Wizard’s Beer Festival Coming to Boston - Eater Boston

"Cisco Kitchen & Bar, as it will be called, will feature an outdoor area for live music, portable food and beverage kiosks, a deck that looks like the bow of a boat, a fire pit, a boardwalk, beach volleyball, and a playground area for kids. Depending on how the permitting process goes, it could open around May 2020." - Dana Hatic

Food was amazing... Definitely recommend the buffalo chicken mac n cheese... It was banging. and the clam chowder was delicious 😋 Didn't really care for the Asian lady (boss) that was yelling at the employees in front of customers 🙄 about moving tables around and whatever as my family walked away...

Melanie Mathews

Google
This place is right on the water -huge venue. Lots of outdoor seating and indoor as well. There are lawn games and activities with great views. Food was fantastic! Even my kids enjoyed it. Recommend any seafood and sushi options.

Lauren Jackson

Google
Absolutely love the New Bedford Cisco location! Right on the water - so much room to spread out for seating. Lawn games. Multiple spots to order drinks. All around amazing views and vibes. Food is also great - get the fish tacos or any of the sushi choices. Beer is always A+!

Kendra Knox

Google
Their sushi, apps, and desserts are always excellent. The rest of their food is always subpar. Come here for the vibe not the food or you might be disappointed. For New Bedford the venue itself is awesome and has a fun, summer feel that is hard to come by in this area.

Google
This place has always been good- wonderful eclectic menu. Sushi lovers have great selections. Had the lobster roll before - very good & good value. Great creamy clam chowder. Great views from all seating

Google
Cisco is another one of my favorites! Love love love the atmosphere here especially during the evening/night time on a nice summer night. The sushi is so good and fresh! I've tried every cooked (lol) roll! Sushi on fire is my favorite!

Google
Fried lobster rice , boom boom shrimp , clam chowder , & chicken pad Thai. Service was good deff call ahead and make reservations . The vibe was low light live music on Saturday really enjoyed that touch makes it more of a dining experience. The lobster fried rice was so good one of my fav choices will be back to try more of the menu. They have huge sushi selection as well .

Google
This is the most lovely place for brunch/lunch. Food tasted great, the service was not rushed, and the ambiance let you have a relaxed time and enjoy the conversation over the table.

Yelp
Beautiful service, calm and nice, very stable environment. Food was amazing, told to remove the spicyness off of the teriyaki beef for the appetizer as I can't eat spicy foods they did it without any issues even when the waitress thought they couldn't. Ambience is pretty nice with a sight of the beach even during night time. No one yelling and fighting, waitress seem to be happy with her job, treated my mother with a free desert which she only knew that after she said it was her birthday so she went and removed the desert from the list. Bathrooms are clean, the place isn't a mess. Prices are a bit expensive but affordable and even with that the plates are BIG. Overall I'm content with the experience. 96/100 I recommend coming to this one :)

Yelp
Always amazing here! But we had the privilege to have Matthew S. as our waiter tonight! He went above and beyond on everything! We got the Bluefin, Pipeline and Endless summer rolls. All amazing. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Update: Emily from Cisco Brewers reached out and they ended up refunding the tickets. This was very much appreciated because we had a great time aside from the feeling that we had paid for something that everybody had gotten complimentary access to. Word of warning. Don't pay anything extra for any events here. We paid an extra 20 for seats for the wrestling. The seats were in no way reserved for ticket holders. Anyone could sit in them and we felt totally ripped off. They would have done better to charge a 3-5 cover for anyone who happened to come that day rather than this guarantee of a seat which was not guaranteed. Other wise the venue is fantastic, I love the beach sand and it's right on the water and is a total party and the beer is great. However the fries in the restaurant were not hot. And there were no jalapenos on the nachos. The veggie burger was a solid veggie patty though. Our waitress was also excellent. But yeah, charging for the tickets was a weird money grab that left a bad taste. Maybe if we had been here before we would have known better. But take this advice. Do not pay extra for any kind of prepaid tickets. It is bullshit. Otherwise enjoy! We had a pretty good time here.

Yelp
Had a salad that was fabulous. Ocean view, so nice on a warm winter day. Staff pleasant and professional .
google avatar

Chris L.

Yelp
Great spot on the Ocean, there is inside table service and outdoor seating where you order food from different food trucks. Plenty of parking Music and table games. Few places to take a nice walk after. Dog friendly
google avatar

Kimberley L.

