CIRCA at Navy Yard

My family and I went for bruch. Our server was cordial but he never provided his name (black guy w/ beard). The food came out fast and was delicious. I had to flag down our sever to get the bill again he he never returned. So we had to checkout with another server. Thinking about it later maybe our original server wasn't as nice. To mention the place wasn't crowded. I gave a 20%tip not sure if I'll return.

Steak Frites, Caesar salad and the flounder special (not on menu) were both perfectly plated and delicious. Steak was perfectly done. The fries fresh and sprinkled with Parmesan. The breaded flounder was perfect and well seasoned and juicy on a bed of veggies that hid some gorgeous delicious huge mushrooms. We were pleasantly surprised by quality of food and service. But The restaurant gives me a bit of a 2010’s vibe in terms of decor and the food is traditional American so nothing too cutting edge. So if you’re looking for consistency and quality this is the ticket. If you’re looking for an exciting new food experience or more style and panache, this isn’t the place for you. I also suspect that you’re paying a bit of a premium for location- being so close to the stadium and navy yard. In another location, the menu prices would be little lower I think.

My husband and I went to eat dinner here and I loved the food so much that we went back the following week and I ordered the exact same thing - Pumpkin Ravioli. The best pumpkin ravioli I’ve ever had. The sauce was so delicious! The first time we went I got the pumpkin cheesecake (I know…that’s a lot of pumpkin) and it was good but I was so envious of my husband’s bread pudding so that’s what I got the second time and oh my goodness….it was the dreamiest dessert. I’ve since returned a third time and got the chicken sandwich which I thought was tasty as well. The food was actually so good that I’ve decided to host my friends for a chill baby shower brunch here. Updated to add that I did indeed host my friends for a baby shower brunch here and not only was the pricing fantastic for the private space in the back of the restaurant but the staff was so incredibly friendly, helpful, and attentive. My friends arrived earlier than I did to set everything up and decorate the space and they told me that the staff treated them very well. The staff even all signed a baby shower card for me which was above and beyond anything I could’ve ever expected. And of course, the food and drink was delicious. I highly recommend hosting your event at Circa!

Outstanding customer service and the food, plus cocktails were superb. Such a beautiful restaurant and lots of delicious options. The brussel sprouts were the best I ever had. The happy hour is also pretty decent. Definitely worth coming to check it out. The beef short ribs were so soft and delicious, lots of flavor. I'll be back!

I was happy with Circa in Navy Yard, they had a unique twist on Jambalaya with noodles and it was packed with chicken, shrimp and spicy sausage. The blue cheese Brussels were delicious. All the food stood out to me, but the cocktails were a bit pricey and underwhelming.

Ate at the bar. Great custom drinks were delicious. Friend loved the honey bourbon, I was more inclined for the mescal based margarita. The bartenders were very nice and super helpful in food and drink selection. Highly recommend if in town catching a National's game.

Circa is so fire we ate there three days in a row! Lol. Consistency is the thing for us. We had the blackened chicken mango and spinach salad, which was the same both times. The chicken was perfectly cooked, and you tasted everything they listed in the salad. And for our third and final meal, we had the CIRCA Burger, The Turkey burger, and the chicken sandwich! - Yum, yum, yum. See you next time CIRCA !

Enjoyed dinner at this cosmopolitan looking restaurant. Sat in the bar for Happy hour which extends til 7 pm at least on Mondays. The service was a little slow because our waiter was helping both tables in the bar as well as being bartender. The happy hour menu had a nice selection of food and drinks to choose from. I chose the feature drink (blackberry gin drink). It had a nice hint of sweetness to it and was pleasing to the eye. The food was delicious. I had the trout, broccolini, and sweet potato dish. The fish was cooked to perfection. The broccolini could have cooked for a minute more. The squash and sauce it came with was scrumptious. The restaurant was very busy but didn’t seem too loud which was a welcomed change to most restaurants.

What an amazing meal! This place came highly recommended by several folks at a conference I was attending in the area so I had to try it. Everything from the service to food runner to the manager on duty was on point. I know that there are many different restaurants in the area, I would make it a point to try this one.

