaint, the seating offers great views of Grand Central, but it's tight as your very close to the table next and behind you.

Food and service were excellent! The Ambiance in the Grand Central Station was exciting for this first time visitor, dining with two travel friends who live in New York!

I've always wanted to go and now that I have an office in Graybar I thought it would be a great spot for holiday cocktails. The location is prime a fantastic spot to have specialty cocktails and small bites or a meal. The maitre D was friendly and engaging and gave exceptional service. We didn't have a reservation but he gave us a table and checked on us often. The waiters also were friendly and offered exceptional service. The restaurant is located in Grand Central Terminal on the balcony. It has an upscale vibe with travelers coming and going out from the tri-state area. We ordered cocktails and small bites I had the Mr. C which has vodka, mandarin, lemon juice and Prosecco it is a class cocktail from the Mr. C hotel in Beverly Hills. My coworker had a champagne cocktail and the other had a martini. The drinks went fabulously with the Prosciutto Tower which included melon, grapes and parmigiana cheese. It was a nice way to end the day and a great send off for the holidays. I'll definitely be back!!!

Always wanted to try this place and finally decided to go on my own. It's small so it's nice for drinks. It gives you nice views of grand central. They do have a bar area which is nice. I had a drink and and appetizer. I ordered the prosciutto with melon. It was a good size but I do wish the presentation/ platting was a little better and prosciutto a little bit fresher but overall it was a good dish. Service was good. Recommend for after work drinks but be mindful that place is small and may not be good for a large group.

Tucked away in the bustling halls of Grand Central Station, Located on the West Balcony level overlooking the beautiful Main Concourse is Cipriani Dolci. The Ambiance is Good serving classic Italian dishes from the iconic Harry's Bar in Venice, opened by the Cipriani family in 1931. It was a nice lunch, service can get a little loud due to the nature of the station but food was good. The cucumber salad was fresh & crisp, Bread came after but nice & warm. The Spinach & Riccotta Ravioli were Definetly Homemade, Hearty, Tasty & filling. The ripe grated parm did add the finishing touch. The chocolate cake was not to sweet, simple but a nice slice. It was an enjoyable experience, do try.

Stopped by Cirpriani Dolci for a bite with a friend. Still celebrating my birthday The atmosphere was bustling given It was Times Square! The restaurant was busy. I guess we all wanted/needed a bite lol Service was lovely and friendly. The food was fine but lacked enough Branzino in the pasta so I was disappointed, tiny pieces. The sauce was lovely, the pasta was Al dente. My friend's salad was delicious The drinks were lovely as recommended by our server Jose. A very nice and charming gentleman. I was gifted a slice of the vanilla cake as my birthday present it was delicious $$

We loved being in this awesome setting... seeing travelers busily coming and going in beautiful Grand Central Station. Also, the service was friendly and professional and the food (3 mains that 3 friends shared) were small but delicious.

We never take the train into Grand Central Terminal without having a beautiful Glass of Wine and some appetizers here. I could sit here and people watch all day. Food is very good, wine is lovely, and the service is top notch. One can complain about the price, however, remember you are dinning inside of one of the most famous and beautiful landmarks in the world...there is a price for that. Anyway, next time you are passing through, I highly recommend that you grab a drink, slow life down for a minute, and look up!!! Enjoy!

It's basically expensive airline food, straight out of a 1970's inflight menu. An "avocado and endive salad was actually a bowl of pre-made guacamole on top of wilted greens. Prices are sky-high, portions are laughably small. Drinks are decent, but the pour is stingy. A negroni sbagliato came with a tiny splash of prosecco. That's not a sbagliato, ragazzi.

I came here for drinks and appetizers. It is nice and the service was good. I ordered the champagne cocktail and the prosciutto tower which was the perfect size for three people. I really enjoyed this place now I do not know how much it was because my boss paid for us. I did enjoy my cocktail and the prosciutto was very fresh and cut very thinly which I enjoyed. It was not overly fatty and the view was great. It was a wonderful time and I do recommend it. I would want to go back to order other dishes. I would also tell you the bread basket is complimentary.

In New York the native tolerance for tourists is hammocked in popularity somewhere just between leprosy and typhoid so the immediate revulsion towards Grand Central's Cipriani Dolci is understandable but largely unwarranted. If you want to hang with the smug cognoscenti there are quiet corners all over the city to show off your impeccably churlish smirk - if you want to hang for a bit and people watch in the magnificent Grand Central Station there's no loftier perch. Granted I could have probably done without the outrageously expensive prosciutto and melon and the beyond mediocre slice of pie but this ain't a truck stop in Lansing either. Another restaurant where location is their entire reason for being. Four stars for the voyeurism.

