The best destinations for experiencing the Formula 1 Grand Prix

"A historic Ardennes circuit dating back to the early 20th century and redesigned in later decades, prized for its lengthy layout, sweeping fast corners and dramatic elevation changes that push cars to the limit amid scenic surroundings." - Gayatri Bhaumik

The overall experience at Spa was really great. The circuit is one of my favorites – high-speed curves, good overtaking spots, and fantastic energy. I stayed at Silver 1, and despite the concrete seating, it's truly a great spot with a wonderful view of Eau Rouge. However, there are some points for improvement: Come on, Spa organizers! It took four hours to exit the yellow parking lot. This is a shame, and it's been like this for years! The Silver stands really deserve a cover to protect from the rain. The fan zone was quite disappointed. There were only simulators, a show car, and tire-changing activities. I was expecting much more. And during red flags, instead of just having someone trying to hype up the public with random music and basic entertainment, interviews, some curiosities about the circuit and Formula 1, or historic images from the circuit's past would work much better. It was really boring to listen to an hour of random music and watch someone trying to make people have fun. Overall, it was a good experience, but there are many aspects that the organizers should improve

Attended the F1 race last weekend. The track is everything I hoped for. The event being put on by F1, not so much. Buying a GA ticket we walked the entire track and had a great time. But all the places with good views for GA tickets had been blocked by black cloth over fencing. Basically trying to force you to buy a much more expensive ticket for a view. Also, the parking was A NIGHTMARE! Quick to take your money and guide you into a spot, but when the race was over, not a single person in sight to help direct traffic. It was everyone for themselves. We sat in a farm field for almost 3 hours trying to leave!

It's one of the best circuits in the world. Really awe-inspiring to see. If you go to a major event here and you drive, expect a 3 hour wait time to leave your carpark. We went for F1, they do the best they can, but only so much you can do to exit 20,000 cars through a single lane, country road. It's worth it though. Who cares if you get to see F1 at Spa, you are lucky.

Stunning circuit with lots of history. We visited for F1 race which had plenty of action all weekend, Plenty of big screens for info and good views from our Gold 4 seats. Be prepared to walk to get around the circuit. Plenty of toilets and takeaway food, best toilets in the fanzone area. It's limited access to this old circuit and the roads are narrow, so be prepared to que to get in and out. Best wait to many have left before returning to cars and coaches etc. Its normally wet at Spa so bring wet gear. A great experience otherwise and well worth the trip!!

One of the classic circuits in Europe, located among the beautiful Ardennes and the thick forests. A splendid location by any standard, I visited it for the Formula 1 race in 2024. It’s great to be there with it’s full of life, with many people from different countries, fans of different teams, all enjoying the race together.

Loved the track. It’s absolutely fantastic and magical but … 1. Getting around the track: It’s very difficult to walk around this track and get to your seats cause they sell lots of tickets in general areas (no seats) so many people bring their lawn chairs and take over the walking path. This is especially visible in high visibility areas where the lawn chairs make us 4-5 rows on a walking path that is 5-feet wide. So the people coming in and out of the circuit now have to walk off the ciment path and into the rocks ditch and the forest. Which is dangerous and impossible for anybody with mobility issues. In addition to all these rogue chairs in the pathways, there are merchandise stalls, food stalls and bathrooms right next to the pathways which adds to the mess when you have chairs taking over the walking path and queues forming for food or bathrooms. Navigating all this is quite and experience. Ohhh and by the way, if you are seating in Silver (double gauche) the pathways are steep! Challenging to go down without falling and much harder to climb when you are leaving. There is also a serious lack of security personnel. We did not see anybody outside of the gates and the seat check. There is nobody around to do crowd control or to make sure there is a safe walking path available. 2. Getting out by car: What a nightmare getting out of this place after a formula 1 event !!!! Literally took is 2.5 hours on Friday, 3.5 hours on Saturday and almost 4-hours on Sunday (race day). We were stuck in queues everywhere. From parking to taking a 16km detour doing less than 10 km/hr to get to the highway. I get it; there’s too many people on a race weekend for this area but figure something else out like parking areas out of town and busses that bring you to and from the track. More busses from neighbouring villages that would encourage people to park a little further away. Green parking area is a nightmare since you are literally parking in a farmers field and they don’t have enough exits for the amount of cars parked in their field (like 1 exit for 2,000 cars) but … even if they did have 12 exits, the police control the traffic flow in and out of the towns so you can’t go anywhere cause there’s only 1-road in and out of Francorchamps and neighbouring towns. You are literally in the middle of the forrest with 400,000 other visitors on a Grand-Prix weekend so bring a bucket of patience with you and realize that this is all part of the experience. In retrospect, I would have booked a hotel room in town and simply walked back to our hotel had we booked a little earlier for this event. Another option is to stay in the track longer and have a few beers before heading to your car. But you see, with all these negatives I still rate this track a 5-star experience. It was a magical experience overall to experience an F1 race at one of the most iconic circuits in the world! We will not come back to this track but we loved it and the Belgian people and fantastic.

Wow, what a steep hill at Eau Rouge! Can't get an impression from the TV. Went for F1 GP weekend. Loved it. Shame it took so long for the coaches to get out on race day. We'd driven in on Friday and Saturday, no delays. Spoke to other people who coached in/out every day, they got stuck every day.

The track is okay, the rest is history.... especially if you buy tickets for bronze zone which are not cheap though (250€ per person). Some of the big screens that are on the circuit map are actually missing so you see maybe 10-20 m of track and thants it( no other way to get infos). People are very uncivilized in this bronze sectors, even if they have chairs that stand up so inevitable you have to stand up as well. The organizers don't care at all about the people staying on bronze areas, verrryyyyy crowded on the side walk, half of the lane is blocked with chairs. Besides that if it's raining you sine on a mud slope, if it's dry on dust and rock's. Better stay home and watch the GP.

Yelp
I had a fantastic time at the Spa Grand Prix for my first F1 race! Although, I do have mixed feelings about my experience. The race itself was phenomenal! The circuit is stunning with several different track viewpoints to watch the race from. This circuit has many fast corners so it was all very exciting to watch in person. There is also a fan zone with cool activities, photo ops and a stage for performances. I enjoyed my time exploring the circuit. The parking situation, on the other hand, was not the best. On Friday, we parked at the car park and it was a short walk to the entrance. However, leaving the lot was an absolute nightmare! It took us over two hours leave. There doesn't seem to be an organized parking system. The road we entered the car park from was blocked by parked cars and we had to wait for others to leave before being able to leave ourselves. On Saturday and Sunday, we decided to take the shuttle which was a lot less stressful and there was minimal traffic. The downside of taking the shuttle was that the drop off location was still a 10-15 minute walk from the track and it is all uphill. I did not like the walk but it was better than being stuck in the car park for hours. This appears to be an issue for fans every year so I hope they find a solve for this.

Yelp
Great weekend watching the F1 race. Definitely one of the most scenic tracks I have been to. It is as if the track has been carved out of the Ardennes forests and hills. It was a treat getting to walk around the circuit. The track is set in the most quaint of surroundings with small villages and quite neighborhoods around the track. The francorchamps village and the f1 village built up between la source and le Strets are both bustling with activity. It is like a complete F1 takeover. There are multiple places around the circuit where you can get great views of the race. The food served around the race was great tasting with options of bratwurst, curry fries, hamburger, waffles, gummy bears, ice cream softies, etc. For people on the liquid diet the options range from beer, wine, coffee, etc. The F1 village also has places to buy all the gear you want to represent your team.

Yelp
Great weekend out and one of the few GP's that it did not rain ..