I stopped in for an early dinner here recently while in DC on business. It was busier than I would have expected for the time of day, but they were able to seat me at a table with only a short wait. The waiters were terrific; I had arrived near the end of one's shift and she seamlessly passed me off to her colleague before heading out, including a special request I had. The blackberry margarita was so awesome I had a second one just for fun. I also ordered the heirloom tomato bruschetta from the seasonal menu. It wasn't the little bruschetta bread I would have expected, rather more like a garlic toast, but it was pretty tasty. I do wish they had disclosed in the menu description that it contained onions, though. The chicken paillard was good, but began to feel a little oily especially toward the end of the dish. I would certainly dine here again if given the opportunity, but might choose a different entree next time.

A great quick lunch in a convenient location in DC. Parking was fairly simple as it wasn't a game day so we snagged a spot by the stadium. The restaurant is beautiful and the bar is large. There's also patio seating. I had a delicious chicken sandwich with fries and my friend had a salad. It was huge! My sandwich had the most delicious dill pickle aioli on it and the chicken was tender and crispy. Yum! Our waiter was attentive and quick. We were in and out! Great dining option when in the area.

I really enjoy Circa's happy hour. $2 off small plates and flatbreads + drink specials that feature a $9 cocktail, $8 dollar wine, and $5 beer! I've really been on the hunt for amazing flavorful mocktails that aren't just sugar. The Blossom Lounge (camomile, ginger, strawberry, mint, and lemon) did not disappoint! The bar service was great and attentive and the ambiance was cute too. It was packed at all on a Thursday at 5pm.

I had the best customer service at this restaurant. I made a reservation on open table the day of based on reviews. I opted into sharing that my birthday was coming up and I would be celebrating. I sat near the bar area and it was not too loud or anything. I ordered a mimosa and the French toast platter. The mimosa was delicious. The French toast was different in a good way. It has a corn flake crust, almond granola, fresh berries, mascarpone maple cream. I asked for the berries and cream on the side as this traditionally doesn't come with the platter. The food was fresh and tasty. They gave me a birthday card signed which was such a good jester. The waiter paid for my drink since I was celebrating my birthday. 10/10 experience

One of my go-to spots for a quick lunch/dinner or weekday happy hour. They also have weekly deals (like half off wine bottles). The service has always been good and the place itself is cute with a standard American bar vibe. The drinks are well made and the food is solid - the wings, wagyu sliders and macaroni and cheese are all great and flavorful. My friends also really like the pretzel loaf. I get the kale parmesan salad with blackened shrimp (pictured) like very other week. It might be the best restaurant salad I've had. Their bread pudding with ice cream is also excellent, not too big and very rich - a great way to end a meal.

Food-- Chicken Paillard 9/10; I'd probably ask for a bit of extra sauce next time. Lovely entree, super flavorful & the perfect portion. Braised short rib: 9/10; super tender and full of flavor. Cocktails-- Tequila Mockingbird (seasonal): 7/10; I want to say it was a watermelon drink? Ehhhhh mediocre & I can't remember the other cocktail I had. Service-- 7.6/10; I wish they would've told me what drinks were on HH when I went to the bar [only place that fulfills HH & I'd rather get a drink for half off than full price, duh] to order.. server was a bit forgetful and we had to repeat a few times things we needed like napkins, & if I could order HH demos at the bar :) They did in fact bring water for our dog that accompanied us, thank you for that! Ambiance-- 10/10; we sat on the patio and it was a beautiful day!! If I don't sit at the bar I'd definitely be on the patio.

My togo place while working in Navy Yard. Such a nice day, I sat outside. Loved seeing people walk by, to and fro I got a medium steak frites entree, but it came more well done than anything. hard as heck getting through those tough steak bites The fries were delish

I met a friend at Circa for a happy hour/dinner and I was so pleased with what we ate and drank. We ordered the tuna poke nachos, the Mac and cheese, blackberry margaritas and each ordered a veg quinoa bowl (hers with salmon and mine chicken, both blackened). The prices were quite high but at least the servings were decent (though maybe not the cocktail- it was a bit small for the steep price). Heads up- in addition to the high prices, there's an additional service charge. That really pushes me away from restaurants these days.

Reliable restaurant located in the heart of Navy Yard. I've been here multiple times for business meals and dinner with friends--I'd recommend making a reservation and checking out their seasonal menu options. They also have a nice bar area with seating at the bar and tables along with outdoor seating if the weather permits.