Food was cold, waiter was arguing with hostess as we sat towards the front. The baked pasta had about 9 strands of pasta in it, very very salty dish and super small l. Filet mignon was warm and not cooked correctly. It was my wife's birthday late lunch so I didn't want to make her uncomfortable. Please be aware of these facts and make sure you tell them, when you mention no alcohol, they are very rude saying, oh you dont wanna drink. Excuse me but be professional!!!!

I couldn't have been happier with my coffee and sorbet in Grand Central Station! It was a wonderful break from the hustle and bustle of the city. I felt like a celebrity sitting looking over the main floor. This will always be a stop for me when in the station.

This was pleasant, but undistinguished. I had grilled Salmon with roasted Brussels Sprouts. Both were bland. Nothing to strongly complain about, but I would not go out of my way to go here. Nice view of the Grand Central station concourse.

The staff here were absolutely wonderful & kind. The backdrop of the station is gorgeous. Try the espresso martini (and I heard the Bellini was wonderful from the woman next to me)!

The food was great but if you want to have the experience of your life, ask for Luciano, the best man ever. He created an unforgettable experience for us. Full of life and full of love, it was an episode of life in Italy in the heart of manhattan. Thank you Luciano for the amazing night you created for us. I hope the Ciprianj team knows what a gift you are.

Only eat here if you missed your train, and the next one is not for 4 hours. Because that's how long it will take to get your food. 50 minutes for them to get us our entree. 25 minutes for them to figure out a backup plan to their broken billing device. While I swipe my card at out table multiple times on an antiquated pop payment device out of the 90's. No offer of a drink. Desert. Comp. Horrible missed customer service 101 opportunity. And if you do have 4 hours before your train and want to eat there, bring snacks and cash. You will need them!

The lunch menu here really isn't that good, they have a dinner menu basically at all times, but the location is great. Given the convenience of the spot and unique setting it's always a classic spot but I wish the menu had more classic lunch items. Service is always amazing

Service was mid. The waiter got frustrated with us after we asked questions whether they could make a change to the food due to an allergy. He pointed to the menu when we asked questions about how the meal was prepared. Cucumber salad was $23... It was fresh but incredibly small portioned. The Pasta was al dente, small portion. After eating the pasta, a man came out with a full portion of pasta. They originally brought 1 portion of pasta, split it up amongst 2 people. Then realized it was supposed to be 2 full plates and brought out a full sized portion 10 minutes after finishing the meal. Luckily, we were done and decided to give it to a homeless person and they didn't end up charging us. The Veal was alright, extremely buttery but was expected. The man was hovering over us to hand over the bill. Very odd and pushy. Overall would NOT suggest coming to others.

Not THE restaurant in Venice or across the street, but a smaller accessible off shoot of the real thing. The location, however, in the Mezzanine of GCS is stunning. The service impeccable even if you're just having a soup and salad. Classic and unforgettable.

Way overpriced but when you want to grab a bite and view the beautiful ceiling at Grand Central, I guess this is the place. Mostly tourists and commuters. Met with friends visiting NYC and they had their dog with them. Nice of the staff for us to bring the dog, who is so well behaved and did not make any noise over the course of dinner. Appetizer was anchovy - way too salty..,.main course I tried the duck and my friends each had a different pasta dish and they also had wine. Duck was way too salty! Dinner was a whopping $350+ tips! On average , $105 per person...Most definitely will avoid since there are a lot of nicer places that are less costly!! But when you want to view the ceiling and are stranded in Grand Central, I guess this is the place to squander.......

I had time to kill before my Metro North train left and I'd always wanted to dine here. I didn't have a reservation but I snagged a table for one overlooking the concourse. I got the arugula tomato salad that had a great balsamic dressing, My entree was a baked tagliolini with ham and a béchamel sauce. It was good but the bowl was deceptively shallow so there wasn't that much in the serving. My dessert was a slice of lemon meringue. It was just okay. My waiter, an older roundish gentleman, was exceptional, he pushes this review up a star. It was fun to be up high watching everyone while having dinner.