Yelp
Food selection is great from sushi to ribs. Seafood service is great. They really hustle. Can't beat the view whether you're under the deck on the deck in the sand, ocean view, umbrellas for shade and live entertainment. Casual attire.

Yelp
Cisco's never disappoints. The beach vibe adds a really cool touch to the ambience. The service is always with a smile. The food is fresh and delicious! I love their sushi, and the beer is good too! They have indoor with AC, or outdoor dining and rooftop bar. All have beautiful views of buzzards bay. Cisco's is often busy so plan to wait or go on off hours and enjoy!

Yelp
Everything from start to finish was really fantastic! The location is on the water with fantastic views and a great atmosphere. The hostess was very friendly and we were seated promptly with a nice water view. Shortly after we arrived we were pleasantly surprised to hear live music during the day so it was a great addition. The oysters were perfect. A nice size, not watery or fishy at all. The nachos are hard to describe but they were almost like a salad. Take a look at the picture but they were amazing! The burger was also super well done. Easy parking and friendly staff. I highly recommend!

Yelp
Wow! Not only does Cisco make great food, have wonderful staff, and serve great beverages, but they are blessed with the kindest manager, Kelly! Thank you for the hospitality Cisco staff! Further, I appreciate how they give back to community! Will be back again!
google avatar

Julianne W.

Yelp
Cisco is a classic, and this location is no comparison to their Boston summer pop up! The ambience in the beer garden is top notch, with food trucks and drink trucks scattered about and great music always. The restaurant is superb, and despite service sometimes being on the slower side, I am sure it's because it is always slammed! If you're planning on eating in the restaurant, be sure to make a reservation so you don't have to wait upwards of an hour or two in prime time. I had the herb roasted chicken, and my friend had the teriyaki chicken, both of which were great! Not dried out, flavor was excellent, and sides were good. Heard good things about their sushi, so will be testing that out soon. Would always recommend Cisco New Bedford for a casual, fun summer evening!

Yelp
What an awesome afternoon!! GREAT FOOD both apps and entrees-and well priced with huge portions! Drinks were perfect (Georgia Peach Sangria, John Daileys and beers) and our waitress EMILY C was absolutely 10/10! We had an awesome time-such a cool vibe and super fun atmosphere!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Yelp
My family really enjoyed our visit. The location and decor are stellar with hip nautical design and clear water views in almost every direction. Our server was charming and helpful. The menu is incredibly diverse, not your typical beer kitchen. First of all they have a lot of Asian food including a nice selection of sushi with locally caught options, and Asian grille dishes like salmon on glass noodles with teriyaki glaze. My youngest daughter loved that dish, which made my wife and I very happy. The beer selections include a lot of atypical Cisco options including the seasonal IPA which had a perfectly balanced peach flavor - not too sweet or heavy. We loved dinner so why not desert? The carrot cake was good, a nice way to wrap up our meal. With the 195 bridge out for two years we will certainly be back. It was packed by six with a two hour wait so reservations recommended.

Yelp
Really liked everything about the venue. Nice big parking lot with crushed shells, the outdoor venue had plenty of drink stations, food, gift shop. Enjoyed walking the grounds, sitting in the Adirondack chairs with a great water view. Live music with no cover. Dined inside after the show. Our server Keith was fantastic. Explained all the beer and food options perfectly. Food was very good. We have bbq pulled chicken sandwich and chicken wraps. Great food, 6 stars for service

Yelp
Solid lunch bento box for $18: miso soup, salad, 2 gyoza, and 2 maki rolls. Drink prices were higher than I anticipated.... definitely no New Bedford discount. $9 for vodka seltzer. (They were out of shark tracker lager) Service at the bar was excellent. I'd go back. Curious about the chowder!
google avatar

Yelp
Loved the location, the design, the menu, the good. My sister liked the wait, which was short. All fresh ingredients, well prepared

Yelp
This is a hopping place. Outside it is self serve, find your own table. Picnic tables and benches, a band started playing around 7. Food trucks with mostly fried food. You can sit outside and order takeout form inside- which I tried to do, but got through the checkout process and got a message the restaurant had closed down takeout orders. It's expensive, but relative given there really isn't someplace like this outside Newport. Bottled water (you have to get it from the food truck) was $4 each. Drinks were standard, around $12. Food was pricey- $10 from summer salad which was really just a bowl of arugula, a few tomatoes and maybe half of an ear of corn. Fish n chips (substituted watermelon for fries) was $22. Not sure I would eat here again, but defiantly would stop by for a drink on the water and the music. Parking is a premium. Seems most people park on the lot to the left or the street. We scored a spot in the small lot by sheer luck. Take a walk on the path around the water after it's pretty.