I had time to kill so I stopped in for dinner. Sat at the bar. The bartender, Pedro, was dope from the start. Made some recs from the menu and he didn't miss. Highly recommend the blackened chicken mango salad and any drink you like! He can make them all. I don't get to navy yard often but I'd totally come back.

The food was so tasty. I had dinner two nights in a row and honestly, those were the only two evenings I spent in DC. Excellent service and very friendly staff. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Cute lil vibe. Service was decent but the food was really why I give this place 5 stars. We came late night about 10pm after an event at the Bull Pen. Ordered the chicken Caesar salad (blackened chicken and it was sooo juicy cooked to perfection)...the marinara sliders...chefs kiss, and the wings were also absolutely delish. I would love to come back and try a full meal/entree. Espresso martinis also did not disappoint.

A great restaurant with excellent service. Near the ballpark and Metro station. Bar selection is what you want. Sidewalk section really nice. The tuna poke nachos are fabulous. I went back for a second order. The burgers were perfectly cooked with amazing fries

Circa is located in the navy yard area and is perfect for happy hour, lunch, or even dinner before the game. I have been here on several occasion and the service is good each time. The staff is attentive and provide insights on the menu. The happy hour is only in the bar and high top table area. They also have tvs in the bar area as well and could be a great place to watching a sporting event. The shotgun shrimp salad is tasty and is packed with flavors. The mushroom flat bread is one of my favorites and it's something I consistently get when visiting circa.

I've only had a few items from the menu but so far, all have been excellent and fair priced. The seasonal veggies--broccolini-- were excellent. They even took the time to put a char on the lemon. The Brussels sprouts with bacon and blue cheese are amazing and the shotgun shrimp is a serious contender for best appetizer.

What a great meal and atmosphere. Our server Jeff was fantasitc. Braised Short Rib meal was one of the best meals I have ever had. Will definitely come back next time I am in DC.

Yes! Yes! Yes! I'm counting the days until I can eat here again! I met a friend for dinner here, and we were both blown away by the service and the food. Also, for the area, the prices were beyond reasonable. I had the spinach and goat cheese salad (minus goat cheese) - it was fresh, and the bacon and walnuts really added some great depth of flavor and texture. For my main dish, I went with the four cheese macaroni (which is a starter). It was definitely a good enough size for a single person as a meal, especially since I had the salad to start. It was super creamy - I consider myself a bit of a Mac and cheese connoisseur, and this is one of the better ones I've had. As I wrote this, I'm trying to figure out how soon I can come back and have this dish again! The only complaint is that if you are driving in from outside the area, parking is a bit of a pain.

Great restaurant recommended by the hotel we stayed at nearby. We were super hungry and ordered several appetizers including the beef sliders, bruschetta, and Brussels sprouts. They were all delicious and I especially loved the Brussels sprouts! Nicely roasted and crisp! For dinner I had the steak frites which was cooked exactly as I requested and was served with veggies and mashed potatoes. I ate it too quickly and forgot to take a picture. The restaurant isn't too noisy, conversations were easy to have without a lot of noise. Server was good, attentive, and friendly. Appetizers came out quickly and dinner took a little time. Will be happy to visit again.

New visit and while the food was okay the service was severely lacking. The table was so wobbly that the server even commented about it but did nothing. Meal brought out and was placed across the table with my empty appetizer dish left on the table. Never cleared the dishes until the very end right before the check. Never came by to see how the meal was or if anything was needed. Don't blame them as the conversation between the server and the bartender were seemingly the most important thing going on, or perhaps it was the conversation between server and server or between server and hostess stand. The food was as okay with the quinoa salad being mostly spinach leaves and little quinoa. The cauliflower hummus was great as usual and elevated the experience from 1 to 2 stars. Probably won't come back as there are to many other restaurants around the same area to try.

Great dessert spot! They had two of our favorites, apple pie and bread pudding! The service was amazing and after the game it was getting busy! Will be back for great desserts!

Pretty tasty food and reasonably priced (I'm nyc based). You have to be in person to put your name down but you can get reservations in advance. We had the tuna poke tartare, four cheese Mac and cheese, funghi flatbread. They were all yummy and I would eat them again. The four cheese Mac and cheese supposedly comes with the bacon/prosciutto but it was not enough.