If you come here for coffee, don't take more than a Cip... from Cipriani... I had a really nasty experience here, unfortunately. It was on my very short list of famous expensive restaurants that I was planning on eating at with a fancy date, on the rare occasion that I do go for fancy meal, which is no more than once or twice a year when in New York. It happened to be right next to my lawyer's office, so I was checking it out through the window and then I took a little seat on the steps (the ones that don't go into the restaurant, but are by the window), to organize my stuff before walking around Manhattan for hours. It looked way overpriced of course but I was still planning to give it a try at some point... That is until the doorman for the restaurant came out and very aggressively told me to move. I told him I'd be about 30 seconds (my stuff was out of the bag and I was slotting it back in to organize it) - responding in the nicest way possible - and he got louder and more abusive and said something about not sleeping or loitering on these steps (basically asserting I was homeless or panhandling). I'm sure they do have homeless problems around here but there's somebody all muscly and dressed this slutty with tanning tattoos and baby oil, I mean, is that obviously a panhandler, I mean, okay. Maybe it's the hair? Besides, I was pretty nice to him and he was pretty nasty to me, and that's the reason why I'm giving them a bad review - their people out front should be careful who they're yelling at and abusing, because you never know which one might be a customer or potential customer or someone with 11,000 Yelp reviews or whatevs.

Very expensive, I had veal , the gravy came out with veal and was lukewarm, probably put it in microwave with only 1 minute. Manager didn't speak or understand English. Mc lose your wallet , head over to Urbansoace and get margarita pizza, at least it's gonna be piping hot and 1/3 price.

Had a reservation for 6 people at 7:00pm. The us at 7:05. Thanks for your patience. It'll be just a couple of minutes. At 7:30 we asked again where is our table and he replied it'll be a little while longer, just be patient. Needless to say, we didn't wait around and went somewhere else.

Love to grab a table along the balcony, have a drink, and relax while watching rush hour train passengers scurrying home. It's an amazing spot to enjoy iconic Grand Central Station.

Drinks only here if you are vegan. There's a whole lot of us out here, and it's pure laziness to leave out a segment of the population who would gladly lay down some money for a decent bite. I'm not even asking for Eleven Madison Park. Just a chef with an ounce of creativity for one dish- just one- that isn't flaccid strips of veg. Gross. Shameful. Nothing spectacular abt this place, other than it's located in old Michael Jordan steakhouse spot. Only dish I enjoyed was tuna tartare. Based on menu prices, I recommend other Italian restaurants in the neighborhood better taste.

Love the location, what a special spot in Manhattan. Felt pretty dreamy, honestly, like I've "made it." I got the Chilean sea bass for lunch, it was very moist and delicious. Kind of wish it was a little saltier or more seasoned.

Cipriani is one of my favorite places when hosting out of town guests. The view from the balcony is iconic and while in the middle of grand central, the ambience is actually relaxing and pleasant. The food is wonderful.

Even mediocre overpriced food & bottled water can't 100% ruin eating leisurely, getting good service and resting tired tourist feet in the west balcony of the beautiful cavernous main concourse with the busy vibe of the crowds below. 5* Can use the old pretty elevators (west of the whispering gallery in the lower level) to go up to the balcony level on the 4th floor. 5* Food & Price Appetizer and Salad Doge Salad with greens, tuna, avocado, corn, asparagus, tomatoes & capers. $27. 4* Carpaccio alla Ciprian is Harry's Bar original recipe from 1950. $30. 3* Daily Suggestion Menu $45. 3* Tuna Tartare with Mache Salad and Tonnato Salad served with toast. Such a lovely Sunday dinner! I sat at the bar with my friend and had the most amazing time. After 10 years in NYC this spot was added to one of my new faves! First it is located in grand central station overlooking the main ticketing area. The setting is amazing. We started with the artichokes, which were delicious! I had the Chilean sea bass which was exceptional! My friend had the burger with fries which he inhaled . I also had the homemade lemon sorbet, which was incredible! The staff went above and beyond! The atmosphere is magical as you sit right in grand central station! I will surely be back! Thank you for an amazing time!

Visiting from Los Angeles and had the best experience here while grabbing a drink. Charles was so awesome. He even welcomed us to New York with some Bellinis. Recommend this place to have a drink overlooking Central Station.

Be careful when reserving late! I reserved at 9:30 pm on the Open Table app, re confirmed via txt and then got a call asking me to change it as they indicated that the kitchen closes at the time I had reserved. I cancelled and have to find another place!

Branzino was delicious, the gnocchi was too cheesy and rich it was hard to finish. We had a really nice waiter. Maybe worth one visit as it's right in Grand Central and you get to people watch but I don't think I'd go again.

Terrible, terrible quality! I ordered the chicken salad (gross!), a club sandwich (looked rather like a pie...), baked tagliolini and green beans. Everything was tasteless, looked stale and was over refrigerated or over baked. I paid $190 for this garbage and threw it all away. ZERO stars.