Yelp
Cisco is such a lovely spot in New Bedford for an outdoor meal or drink. It's an absolutely fantastic set up on the water with a great view of the ocean. It has a fun ambiance with live music and outdoor games on a nice day. I didn't order any as a vegetarian, but the people I was with ordered lobster rolls and said they were delicious. The ceasar salad however was pretty mediocre and the cornbread that came with it pretty dry. The service we had was excellent - I was in a big group and we were in a rush to get to an event and they were very accommodating to all our needs!
google avatar

Lauren Z.

Yelp
The food here is always great and the service is also good. We got the chicken sandwich and the nachos, both were really good. The nachos were more like a nacho salad than a traditional plate of nachos, but will definitely order again. Great space and a fabulous view! Can't wait to come during the summer to sit on the rooftop

Yelp
This place truly has it all. Great location, amazing atmosphere, a huge food and drink menu, and great service. This is my new go to spot as long as I'm down in New Bedford. I wasn't sure if they just served beer here but upon getting here I found out immediately they have a great wine and liquor list, on top of a great beer menu. I sat at the bar and loved the experience. The bartender was great. They have sushi, barbeque, seafood, burgers, etc. here. You could come here everyday for weeks and not get bored with the menu. I thought the sushi roll I had was solid and the seafood platter I ordered was huge. This was mostly due to the size of the Shrimp, which were insanely huge. I really have no complaints. My only recommendation would be to add Sake to the drink menu as the restaurant has a great Sushi and seafood section and I think adding Sake to the menu would be a nice addition.
google avatar

Jay L.

Yelp
Food here is always great. Incredible atmosphere especially at night. Entertainment, games and great food.

Larissa M.

Yelp
Went tonight with my husband and in-laws. It was not the first time - it is THAT good. Such a great menu, rich with possibilities to get from sushi to steak, and they taste so good! Staff is friendly and efficient. Overall a great choice to have in the New Bedford area.
google avatar

Laureeann Ruel ..

Yelp
A fun place to be...... many times I will bring my pups and have a couple of drinks. Great place to walk around and people watch. Staff is wonderful and they are really attentive to my pups. Can we talk food? Probably the worst in the area. Will go for the drinks but pass on the food....

Tiger W.

Yelp
Vibes are through the roof Crusted Parm chicken was delicious and a large portion as well. Beers are sick. Service was a little bit slow but it's Ight because the view and vibe is just so nice. Best place u can go in new beddy on a nice sunny warm day. VIBES.

Yelp
We went to this restaurant after a funeral service for lunch, the food was great and the staff was amazing. We were a huge group of 20 people and they were efficient and super nice. The restaurant was sit up special for us with a huge table and it was a great dining experience.
google avatar

Karen D.

Yelp
We had a great evening at Cisco. We stopped to grab a drink at the outside bar and sat at a table where the patio is very dog friendly and cute little beach "atmosphere". We went inside for dinner. We sat at the bar and had exceptional service. Our main bartender Leah was fantastic. She was very attentive to all her customers. She knew the menu well when asked questions and had great recommendations. Our food was fantastic. There were 2 other bartenders whose names we didn't get but they were also great. We will definitely be returning soon.

Yelp
First time here, but really enjoyed it. Has a unique open concept, with a restaurant, distillery and brewery all within a few feet of each other. The beer & food is great, with an awesome view out to the water. Great for fam, friends, pets & the like.
google avatar

Sam L.

Yelp
I was amazed at how good the food is here!! I know the view is amazing but was in awe how many various options they had and the quality they have for a brewery! This is definitely a place you want to come to with impeccable service! Highly recommend!!
google avatar

Marie M.

Yelp
Service is good. Food ok, fish taco were ok, I have had better, didn't taste the mango sauce. And fries for my hubby's burger were not cooked thru. Margaritas were very good.

Cooper H.

Yelp
Update: I am revising my review to reflect a positive response from Cisco Brewers. The General Manager contacted me directly requesting additional information regarding my initial attempts to contact them. Upon reviewing the information sent, it appears that there is a glitch in their system when customers reach out but they did take responsibility for the error and are looking to address that concern. They also replaced the glass that I had purchased in a very timely manner, mailing it to me.

Yelp
Waited for about 20 minutes after our reservation time even though I got a text saying our table was ready 15 minutes before the reservation. No biggie but the host could've been more communicative. Just checked my name and no one said anything else to me for 15 minutes. Food was great, service was great and quick. Very loud inside, hard to hear anyone at our table. I think if they turned the music down just a bit it would balance out more so people aren't yelling. Overall still a good experience, the food and service was great and that's what matters to me.