Overall Experience, 3.75/5: Pretty good brunch experience here. The food was good, the service could've been better. I will say they do open a little bit later than most restaurants. Food/Drink, 4.75/5: The food was bomb! We got flatbreads, chicken sandwich, shotgun shrimp, and french toast. If don't know what you get as an appetizer the Shotgun Shrimp is a must! The bbq chicken flatbread was great, it was cooked will and tasted amazing. The french toast was fluffy and the chicken sandwich was seasoned really well. Their mock-tails were really good too! Definitely a must! Pricing, 4/5: The pricing pleasantly surprised us, considering its location, particularly its proximity to Nationals Stadium. Service, 1.5/5: Our server was STRUGGLING. He accidentally spilled our drinks on my friend and witnessed a similar incident with another guest's beverage. It's unclear if there were additional servers available, but it took him quite a while to return and take our orders. Aesthetic/Atmosphere, 3/5: It is very similar to most bar like restaurants. Great place for groups and happy hour!

The food is SO GOOD. Have been here a few times and I have thoroughly enjoyed the food. The last trip we ordered the bruschetta, shotgun shrimp, and the scallops. Everything was so good, I don't think we left one bite on any plate. We sat outside - they have a nice little outdoor area. The server was friendly and attentive, and let us move inside when it got darker and the bugs came out. We also enjoyed our time at the bar. Big fan of this location!

I made a reservation online a few days ahead of time on the weekend for my family of 5 with ease. There is plenty of street parking around navy yard. We came during the Morgan Wallen concert so it was especially busy, but I was able to find a spot. We enjoyed several appetizers during our stay, that were small in size, but extremely flavorful. The flavors are well developed and complex. The poke nachos were weird really delicious and the pretzel loaf was also outstanding. I decided to order the jambalaya for my main course, and was really pleased with this meal . The andouille sausage in the dish was incredibly Chris and delicious and paired well with the shrimp and pasta in the dish. I didn't order any drinks but there are plenty a great cocktails on the menu that my family got as well.

First the food. Fantastic. Like realy good. Our server was also great once we got one. We made a reservation for a patio table. Got there and place is empty. Like didn't think it was open. Stood at checkin for a few minutes. Greeter finally "sees us" sits us out side (completely empty) at a table that is literally duck tapped together. We moved to a different one. After sitting there about 10 mins and almost leaving server walks by. "O I didn't know anyone was here". Not surprised since we were the only ones there. I will say sitting on the patio you get to see DC finest embracing their stereotype. Got lots of hey "N" yelled at each other. Lots of "look out cracker" as they run or ride down the sidewalk on scooters. All wearing mask so I guess that's good. Very entertaining. About half way through meal they start putting up tables and chairs around us. Like please leave so we can clean your table. Probably won't be back. Not my vibe. Food is good though. Flys and other flying insects make it less enjoyable. If you set outside expect the strong smell of weed and free entertainment.

I've ordered food from here before for delivery, but just recently started coming in person for Happy Hour. The drinks are really good. The blackberry margarita (not pictured) is delicious. I also really enjoy their seasonal cocktails, but every drink I've had has been good. They subbed the pineapple for orange juice in my purple rain cocktail (pictured), and it had the perfect amount of sweet and spicy. For food, I also love the Brussels and blue (perfect crispness, nice amount of bacon, and the blue cheese melts perfectly into them), the pretzel loaf (so fluffy and the mustard butter it comes with is amazing), and their Flatbreads (I've tried the Margherita and the rustic Italian and both have been tasty). Additionally, their service is great. Max is very attentive and personable, but so are the other bartenders that I've encountered. Highly recommend overall!

My friend and I came here last month to try their restaurant menu, which was a phenomenal deal and came with enough food for us to leave satisfied. We started off with the glasses of wine and I appreciated that the waiter was trying to be as helpful as possible in our selection. For the appetizers, we got the shotgun shrimp and tuna poke nachos, which were both delicious. For our entrees, we ordered the pumpkin ravioli and the scallops. We loved the scallops, however, I found that the pumpkin ravioli was quite bland and I couldn't even finish the leftovers I brought home. For dessert, we got both the apple pie and brioche bread pudding, which was a nice finish to the meal. While the courses were brought out a bit slow, my friend and I were able to enjoy great conversation over mostly yummy food for a long time.

