Austin Democratic Congressional Candidate Greg Casar Loves Austin Restaurants | Eater Austin

"A long-standing East Austin Tex‑Mex political haunt that figures into a regular Sunday routine; he typically orders huevos rancheros and black coffee and enjoys chatting in Spanish with his regular server, making it feel like a community gathering spot steeped in local political history." - Nadia Chaudhury

Austin Tex-Mex Restaurant El Patio Is Reopening in North Campus | Eater Austin

"A long‑running East Sixth Tex‑Mex institution underwent a similar revitalization when new ownership took over in 2017: Matt Cisneros, the grandson of the original owner Rudy Cisneros, along with Will Bridges, Rick McMinn, and Bryan Schneider, preserved the restaurant's multi‑decade legacy while guiding its next chapter." - Nadia Chaudhury

The chips and salsa hit the spot! If you're in the mood for drinks, this place is a solid choice—especially during happy hour. The food is tasty, though it wouldn’t make my personal top ten. That said, if you're after a lively sports bar vibe with good eats and great drinks, this is definitely the place to be

We love going here for Happy Hour and also special occasions. The patio is lovely. The atmosphere is always positive. The wait staff are always kind and helpful. Service is amazing. Food is always delicious! Highly recommend this restaurant for a lovely dinner or lunch. Even just for a quick bite and a drink of your choice after a long day out is wonderful. Can't say enough good things about Cisco's. Always our first choice for Mexican food. Great prices during Happy hour and regular hours.

We absolutely love coming to Cisco’s, and a huge part of that is because of Emma! She’s hands-down one of the best waitresses — always so friendly, attentive, and genuinely makes every visit special. It’s such a treat to see her familiar smile every time we come in. She’s the reason we keep coming back!

I will preface this by saying the last time I came to Ciscos was about twenty years ago and I was served what I forever called string cheese enchiladas. It was terrible!... However! I just went back andIt was delicious! The service was excellent and I could not have been more pleasantly surprised! The atmosphere is loud, be it in the bar or dining room, but the food was great and the staff attentive! It was surprisingly busy for a Thursday night but everything that was ordered was received in a timely fashion. I would say that the food is moderately priced but far surpassed there cost with quality! They have definitely upped their game in the last twenty years. Will be coming back again! Update... They do need to perfect their Spanish rice, as it is not that at all! Cumin, onion powder, garlic powder, tomato sauce... It's not rocket science.

Always friendly, good food and great drinks. I wish they would come up with a queso option, I talk to so many people who agree. Seems so simple

I’ve been to Cisco’s many times over the years and have always had a pleasant experience. Normally I get my own plate but because the portions are so generous I shared with my dad. We shared the beef stuffed peppers (don’t remember the name on the menu) but it’s basically like a chili relleno with meat. It was serviced with 2 peppers and a side of rice and beans. It was DELICIOUS! The outside layer on the pepper held together nicely. The flavor was delicious. My aunt got an ala carte taco and enchilada and my mom got an ala carte chicken enchilada and fish taco. We were all full but not stuffed and thoroughly enjoyed our food. We will keep coming back!

This place is on point. First time trying it out with work family for a pre Xmas dinner & this place didn’t disappoint. We were a party of six & all of us enjoyed our meal. Service was great.