Sam D.

Yelp
This place rocks! The kitchen is excellent and the sushi outstanding. Went tonight with the family and service was precise and speedy. Live music was a nice touch - not too loud. Will be back often.

Sharen G.

Yelp
We stopped by after a day of visiting the different landmarks in New Bedford. We were initially seated in a spot and asked to be moved so we were not in the center of the restaurant (outside area with clear tarps to put down during inclement weather. It was met with much consternation as they said they saved those tables for parties of 4. Please keep in mind that the place was essentially empty as it was a rainy sunday late afternoon. The food was ok. I had the tuna salad and my husband had the fish and chips. His fish was soggy when it came out and barely warm. I ordered tuna salad and that was fine.

Michelle M.

Yelp
I've purchased the chicken banh mi before and the amount of chicken was proportionate with the bread size . However today I ordered this for pickup and noticed on the 1st half the amount of chicken was very limited but then I saw the same for the other half. There was barely chicken on my banh mi (see picture) and I paid close to $20 for this. I did go during a busy time today either way not sure what happened.
google avatar

Rose M.

Yelp
Came back in after 8 months. Pros: great service, cool, tropical vibe. They seated us 45 minutes earlier than our original reservation. Nice sushi bar. Batter on chicken and scallops still under seasoned. Scallops were dry and chewy at times. Prices have inflated. We had a side of chicken tenders for $12. I wanted a glass of wine but sure as heck did not want to pay $15 for 9 oz of Kendell Jackson. My sushi was just ok. Smoke and Fire. It was listed as a cooked roll but it was cold and raw. All in all, high price tag for just ok food. Two times was enough. I will not be back.

John M.

Yelp
Another wonderful experience at out favorite south coast spot. The food is always outstanding. In addition to a wide array of beer there are great cocktails including unique and inventive specials. Our bartender Patrick is a true professional really enhancing the experience.

Yelp
I went to Cisco Brewery today with my friend in New Bedford and the hostess behavior was truly disgusting. She lead us to our table and while she put the menus on the table before my friend could even sit down, she turned to look him, still wearing his sunglasses, and asked him "why are you looking at me like that"? My friend was so confused didn't know what to say and she insists saying "why are you looking at me like that? do you know me from somewhere? and then she asks "are you high?" This hostess was an older white woman and my friend is a young black man. To ask a stranger who you are encountering for less than 60 seconds, in a confrontational manner, if they are high?? Who are wearing their sunglasses and doing nothing out of the ordinary?? Is outrageous Not that it's okay to ask anyone that but my friend is an academic advisor at a public University and is enrolled in a random drug testing program. Neither of us smoke weed. The outrageously rude and ignorant hostess made my friend feel so uncomfortable and both of us didn't comprehend the reality of the situation until after we left because neither of us had ever experienced something like that before. Would not recommend going to this establishment especially if you're a person or color.

Yelp
Hit this place on a Wednesday evening to check it out. I can't speak for the food because that will be the next trip but it is a pretty cool place to sit down, relax, have a drink, and enjoy the water vibe. Ordered a couple of drinks from the spirits cart. A bit surprising that they didn't have Sprite or some equivalent so I had to settle for Gingerale. $12 each might be paying for the monthly rent but a watered down bev is a watered down bev. Looking forward to coming back and trying the food.
google avatar

Jakob S.

Yelp
The beer garden is always a great time! Love the variety of drinks you can order and the live music most nights is a plus. Sat down for dinner here and they were out of nearly every drink we tried to order which was a bummer. Overall pretty good experience.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food and great atmosphere also. Love the live bands, stands. Great for adults and children

Kirsten C.

Yelp
Zoey was the BEST server!!! She took such great care of my bestie, her kids, and myself!! She was an absolute saint & helped entertain our two year old guest!! She had great sushi, food, and drink recommendations including her specialty drinks that need to be added to the menu ASAP!!! The blueberry & raspberry lemon drops are the best things I have ever had!! So thankful for her making this the best experience for our first time here!!!!

Apple H.

Yelp
Clam chowder was horrible made watery and potatoes only, no clams. Fish and ship was a joke. This was a take out order, no napkins, ketchup not utensils given. They tried to charge me $10 more than was they quoted me over the phone. Nice location but the food quality is not that good.
google avatar

Yelp
You will have a great time and a great meal at Cisco! Young or older crowd all will feel welcome as they give you great food and great service in a nautical upscale feel. Land ho!!
google avatar

Matthew S.