I went to Circa with my friend. The bartender, Nani was really gracious and really took care of us. He made one hell of a drink. Give this man a raise! Awesome bartender! Great atmosphere. Will be back, Arun

An excellent variety of food with fair prices. The sit-down restaurant has a menu for everyone, from kids to grandparents, and the service and quality of the food was outstanding. Our party of 11 went to a Nationals game, came back to the hotel to clean up, and went to the restaurant.

I initially had concerns due to a pest control issue at Circa in Navy Yard. During my recent visit, I saw a cockroach, and the waiter's nonchalant response upset several patrons. However, I appreciate that the company responded to address the matter. Despite the incident, the food and customer service are consistently excellent. I'm updating my review to give them an extra star for their prompt response and commitment to resolving the issue.

Service was so-so. Food was ok. Biggest disappointment was the pre-tax 4% service fee that they add on to the bill as a result of initiative 82, which raised minimum wage for service workers. Basically they passed the cost of the wage increase onto the customers so that the business doesn't actually pay for any additional labor costs. The fact that it's pre-tax is also annoying, as it then also increases the overall tax and tip. So essentially the 4% service fee ends up adding about 6% onto the overall bill. Bad business practice. I won't come here again out of principle.

Fabulous food. We got brunch: huevos rancheros, crab cake Benedict, shrimp appetizer and granola encrusted French toast. Each bite was perfect. Service was great. They checked in on us several times without hovering. Ambiance is big, open, and spacious.

I actually came here before going to Enchanted (happening at National's Park), it's super close - like 2 blocks away. Now let's get into the actual food and service. Service: 10/10 - I agree with everyone in their reviews saying service is amazing! They're super attentive. They visit your table frequently to make sure you're good. Food: For this time around, we stuck to the small plate section. The calamari were good in flavor and had olives and spicy peppers too. The only downside was they weren't super crunchy. The Mac and cheese was creamy and yummy. We finished the whole plate. The fall bruschetta was supper good too and fresh. I would definitely come here again!

Was staying nearby and found this place was actually booked marked in my Yelp account so I decided to check it out. The wings and mac & cheese were absolutely delicious. I wish I could have it again. I also ordered a spicy pineapple margarita, which was a Mocktail by the way. The waitress did a fantastic job making this drink for me to my acquired taste. The staff was super helpful and friendly and the ambience was phenomenal. Whoever the DJ is or whoever made the playlist for this place had me wanting to dance. Next time in DC, I'm adding this to my places to stop and eat at.

I booked this restaurant for my girl group to celebrate a joint birthday celebration. The restaurant was easy to find and there are two parking garages near by which made parking an ease. Our waiter was very attentive and did a great job juggling 6 people, their drinks and two gluten free diets. He was very nice and the food service was quick! Everything was amazingly delicious. My friend and I split the scallops & seared ahi tuna and both were mouth watering. Unfortunately the drinks didn't really hit it off for me - the so fresh so green was overly sweet with the pineapple juice and the Paloma tasted like smoked ash due to the burnt grapefruit piece stuck in the drink. But the food made up for it. The only other thing to be aware of is that we stored a cake we brought in at the restaurant until after the meal. I called when I made the reservation and the day of to remind them of this bit... when the check came, they charged us $25 to store the cake! I was extremely frustrated because it wasn't told to me during either conversation... our waiter waived the fee, thankfully. But it's definitely something to be aware of.

My friend and I went there for lunch yesterday. The wait staff were attentive and the menu was clear. We opted to sit outside. It was nice to have a bottle of water table side so we could refill as and when we chose. I opted for the steak frites, cooked to medium. My beef was probably closer to well done / medium well, but the chimichurri nicely balanced my slightly dry meat. The fries were quite excellent: well fried and properly seasoned. I would certainly order again in hopes the temperature on the beef could better match to my request. My friend got the fried chicken sandwich. He certainly seemed to enjoy his meal and the IPA he got to accompany it. Our server was available whenever we needed her without being obtrusive. I would certainly go again and I don't hesitate in recommending that you give it a try as well. Bistro well, my friends.

