"Cira benefits from geography—it’s centrally located in the Hoxton at Fulton Market. The Mediterranean breakfast also makes things easy too, with broad enough options for tourists who want to begin their day with a classic American plate of two eggs, or get more spice from their shakshuka. The mezze platter is a solid way to jumpstart a day of strolling the West Loop, especially if the night before involved closing down Lazy Bird, the charming speakeasy in the Hoxton’s basement." - john ringor, adrian kane, nick allen, veda kilaru, sam faye
"The first thing you see when you walk into Cira at the Hoxton is a gas fireplace dominating the lobby. And while it doesn’t have the same rustic charm as some of the others on this list, it’s still large enough to be impressive. It also has a very civilized-feeling glass barrier, so there’s no risk of getting drunk and setting the hotel on fire. Plus, there are plenty of comfortable chairs and couches nearby. On second thought, we’re not even sure it’s technically a real fireplace. But it’s the thought that counts." - adrian kane, john ringor
"Despite being a neighborhood filled with subjects in Mad King Google’s realm, the West Loop doesn’t have the same corporate feel as River North or the Loop. That makes it harder to find an upscale spot to have a business dinner, but Cira in the Hoxton is a great option. This large Mediterranean restaurant has comfortable booths with enough distance between the tables so no one can overhear you negotiating plans to throw the office’s championship softball game over hummus and lamb shank." - adrian kane
"The West Loop doesn’t have the same corporate drone-filled atmosphere as River North and the Loop, and there are not as many people having business meals. But that doesn’t mean they don’t happen, and Cira is a great option if you want someplace sort-of-upscale in the neighborhood. The food is Mediterranean inspired, with dishes like shakshuka and yogurt with whipped tahini. The large space has plenty of big comfortable booths, which everyone knows is the right place to discuss Important Business." - adrian kane
"If the fluorescent lighting at your West Loop office is giving you a migraine, then working in the lobby of the Hoxton Hotel is a good alternative. It’s low-lit, and also has lots of comfortable chairs and open space. There’s a full cocktail bar, along with coffee and Mediterranean bites that are light enough you won’t feel like you need to check into a room for a nap after having a snack." - josh barnett, adrian kane