Yelp
In the summertime, they offer music every day live! a little pricey, but the live music is outdoors and you can always grab a bite first

Billy L.

Yelp
My first time there with my wife. I literally work a few miles down the road but live in Swansea and never think of coming here. Went in tonight(Sat 8/24) and found two seats at the bar near the servers drink station. It was dinner and a show! Our bartenders were amazing!! Two hour wait, the place was packed inside and out, tickets were pouring in and they handled it like pros with smiles and laughter. Most bartenders and wait staff would have been in the weeds instantly! Excellent atmosphere and entertainment, and beautiful views. We split the Boom Boom Shrimp and Veggie Spring Rolls for an appetizer. Both very well cooked and tasty. My wife had the veggie burger. Not frozen or processed. You could tell it was fresh and homemade. I had the fish 'n chips with the light dry batter. Best fish 'n chips I've ever had in my life. They gave us so many fries I had to dig through them to get to the fish which was so good that I hardly ate any fries. If I had to give one ounce of criticism, I would say that the fries were slightly under done and not seasoned well. Price wise, we had two apps, two entrees, four drinks and a dessert and our bill came to $122. Very reasonable. All in all, very glad we gave it a shot. I would say it's my new favorite by FAR!!! You owe it to yourself to give it a try.

Yelp
A brewery with a fun relaxed beach vibe! Great place with plenty of seating and food and beverage options. I had to try the beers since it is Cisco brewing property. The strawberry sandy and gray lady wheat ale were both refreshing. We opted to sit outside but inside the restaurant area. You can't bring beverages from the other vendors in this area as they have different liquor license. They should have a sign posted and not take people by surprise who the.La are forced to chug their drinks in order to make there table reservation. The food menu is lengthy and caters to all types. My husband got the pulled pork sandwich and the rest of the group ordered a variety of sushi and shrimp dishes. The Boom Boom shrimp was AMAZING with the right amount of spice. The sushi was fresh and filled with flavors that explode in your mouth. The shrimp cocktail was more like prawns they were so large but meaty and delicious. I would highly recommended visiting for a quick bite, beverages and even ice cream!

Yelp
It is my first visit here and I consider myself lucky that my work brought me by this place. I almost drove by but managed to quickly turn in. Come see Patrick behind the bar. He rocks and is totally in his element. I'm giving it 4 stars only because I haven't had everything on the menu...yet. but I will be back. Even though I am on the deck, it appears to be a compound with multiple bars outside with outdoor games like Jengo and a great ocean view. Apparently they brew and distill a variety of beverages and it is fantastic. I will be back and I'm sure will give it the five stars I believe it deserves.

Yelp
We've had this restaurant on our radar to try, but it's been close to impossible to find a reservation same day. Yesterday (a Thursday) we tried to dine at another restaurant and they had no availability. On a whom we looked and Cisco had an opening so we booked. The outside area looked fun with live music, plenty of picnic tables and some different trailers offering beer, wine, frozen drinks and vodka seltzer. We were told these tables are first come first serve. We dined in this time, and I can see why they book up so quickly, space is limited in the indoor dining area. The decor is a vacation vibe wirh ocean views (or parking lot) depending on your seat. Our waiter was friendly and helpful with guidance on gluten free options for my husband. He was able to order the cod without bread crumbs and I had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. My chicken was fantastic, super crispy. I loved the Cole slaw and French fries as well. For dessert I ordered a decaf latte, which waiter said he'd check if they could do and we split carrot cake. We thought the waiter forgot the latte and we finished the cake. The waiter brought out latte but said it was on the house since it came so late. Nice touch. We will be back, we enjoyed the ambiance and good.

Yelp
Great service, big menu!, highly recommended. Seafood, sushi, etc. indoor, outdoor dining.

Yelp
Drove over an hour to visit the brewery for country fest, looked at the flyer on Facebook and their website and thought all was well until we arrived at the entrance. Turns out to be in the beer garden you have to be 21+ or with a parent or guardian to enter which was not on any of the information given out or written anywhere on the website. Spoke to the manager and did not get an apology and was told that my 20 year old girlfriend could not be there without a parent while there were kids running around with wristbands. Don't know why there wasn't a thought to have different colored wristbands for those under 21 who should still be allowed to take part in activities even though they are not drinking. It was not written anywhere that it is 21+ unless accompanied by a parent.