We came here after watching football to get some dessert. We sat at the bar and were quickly served water and able to put in our drink and dessert order. We got the chocolate chip cookies and the brioche bread pudding. The cookies were warm, soft and seemed really fresh, and the bread pudding was full of flavor and you can definitely taste the bourbon. It was a great spot for what we were looking for, and I would definitely go back to try their entrees. But if you are in the area and looking for a quick drink, highly recommend.

September review - Circa is in a great location in the Navy Yard. We were a group of six and they were able to seat us immediately after our event. The vibe ambience of the restaurant is picture worthy.

Circa is one of my favorite restaurants in Navy Yard. I visited Circa many times for dining and takeout purposes. This review will focus on the carryout/takeout side. First, the food was always ready ON TIME whenever the app tells me when to pick up the order. This is very rare these days. The friendliness from the staff was great during dine-in and takeout. Usually for takeout orders, the food is rushed or lower standards are applied ... not at Circa. The food quality is the same as dining in. I tried the same food both dine-in and takeout to determine quality. Overall, go check out Circa if you're in the area!

CIRCA is that unexpectedly good restaurant you can count on for good service and a good meal at a good price. I always took my parents here for brunch and didn't feel like we were breaking the bank. The restaurant is clean and bright. They have great happy hour deals Monday-Friday from 4-7 in the bar area, and curated menus during holidays (Mother's Day, Cinco de Mayo, etc.).

Always have a great experience. Today Isaac and Felix were particularly helpful. They're superr knowledgeable and ensured my experience exceeded expectations, which it did. They're excellent reps for the brand.

Great for a quick lunch, or even HH! I've never been when it was super packed, or loud. It's a nice low-key place with a large selection of food-you can find something for almost anyone. Staff is always kind and service is pretty quick as well.

Tried out this restaurant for the first time on a Saturday evening and it did not disappoint. I came with a fairly large party, and it was on a game day, so my expectations for service weren't too high. I was wrong!! The service alone was outstanding. My table had Isaac and Idon as our servers for the night and they were phenomenal. Kind, friendly, patient, and attentive. We did not feel rushed, and Idon came and checked on us throughout our tjme there. Our food came out in great timing. And along with the service, the food was good too!! I ordered the brussel sprouts to start. 10/10!! The balsamic glaze plus the blue cheese crumble. It worked!! Only downside to that is, i offered to share with the table...mistake!! For my entree I got the short rib. 9/10 perfectly cooked, u could use a spoon to cut the beef. It was served over a bed of mashed potatoes and spinach. I'd definitely circle back to try the drinks and more items on the menu!

This a a great restaurant. It reminds me of upscale ruby Tuesday! The fried chicken sandwich is really good and also all the breakfast items! Definitely stop by!

The last time I was at CIRCA, an "unfortunate" issue occurred as me & my friends dined there. We haven't been there since the incident happened. Yesterday, my other set of friends invited me out for a late lunch at the restaurant. Thankfully, we dined out in the patio section, so there isn't much to comment on as far as ambiance goes. It was nice to people watch. The Food: My friends ordered the Baby Kale Salad, Almond Crusted Rainbow Trout & Wings, Barbecue Chicken Flatbread, respectively. They both seemed to love their appetizers and entrées. I ordered the Tuna Poke Nachos for my appetizer. They were really yummy, but I do wish it was more to it & to add avocado. The entree I ordered was the Wine Braised Short Rib. It's a fan favorite dish & I am always delighted to eat it. I typically replace the spinach with broccolini (as pictured). I add extra 'red wine jus' because it's so delicious to me. The drinks: I ordered the Purple Rain cocktail. It was really tasty, spice level to my liking, but it was a bit sweet. I wanted to order a red wine for my short rib, but my waiter seemed to have gotten busy at that point. My friend ordered the Blackberry cocktail ( I can't remember the name). He seemed to really like it & ordered two of them. CIRCA has a couple of locations in DC & VA, and it seems like people love each location. They offer brunch, lunch, happy hour & dinner. Per usual, parking can be difficult at both locations in DC, so it would be ideal to utilize public transportation, Uber/Lyft/cab or carpool. If by Navy Yard, avoid going on game days.
