Citrus On the Lake Boutique Hotel / Citrus Sky Bar Tavares

We stayed here while in Tavares area for a Labor Day weekend with all our naughty friends. Our lake view room was large! Could have used full length mirror in the room. Pool was great. Rooftop bar was awesome. 10% off coffees and other places as they own some of the shops and restaurants at the bottom of their other two buildings. Great price. They are in the process of making some upgrades, so it’ll get even better. We’ll stay there again!

We were there for the July 4th experience on Lake Dora. The balcony room was AWESOME clean and efficient . To top off our trip we et Trinity, an employee at the Citrus. She checked us in during this busy stay date. She was very professional and customer-oriented. She also worked at the Citrus Sky Bar as a bartender which is a MUST visit and the Argonaut. another cool bar. What we love about this location is you can part your car and walk everywhere. Thank you Trinity for making our trip so enjoyable. We will definitely return.

We were looking for a hotel with a lake view, restaurants in walking distance, boat ramp with a marina, and allowed pets...a place we could chill. This hotel checked all the boxes. We stayed in the main building. Our room had a balcony that overlooked the pool, lake and marina. Our room was clean with a simple kitchenette (coffee maker, microwave, small refrigerator). With no exception, every single staff person we encountered was professional, friendly, and proactively asked us if there was anything they could do for us. The area is so quaint. There is a paved walking path linking the downtown restaurants along Lake Dora including a playground for children. We enjoyed watching people launch their boats as well as the seaplanes takeoff and land. The lights of the marina make for a romantic evening to sit on the balcony with a glass of wine. Since we stayed early in the week, there are a few restaurants closed on Monday but there were still options available. We enjoyed 2 evenings at the Citrus Rooftop Bar enjoying the spectacular view. We did take advantage of the 10% discount at the sister restaurant properties too. We recommend the key lime pie at Poppy's Ice Cream...unbelievably delicious. And say hi to Maddie. Overall - We had a wonderful experience and we're looking forward to returning again soon.

The rooftop bar is an absolute gem, and Trinity is a shining example of exceptional service, consistently demonstrating attentiveness, friendliness, and professionalism. In contrast, the bald bartender's behavior was unacceptable, as he exhibited rudeness and arrogance. During our initial visit, Trinity provided outstanding service, while the male bartender displayed a dismissive and disrespectful attitude towards her. On our subsequent visit, Trinity was absent, and we observed the male bartender's unpleasant demeanor, which prompted us to leave after consuming only one drink. We later discovered that Trinity was employed at The Argonaut Bar and Lounge across the street and opted to patronize this establishment instead. On our third visit, accompanied by our family (6), the male bartender's behavior was egregious, as he directed a derogatory look towards me when I requested the frozen drink menu. This incident, coupled with his previous misconduct, led us to relinquish our patronage of the rooftop bar and instead enjoy our drinks at The Argonaut Bar and Lounge, where we were assured of receiving kind and respectful service. Although we have a deep appreciation for the rooftop bar, we will not be returning due to the unacceptable treatment we experienced.

We just finished up convention at the hotel and everything was perfect! Great rooms.. we had a HUGE sweet.. for very reasonable prices… excellent service. Everyone went above and beyond. The rooftop bar was beautiful, great bartenders, drinks, food and an amazing view of the lake. Several restaurants within walking distance were all excellent. We will definitely be back!

Building and rooms were out dated, but fantastic overall! Can't wait to go back. Toni, the front desk attendant, was absolutely the best. Her smile lights up the lobby. We had a wonderful time, and will be back in November for the Phantom Airborne Brigade jump.

Awesome place! We enjoyed the Sky roof bar on top of the hotel. Everyone working there was friendly, and the room was both clean, and a comfy bed. The water views were nice, and we liked the location which is close to shops & restaurants. Will definitely be back again!