This is a very cool place on the West Balcony of the Main Concourse of Grand Central Terminal. You can't beat this for feeling like you are in NYC. You have a great view of the terminal and the crossroads of the world going on below. I would probably recommend it even if the food was very average. However, the food is not average -- it is very nice. We went for lunch and had great sandwiches and some nice salads. I would say that there are two downsides -- First, the menu is pretty limited. Second, the prices are sky high. A bowl of soup is $17 at lunch. The sandwich I had was $24 without any kind of side. Yikes. This is a nice place to eat if you can swallow the prices, and an even better place to eat if you are traveling on an expense account.

If you're looking for fine dining, Grand Central Station (where Cipriani Dolci is located) will do in a pinch, but seriously, you can do better. The prices are sky high, even by New York standards, and you'll be seated within sight of every tourist who steps in wanting a shot of the central atrium's super architecture. Of course, if you can tune out the tourists with selfie sticks, you can eat anywhere. My meal was good (cipriani tagliardi and a glass of prosecco to start)--the bread was warm, though the butter was rock hard. The pasta was not overcooked and the sauce was moreish...but would I return? No. I could never become oblivious to the steady stream of visitors going past on their neverending quest for the perfect Instagram moment. Of course, the view of the Grand Concourse is splendid.

4 or 5 stars for the setting. This is a restaurant that you visit when you want to show someone from out of town a unique setting. The food is overpriced and average. The views from the second floor of the station are memorable.

The food was horribly undercooked. Would not recommend. They also don't tell you that you have to pay for water and did not offer tap. Although the location is cool, that's the only plus to this restaurant.

An overpriced, ostentatious farce, the purpose of which is to keep the riff raff out. I can only guess that they are hoping that really wealthy people will have no issue paying $10 for a bottle of water, $24 for a dish of ice cream, $32 for a salad! It is a rip off for tourists who have no idea that they can go down to Mulberry street and eat better Italian food for one third the price! As a life long New Yorker, I'm ashamed that any business would scam people like this. If the rent is that high, MOVE TO ANOTHER LOCATION! That being said, the location is a novelty and the service was adequate but if you are of moderate means steer clear.

It's really more a 3.5, almost a 4.0. I have been here twice over the past three months, and I will definitely come back. Ambiance- The location is great, two balconies overlooking the main hall of Grand Central Station. Table cloth tables, and great design, including the stylish china. Service- Impeccable: fast, attentive and friendly. It would be easy for a place like Cipriani to fall into the snob attitude sometimes these restaurants have. None of that. Food- Can be good, but not consistent. I remember being very pleased with my meal when I came here in May. This time... It was OK. We started with the calamari, and had the potential of being delightful, lightly breaded, crisp to perfection, but too salty, way too salty. Had the spaghetti with branzino (mediterranean seabass) as my entree. Again another wasted great potential. The premise was awesome, spaghetti with chunks of fresh fish, in olive oil and cherry tomatoes, just like home. BUT the spaghetti was too thick, had the consistency of bucatini without the hole in the middle, and there was too much oil, kind of drowning everything else in it. Prices are in line with New York. This place could be great - I have tried the other Ciprianis in the city - and is just a few tweaks away to be a solid 4 if not a 5.

Where else can you people watch and take in the grandeur of Grand Central Station but in Grand Central Station? The view from Cipriano Dolci, the balcony, is amazing. Is the organic chicken club over priced? Yes. Is it delicious? Yes, again. But Grand Central Station does not disappoint. The conversation between you and your date will not linger or lack for topics to chat about while taking in the majestic Grand Central Station.

Flavorless, thick, chewy calamari, at $27. Good, just good lamb chops with a side of grilled seasonal vegetable at $46. Then there was the yeah-I-just-work here waiter attitude. Topping the meal off was the flavorless "special" of the day sea bass that was accompanied by dry rice at $42. What you're really paying for at Cipriani Dolci is the spectacular view of the Grand Central atrium. Sad, as we had just returned from a weekend away and was looking for a culinary book-end to our great weekend. [end]

I'm willing to cede that the Cipriani Dolci restaurant in Grand Central is probably the lesser cousin to the brand's other establishments, but still I had certain expectations for the experience of dining there. There were a number of issues from food, to service, to aesthetics. Our entrees - the spinach ricotta ravioli and the night's special osso buco - were both served lukewarm. Water glasses were left empty, we had to ask repeatedly for second rounds of wine, and no coffee was offered with dessert. Further, for the price of the experience, one does not expect holes in the tablecloth. A disappointing experience across the board.
