This Boutique Hotel in Madrid Is Near The City’s Most Popular Sites - Hotels Above Par - Boutique Hotels & Travel

"Housed in the former headquarters of the Mercantile and Industrial Circle of Madrid, this adults-only hotel blends a deep sense of history with contemporary design—photographs throughout chronicle the building and the city's evolution while muted neutrals and jewel tones create a modern oasis. Opened in 1924 and fully renovated in 2017, it’s most prized for its unbeatable Gran Vía location, placing guests steps from the city’s main shopping street and within walking distance of landmarks like Plaza Mayor and the Royal Palace. The property is connected to the Casino de Madrid and contains 71 uniquely shaped rooms that follow the building’s original contours (larger rooms feature terraces); interiors favor neutral taupe-to-metallic furnishings and many rooms overlook Gran Vía or an inner courtyard. Practical touches include free Wi‑Fi, 24‑hour concierge and room service, and an optional lobby breakfast buffet of cheeses, cured meats, yogurts and fruit. Rooms start around $450 per night, reinforcing its position as a four‑star, contemporary city stay on Madrid’s most iconic street."

We stayed at Círculo Gran Vía, Autograph Collection to celebrate my birthday and our wedding anniversary, and it was unforgettable. The room was excellent, the breakfast was fantastic, and the staff provided daily help with finding iconic places to visit. A special thanks to Leah, Rafael, and David for their outstanding service—though truly the entire staff was exceptional. Highly recommend this hotel for a memorable stay in Madrid!

We chose Círculo Gran Vía, Autograph Collection to celebrate both my birthday and our wedding anniversary, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. The room was beautifully prepared and very comfortable, and each morning we enjoyed a fantastic breakfast with plenty of options. What stood out most was the staff’s dedication—they offered daily help with planning and finding iconic areas to visit, which made our trip truly memorable.||A heartfelt thank you to Leah, Rafael, and David for their thoughtful and professional service, but honestly, the entire team was outstanding. This hotel exceeded our expectations in every way, and we look forward to returning the next time we’re in Madrid.

We stayed 3 nights here on our first visit to Madrid. The location is excellent for all sightseeing, the train is across the road with many restaurants and bars close. We used points for the hotel booked last minute, the room was spacious and the massage bath a welcome after long days walking. There is some noise, but you are in the middle of a vibrant city, and it didn't bother us. Staff were excellent and friendly. Recommend without hesitation.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Conveniently located for shopping, restaurants, and touristic spots and has a casino attached. Breakfast is ordered off a menu with some buffet options including cheeses, deli meats, fresh juices, pastries. All eggs were cooked very softly regardless of style. Comfortable beds. Plenty of toiletries. Small elevators which seemed typical in Europe. We had 3 rooms, each had a different floor plan.

This is a great hotel in a central location and the staff is very helpful. We had a suite with a great big terrace and even though it was January we could still enjoy the mornings and unwind at night on it. The rooms, bathrooms and closest are spacious. The staff was very helpful in helping us make dinner reservations and getting around.

Sadly, not what we were hoping for: room was on the smaller side: we are Bonvoy members and we had to ask to be changed. Then we arrived at the new room: there was a soiled towel left behind in the bathroom ☹️ gross. Frankly, arriving from a long trip and asking for your best option, you expect a bit more. Not the case. We wrote to the manager, we got an email back, as we were about to leave. It’s a well situated hotel, nice enough, but didn’t sit well with us. They could do better with service. Staff should know these things. It’s a beautiful property and your staff seems disinterested.

Stayed here November 2024. Very poor service, when we wanted to check-in at the proper check in time, we were told to come back because somebody is still in our room (like it is our problem) and told to come back one hour later. When we came an hour later, room was still not ready, I got upset und told us to get some complimentary drink at the bar, that was already a very bad impression from them. Put us in a room with a defective bath tub, which I requested the moment I booked the room on the app, and wrote to them a week before. So had to be transferred the next day (meaning packing our things again), put us on the WRONG wrong room then waited again to get to the room we settled in. It was such a hassle and was not a pleasant stay at all to us. And I cannot believe this is a 4-star hotel. I complained after all this and asked for a compensation, yes - I had to ask, they didnt even offer it themselves as an apology for all the hassle they gave us - free breakfast and some points. Not staying in this hotel again. Reception staff is young but they dont show any initiative to give good service.

My husband is a titanium member so we stay at a lot of Marriotts!||Location, location, location is the old real estate adage & this applies to this hotel. It’s in a perfect location for tourists. A 15–20-minute walk in either direction takes you to the Prado or the Palacio Real (Royal Palace). We loved this location & you will also.||Its on a busy street with lots of shopping & restaurants.||NOTE Uber cannot legally access the Gran Via so be sure & take a taxi!||Pros:||Excellent front desk staff & bottle of water upon check-in.||We were upgraded to a suite with an inside courtyard view which we preferred since there was no noise.||The suite was beautifully appointed. Living area with couches & tables & chairs & separate bedroom & bathroom. It overlooked an inner courtyard & that was what we wanted as it was very quiet.||We stayed several nights.||The hotel entrance was separated from the casino which we liked.||Free glass of wine at the bar for titanium members.||Lots of places to eat nearby & we liked Vinitus tapas bar close to the hotel that they recommended.||Cons|No lobby seating area & nowhere to sit beside restaurant, bar or your room as there is no lobby.||The breakfast buffet was either 30 or 35 euros & very disappointing - not worth it but we got it for free as a titanium. The buffet was very small & they quickly ran out of croissants & never replaced them even though we were there before 8am one morning. Service was below Marriott standards. Buffet did not have a large selection of food. Below average breakfast buffet & service for a high-end hotel.||Hotel does not have the WOW factor, like so many other European Marriott Hotels we have stayed at. See my review of the Barcelona Cotton House.||Only a 4-star hotel because breakfast was not up to par & there was no lobby to sit in. ||Also, no glass of cava is offered upon check-in like the Cotton House in Barcelona.||Conclusion - although we liked the location, I would try another Marriott on our next visit.|| If you like my review, I hope you'll click the 'helpful' button; those of us who write reviews live for those and it motivates us to do more.
